  1. Hey guys! So I recently decided to put my xbox 360 next to my Aoc AG24qx Monitor and use that monitor for the xbox. I connected it via HDMI and but the speakers on my monitor are awful!! So I connected other external speakers into the lime green audio jack but the monitor still uses the internal speakers! I can't find the right option to change that And to use the external speakers, but there has to be a way because there is a jack in the monitor. I tried monitor settings and xbox settings. Please help my sorry-ass out :'( PS: The xbox doesn't have an audio jack so i can't do it there!!

However a single DP 1.4 can support a full 8K60 using visually lossless compression. The monitor provides 33.2MP at 32" making it 280PPI. Out of the box calibration Shipping April 14th Damn that's a high resolution monitor. I'm sure it'll be a hit with the industry, I expect we won't see these kind of resolutions being common for another 4-5 years as 4K only now seems to be beginning to hit the mainstream. I can't imagine the benefit of 8K for any normal consumer at the moment, I can't even discern pixels on my 27" 4K monitor without being <20cm away.
  3. I am searching for a good deal on ~27inch 1440p IPS for under 350€ or 2160p for under 400€. What time in the year is the best to buy a monitor? How do i come about a "great deal"? PC Partpicker is not showing a many stores for EU region so it is really hard to track prices and "discounts" across stores Are there any monitor discounts scheduled this or next month? I have been thinking about forgoing an IPS requirement and pick Samsung S28E590D (28" TN at 4k for 350€) but since I basically spend 12h a day or more in front of my screen I change positions a lot and watch the monitor from many angles (mostly 30° off angle left to right and sometimes even in vertical) I'm unsure if it would still look good to watch a movie in such situations. Thank you for your time time and suggestions in advance.
  4. Hi guys! I recently finished paying off my student loans (yay!) and ended up getting a $4000 refund. Of course I'm going to use it to treat myself and build a new gaming/content creation rig. I work in media production so I can also claim this on taxes. Ha. Anyway, I'm looking to have a dual 4K display set up and need some help locating a good 4K monitor that has a small bezel. 24 inch minimum and a 27-28 inch maximum is where I'm at with desk space. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried searching the forums for related topics but was unable to find any. I originally had the LG 24UD58-B selected but after seeing some actual customer photos I realized it actually has a pretty large bezel that also extends out from the screen. You can see the rest of the build here. (Suggestions here are also welcome. )
  5. I just got a new monitor for photo editing and graphic design, plugged it into my 970 with a display port, switched both in the Nvidia settings to 10bpc and Photoshop settings to support 30bit, yet the test ramp file from this website still show banding. Any help? I google, and there are conflicting posts as to whether consumer grade cards support 10bit or only available on Quadro cards, or some not supporting OpenGL 10bit. What's the situation on how to get 10bit? Why are there so little resources on compatibility guides?
  6. Hello folks, I'm having a spot of trouble with a two monitor setup after installing a new graphics card. Both monitors worked perfectly on my old card (GTX 560 Ti) so I do not think they are broken. Upon initial installation of the graphics card I was a bit miffed at myself for not checking the I/O more carefully. The new card has DVI-D ports where as the old one had DVI-I ports. I used to use a passive connector on the old system and of course this did not and could not work with the new digital only system. I read around a bit and found out that you can buy an active converter to make this work 'apparently'. A thread on this forum was rather helpful (thanks @Glenwing): So I purchased a seemingly reputable converter in the hopes of smoothing out my problem. Much cheaper than buying a new monitor. I know my VGA only monitor is out of date but, in a word, money. My first monitor works fine via HDMI as expected but my second monitor does not (black screen; no input). The second monitor does appear to be detected even if it does not display anything. Windows shows two monitors in Run > desk.cpl, and I can see it in device manager (are these both remnants perhaps?). My setup: OS: Windows 10 Pro, Version 10.0.14393 Build 14393. Graphics card: GTX 1060 Gigabyte 6GB. Driver version 21.21.13.7653. Monitor 1: ASUS VN247H 23.6-inch Widescreen LED Multimedia Monitor (1920 x 1080, 1 ms, 2x HDMI, VGA, Full HD 1080p, Super Narrow Frame) Connection for monitor 1: HDMI output from card, HDMI input to screen. Monitor 2: Fujitsu Siemens AMILO LL 3220T. Connection for monitor 2: DVI-D output from card through an active converter for DVI-D to VGA, VGA input to screen. Amazon link for the converter: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-DVI-D-Female-Converter-Display/dp/B01G05RWPO/ I was hoping this would work 'out of the box'. Alas, it appears to not work. I found this thread, which seems to have the same problem but I am confused by the comments. @dewman45 seems to suggest that VGA just will not work with a 1060 but goes on to say that an active converter might work? My thoughts: No-go, too modern GPU with too old screen: RIP. Bad converter? Could work with a more involved converting system but at that point it's probably time to buy a new monitor. Does anyone have any input (haha) on my problem? Thanks in advance, Henduil
  7. I was wondering if a AMD A10 7890k can run a 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor. I'm giving my old LG curved ultrawide to my parents and I didn't know if the A10 can handle that resolution for everyday use and Facebook games.
  8. Several months back a buddy of mine gave me a couple of monitors. One of which was an HP w2338h 23 inch 1080p monitor, for free mind you! It worked flawlessly for a couple of months, until I tried to use an old rocketfish hdmi splitter on it. After plugging this inglorious little bastard in to my monitor, things were never again so great. Now the monitor has an odd little quirk where my raspberry pi can display fine over HDMI, but my PC and PS4 are an absolute no go. What's more is that this same issue occurs on another monitor that the splitter was used on. I've tried other HDMI cables, no luck. Just want my monitors to work again. Hoping I'm overlooking something here
  9. I need a budget-friendly recommendation for a 1080p monitor. Since I'm from Argentina, South America, I need you to recommend me something from this website (biggest online store here): http://computacion.mercadolibre.com.ar/monitores/monitor-1080p_OrderId_PRICE The prices are in ARS and I can't spend more than ARS3.000 (USD190). I'll appreciate every recommendation, ... P.S: If you have any question about the website/currency or anything like that, ask me.
  10. Hello I have just bought second hand iAdea XDS-2450 signboard. And I was wondering is there any possibility of using it as a PC monitor. I know that there is no HDMI or VGA input, but maybe it could be "hacked" somehow? Thanks for answers
  11. So I am deciding to buy a monitor to replace my old one but the store I am buying has 2 models as shown above, Asus MX279HR coat about ~270usd and the Asus MX279H cost ~250usd but is there a difference between the two or is the sales rep trying to rip me off.
  12. Yeah so I have 2 1080tis because why not and I want to upgrade my current monitors (1080p) to preferably 2-3 1440p or 4K ultrawides. Any suggestions?
  13. So I am trying to find a good monitor that is not over 200 dollars, mostly for gaming and streaming. Wishlist for specs: - IPS, LED, LED Backlight - 6ms or less response time - AMD FreeSync (This is optional though, but one of my wish list specs. Mostly because I have an AMD GPU.) - 22" inches to 24" inches. - Thin-ish bezels. (Please don't find one that is thicker than your mother.) - HDMI, DisplayPort Optional Specs: - DVI-D - 3.5mm audio jack input CANNOT have: - G-Sync - Speakers (If it does, then whatever. I just would like to not have them.)
  14. Hello, So i am about to get a new monitor and i am going around the 150Euro range. Two monitors caught my attention but they both seem to be the same, the Asus VS248HR at 149Euros and the Asus VP247H at 145Euros. The only difference i can see is that one is 23,6'' while the other is 24". So will it be the same thing if i go with the Asus VP247H instead of the VS248HR? Thank you for your time
  15. Hi So I currently have 2x GTX 1080's in SLI, and an acer x34A monitor. If I keep SLI enabled and play CSGO with GSYNC + Vsync turned on in NVCP (vsync off in game), then my game is butter smooth but I get noticeable input lag If I disable SLI, and play CSGO With Gsync + FastSync turned on (cant use fastsync when SLI is enabled), then my game runs fine with no noticeable input lag. Is there a way to use gsync + vsync etc but without the input lag? So that I dont have to keep enabling and disabling SLI? I just want my game to run tear and stutter free regardless of FPS, but without input lag
  16. Could you recommend me a budget Full HD monitor? I was thinking about something like a Samsung LS22D300F, but I don't know...

  18. So I'll have multiple questions and I'm not sure if it's graphics card, monitor or cable related so bear with meh. I've been using a BenQ XL2720Z with an MSI GTX 970 for over a year now. I bought a display port cable for it because I wasn't sure (still not sure to be honest, never tried anything else other than the display port) if the cable I got with the monitor would work with a 144hz refresh rate. Since there wasn't a single resolution with the 144hz option, I set up my own. Didn't do anything really, just went into the control panel and made a custom 1920x1080 res with 144 hz but changed nothing else there. First issue goes back to when I first plugged in the display port cable. Resolution is working, refresh rate is what it's supposed to be but sometimes when I start up my PC and turn on the monitor, I get a "no signal detected" message. A quick reset fixes the problem so I never really looked into it but due to other issues, and because I'm still having the same thing I figured I should ask about it at this point. Why is that? Any ideas? Is it normal with a display port or the monitor and graphics card I'm using? Second issue is a fresh one, happened an hour or two ago. First some backstory: I have a laptop that I'm using mainly for a Teamspeak server. It's half a laptop, meaning it's missing the monitor panel but otherwise working. We had a blackout, the spare monitor I was using with the laptop died so I took the laptop and plugged it into my main monitor(the BenQ) using a D-sub cable to restart the server and whatnot (Since the laptop is old as heeeeell) while I still had the display port cable connected to my graphics card, PC was running too. Figured I can swap between the two without restarting or turning anything off. I wasn't paying attention and for some reason instead of unplugging anything from the laptop, I unplugged the graphics card side of the dp cable. I was like eh, just gonna plug it back in. I did that, screen came back but it went into a much smaller aspect ratio with like a 1024x768 resolution. "I'll just re-select the resolution I was using" says I, but the control panel didn't show any other options apart from the first 2 maybe. Kinda like when it doesn't detect your video card I think. Quick restart and I had to re-select the "full" display mode on my monitor and I wanted to enable my original resolution but it disappeared along with all the other ones. I only had some default, factory resolutions set to 60hz max, nothing I could raise higher than that. I thought for some reason it reset something and I just have to make a new custom resolution. I did that and I kept getting "out of range" messages and it wouldn't revert back from the test of the new resolution (It would just go into a "no signal detected error and I would have to reset). I got scared that I broke my graphics card so I kept restarting but it wouldn't revert back from that 144hz resolution for some reason. After like 3 or 4 restarts and trying different things, I did a fresh install of the nvidia driver so that I can try again after it reset my resolution to the default. I did it again, and still wasn't working. Tried it again with 120hz, screen was flickering like it's being shocked by a taser(no sound, but the words were bouncing around, they looked like sound waves but still readable tho). No error message here so I could revert back to the original. 144hz was still not working. I pretty much gave up at this point and figured I will have to buy a new graphics card, or cable or both, I don't know. Did another restart so I could at least write this topic to see if you guys could help me, checked on the resolutions and all my original ones, along with the custom set 144hz resolution was there. I selected it and it's working now. I did nothing really, but it came back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So I guess my question is: Did I fuck something up? What fixed it? I shouldn't ever ever EVER plug two different cables into my monitor or accidentaly unplug the displayport cable from a graphics card while the PC is running? I'm not even sure it was working properly anymore, maybe I'm lucky and even tho I'm having this no signal detected error it still starts for some reason, but the cable or the monitor or my graphics card is a faulty one. I guess I should test the cable I got with the monitor to see how it works. It's a DVI-D I think? Says Dual Link on top. Can that handle 144 hz or if I want that I should definitely stick with display port? Yes, I can't keep my framerate above 140 in every game obviously so we could argue why do I need that high of a refresh rate. Mainly because it's a 144hz monitor but I'll also get a 1080 or 1080ti later when it's available here and it doesnt cost a fortune Any help ?

  20. First things first, I have no idea if I posted this in the right section, as to the fact that I didn't find a section for monitor overclocking. Like the title says, it's possible, if you dream big lol. This is IN CASE you didn't know/or was not posted here before. (didn't find anything) Intel has released their probably "last" driver for some certain CPU's, which has finally unlocked their EDID: If you have ANY of the above CPU, then congrats, because even if it's a laptop, you can start experimenting with your screen's refresh rate. And, if, and only if, by any chance you get the ITD working (doesn't work for everybody, even if it states it's compatible): https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26504/ It might also work for you. (In case your cpu isn't on the list above) Software & Instructions on how to use it are here: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! (It should be not be a big one, because I have a couple of ppl using custom high refresh rates, and it's been months and their fine.) Some proof: I've heard some masters of virginity on the internet forced a HP laptop to 180hz without frameskipping. But I think, this is also an achievement. Btw, I had no frameskipping, and absolutely no motion blur or ghosting. EDIT: Laptop model: Lenovo G50-80 EDIT2: If anyone needs some settings example, you can have a look on mine: I'am a software developer (C/C++/Javscript etc.) I'am not very familiar with some of these settings, because I don't know them, and not a monitor wizard. So if there is a wizard among us, you could give me some pointers on adjusting the settings, maybe I could pull more hz, who knows. And if anyone needs some help in their programming projects, or have some questions, feel free to PM me -Chris
  21. I'm looking to upgrade my monitor but i can't find an article with a solid suggestion. what would be a ideal size for 1080p. i'll be upgrading from a 21.5 tft monitor 60Hz. i like a 27 inch viotek but i'm hesitant on the purchase because it's a one time investment i desire to want to make, any suggestions would greatly help my stressed out mind. i appreciate it. budget is between $200-$300

  23. Hi So I'm looking to a new monitor that will show the true potential of my new gaming rig. I currently have a 24 inch 75hz monitor. I would like at least a 24 inch size screen. Should I get a 1080p 144hz or 1440p ??hz EDIT: Budget: £250-300 Can you recommend me anything? Thanks! CPU: i5-6600k + Hyper x212 EVO GPU: GeForce GTX 1070 RAM: Corsair Vengeance LED (8gb x2) MB: Asus 170-A Pro
  24. Hey guys! So i recently upgraded my whole computer... wait i mean i recently just built a completely over the top completely new computer. Major tech specs: Geforce GTX 1080ti Intel I7-7700K (OC'd to 5GHz) 16 Gig DDR4 RAM Major uses: I'm a photographer so the more detail i can get in my photo editing in Photoshop would be tremendous but not exactly necessary. A friend of mine does video was, as i have a much nicer computer, wondering if i could edit his 4k videos he shoots from his drone for weddings until he can get his rig setup or just go through me should things work right. lastly I game... like all the time. I'm not a graphic nazi and while i would like to see over 60hz to know what it's like it's not exactly a priority to me assuming that the reviews say the 1080ti can play 4k games comfortably. I understand 4k gaming at 144hz is an obscene thing to ask and not what i'm looking for but would like the best experience I can get for gaming that's also practical for photo/video editing. I've been reading through most of these threads trying to find answers but find that not many people have this high end of a build and i get that. I only recently decided to just futureproof and just spend the money and get a nice new comp to last me a long time. Let me start here by saying I've been using a Dual screen, 27" 1080p TV setup since I built my old PC with a 960. The futureproofing best-or-nothing side of me is thinking of waiting for the new HDR monitors to come out namely the ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ but the I-want-instant-gratification-for-buying-a-1080ti side of me thinks I should just buy one, maybe two, currently 4k monitor(s) instead of just one really nice HDR one assuming them to come out to 1.5k plus. While i do really enjoy dual monitoring i'm not completely opposed to going back to a single monitor in the case of a over the top one such as the PG27UQ should a 1080 one next to it just look terrible. Lastly: I'm looking for 27" monitors but might be ok with bigger but figure my better TV is 27" and would like to keep sizing the same assuming i don't buy dual monitors. Ok ok sorry if i'm dragging on now, Questions: 1) Would getting a nice 4k monitor and using a similar sized 1080p tv as a side monitor ruin the side monitor and make it just look terrible? (minus the fact of looking at 4k then looking at 1080 lol) or would it still be able to output 1080 cleanly while maintaining 4k on the other. 2) Would buying 2 4K monitors stress the 1080ti too much to a point of reduced performance? namely for say watching twitch on the side while playing a game(I like to do this a lot)? 3) Would getting a 4k monitor and playing 1440 games on it be terrible? I mostly want the 4k for photo/video editing but would love to play 4k games if also an option. IF it were possible to play 1440 on a 4k and get upwards of 100hz that would also be awesome. 4) Would having a 1440 monitor and editing 4k video be terrible? (not a video guy really but starting to look into it haha sorry) I assume it would be real bad. 5) Whats' the best futureproofing I can do per price? Edit: 6) Would Gsync on a 4k monitor be worthwhile? I know that the 1080ti can't exactly run 4k past 50frames really so I assume no but say if i WERE to play 1440 games on the 4k monitor and they were to possible go over 60fps would gsync be worth it then? Thank you for any advice in advance =)
  25. So ive just bought the Acer x34 monitor and I think im in love with it. But In the OSD there is an option labeled "ultrawide mode", with the two options being "aspect" or "1:1". Switching between the two turns the display off briefly and on again, as if it is rebooting. But other than that I cant seem to see any difference at all. Does anyone know what these options mean?
