Hello, I need urgent help in how to rip a damaged audio CD. I found a bunch of my mom's old CDs from the early 2000s that she believed she had lost, most of them are in ok to bad shape. Her bday is coming up soon so I wanted to get an MP3 player with all the music on the CDs loaded up on it as a bday gift. They are abour 30 CDs, I have come across two of them that play just fine with some songs having a couple of hiccups, I went ahead and ripped them but they stay stuck as I can hear the DVD reader on my PC go crazy trying to read the disk while ripping. Is there a way I can rip these CDs? I have tried cleaning them well with soap and water and a soft cloth but to no avail. I heard there was a brillo option but I do not wish to damage them any more than they already are to the point where they are unplayable. Any help will do please.

I am currently in the process of designing plans for building an MP3 player. If you have any prior experience in building similar electronic devices, I would appreciate hearing about your experiences. Specifically, I am interested in knowing what aspects of the project were challenging and what parts were more manageable. Any insights you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have an issue with windows media player. When I try to play any audio file windows tries to open windows media player but it freezes some 40 secs. then it let me closes it and shows a message showing the file path an "RPC server unavailable" I can play those files with any other program. What bothers me: If I first open Windows media player and draw or double click the file, it will play without issue. I already tried some solutions I found on the web, like searching for RPC in "services" to stop and restart it but both are deactivated. Any advice pls.

Hello, I'm currently developing an MP3 player software (called tornado player). I've decided to rebuild the software, working, this time around, on many new, interesting and convenient features. I would appreciate it if you guys could provide some ideas that could be included - things you've always wanted, things that some playback software are lacking, or things that should be included in such software but you've never seen it. My current list of features is as follows: - 'Play' checkbox - choose songs to be played/skipped in a playlist - 'Favourite' check box - Watch folders - folders where adding/removing mp3 files directly affects the playlist in the same manner - Multiple playlists - Playback resumption - whenever you relaunch the application, playback resumes from the exact playlilst, exact song, at the exact time (minus 3 seconds, for convenience) - Shuffle and order - Revert history - a list of songs reverted by the user and the ability to go back to the song at the time when it was changed - Times played - Time until song (in a playlist, the time left until you reach a certain song - Loop - Change speed - Youtube Downloader and format conversion Thanks for the help

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good quality MP3 player that will drive some high quality headphones. (Headphones are mostly used with my home PC anyways.) I'm currently looking at getting a DT 770 PRO (32 ohm) or an ATH-M50x (38 ohm) pair of heaphones, and that leaves the smaller part of my budget for an MP3 player. I'm looking to spend about $50 on one that will drive them without too much distortion or be too quiet. If I really need to get a portable amp, then that is a possibility. Thanks, DAGGER51

Hey guys! I'm trying to make a video in Premiere Pro CC2017 and of course I wanted to use some music in it. I used "Youtube to MP3" to download this song. But it shows 0.0000 (length of clip) when I import the MP3 file. I tried some other MP3 file I downloaded via the "YT to MP3" site, and that worked fine.

Looking for a Mkv Creator and Audio Converter

I just set up an unRaid server and I am looking for some software to organize my music and movie library. Here is what I am looking to do. Movies 1. Move all my movies into .mkv's 2. Rename movies into the format for Plex 3. Find and download meta-data for the movies, posters ect. Audio 1. Convert .flac files to mp3 or something else 2. Organize and rename into a standard format. 3. Find duplicates and remove I really have no idea what programs there are. I did some googling, but I did not see any obvious results. Ideally a program that I can run in a unRaid VM or as a plugin or something. Thanks -
Hi all, I'm currently in the process of selling my ipod Nano (7th gen). A question that I have been asked is whether there is any way you can transfer music from a pc/mac to the ipod without the use of iTunes. I know that there are many programs that solve the issue however I've noticed that all of them require you to pay to use, and only let you trial out the software. So does anyone have any recommendations as to how to do this / any freeware that I can recommend to the person that may buy my device? (The reason why they are asking this is that they want to be assured that there is an easy or easy-ish way to transfer music onto the device in the event that iTunes shuts down.) Thanks!

Hello. I've been trying to edit the 'Unsyncedlyrics' and 'Lyrics' tag for FLAC files in 'mp3tag' for Windows and 'Star Music Tag Editor' for Android unsuccessfully. I don't know if there's something special about FLAC tagging that i'm not aware, i don't have any problem editing those same tags on mp3 files. I haven't tried foobar2000 or other tag editor because i already have trouble editing the tags on two unrelated programs on different platforms. I usually can type the lyrics in the tag but it either won't save at all, would show up as saved but it won't actually save the lyrics or sometimes it actually saves successfully. It's very hit or miss, so i don't know what i can do, i've tried searching in other forums, on reddit, searching in the depths of google to no avail.

A common annoyance/security hazard on this forum is that sometimes there are people that have hardware issues on their PCs such as a dying fan, buzzing noises from their PSU, noises from their HDD, and etc. I think that it would be nice/safer to have an audio player built into the site so as to prevent the possibility of the accidental download of malicious files, and also save us the time of downloading an MP3 file just so that we can help someone debug their rig. Thanks!

Need a program for changing song names/ metadata
Guest posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
So the situation is like that: right now, i have the mp3 data just as a file name. author song_name.mp3. I would like to rename all my mp3's so the song name is the file name, and the author etc are as a metadata. I would like something that is free and with a very simple interface. I know i could use audacity, but is there anything simpler? The kind of interface i would like, that automatically from the file name derives the author and the title. -
I needed a program to convert .adf files to .mp3 and nothing worked. Then i found 2 codes and thought that they might work, but i have no idea how to get them running. The first one is python (2.0 i think) And when running it just flashes a black console and then closes. When opening in visual studio code i still cant get it to work... I want to do the proccess, because i like the gta VC radios and would like to convert to mp3 myself, because youtube loses a lot of quality. The next one is c++. That i cant get it to work also... I opened it in VS code, saved as a c++ file, and it doesnt open also. https://codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/75011/converting-gta-vice-city-adf-audio-files-to-mp3 If you have any idea how to help, please to. The proccess should look like this. FLASH.ADF ----> Flash.mp3

Now, I'm not sure if this counts as piracy, but does anyone know of any good ways to take the soundtrack of a YouTube video and download it as an MP3? I use to use a site, but it has become really unsafe now. I need it to be fast and safe. Not ones that open free software popups every three seconds.

I know that this is mostly a hardware forum, but I thought that there might be a few experts that could give me some advice. So my dad has this YouTube channel where he uploads a lot of Kurdish culture stuff, he sort of gathers a lot of stuff from around the web and consolidates it into one channel if you will. He was working on this mp3 file, trying to "remaster" the file, and his exported file refuses to play at an audible volume on mobile devices only. Can any audio experts explain this? Much appreciated <3 Files can be found here: https://goo.gl/fYdjhx

Is there a good way to download audio from Youtube onto my phone? I will be getting on an 8 hour flight in a couple of days, and if it's possible I would like to binge some episodes of my favorite youtube podcasts. However, I really don't want to pay an arm and a leg for plane wifi. Is there any way I can download the audio from them onto my phone to play back offline?

Hello there, I need some help finding good software to convert media, primarily audio. I usually don't mind what format something is on desktop/PC because VLC Player can pretty much play anything. But on mobile, and especially the iPhone, I can only import and play music that is .mp3 or .AAC. Unfortunately trying to have everything nicely organized with iTunes is neigh impossible. I have one large folder with everything in it that I then copy a specific folder/album of music to the itunes library as a playlist and then fix the file info there if needed. Usually no problem if the music is already mp3. My problem is that I have a lot of audio files that are .mp4 and .FLAC. I know iTunes itself can convert files but I want to avoid duplicates in the library. And I know VLC and convert media as well but every time I try it just makes a tiny data file and nothing else, so I'm doing something wrong there.. So how do you convert your media/audio files? What program(s) do you prefer for converting audio? I'm looking for something that is either for Mac or PC; don't care as long as it's reliable, has good options and compatibility, doesn't ruin the bitrate or anything else(artifacts or skips) when converting down from flac to mp3, keeps the metadata, and doesn't overwrite/directly replace the original files. Also something that can do several files at once(for an album) would be nice.

Do you guys know of any decent MP3 players besides Apple products? It seems like the only ones available in stores are the nano, shuffle, and ipod touch. Yet neither the nano nor shuffle have the storage space I need. And I really am not interested in all the extra apps and capabilities of the touch. I just want to listen to music! Any suggestions? If nothing else, I'll try to find an ipod classic on eBay.

I received a music album CD as a gift from my friend, now I want to play those songs on my mp3 player. However when I opened the CD on my PC, all the files were CDA and did not do anything if I moved them outside the CD. So how can I fix this problem? Are there any reliable software that converts CDA into things like mp3 and wma? Thanks ahead of time.

source: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/51215664/mighty-streaming-music-without-your-phone Mighty Audio is an MP3 player targeted at all those who decided to make music streaming their sole source of music entertainment, to more precise, targeted to those who live and breath Spotify. This new MP3 looks really familiar, something that has been available for more than a decade, ring a bell? Jokes aside, the Mighty takes what made great the Shuffle and takes it out of the 2000s; how can you rebuild this wheel you might ask, well simple: no iTunes (or computers in general) needed for music syncing! The mighty relies on blutooth connectivity and your smartphone to sync with your Spotify library, which may be something really painfully slow to do, but is a step in the right dirrection if you ask me, maybe next, if this kickstart company survives, they could implement wifi syncing (even having the Mighty as wireless hotspot like the wireless hard drives) to make their solution better than what one has to go through with iTunes (i know that the Shuffle isn't the MP3 player of that kind, but frankly, iTunes way is better then the drag and drop method of non Apple MP3 players, unless you have Rhythmbox or Banshee, but that's just me). To use this device a Premium Spotify account will be required (duh!), and you'll have to download the Mighty app for iOS or Android, have those two and you'll be able to enjoy your music outside without relying on your phone. So far their kickstarter campaign sits at 160k$ and needs to reach 250k$ to meet their goal with 25 days remaining. Real question is: will we see this with Luke on kickfarted? Want to know more about it? technobuffalo has had the chance to have an hands-on with the device: http://www.technobuffalo.com/2016/02/27/might-audio-hands-on-this-crazy-spotify-powered-music-player-really-works/
