Please read the entire post. About a year ago I've built a system with the following parts: - Intel Core i5-11400 CPU; - MSI B560M-A PRO mobo; - 24GB Crucial 2400MHz RAM, later maxed out to 64GB DDR4 2666MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM (this is important); - 500GB Kingston Fury Renegade M.2 PCIe Gen4x4 SSD; - AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card; - Corsair CS850M 850W Semi-Modular 850W 80 Plus Gold PSU (reused from my previous setup). Since the beginning I have noticed the motherboard behaved strangely, even when brand new, during the first few days of use, it would plain refuse to POST... This would fix itself with reseating everything... If I enabled the ERP ready power feature in the UEFI, the computer would take 3 to 5 seconds to power on after I pressed the power button, sometimes it would take longer. So I never enabled that option again. But the weirdest behavior started after I swapped the 24GB RAM for the Vengeance LPX 64GB kit. At first the motherboard only recognized one stick, had to switch them around to get the 64GB accessible. Everything then was fine, even the XMP profile got enabled automatically. But I noticed the mobo would take longer than usual to POST with the new RAM. Nothing major happened until last month... when I shut the display down and went to do something else...later I came back, GPU fans were on full blast and there was no video output to the monitor. I hard restarted the PC... the motherboard for some reason reset the RAM frequency from the rated 2666MHz to just 2133MHz. I then tried enabling XMP again twice, on both attempts the mobo reset the speed back to 2133MHz and gave me a textual warning that the RAM overclock was not stable. (This was, in fact , the first sign something was seriously wrong). But by the 3rd time it worked fine. I also noticed that sometimes on Linux, after a reboot, there would be no display output. Pressing Ctrl Alt Del always fixed it. There were no new major problems or crashes until the night of March 8. After running absolutely fine for the entirety of the day, while I was watching a YT video, the browser tab with the video literally crashed. "Gah. Your tab just crashed." -- At this point, the machine was minutes away from going to PC Heaven -- I didn't know that, and just shrugged the error away as a bug. Though I was still a bit worried because this was my first time seeing that message. 5 minutes later... the entire OS froze, a very loud static noise was heard on the speakers, and the audio from the video started repeating over and over like a broken record. The PC was completely unresponsive, I force restarted it as usual... but this time, it no longer came back. No POST, no USB, no nothing. The mobo will now get stuck on a boot loop alternating for 3 times between the red CPU debug LED and the orange DRAM one. Until it gives up trying to start and stops with the solid orange DRAM LED. My effectively brand new general use and workstation PC is now dead after a little more than 1 year. Is it financially viable to try and fix it or I might as well use the opportunity to upgrade to a newer platform (AM5 or LGA 1700 with DDR5) and also a brand spanking new higher quality PSU? I might even consider jumping to a prebuilt system like the Dell XPS 8960 or the Precision 3660 as I love Dell's reliability and quality.

My bank is such a headache when it comes to paying for things internationally since they often declines the payments, even though I have my card set to accept worldwide payments and also set to allow all internet purchases. Unfortunately, not all sites support PayPal. Didn’t LTT have a sponsor for generating virtual credit cards? Any ideas?

Budget (including currency): ~1700€ Country: Germany Other details: So Im about to buy the parts for my first pc build but I want to make sure i have the "right" parts. First of all: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk 3080 Fe 16GB Crucial Ballistix 3200Mhz 1TB Kingston A2000 850W be quiet! Straight Power 11 be quiet! Dark Rock 4 Fractal Design Meshify C I found a way to buy the 3080 Fe for the original price in my area and í will buy it at the end of this month (official drops from Nvidia on a website). But since the 3080 is kind of overkill i will upgreade some parts in the near future (for example the ram). I just want to know if all the parts "work good" together and if I need to watch out for anything. Im know everything i need to know for actually building the pc but im not really familiar with the hardware. Thank you in advance! (btw im 100% sure i can get the 3080 for the original price because I already tried it out 3 times and it worked and I only needed to click one button to buy it after the drop. But I didnt have the money yet so i didnt buy it)

Hello good people. I read about new Nvidia gpus so I would like your opinion. RTX 3070 or RTX 3060 ti? Both are selling with massive mark up in my country and really limited stocks. and just not to regret buying, when do you think the new gpus are coming out?

So today I had a magnific idea, it was what if we use computers and let them run youtube videos to generate money for youtubers? Well it doesn't require top hardware so its not that destructive, you can use old hardware then build it into a pc, install linux, go to youtube, create a reproduction list with 200 videos of LTT then activate the loop function and let it run. The last step its repeating with more PC's at the end you have a large money generator for the youtube channel you want. Hardware could be like some old core 2 duo with ssd. (Take this seriously not shitpost)

Disclaimers: I'm still learning. I can be wrong. This is not financial or legal advice, just me explaining what I've learned thus far. YMMV, but I'm not responsible for anything this knowledge is used for. All numbers are arbitrary, but somewhat realistic examples. It's confusing. I know. Tis life. I tried my best to explain it accurately. Concise is not something I do unless forced. So I've been learning stock trading basics for a while (terms, patterns, concepts, etc.), and I've been practicing along the way. Unfortunately, my program that I use resets sometimes (randomly) so I can't keep a running total of money lost/earned in this practice. Here is a picture of the program: Currently, I've lost 17% of my (paper, fake, monopoly) money, but this is a long play and I expected something different to happen (the huge dip in the DJIA was unexpected and threw me off). I should start making money Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of next week on this setup. To kind of help you read the above image, the top left is my totals. They give you $200,000 of paper money to invest, but $100,000 is for one type of trading and the other $100,000 is for the other type of trading. So it's more like I have $100,000 since I only trade with one half of it. Net Liq & Day Trades is what I use, and I don't "do" Day Trading. Right now anyway. I'm keeping an eye on Abbott and Tesla for reasons. I didn't straight up buy stock in either company. I purchased a Put for Abbott and a Call for Tesla. This means I make money if Tesla goes up and if Abbott goes down. Unfortunately, the opposite happened, so I lost like 30%, but it's reversing now. The bottom row of charts is the Weekly charts for Abbott, Tesla, & the Dow Jones Industrial Average (average of the an entire market's performance, not THE market, but A market). The top row is the daily chart for those things. But yeah. Still learning. I was really bummed out that the program reset on me. I had doubled my money on a stock going up $1 by selling Puts (literally, I had $100,000 worth of Puts and after I sold them, I had $200,000+). It was very lucky that the stock moved so strongly, but I knew it would go up. Options are Calls & Puts (There may be more, but I've only learned about these). The easiest analogy I've found to understand them is thus: Calls are Coupons on a stock price. i.e. If I buy a call for TSLA (Tesla) at $250, I have a coupon giving me the right to buy TSLA's stock at $250, no matter what the price currently is. Puts are Price Guarantees on a stock price. i.e. If I buy a put for TSLA at $250, I have a price guarantee that I can sell TSLA's stock at $250, no matter what the price currently is. So Calls are for buying stock, and Puts are for selling stock. If you are wondering how they make money doing that, if I buy a Call for TSLA at $250, but their current Stock Price is $255.50, I will pay $5.50 per Call. Then I will pay $250 per share of stock. So they still get the full price, at the time I purchased the Call, of the stock. However, Calls & Puts can expire. Just like normal Coupons and Price Guarantees. If I buy either of them, but I never buy or sell the stock, I lost money, but not a lot of money (what is $5.50?) That's one way the companies themselves make money on Options. What a Call & Put give you is time. If you think a stock is going up, you can buy a Call (Coupon) to buy that stock at, say $250, but then wait until it hits $300 to buy it at $250. So you know for a fact you are going to profit. Or you can let the Call expire because the stock dropped to $200 and you were wrong about it going up. So buying it at $250 would be stupid as it's currently $200. Options are just that. Options. They buy you time to think about whether you want to buy/sell the stock or not. Just for reference, here is how you make money buying & selling options (Calls & Puts): Buy Calls = You make money if the stock goes up - Because you have a coupon that says you can buy the stock at $250, if the stock goes to $300, you buy it cheaper than it currently is, then sell it for a profit. Buy Puts = You make money if the stock goes down - Because you have a price guarantee that says you can sell the stock at $250, if the stock goes to $200, you can sell it for more than it currently is. Sell Calls = You make money if the stock goes down - I'm still trying to understand why and how this works. It's complicated because you are selling someone else or a company the right to sell stock to you at $250 or wtv. Sell Puts = You make money if the stock goes up - I'm still trying to understand why and how this works. It's complicated because you are selling someone else or a company the right to buy stock from you at $250 or wtv. What each scenario does is it basically decides how much money you can profit or lose in the trade. i.e. if I sell a Put, my maximum profit is capped at 100% (double my money), but my maximum loss is infinite (I lose all of my money). However, the reason you would want to sell a Put is because you sold something. You immediately get paid for it, but the amount is small. And it's very likely you will profit, and very unlikely you will lose all your money. These are the things to consider when doing a trade with options: Profit potential (i.e. max profit is 100%, infinite, or what-have-you) Loss Potential (i.e. 100% AKA infinite, or what-have-you) Probability of both of those happening (i.e. odds of profit vs odds of loss) Each of those choices above (Buy Calls, Buy Puts, Sell Calls & Sell Puts) have different values for how much you can earn/lose and what the odds of each thing happening are. That's generally what I've learned so far. This is just practice mode, I'll give an update when I move to real money mode.

It's sad to say I won't be able to go to California to visit a friend for her birthday. Looks like I'll only b 60 dollars short for her gift, which I won't be able to give personally... On the other side, I'll be back on the market for a GPU. I do kinda feel bad now that I won't be able to use the money to go see her. It's really kinda of a struggle when you have money and don't know what to spend it on since you at are a crossroads. Any one else who has had these situations before>

Is the max ram speed based on mobo or CPU's clock? Motherboard is the “GIGABYTE X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING” an AMD AM4 board. Currently, use a 2700X, but plan to upgrade to 5800X/5800X3D or even Ryzen 9 5950X. I am using a 3060 ti video card. Therefore, what is the max speed ram I can buy, that's compatible, with this motherboard?

Hello, I make cover song music videos on my YouTube channel where I play all the instruments and also sing. You used to have to use We Are The Hits (WATH) in order to be able to make money from ads on your YouTube video cover of a song, but since WATH no longer responds to emails and have a lot of outdated information on their website I wonder if it is possible nowadays to directly via YouTube split the earnings with the original artist/songwriter so both me and the original artist/songwriter makes money by splitting the revenue earned from ads/views on my cover music video? Best Regards, Filip

So I want to build my first PC and I have money saved up, but the money saved is for college, and I want to get enough money so I can build my own pc for around 500-600 dollars, I already have a monitor, and I just need to get windows 8 or 10 which isn't that expensive. So then that just leaves the PC, mouse and key board. So does anyone have a good idea on how to make money for a new PC in maybe 2 to 3 months? PROSTITUTION IS NOT A OPTION

Hey guys and girls! iv been doing some of my own research and I'm struggling to come to a conclusion about what gaming laptop to buy. This laptop will last me until i can scrape up enough money to build my Desktop PC. the main reason that i want a laptop now to game on and do pretty much everything on is that, its the only thing i have room for until i make building modifications to my room. now price is not an issue for me but i play league of legends. this is the only game that will run on this thing i call a laptop that i own currently. i want to play AAA games and new titles that are coming out soon and i want to play with the best performance i can muster. as this laptop will be used for guests when i eventually build my Desktop PC. so any suggestions as to the best gaming laptop 2017? Cheers, Callum

How to afford expensive pc?
-
So basically i need a new laptop, a gaming one. And I've been thinking about which price tag it should be. I play games such as cs go, overwatch, rocket league though i know they are not very demanding i'd like to be able to play high end games too. I am just a student so i don't want to spend money i don't need to. I know a desktop would be better but i need the portability to move between my parents homes. But do i need to spend 1600 euro on a laptop? That since parts are not replaceable will probably be outdated in ~3 years? Or should is stick to a ~1400 euro laptop ? The 1400 has a little bottleneck but the 1600 is well balanced and i'm sure it'll have better performance but idk if it's worth. PS I decided to go for one that costs 1600, since if i'm going to spend 3 years using only my laptop i might as well get a good one which will serve me well instead of getting one and complaining about the horrible decision i made of buying a laptop with a bottleneck

Hello, LTT! So just recently ive come up on the stock market. I am 19 years, old on the way to 20 in a month, and I would like to know how this all works. I have watched hours and hours of YouTube videos on how to start investing/trading but they are either very vague or trying to make me buy there services. Does anyone know the trick to start or at least have some idea on who is trusted and some tips to get going. Thanks!

I payed for my PC by reselling but I want to know if anyone here has any better tips on how to do it. Do you have any other sites besides amazon or ebay? Do you go the Alibaba way and if so what is your style? You get the point. Let's share some money making techniques so we can all upgrade our rigs with the upcoming hardware in 2017.

My budget is 250-300 dollars, I would like to go as cheap as possible but I don't want to sacrafice performance. I don't care about Intel or Amd, I just want it to be better than my phenom 955. I also forgot to mention that i have th Asus Rx 470. Sorry if the spelling is not correct, I'm from The Balkans

You hear of those super-duper offers to earn money online all the time. It's actually really easy to find websites that offer that kind of thing but every time I research it further it turns out that it's a scam or at least may be a scam. So here's the question: is there an actual, honest way to earn money online by doing something simple like completing surveys, testing stuff etc, or is it all just snake oil? I don't mean big bucks. I mean something that would just allow me to earn beer money by utilizing the time I normally waste procrastinating.
