I have a fan hub but I don't know how to connect it to the motherboard to be able to control the fans and LEDs via software, the motherboard has both 5V RGB pin and 12V but I don't know which cable I should take to connect the hub, I leave an image of the hub hoping that someone can advise me which cable to take and where to connect it

I am thinking about building an APU-desktop using the ryzen 5600g and an asrock b550m-hdv, however my question isn't reserved for this processor. Because the B550 motherboards came out before the launch of the ryzen 5000 series nevermind the 5000g series, i need a motherboard with BIOS-version 1.70 wich was introduced on the 5. march 2021. Will I get a new enough BIOS when purchasing the motherboard from Amazon? In store purchase isn't really an option (except this is a major benefit) because here in Switzerland we don't have that many computer stores in my area. What age of an BIOS should I generally expect when buying a motherboard... Thanks for your help!! PS: Yes I'm aware that 12th gen intel is a better choice when b660 motherboards are out. This PC is also for my grandfather who doesn't need much GPU-performance.

Budget (including currency): around €1000 Country: Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming I'm helping my brother upgrade his rig, but am currently not sure which motherboard to go for. What i'm planning on saving from his old build: The case the storage the psu (hoping the 550W will be enough for the new parts) the new parts: CPU: Intel Core i5-10600KF € 235,05 cooler: Noctua NH-U12S €60,- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO €51 GPU: not sure yet, something around: €600 the gpu i'm gonna figure out based on availability and my brothers possible price range extension, so the problem i'm now mainly facing is determining a motherboard. I've taken about €100 into account for it, but the range of options is stunning. I'm personally inclined to just sort all cards with an lga-1200 socket by cheapest and pick the first one with a PCI-e 4.0 x16 socket, which brings me to the Gigabyte H410M S2 (https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/1560098/gigabyte-h410m-s2/specificaties/) I know however that this is not a great idea due to stability, overclocking potential, extra features and so on... But the motherboards i see a lot on other peoples builds are often in the €180 price range which seems a bit excessive to me. So, i'm asking you all: - What should i definitely look for when picking a motherboard around €100? - Can you recommend me any good ones in this price range? - Is it maybe worth going for a more expensive one considering i then have less to spend on a graphics card? Thanks in advance!

Having issues getting this motherboard to update its bios the internet auto updater keeps trying to download the zip file from the source and any/all attempts to do it manually result in the selected file is not a proper bios. I have reformatted my flash drive to fat32 multiple times and have tried using the zip, unzip, renamed, and original named forms of the file to no avail. Anyone willing to help me fix this. Also I put myself in this situation trying to run a ryzen 7 3700x on an x470board

Hey guys, I am new here and I need help chossing motherboard. Let me start with my current spec which will stright up go into my future planned uprgades. MSI 450 mortar max (in nzxt 510i) Ryzen 5 3600 (OCed to 4.2 all cores) - plan to go for 5800x or someting until i see reviews and prices EVGA CLC 280 Corsair vengeance pro 3600 16gb (OCed to 4000) - prolly go for extra 8gb pair in time aaand here we come to the current problem problem: 1 x Samsung 970 pro pcie 3 nvme 1tb + 1 kingston kc2000 1tb now the samsung one is in the first slot and it workes properly at 3500/3500, but the kingston one goes only 1500/1500 (cause of lanes on mortar max, i cant even do crossfire (with my rx580 - placeholder card untl nvda 30xx or the new navi ) with secont nvme populated) so i need a motherboard that will: - support future 12 core ryzen 5000 - 5800x or similar (and have some oc potential since evga clc gives great results) - have pcie gen 4 for future nvme upgrade + use my current nvmes to full potential (doesnt have any lane bottlenecks), so 3 nvme slots in total now, since i am not a pro pc builder etc, please pardon my mistakes or lack of knowledge, but i would need a recomendation on motherboard (middle range segment since i dont have more then 350-400 dollars max, was looking at budget x570, or maybe i need to wait for something that will come out that i hvae no idea about) So, cheers in advance

Hello everyone, I hope that you and your families are staying safe and healthy. So, I want to "upgrade" my old PC to be able to sustain or carry out some processes I happen to suffer from my current build. I am currently an engineering undergraduate, so I need a lot of computational power when it comes to AI, machine learning, 3D modeling and simulation, photo rendering, and some video editing. Also, I would like to play some games in my free time. I am not a hardcore gamer, but I try some new demanding games from time to time and play some online games as well. I am currently living in Egypt, and my budget in local currency is around 17,000 EGP which corresponds to almost $1100. My current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wFPLrr So I had this build as you can see since generation 3 in intel came out so it is pretty old. I had no VGA card at first, and then I updated my build with a GTX 1060 MSI Gaming X like 2 years ago with the extra 2TB hard drive. So, I have always been dealing with intel as my processor. However, when I got into engineering I figured that it would be way more efficient to have Ryzen as my processor for its higher multi-threading qualities. So, I would like to know which is better regarding what I need and if the new intel technologies got better in terms of multi-threading. My new build: First one with AMD Processor: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LpBYcT The second one with Intel Processor: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9xHLrr The only differences are just the motherboard and the processor. I would also want to know how big of loss when I get RAM memory of CAS Latency 16 compared to CAS latency 14 because in my country I only have the Trident Z and Ripjaws in CAS Latency 16 and Flare X in CAS Latency 14. The Trident Z has a cool RGB look which I would like to have, but the RGB wouldn't really matter that much if it will affect the performance by a considerate/visible amount. Also, is getting a RAM memory with 3600 MHz at CAS Latency of 16 or 18 better than RAM memory with 3200 MHz at CAS Latency of 14? I learnt that my PSU will present problems on modern PC build due to being old and group regulated. How much impact will my old PSU have and what are suggestions for getting a new one? Regarding the motherboard, would it be worth the money to get the TOMAHAWK version for the better VRMs? Finally, is there a considerable benefit from getting the Ryzen 3800XT instead of Ryzen 3800X? And, should I wait for the release of Ryzen 5800X which should be out in the coming week? I know that the X570 supports the Zen 3 of Ryzen, but I am worried about the cost of the processor since the benchmarks show that it will beat the intel core i9 10900K and also the time it would be available in my country because I would like to get the new upgrade before November by max. I am open to any suggestions/improvements you may have as well without increasing the budget considerably. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you so much for your patience and time for reading.

Hi everyone, My NVMe (CARDEA Ceramic C440 M.2 2280 1TB) was working fine since day 1, and now it doesn't even show. Came back from travel to check on PC (i keep it running all the time) and kept getting BSOD WHEA_Uncorrectable_Error. So i tried few changes in BIOS but with no luck, tried 2nd slot still same issue. then updated the BIOS to the latest build and still the same. then got me a new WD Blue 1TB 3D NAND and still same issue. My gut feeling, a windows update missed up some UFEI settings somehow. Motherboard: Asus X299 Prime Deluxe

Ok, so I have a ASUS Z-380-H Gaming Motherboard that I just got today. A intel i5-8400 CPU, 16gb of RAM (2400). GTX 1060 OC, Corsair RMX 650w. Upon receiving my motherboard today I set it all up with my components and I got a boot first time into bios. Excitedly I enable XMP, then I saved and rebooted only to get a constant big red cpu light on my motherboard with no display when I tried to boot up again. Here’s the catch, I thought to my self ‘this will be easy, a quick CMOS clear should do the trick’. I shorted the CMOS jumper switch and removed the battery and that did nothing. So I knew I had to get a bit more extreme. I unplugged all my PSU cables from my motherboard and and used 2 cable jumpers, one to go over the power pins and the other to go over the reset CMOS jumper switch. I also removed the battery and I left it for a good 15mins. I came back and the issue was still the same. After that I repeated what I just did but I removed every thing from the motherboard, (RAM, CPU, M.2 etc) but to no avail. Please help me

A while ago I bought a pc https://pcpartpicker.com/user/liamokeeffe/saved/m9H7XL and I built it. It worked for a little while, until I booted it three days after I built it and the boot LED's were on ( specifically the boot and VGA). SO, I turned the GPU in, got it back no change. I then talked to asus support( for my motherboard) and they said that the PCIE slots were broken. I sent it in, and got it back, nothing changed. SO, I sent it in again, and They said that there was nothing wrong with the board. I am totally confused, and have no idea how to proceed.

Hi , On last few days I´ve changed my power supply , my new power supply use flat cables that I´ve never used before because only have used 1 build of mine with the same PSU until few days ago ... maybe I am with a bit of anxiety because it´s a new power supply and I don´t to buy a new one again or maybe is because I have to stay home 24/7 because the COVID-19 pandemy , however I had to route my CPU cables under the GPU because the CPU cable was too short to get behind the case for the specific cut out for the cable ... it looks like on the photos , it is fine that way ? will be fine like that like at least for some years ?

This is my first ever pc build so please forgive me if I am making a noob mistake. I have just finished putting together my pc, and it managed to turn on. The fans work and the Front panel led is on. I connected it to my monitor through vga and i got no result on any source except alot of changing black and white pixels. I don't know if my motherboard has a bios installed and I haven't managed to install windows due to this problem. I have also tried the dvi cable on this monitor as well and got the same result. Is ths a problem with my monitor, motherboard or any other part. OR are there certain steps i must take to make it to the Bios.
