Here are the ones listed from Apple's doc: AMD Radeon RX 560 AMD Radeon RX 570 AMD Radeon RX 580 AMD Radeon Pro WX 7100 AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 AMD Radeon Pro WX 9100 AMD Radeon Frontier Edition Will they all work fine with Metal? There was a section that specifies a specific model, but I wonder if anything changed in the last decade I'm helping a co-worker due to Teradici (PcoIP) version 20.04 not working on his Mac Pro running on High Sierra.

Hi, While looking into apple website for mojave os they have mentioned it is free to download. My perception is that whether i can download "Mojave" as image file and installing it in windows 10 through VM is it possible. Since the OS price is free of cost mentioned in Apple website but it is only possible to download and update through apple devices only. If i can download it other than apple devices tell me the way to download Mojave. Thanks Dupi

What are the advantages and disadvantages of Ubuntu, Windows 10, and MacOS? Preferably the latest versions. Also what unique features makes them special? What technology/ies? Why others have only 1 or more OSes? I'm just wondering, I hope I get answers from an experienced users, or maybe you could elaborate your experiences. Thanks!

Hello there ! [Talking about MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013- 2,6 GHz Intel Core i7- Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5] First time here but few months watching LTT on YouTube, now, I really need your help. First things first, what the problem ? My MacBook Pro, few months ago started to crash randomly, like once a month. I thought at the time that it could be the battery, but even when plug-in, crashes happened. Now the crashes happens extremely often : like every 5 minutes. Because I am not an Anthony, I let my MBP on the "expert" hands of iStack (Official Apple at Orléans, France). After 2 weeks of tests they said "Motherboard has a problem, needs to be replaced : 800 euros". My wallet made me understand the truth : we cannot change it, so it is not the motherboard. (Beside the fact that i am broke, I heard a lot of shitty things about iStack which made me question their diagnosis) After a complete erased of my Apple intern SSD, I re-installed Mojave from scratch. Those are the System logs I have just before the crashes happen : Number 1 : https://pastebin.com/6k4byFRp Number 2 : https://pastebin.com/wk1svJGP I have tried Memory cleaner app, and fan controllers app but I don't think these will help anyway. After few research I found someone with the same problem : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7683355 But it was posted 3 years ago, I don't think I will be able to get information from him. (And yeah btw, I already tried to reset the PRAM and the SMC). Anthony-s I need your help ! If you need more informations, logs and stuff, do not hesitate. I am available. PS : Do not forget that I am French, so avoid extreme complicate sentences. Would be appreciated. - And be nice with my English (even if you are welcome to correct me) Love you.

Alright so I've been eager to get into macOS so I installed a VM on my Win7 laptop and now I wish to dual boot it with Mojave. I am not gonna be using win10 as its updates are uncontrollable and it doesn't run well on my laptop anyway. I am gonna be using the same disk with different partitions. I went on to download macOS Mojave from the App Store to create a bootable USB but ended up using the macOS Mojave patcher to create one. Its formatted as macOS extended journaled but oooopsiees I didn't knew about Clover at the time. Now I am wondering if I can "squeeze" in Clover into the hence created bootable Mojave USB so I could save my 3 hours that went into it. P.S Don't worry about my EFI partition cuz for some odd reason windows created it to be of 300MB lmao and I can follow with some tinkering and terminal shiz. Have a look at my partition layout and my awesome Snipping Tool skillz.

Hey everyone, firstly apologies if this is covered somewhere or in the wrong category, this is my first ever post on the forum. Joined literally minutes ago! Secondly, straight to the point: I've been struggling to install MacOS Mojave on my client's Macbook. I've tried all sorts of things but to no avail. The macbook is super outdated (running MacOS X Lion 10.7.5). I tried using their website, the appstore and even making a bootable usb on windows since I couldn't get the download to work on the mac (it's so outdated?). I've watched multipe videos on how to make the bootable USB and how to do fresh installs but the videos are simply not thorough enough for a beginner macOS user like myself (first time I've ever had to work on a mac!). Maybe I'm just not following the instructions well enough. Please if anyone can direct me to a good tutorial website/video or help me directly, I would greatly appreciate it!!!

I recently took my Late 2012 Mac Mini containing a Crucial 240gb SSD and a WD Slim 1tb HDD and formatted them both as one Fusion drive. I then reinstalled macOS Sierra (10.12.6), then downloaded and ran the Mojave upgrade (10.14.2). I've been told that Mojave is the first OS to support fusion drives on APFS. The upgrade completed but I am noticing some MAJOR problems. There are times where Finder will lock up on startup for about 20 minutes. Deleting the com.apple.Finder.plist file in /Library/Preferences and rebooting seems to have fixed that. Keyboard input is also erratic and will ignore some keystrokes entirely (using a Logitech K750), something that NEVER happened on 10.12. There were several occasions when Logic Pro X would crash and then macOS would throw an error upon trying to open it again saying "This application is not compatible with your computer". The same thing happens with Firefox and Safari, a native macOS app! Rebooting fixes these issues temporarily. I'm aware Mojave does not support 32-bit apps but none of these applications are. This past evening, when leaving the machine idle, upon returning home, I find that it has auto-rebooted and launched the drive selection screen, without anybody present to hold down the Option key. I have yet to run hardware diagnostics or boot into Safe Mode. I can post those results when I have them. Do any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone and is there really anything I can do given my hardware (specs posted below)? I would really like to keep this fusion drive setup for the storage and ease of use but I don't know if sticking with Mojave (and by extension, APFS) is worth it. My data is backed up and I have no issues reformatting the drive with HFS+ and reinstalling 10.12 if that's the best thing to do. Does anybody have any insight into the advantages of APFS on fusion drives and whether or not I should even TRY making this work? Mac users were given a Dark Mode in macOS Mojave which Apple showed off at WWDC 2018 This feature was previously limited to system applications. Now however, Apple has expanded Dark Modes reach to include websites in macOS Mojave 10.14.4 Beta This feature can be enabled by going to the "Develop > Experimental Features > Dark Mode CSS Support This feature does depend entirely on the developers of websites to enable Dark Mode CSS support to their sites. The Safari Technology Preview is also another way to test this feature, rather than installing a beta OS. With Apple's new macOS release, Mojave, users have found that they're unable to hide or remove annoying apps like News, Stocks, Home, etc. It's likely the kernel that's preventing you from doing so. However, a friend and I determined a workaround and documented it on GitHub. Importantly, our solution does not require one to disable SIP, which is a big plug. Also, if Apple decides to block this workaround, one can boot from a live usb of a previous macOS release that can read APFS drives, such as High Sierra. We didn't document that contingency, but it's a fun option if needed. I figured I'd add this here as I've seen no existing solutions and it's likely something that people will be searching for given the official release. Happy hacking! PS: Screw you, Apple.

Early this month, I got my MBP2018 13" base model, which after 4 days, already has USB ports not working, so I got it replaced the same day. So, the 2nd macbook, after getting it, I had it updated to Mojave the next day. Installed apps like Chrome and VSCode. Then while browsing, I noticed the screen flickers randomly, using Chrome or Safari. I searched for the possible problems and solutions, so I tried resetting SMC and NVRAM, both didn't fixed the problem. Tried installing Mojave Beta 3, hoping it will be fixed there, but no luck. Tried rolling back to High Sierra, same issue. So, reinstalled Mojave... from there I setup bootcamp for Windows10. And for some reason, it NEVER flickers on bootcamp! ? Another thing I notice, while watching videos from Netflix or Youtube, the flickers never happens, but when I pause it or the video stopped, after few minutes or even seconds sometimes, the flicker goes back. The flickers are not that bad at all, it's like when you blink your eyes, it's tolerable, but for a machine this expensive, I'm expecting a more smooth experience. What do you think of this problem? Driver or OS issues? Any feedback will be appreciated, thanks! Update: Added screen shots from video recording. notice that even the dock flickered. Update 2: So aside from bootcamp, the flicker also doesn't happen on Safe Mode or Recovery Mode. Apple Diagnostics also doesn't found any problem Update Nov11: Just an update, the store replaced the display, and so far... no flickers.

Update: Upon independent investigation by Users on the Apple Support Communities, using MacOS Extended Journaled Case Sensitive for your backup drive appears to fix the issue. Time Machine creates incremental backups of files that can be restored at a later date. It allows the user to restore the whole system or specific files from the Recovery partition or other macOS recovery environment. Time Machine is an incredibly important software of macOS. It has saved countless people who otherwise would have be SoL from data loss, theft, malware/ransom ware, and all other situations where a user might have lost their data. Since the release of Mojave however, over 69 users (80+ now) have reported that Time Machine is unable to complete a backup. I and may other users have been experiencing a similar issue, and assuming that Mojave did not magically kill over 80 drives, Mojave is the common factor. Seemingly over night people have been unable to make backups, obviously a big problem for anyone serious about computing. namuang26 on the Apple Support Communities made a thread where [he] described an issue very similar to my own: Another user by the name of sjordi made a discovery that could potentially be the cause of Time Machines issues: According to the above statement, it would appear that Time Machine no longer stores its work data in the Shared/adi folder and has instead elected to use a different location. As Time Machine attempts to make a backup of the users computer, that work file increases in size and Time Machine attempts to back it up, cascading until there is no more room left for Time Machine to make a backup, causing the process to fail. I can also back this statement up seeing as the folder does not appear to be increase in size during the backup, which it should be doing under normal operation. I reached out to Apple and spoke with a Senior Tech to provide a statement. My Technician, Colin, was very helpful and ensured that these concerns would be looked at by Apples engineers. He also helped try and isolate the issue by having me run their CaptureData.app to log for errors during an attempted Time Machine backup. I was told to upload the relevant info (the logs and a screen shot of the error) so the Engineers could take a look and then he would reach out to me to follow up and tell me what the Engineers had to say. However upon following up with them later in the week, I was informed that their recommendation was to remove 3rd part programs that might be causing issues. Not an admission that macOS Mojave had a bug or that this is an error on Apples end, which at this point it clearly is. I was told to remove programs like HyperDock, Transmission, and HPs easy scan utility for "testing purposes" and was told that these recommendations do not mean that these apps are at fault. I was also told to install Malewarebytes and run a scan to ensure that the computer had not been infected with anything that could be preventing Time Machine from making a backup. Of Course after running the scan my system is clean. further removal of these apps did not resolve the problem. It would appear to me that the Engineers did not look through my error logs and simply did not bother to investigate this very serious problem simply because there were a few 3rd party apps that have never causes issues for me before installed on my machine. Because of this I am extremely disappointed with the customer service and the importance of user feedback. However please do not blame the representative that I spoke to. Colin was an amazing rep, the blame goes to Apples "Engineers" unwilling to take a hard look at the issues facing Apples customers. Apple has currently not publicly acknowledged that this issue exists. However they have seeded a beta for macOS 10.14.1, but there is no mention of Time Machine in this beta. I have reached out to Apple on Twitter to provide a statement. I will update this thread as more information becomes available. I have a problem with running OS X Mojave on Virtualbox with a Zen 2 CPU. I'm certain I've once run a macOS VM (although not Mojave) on this CPU, but can't get it to work again. Using the classic - VBoxManage modifyvm "machine" --cpu-profile "Intel Core i7–6700K" makes Virtualbox give the Critical Error. Running the VM without this command just makes it hang at End RandomSeed. Does anyone have a solution, or is running Mojave under Virutalbox on Zen 2 a lost cause? I'd quite like to keep the image vanilla, to know it's not compromised. The image I use is created on my MacBook and it boots fine on the Mac just not when I transfer it.

macOS Mojave Well I have installed the beta for Mojave and wow it is impressive on my MacBook 12 inch, however learning that my iMac 27 inch, late 2011, is no longer supported I am slightly disgruntled. Does anyone else think that they have made too many devices redundant with the new software? Jack

Hello, so I install new MacOS Mojave on my MacBook Pro (did not do a clean install, upgraded from high Sierra) but app store doesn't work. I couldn't find anything online on how to fix it, and I cannot even look for update without it. Since there is no official support for Mojave yet from Apple, I am hoping someone here can help. I am attaching full crash report with system statistics here. Also here are screenshots of how error looks: it cannot connect and then gives a crash. Hopefully, someone here will be able to help with idea on what to do, I know I am an idiot upgrading laptop I work on to Beta software but hell, curiosity got better of me. Any ideas are welcome, a just clean reinstall is out of the question ( I have nowhere to put files at this time and I cannot lose them) . Thank you a lot for the help

I use a mobile SSD installing Windows To Go as my mobile workspace. EFI boot works fine on many computers. Booting it on my Macbook also works fine until the installation of mac OS Mojave 10.14 Developer Beta2. After that installation, I can still see "EFI Disk" while holding Option key during boot. But after select that, it just keep booting into macOS. I tried rebuilding EFI firmware, reinstall WTG but not working either. Select boot disk manually in Settings shows an error message "Bless tool cannot set the boot drive". I search for that issue and I found this discussion:https://www.zhihu.com/question/282032748 (In Chinese) Someone says that their Bootcamp Windows and Time Machine Disk cannot boot either in the Option menu. Someone even says that after wiping their Mac and reinstall OS X 10.12, WTG still not bootable. If that's true, I think maybe Apple changed their SMC's firmware to prevent(?) third-party EFI systems from booting. I relied on WTG to get rid of Office for Mac's low performance while handling huge files. This issue is really annoying. I have the same concern as the question's holder on Zhihu: "I don't konw if it's a BUG or a Feature."

As the title suggests, anyone had a reason (or desire) to downgrade / dual boot to High Sierra? I work from home a lot myself and use MacBooks to conduct my work. After Apple upgraded the plugin security requirements in Safari 12, and as a result busted the Citrix plugin In a nutshell even with the latest Citrix Receiver (workspace) client, you can't launch certain Citrix sessions in the native client on Safari 12 / Mojave https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2018/08/03/npapi-support-is-being-removed-from-safari-12/ Basically I had to install High Sierra on my machines as a workaround for this and prevent automatic updates so the browser version was kept at 11 But back on topic, again... does anyone else have a requirement / need / desire to keep running High Sierra?
