Budget (including currency): below 65000 rupees Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Revit, CAD software Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Building from scratch. I am trying to build a PC for my friend, he needs it for running CAD applications. I have selected the components but i need an opinions on the build. Here's the list, CPU: Ryzen 5 2600x MOBO: ASUS TUF B450-Plus RAM: 16 GB GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GT 710 2GB(GV-N710D3-2GL) PSU: Cooler Master MWE 550W,80+ White 230V A/UK Cable Power Supply Cabinet: Deepcool Matrexx 55 Mesh ADD-RGB 4F Middle Tower Computer Case (DP-ATX-MATREXX55-MESH-AR-4F) HDD: WD Blue 1TB SSD: Samsung EVO 860 250GB Monitor: Dell 21.5 inch I thought of looking at 3500 or 3500x but i heard that Revit depends on multi threading and I thought the more cores the better do I have gone for 2600x.(2600x costs more than 3500x as of now).

Budget (including currency): $1,500-$2,500 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Zbrush, Photoshop, Blender, Twitch streams Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi all, I'm moving from the world of laptops to the world of more powerful desktop computers, and while I understand design software I know next to nothing about tech specs and hardware. I plan to be using Zbrush, Photoshop and Blender for my work, and streaming on Twitch and Youtube simultaneously. I know Zbrush is CPU based so I'm looking to get a high end but not highest CPU. I know AMD is releasing Zen 3 very soon and I'm considering the second highest 12-core CPU, but put in a high-end Zen 2 for now as a placeholder. From what I can tell it looks like it's worth waiting for the Zen 3 upgrade. I probably need a decent GPU for streaming? But I don't need crazy good refresh rates as a game streamer would. Refresh rates for rendering 3d images and digital art might play a role though. I am trying to avoid liquid cooling fans (I don't want to risk even the 0.01% leak chance), but I am also looking for as much full-spectrum RGB as possible (artist brand, lol). I have a few parts picked out but not the whole computer, and the chassis is still flexible (big fan of the starry front panel, not sure how I feel that the whole thing is backwards, and no USB-C is a turnoff) I am completely lost in terms of motherboard, GPU, and anything else I'm missing, and would really appreciate some help, thank you in advance! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2KRP3Z

Whenever I look up whether multi gpu rigs are worth it, almost all results are about gaming. I know that having more than 1 gpu isn't super practical for games, but I want to know if it will make any difference when doing non-games stuff, like modeling or rendering in programs like maya. If there is some advantage to having 2 gpus, would it matter if they are in sli/eyefinity or not linked and just act like 2 seperate cards? I ask because I tend to rely on my gpu for most of the work (both in viewport and rendering), and my projects tend to be pretty big.

Hello, I am in the market for a new laptop that would be very capable of financial modeling. I will be doing most of the work through excel and possibly some other programs. I have heard that the thinkpad's are the best bet for their price. It needs to be around a 15" screen as well as have the page up and down keys around the arrow keys. If possible, my budget is between $500-$1200. Do you all have any recommendations? Thank you for all the help!!

hardware Hardware for 3D modeling and render
jorgen posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I'll getting a pc built for 3D modeling and rendering and I wonder what I need of hardware? What is most important, cpu, gpu, ram, ssd, hdd, what and how much The biggest problem is to navigate in big 3D models. Render time, and the time it takes for the render application to start is long in big 3D models. The programs wer mostly use at work is Archicad, Vray and Skechup Pro I have read that Vray render with cpu. what is the point of buying a good graphics card then? -
Recently I noticed my system has not been running how I would have originally expected. When running AutoCAD Inventor, the renderings for 3D models and stress analysis were really slow at an uncommon level. When gaming I have also seen a low proformance in games like COD and Hellblade. I noticed the CPU would run at 800mhz but would not budge more than 25mhz up or down. Knowing the CPU should be 4.0ghz makes this frustrating. Any ideas what what could be my problem?

Hi, I would like to learn how to 3D model for 3D printing. I have always wanted to print something that I have made. Unfortunately, I am absolutely clueless in this area. I am asking for help finding a program that is intuitive and easy(ish) for beginners to learn. Also, I am taking this up as a hobby and I would prefer to not spend any money on this until I am confident in my abilities. So, I would very much appreciate a free program that I can play around with for the time being. Thank you, JT

Hi! First of all, for my computer, I've had it for 4 years, it's a Asus z170-a MB, 6700K OCed to 4.5Ghz (1.325V since it's not stable at any lower voltage) and an Asus GTX 970 OC, 32GB RAM @2400Mhz. So, recently my Autodesk 3DsMax started to stuter a lot, not really when my poly count is high, more link when I rotate my camera around the objects and what not. I started thinking about upgrading my GPU to improve my viewport performance and to start getting into GPU rendering. The thing I noticed today is that my poor GTX970 is running at a very low temperature,50-60max, and it's not even doing any effort! So, it's not the GPU. Let alone the CPU, which is running at 30-40º... Do you guys have any ideia what might be wrong with my computer, what might not be working as intended or what I could upgrade to get rid of this ANNOYING stuttering? Thank you in advance!

build 3D modeling and gaming PC 1080p ultra 100fps+
Kideth posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hello everyone, Greetings from Colombia, I'm looking to build a PC for two main purposes. One is for 3D modeling and rendering and the second one and really important one is for gaming. I have 2000 USD for the entire thing (screen, peripherals, etc). What I'm looking for in regards of the rendering and 3D modeling part is for it to be able to run with ease software like maya, blender, etc. As for the gaming part I'm not looking for 1440p just the good old 1080p and to be able to run every game you throw at it ultra 60fps+.. hopefully 100fps+ with a 144hz refresh rate screen. That is basically it. Thank you for your kind help. -
Hey guys, I'll try to keep this short. Because I am not completely familiar with this specific area of purpose built workstations I'm looking for some recommendations for a workstations PC build for a friend, that's going to be working mainly in programs such as SolidWorks. So far I was thinking about something like this: CPU: Something like the Intel Core i7-10700K OR AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - AMD is cheaper, but Intel prob has better single core performance, which is what you want specifically for SolidWorks.. AMD might be best for overall PC performance (plus the boards are cheaper) CPU Cooler: stock RAM: Probably going to go for 2 x 8GB (for now) DDR4-3200MHz+, can upgrade later Motherboard: A nice B450/B550 board OR similar Intel supported board Video Card: P1000 OR P2000 Storage: Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2 NVME Solid State Drive - can't go wrong with that Case: something like the NZXT H510 Power Supply: need a little help with choosing decent low wattage PSU's I am kindly asking for some advice! Thank you in advance.

Budget (including currency): 2000$ +/- Country: Poland (I know, but still give advices based on your country if you see fit) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: PC for gaming, 3d software (blender, zbrush) and game engines, laptop for ocassional 3d work, bringing to college, light work on go Other details: Okay, here is the thing. I want to build a PC + Laptop setup that will last me for the next 3-5 years. I want my PC to be responsible for most of the heavy work, I already have all the peripherals so I just need PC itself. I'd love for it to be packed in a relatively small case, other than that I'm looking for total advice as to what to buy since I'm not a tech wizard. I'd love my laptop to be ready for daily travelling, doing notes during classes and ocassionally modeling something or similar task. I'm opting for a small screen, up to 14 inches max. Long battery life with still some power to offer. Hope you guys can help me as this is a really confusing shopping time for me

Since joining my new Job and getting a permanent contract I am looking to replace my current 5,5 - 6 Year old laptop (MSI - 2,4ghz - Nvidia 750m) with a Desktop that can last me a few years. As hardware is not my strong suit any eventual build would be constructed by the Hardware department at work who have graciously offered their skills, when not on assignment. Based on reading around the forums, online and general conversations at work I managed to come up with the following: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/TsyLpG Most uncertain parts for me are the Cooler and the Case, any tips or recommendations regarding parts or compatibility are most welcome. 1. Budget & Location €1700-1800 Ireland (seemingly Amazon UK seems to the be best, store prices in Ireland seem 20-30% higher compared to any mainland country) 2. Aim Gaming, game development including rendering, QA and Localization (processing large text files and databases containing up to 15 languages). In my free time I help with the development of a realistic Space Dog fighter, due to the laptop limitations I rely on other members to do the rendering and implementation and am mostly stuck taking care of database management (Bug & Text, while important I can offer more help with a better machine). 3. Monitors & 4. Peripherals One 144hz - 1440p One 60hz - 1080p Keyboard and Mouse already provided Windows 10 5. Why are you upgrading? N/A new build to replace old laptop Thank you in advance, Victor

Hello all! I am building a 3ds Max workstation and I am close to the end of my component research, but since it has been about 3 years since my last workstation build and this is quite new CPU I would really appreciate any expert advice, suggestion and help on components I have chosen/narrowed down. Motherboard: ASUS PRIME X399-A Not planning to overclock for now (maybe some tweaks later) and don't really need any extra features more than this board has to offer. Except for the price, extra features and better overclocking ability does it make sense to pick the ASUS PRIME X399-A over ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme?? CPU: Threadripper 2990wx Need to speed-up my renderings by 3x-4x due to the increase of work and shorter deadlines. = More sleep! RAM: 64GB should be enough for now, extra 64GB later. The problem is the compatible RAM with this CPU I can get here! So, my best choices are the kits below. or 1x G.SKILL 64GB Ripjaws V DDR4 2800MHz CL14 KIT F4-2800C14Q-64GVK -Currently out of the stock, for the second time this week, not sure why, but this was my first memory choice as an only 64GB kit I could get. or 2x G.SKILL 32GB Ripjaws V DDR4 3000MHz CL15 KIT F4-3000C15D-32GVR -Available but not sure is better to get kit of 4 sticks (the one above) or two kits of 2 sticks? Does it even matter performance wise? or 2x CORSAIR 32GB Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz CL15 KIT CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 or 2x CORSAIR 32GB Dominator Platinum 3000MHz CL15 KIT CMD32GX4M2B3000C15 or 2x G.SKILL 32GB Trident Z RGB DDR4 3200MHz CL14 KIT F4-3200C14Q-32GTZR -It will take all 8 RAM slots, no room for upgrade, very expensive and not planning to look at glowing RAM while working -still searching for other 64GB kit options... PSU: EVGA P2 850W https://outervision.com/b/1JG7jS from this calculator with this PSU I will have room for some small overclocking (tweaks) and future upgrades and from reviews I have read, it is a very good PSU. GPU: Some GTX 1060 6GB with at least 2x DP will be enough for my needs. Any recommendations are welcome! CPU COOLER: NOCTUA NH-U14S TR4-SP3 Not a fan of water cooling and this one seems to work the best for an air cooler. It is little ugly, but they know how to make an effective cooler! Would like to get Wraith Ripper, but still not available. M.2: SAMSUNG 512GB 970 PRO M.2 PCIe M.2 2280 MZ-V7P512BW Faster one I could find and a good price. Need about 300GB for installations. PC CASE: Corsair Air 540 Really like the little piggy Great dual chamber and air flow, extended ATX compatible. Probably will get some extra filters and fans for the second chamber with drives and cables. 2x Storage Disks from old pc The only game I play is CS:S for about 2h per week (to blow off some steam), but other than that, this will be a workstation. All the help or suggestions are welcome!

Article from The Register claims: "One engineer told The Register that when he tried to run identical simulations of an interaction between a protein and enzyme on Nvidia’s Titan V cards, the results varied. After repeated tests on four of the top-of-the-line GPUs, he found two gave numerical errors about 10 per cent of the time." https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/03/21/nvidia_titan_v_reproducibility/ Any chance we could get a confirmation of this by an independent LMG test? Thanks as always for the content <3 -S4nari

Hello! I am making an RC drift 1:10 model and I am making a new body for it. I will make a fully functional lights and I wonder - which lights are which? It's kinda hard to find any info about it :\ I guess it is not the best place to ask such question, but I don't feel like registering on Mazda owners club just to ask a single question... It would be super nice if somebody who knows could attach an image with labels, like, these are high beam lights, these are fog lights, reverse is only one or two and so on. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I was hoping to get some help with picking a new laptop. What I'm looking for is the best laptop i can buy for under $1500 that can handle medium to heavy workloads using programs like AutoCAD, Blender and the full Adobe Suite. I know most people would just recommend desk workstation but I work for a nonprofit disaster relief organization and travel too much for that to be of any use to me. I have no problem with upgrading a laptop so if someone knows a good laptop to just upgrade parts in to be the best for what I need I'd be open to that as well. the price needs to stay under $1500, don't make much working for nonprofits =). However, if there is an absolute perfect option for what I need that might be a slightly more then $1500 go ahead and list it. thanks ahead of time for recommendations.

Hi guys, I was hoping for some insight into a build for a drone business that will be delivering 3d models to customers. The auxiliary use for the machine will be to rent out/cloud service to other small independent drone business that are 3d modeling as well. The size of the jobs will have photos volumes between 50 - 10's of thousands and I want do this as fast as possible, I understand that there is a bell curve with capability and I want to find the sweet spot for multiple users. The main software that I will be using is Pix4D, I provided info about the software and hardware below, my budget for this if at all possible is $15,000AUD to $25,000AUD. Any suggestion about web frontend and backend architecture will be a big help and any suggested reads or videos as well. if you need any more info please ask. Thank you again for the suggestions Links 1. Hardware Components Usage when processing with Pix4D https://support.pix4d.com/hc/en-us/articles/202559519 2.
