hello all, I have this issue that does not wanna be fixed, I have a GoXLR mixer that I use and it contains a Music Channel that I route my deezer (music) app to, every time I reboot it defaults back to the main sound channel and not the music channel. this has nothing to do with the mixer but windows itself: every time I boot it would state the same channels but will still play in the system main channel till I change to a different channel and back to the music channel so it applies. help is appreciated.

I've perused a few posts and been googling a few days without finding an exact solution, and wondering if someone may have some insight. Sorry to be wordy, I want to try to cover all the info so people don't have to ask a bunch of questions I should already include. I'm looking to replace using onboard audio, though I fall into the "don't necessarily need to" camp, but half of my use case is giving me grief. Current specs/items: ASUS ROG Maximus X Code mobo Beyerdynamic DT 880 Special black 600 ohm headphones Yamaha AVR HTR-5240 / Klipsch R52C center/ R51M fronts Behringer X1204USB mixer -related, also have a Soundblaster G6 and another cheap USB sound chip/card. If there's another key item that you want to know, let me know, I think that's basically the items involved. A. The basic setup -- optical out from onboard mobo into my AVR, to power my speakers and all my audio runs through this most of the time. **on a whim, I recently tried using the G6 as my "main" audio and hooked it (mini toslink to toslink) to my AVR and though I feel like it shouldn't make so much difference, it really seemed to open up a lot of sound and things seemed to be clearer and better - so option 1 could simply be, get another G6. B. The secondary setup and use -- the audio from my PC is also being used for (twitch) streaming, which leads to looking for another audio solution to replace using the onboard audio. Ignoring part A as it doesn't relate to how this is used in this purpose: 1. onboard audio on mobo from Gaming PC using 1/8th to dual 1/4 into Behringer mixer on Line In 7/8. 2. cheap USB soundchip from Gaming PC using 1/8th to dual 1/4 into Behringer mixer on Line In 5/6 3. Soundblaster G6 from Gaming PC using 1/8th to dual 1/4 into Channel 3 and Channel 4 (hard panned L and R) 4. this is where I use the DT880 headphones for monitoring/gaming/stream - into the headphone jack on the mixer Now, for both of these, I don't have to change any hardware, I just have to change Windows sound output from "amp" to "line out" when streaming, and change it back when I'm done and then I carry on using my AVR and speakers instead of the mixer. This setup isn't broken in any way, but it feels like it has some areas to improve, and one of them is that the audio from the G6 is way better than my onboard audio. Now, the G6 goes into two mic channels that are amped - so I do have some gain adjustment - and maybe I should just swap these around, because for some reason my line-out from onboard audio is just REALLY quiet, with all volumes maxed. I swear it didn't used to be that way, that I had adequate volume adjustment with the slider in the past, and I tend to blame this on Windows somehow because all my sound issues tend to be because of Windows updates. That being said, I got to looking at DACs to replace using my onboard audio, and to hopefully find a combo DAC/headphone amp sufficient to power my DT880s - AND that also has an optical out so that I can use it to run audio to my AVR as I'm currently doing. I DO NOT NEED A HEADPHONE AMP THOUGH, that part truly is secondary - it is more wishful thinking. I have a feeling that the better opinions will always be to get two separate items anyway and not something that does both, but again the DAC is the main part, and fixing/improving my sound source. So far what I've found, which sort of meets criteria but maybe not perfect: a. the Topping D10 Balanced - which actually has balanced dual 1/4 outs which would be perfect to run to a mixer, and has optical out. However, not a headphone amp/preamp. b. Soundavo HP-DAC1 - roughly the same price as the Topping, has RCA outs instead of 1/4 jacks though, has optical out, and has a headphone preamp - Headphone Output Level: 0.1% THD 1KHz 32mW (32 ohm) c. FX Audio DAC-SQ3 - which looks like a low end non-branded Topping? They are sold under the same "name" on Amazon so I'm not sure on this. It looks to be the same as the D10 but with RCA. It has volume, but no headphone jacks. I keep digging and most of the headphone amps with DAC that I find do not have optical outs. The DAC I find with optical outs don't seem to also be headphone amps. The weird Soundavo HP-DAC1 might be the best solution but I'm not seeing much mention of it anywhere, and not sure if it is a solid piece, or just a solid...piece of garbo. Does anyone have any input, opinions, or ideas on this? I often find the magical niche area where no one makes an item that fits exactly what I need, and it feels like I'm at it again with finding a moderately priced item with a strong enough headphone amp and good DAC, with proper outputs. Thoughts? Am I looking for a unicorn, and should I just focus on a DAC with proper outputs instead of both? Also, I could use a DAC with XLR outs, and I "can" use RCA which would make it more universally usable for other situations, but balanced TRS 1/4 is pretty rad.

So I have a couple questions about a Audio Interface recording/usage 1) If I use the Line Out on USB audio interface, And pass it to say a mixer for said purposes, I will still be able to hear/use it right? with the current PC it's connected to? 2) So I know the sound and the gain passed over from line out remain the same when sent to a device with line-in, But supposedly you not meant to apply gain to what your source is plugged into? Instead just raise the volume. An Explanation as such? Those are the questions. PLEASE do not post an answer completely unrelated to this current discussion, just don't.

I am totally new to sound. I have been using USB MIC and Boya (with USB adaptor). I record my voice while screen recording. I should had gone with Audio Interface but I got this mixer without XLR MIC. I don't have XLR mic. I have Boya BY-M1 mic. I got two adapters (TRS connectors). I plugged in simple headphone audio and Boya mic pins in mixer and used phones. I could hear audio/sound from laptop but I could not listen to my voice from MIC. I turned 'Gain' and 'Level' in first column and turned phones knob. I can listen to my voice but really low but a ready loud hiss and background noise. I tried "To Phones" and "To main mix" together and separate but no success. Also when I check "Listen to this device" from mic settings only them i hear my voice. I wanted to record my voice and monitor it at same time. I am using screen capturing software or sometimes audacity. Did I make mistake by going with mixir? Should I had gone with audio mixer like Focusrite? Am I doing it wrong? Is XLR microphone a must to get clean voice?

Actually I'm using "VoiceMeeter" which is a Software Audio Mixer, but it consumes too much of the CPU. I'm trying to optimise the CPU usage to get better FPS while playing, that's the reason I want to buy one. It would be great if it got, at least, 4 channels, admits XLR microphone, has phantom power and Stereo Headsets and it cost 100€ or less (Or as closest to). Any good advice? Thanks in advance

I have had my eye on this volume mixer for awhile and they finally released it on Kickstarter and the campaign is almost over. I don’t know about y’all but adjusting my volumes with software while trying to play and talk on discord is a pain so I am really excited for these to be released. I have it very basically setup, from what I could kind of find online, but I still feel like it's not where I want it to be. I'm hoping to use it for streaming, or at the very least, sound great for when I play with friends or random people in games. So I'm wondering if anyone out there knows some proper settings for me to get the MOST out of this device.

Hi, I have a Yamaha Mg10xu. I'm having an issue where when I'm in discord talking to friends, they are able to hear themselves and any music be it Spotify or YouTube. I laid out the manual and went over it in details, I tried the recommendation and troubleshooting section as well. I've attached an image of my mixer with the following connections: Mic/Line 1 - Bluebird Condesnor Nic (48w phantom switch on) 9/8 Midi USB to Pc (USB switched on) Top left--Stereo (2x KEF Q150 Speakers powered via external S.M.S.L Amp) Monitor - Sennheiser Headphone I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, thank you in advance.

Hey there, So Im trying to stream on mixer and some times it works.. some times its stutter. I've tried stream labs OBS and just OBS studio. in both it says stream is good, only 20% usage no dropped frames. but my stream its laggy and choppy. My game play is smooth and no issues apparent on my side, but stream is just choppy. This also only appears to happen with FPS games (Apex, Overwatch and Warzone) if I try and play a different game (pokemon TCGO, Astroneer and Sea Of Thieves) I get no issues. Any help would be great. (ive uninstalled and reinstalled both programs and every reinstalled windows. Hey! So I work on my laptop and phone a lot, there are several times when I am in a phone call and have to attend a small seminar on my laptop. Is there a way to listen to the audio from a phone call and from my laptop on the same headphones (3.5 jack), AND be able to talk with the integrated mic on the headphones to both the phone and laptop? I've looked into some mixers but I'm not sure which one would be a good fit. I want to be able to receive audio from both sources simultaneously and send audio with the mic to both. I don't want to spend more than $50. Thank you!

Hi guys, so this is probably going to be a long post so bear with me. Recently I've realized that the Samson C03u USB mic I've been using and enjoying for a long time is starting to die on me so before it completely gives up the ghost I decided that now is a better time than ever to redo my audio setup and make it a lot better but I honestly have zero knowledge of audio hardware so I have no idea what the best options are for me. Like I said up until now I've been using a USB mic but I've wanted to move to XLR for quite some time now (mostly so I can monitor the audio without delay) but I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to need to get an XLR mic working, so I've been researching and came to the conclusion that I'm either going to need a mixer or an audio interface. I've decided that I'd prefer to get a mixer over an audio interface because having a mixer should also give me the ability to change volume levels for my stream in hardware instead or software (which should save me a lot of alt-tabbing to OBS all of the time because "the audio is not quite right"). I know a mixer is probably going to be more expensive but the convenience is worth it to me. But after deciding that I want to get a mixer I got completely lost. So I hope you guys can help me here. The idea is that I'm going to have a couple of channels on the mixer. One for my mic (of course), one for my game audio, one for my VoIP audio and preferably one for my background music. Than that audio would need to get back to my PC to be used in OBS but I would also need to get that audio to my headphones (Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250 Ohm) which is were another question arises for me. Can I plug these relatively high impedance headphones directly into a mixer or would I need to plug it in to an amp first? I'm currently powering them using my build-in audio and it sounds very good to me so up until now I never saw a reason to get a dedicated amp but I don't know if a mixer is going to have an amp powerful enough to power these headphones. And if I need an amp which one would I need and how would I connect it to the mixer... But there is more... When I'm streaming I often have someone in a call on Discord and they should only hear my mic, not the game/desktop audio so I'm guessing a mixer would need to have another output for the mic alone? So as you can see I really have no idea what I need in terms of equipment and if the things I want are even doable so any help is very welcome. As far as budget goes I don't really have a hard cap but I'd prefer to spend less than 300-400 euro's on all of the equipment I'm going to need. If it isn't possible I can always spend more but let's just say I'd rather not if I don't have to.

Alright, so I've seen a few posts here and some information on Reddit on how to do this in general, but I was wondering if someone here would be able to help me with my specific use case. I understand enough about audio routing to be somewhat dangerous but I also get really confused by it so I'm hoping someone can clear things up for me. I'll start with the hardware that I have and then go into what I am looking to do. I have my gaming PC, TV, and PS4 all going into my Behringer Xenyx Q1002USB mixer which outputs to 2 JBL monitors. The PC is using just a 1/8" headphone to 1/4" TRS L/R cable into one of the channels on the mixer (though I could use the USB cable on the mixer to have audio input and output on my PC, more on that later) while the TV and PS4 are both on the same channel into the mixer. The PS4 is passing audio over the HDMI input on the TV and the master TV output is going to the mixer from an RCA L/R cable to TRS L/R into the mixer. I currently don't have a microphone plugged into the mixer but want to take advantage of the XLR inputs and eventually get a microphone plugged in. My question is this: is there a way to have one XLR microphone plugged into the mixer and have the audio input go to both my PC voice chat and PS4 voice chat? I have seen some videos that say my mixer is compatible with the PS4 over USB but I am worried that other audio coming into my mixer (including game audio from the PS4) would be routed back into the input of whatever devices I have it connected it to through USB since all audio getting routed through the mixer would go to the audio output over USB. I want to get an AT2035 or something similar and use my ATH-M50x's for audio monitoring for both devices and would like to have both options running all the time so I wouldn't have to do any weird cable unplugging or digital audio routing through Windows or my PS4. I can't see myself ever utilizing both options at the same time but I am trying to avoid changing up my setup each time I want to play something on either device. I have been playing a lot more on my PS4 recently so I could just not worry about my PC right now but eventually I want to get back into PC gaming again. Thoughts?? Ok say we have a gym. Say we have a nice speaker setup. Those speakers connect with a big ass Mixer+Equalizer (physical ones) to power em up. Now the input is NOT a cd changer or something like that. The input will be a PC! A budget gaming class PC (sorta 500$, AMD six core, etc.)! (not some high end 2000$ shit) Now we shall be using SPOTIFY because surprisingly the VORBIS quality is very nice (i've had that setup in another gym already once), the music is free and the volume is CONSISTENT. Our country's legal regulations for music royalties do NOT care for the source, we are charged in a different way than in the USA (i'm not 100% sure how you do it over there) but basically i can play from whatever source i want after i get certified. My question is -- will we gain something by using EXTERNAL SOUND CARD after the PC and BEFORE the Mixer+Equalizer (like Xonar U7) ? What i'm looking for is to further refine the source of the sound by having EXTERNAL sound card instead of internal one, and having a good one. I DO KNOW that we're not putting lossless music, yes... but LAST time i had similar setup with exactly U7 and i was very pleased. However also i noted some small lag? when going through the external card... maybe because of USB connection to the PC?

I'm looking to purchase a small audio mixer for my headphones as I have a few inputs I'd like to control the throughput of. Don't know too much about audio equipment but this seemed like it would do the job, however, I cannot find anywhere on the net if it is Stereo or Mono inputs/ouput. Hi so I got a new behringer q802usb as I wanted a mixer or audio interface for my bm700 condenser microphone as it was connected to my sound blaster z, but wasn't quite powering it properly and had a hissing sound in background. Now I have connected the q802usb via USB to the back of my pc connected the microphone to first channel via xlr cable. The microphone is set to 0 and main output is set to 0 so on basically, with a little bit of gain as it's too quite otherwise, the only problem is im getting a hissing sound in the background and the noise is still there even with no gain. I mainly do live streaming so cutting the noise via audacity is not possible, also I have tried a different cable but still get issues and a different microphone too. Any ideas thanks

I've got a condenser microphone with a XLR cable. Currently, I use an Emx512sc to phantom power it. From it, I send the audio to my laptop through an rca to 3.5mm plug cable (laptop line in), via the "rec out" module in the mixer. The question goes: Will I get better audio quality from an usb interface that goes directly into the laptop? Microphone is a Tascam TM-80. I'm wondering if my weird setup is bottlenecking the quality. Also, what other features would I get from a dedicated interface? Thanks to you all.

Hello everyone, Me and my wife both sit at the same desk, side by side. We play a few games online together with our friends; usually using discord, twitch/curse, or TeamSpeak for communication. I'm looking for purchase a setup that would make it a good experience for everyone else on the receiving end of our chatter. 1) Is there a microphone that I can situate between me and my wife that would pick both of our voices clearly, or would it be better to have two separate microphones? I feel the problem with a single microphone would be a lot of ambient noise or our friends would hear both of our keyboards/mice. 2)Mixer: I'm not sure if I need a mixer, but here are my thoughts: There is small enough of a delay with voice comms, that if we have a separate microphone, I will hear her voice, then after a short delay I will hear her through the voice comm. We've tried muting each other in the voice comm, but with headphones on it's difficult to hear each other. Would we be able to run our mics through a mixer so we can have real time transmission to each other's headphones? Is there an easier solution? Am I over thinking this?

Hey peeps. So I got quite a few things I need help with. My fiancé and I are about to start a gaming YouTube channel, but both of us have difficulty learning several things all at once by Googling dozens of websites that all only partially answer the question, and also have hard times wording things, hence why this is going to be rather awkward. Watched this, and I didn't get anything out of it. Hoping someone can walk me step-by-step in layman's terms. I have a very poor attention span due to several disorders, so I can't just watch an hour-long video answering these all. I know this seems silly, and I know I could probably get these all answered with Googling, but for reasons I can't really explain, it would be a lot easier for my brain if I had control over what I was told to do. Right now, I have a Blue Yeti Pro, and a Razer Ripsaw capture card that I have no clue how to use yet. 1.) What exactly does XLR as opposed to just using USB? (Why is the quality better?) 2.) How do I use the XLR option on my microphone? I get that I have to buy an audio interface, but that's about all I got out of that video. 3.) What are some good audio interfaces for various budget ranges? 4.) How do I record said audio? 5.) Do I have to use two separate programs/hardware devices to record gameplay and audio, or can I use one thing that does both? Would it be easier for me, in the end, to record them separately or together? 6.) If they do have to be recorded separately, how do I combine both after editing to upload to YouTube? 7.) If any of you have compared several audio and/or video recording softwares personally, can I please get a pro/con list or opinions of them? 8) Is an audio interface the same as a mixer? If not, what is a mixer? 9.) What are some good mixers for various budget ranges? 10.) How do I connect capture card, microphone, audio interface, mixer, etc., all together, then to my PC and capture it all, if it's not obvious? 11.) After all that, how do I add facecam into the mix? I want to plug my guitar that has a quarter inch to a mixer that also has quarter inch input. I want to know if i can plug the quarter inch output of my mixer to 3.5mm aux pc to record or play live. I normally plug the audio output of the mixer to a speaker. I want to know ASAP because i want to know if it works before I order the Quarter inch to 3.5mm aux cable

I've been looking for a simple audio mixer I will use to combine 3 inputs so I can hear them all through my headphones simultaneously. The problem is that at my price point (under $50) I can only find ones with mono outputs and/or less than three inputs. Can someone find me the right mixer? Bonus if it also uses 3.5mm jacks rather than 1/4 inch for the inputs and outputs but I know that's probably not a thing, and I'll just have to buy a few adapters. Thanks.

Is there a device that I can use to 'combine' two different audio signals from different devices so I can hear them both through one device at the same time? The use case would be for my PC and my guitar amp. It's always a pain to switch between my PC audio and the amp, and I'd like to be able to hear both simultaneously through my headphones so that I can experiment with playing over other tracks, hear the song I'm trying to play, etc.

I'm at a point of extreme frustration now and hope only to find an answer to my issues. Recently, I purchased a pair of Sennheiser HD 7 DJs, A modmic 5.0 and a Behringer Xeynx 302USB in hopes of getting excellent audio, great mic capture, and a decently loud active sidetone as a cherry on top. At first, this set up seemed great. Powering the mixer off of the wall and bypassing its DAC properties provided the best experience. However, when the mic monitor is turned up, there is a noticeable hum in the background. I have already made an extensive post about this issue which has received some views but has not yet lead me to the answer I seek. I type this message now to state how terrible the situation has grown to. I failed to mention in my post that I use a wireless mouse which when plugged in to charge then held in hand produces an UNBEARABLE amount of this AC hum! That noise, complimented by the keyboards noise causes the situation to be so horrible that I would rather mute the microphone and avoid friends rather than try to bear the horrible hum to speak with them. At this point, Money is now longer a factor. I'm looking for anything to make this setup work. I do wish to try to get the solution to follow a few criteria. 1. The headphones receive sound from both the PC and the Mic so I can hear myself as well as in game audio. 2. The PC must receive audio from the Mic and not loop the PC audio back to itself 3. I would prefer if the Mic was discrete like the ModMic 5.0 and does not extend over my keyboard or hover above the set up like a stand alone XLR microphone. I have looked into replacing the mixer with one like the ProFX4v2 but I am unsure if this mixer can stop the PC audio from looping back to itself. Any response or help will be appreciated.
