Evening fine people Recently moved my pc from a diffrent room to a new room and tried to turn the system on, however when I tried to the pc will power on the GPU, the storage drives and a seperate fan controller but the motherboard will not power on as can be seen by the fact it's LED will not power up and the cpu fan doesn't spin. I tried plugging the computer back into the original place but the problem remains the same. The PU is receiving power as is the fan controller but my motherboard will not Further to this, after moving the setup iv noticed a strange crackling noise coming from the PSU. This hasn't happened before and I was wondering could this be a Psu issue despite the fact it can power on both the GPU and the case fans. I unplugged and reset both the memory sticks in case this was the issue and tried to remove individual parts starting with the GPU to see if this remediates the issue but to no resolve As always any assistance is greatly appreciated and system specs are down below, Thank you ever so much you amazing people RTX 3060 - GIGABYTE 15 8600k - INTEL 600 W PSU SILVER - EVGA Z370 PD3 MOBO - GIGABYTE 2400mhz 8gb × 2 DDR4 RAM - CORSAIR

hello kind friends. i have recently bought some pc parts, assembled them and the pc works fine. i am seeing right now that i am using some corsair vengeance rgb pro 2x16 cl 16 ram with this serial code or version code: CMW32GX4M2E3200C16 and it says intel xmp certified on the box. i have verified my b550 aorus elite v2 ram support manual and i can't find them. are there any issues? i have attached some pictures of the motherboard and the ram. can you please let me know if there are any issues? also, i have made an xmp profile in bios and they are set to 3200mhz. i never know this existed before.

I had my PC built about 6 years ago on a budget and I'm looking to get another year or two out of it before I buy a new one. I've come to the conclusion that what's mostly holding it back is low memory and so I started looking up what it is I have and what I might need to upgrade it. So the board I'm working with is an MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, and it's currently fitted with 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM. Thankfully MSI still has a list of components that my motherboard is compatible with but that list is very long and searching model numbers in Google is painful and often fruitless. I've only recently been getting into the nuts and bolts of PC components as Linus's videos have inspired me that anyone can understand and build computers, at least at a high level. Now that the background is finished, if someone could answer a few questions to ease my suffering a bit I'd appreciate it. 1) Am I over-complicating this and basically any DDR3 will run on my board? 2) Is there an easier way to search for compatible RAM sticks? 3) Is it significantly better to go 2x8GB over 4x4GB? The latter is cheaper overall from what I've found so far, even if I have to replace the memory I currently have.

My RTX 2080 won't register while plugged into the x16 slot but will on the x4. I tried a different GPU on the PCI-e x16 slot and had the same issue, second GPU works on the x4 slot as well. I've read a few other articles where people suggest updating bios (did that) and some people who say (on other motherboards) there's a way to enable/disable PCI-e slot, does this hold true for the Z590. I've done a bios update, tried booting with one stick of ram (tried every slot) used the x4 PCI-e Slot, booting with no storage devices. I also reseated the GPU and CPU and checked both for ang signs of damage or blockage in the ports. Specs: -z590 Aorus elite ax (motherboard) -Intel Core i9-10900KF 3.7 GHz LGA 1200 (CPU) -RTX 2080Ti (GPU) -Corsair AX 860 W 80+ Platinum Certified (PSU) -G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 (RAM)

So I'm gonna build a PC which contains the GIGABYTE B450-DS3H as the motherboard.... As seen on other posts it has only one RGB header.... I have a total of 5 RGB fans...... Can I use a 1 to 5 splitter from Cooler Master and use it on the single header? Or will it cause voltage or other fatal issues

Budget (including currency): ~ Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am planning on upgrading to a 5900x from a 3700x. I will be giving the 3700x to a family member to use for general propose computing, no heavy work loads. (I know its WAY over kill but they need a computer and i want a 12 cores) I currently have the 3700x in a x570 MSI gaming edge wifi mobo. My question is should I upgrade to a better mobo for the 5900x to allow for a better OC and leave the 3700 in the MSI board. or should I get a B550 for the 3700x and drop the 5900x in the MSI board? Also what cooler should I get for the 5900x or know its early to ask these questions since the CPU just came out.

So I was going through my stuff today and I came across some extra parts such as an I3 3220, gtx 960 3 tb of storage ect basically enough for a whole pc. my question is would the i3 bottleneck the 960? if so how bad? my kid is getting into computers so I was gonna use this one to let him learn how to build it and what not.

Hey Guys, Just bought a custom pc from cyberpower and was super excited untill I booted it up. To me it appears that my cpu performance is throtling at 550mhz no matter what I do. I have updated all my drivers, Change power setting to high performance and even reseted the BIOS to the default settings. I really want to start gaming on this rig and I won't be able to get any support from cyberpower untill monday so I am hoping someone can find a fix here for me. I'm building my first pc and I'm really looking for help The parts I've picked is around my pricerange and I'm really flexible, except the CPU, Video Card and Case (Unless you can convince me with a better case for around the same price). I got questions like: - Is the motherboard good? Is the Mortar MAX better for the same price? (Pricing in Norway sucks) - How much of a difference will 3600Mhz give me? - Do I really need M.2 NVME and that much storage? Or should I go with a SSD instead? - How much watt should the PSU have? I've been mostly looking at Corsair CXM and TXM series - Should I change anything? I'm really open for suggestions!! - Case fan recommendations? - Monitor recommendations? (Mostly looking for 144hz 1080p for gaming but I'm fine with 4ms) Thank you sooo much for helping out this noob!!

So we're at the end of the build, just the gpu left and I notice that the io shield on the gpe is getting into contact with the motherboard plastic decoration, making it impossible to slide it in properly. The case also doesn't allow for wiggle room as that would end up scratching the motherboard. Here you can see the plastic bit blocking the gpu io shield. So we're completely stuck and scared of trying with a firmer grip in case the motherboard gets scratched. If anyone has any tips or have seen a similar situation we'd be really grateful for the info Specs; Case: Corsair Carbide SPEC-04 TG Mid Tower MB: ASUS ROG Strix B360-F Gaming, S-1151 GPU: ASUS GTX1660 6GB

Hello, I’ve been having some ram issues with my computer. It never bsod or has any performance issues and my computer currently sees all my ram. The problem is I fail mem test horrible, like fail 1-13. And also if I switch around memory modules the computer sometimes doesn’t see all the ram. I have 30gb and it’s a ASUS x79 board. The ram is all mix matched no more than 3 of the same one, 8 sticks total. 4gbx7 and 1 2gb. When I test individual sticks they all seem to work but some of the memory slots don’t work. But with all the memory in it doesn’t have that issue anymore. The slots that I think are dead don’t appear to be. I know it has to be something with the ram because it seems like every 6 months like clockwork my OS gets corrupted and can’t boot anymore. And I have had files mysteriously become corrupt as well. Edit: Also when i was testing my motherboard slots there was 4gb ram on one side, 16gb on the other and the 16gb side didnt get recognized. I had to pull the 4gb stick out from the other side for my computer to see the full 16gb. The dead slots seem very inconsistent as it seems like it could be any slot at any time depending on the ram configuration.

I did not hear an audio notification that plays on Windows 10 devices when a USB device is connected. I unplugged the device only to find that on the USB cable itself was the purple receptacle in the port (shown in the picture.) After realizing this, I noticed my computer was frozen. I shut my computer off, and since that night my PC hasn't been able to turn on when I hit the power button. All that happens when I press the power button is that the fans in the PC start to spin and the orange light on my motherboard turns on for just a second, but then everything turns off. This will keep repeating until I hold down the power button again. Sometimes, the orange light comes back on and the fans start to spin again for a bit longer, but then they stop shortly after. I've had no problems with power or startup until the USB port broke. I have tried to disconnect the cable that connects to the USB 3.0 slot on my motherboard, but nothing changes. There isn't a USB 2.0 connector connected to my motherboard either. I've also tried disconnecting my PC from power, holding down the power button for 10 seconds, and letting my PC sit for 10 minutes before trying to boot again. I've also tried to clear the CMOS by using a screwdriver to touch the two "clear CMOS" pins on the motherboard for 5-10 seconds; my motherboard doesn't have a jumper pin. The front USB cables were disconnected from the motherboard for all of these attempts. NZXT support is supposed to ship me a replacement module for the front panel, but since the above methods haven't worked, I'm worried that there may be problems with my motherboard. Is there anything I can do to solve this issue? Thanks for the help.

hello , i am VERY new here and still learning this forum, plz dont ban me if this is in the Wong place. the dell motherboard i have is a g33m02 and it used to work but i had to heat up the case to get it to power up, it used to turn on the PSU and after wile it would turn on the motherboard and it would POST and boot, now it is head in to winter and i cant get it to the heat i need without doing damage. it dost even turn on the PSU. i have the original case with all the front panel swichs working. i also tested the PSU and it works just fine. i am thinking the mother board it's self has a somewhat broken power circuit some where. i am open to ideas, if i need to replace it i like it the new one to be under 40 $ USD. thank you for your time,

Parts I already own: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/n6GVrH I have $1000 - ish before taxes for the CPU, CPU Cooler, Motherboard, Ram. Leaning towards a 6700K + a Noctua nh-d15 because I am going to OC. Can't figure out what mobo + ram would be good. I play Arma 3, Stream moderately, some video editing. Let me know what else I missed. Cheers! EDIT: I know the GTX 960 sucks, and I will get something top of the line when the new cards drop later this year.

Hey everyone so im rethinkning my build plans which were a asus rampage v extreme, and a 5820k with 2x980ti, I just was thinking and i could save close to 700ish bucks if i switch to a i7 4790k and a maximus vi extreme? The rig is mainly going to be used as a gaming/ dev rig and light/moderate video editing?
