  1. Budget (including currency): 20,000 MXN Country: Mexico Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Solidworks, Unity, Blender, Coding, and i will be playing games like Fortnite, LoL, Valorant, Minecraft with shaders and some emulated games Hello, I have out together this mini itx pc to use it in my college dorms, but I’m not sure if it is the best option, so I wanted to ask for advice or recommendations on how to improve it, also, if possible, I want to squeeze into that budget that I listed a 1080p 144hz monitor and a mechanical keyboard, thank you very much https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kLhLbL
  2. So I always have some sort of crazy pc build I am making. My latest is using a "coinmine" motherboard (a shill and now defunct crypto mining company that sold mini itx pc's that were just plug in and mining machines for laymen) that has a great 16x pcie slot and a few ports for things like wifi and an msata card which makes a great pc for a home server, decent retroarch machine, home server etc... I am using it to make a dedicated LTO4 backup device with a 4TB HD for storage of all the files i want to transfer on and off tape drives and an msata card for the HD and a fiber channel card to transfer data between the LTO4 drive and the computer itself. I got the motherboard off ebay for something like $10 and its perfect for a little backup server. I've gone though the trouble of designing a custom 3d printable case for it and the LTO4 drive (the see-through mockup is pictured below) My question for LTT which i desperately want answered is the crappy and cheap ATX power supply modules (such as: doubtful its actually capable of 300watts, or this one: i have my doubts here too) meant for cars or whatever make this build all possible for me, but I have no idea is the actual power rating is even close to the advertised (super doubtful) rating (some pictured below). But this seems like an amazing, cheap, and super informative test for LTT to do if they want to take it on which i highly recommend. Or if anyone has any experience with these types of power supplies, please share your insight!! I'd love to hear any of your experiences/horror stories, so I can make my own determination on how I should power this LTO4 drive as well as the MB and HDD.... my guess is ill need something close to 300-watt, but I last did that rough power estimate a while ago and I forget how I came to that conclusion. Any help/insight is much appreciated!!! maxresdefault-2414477080
  3. Hello, I'm a newbie to messing about with hardware, but I want to build a server and put Unraid on it. A second hand shop in my town has a Ryzen 5 4500 for £55 which seems a pretty good price for a hex core processor. I want a reasonably powerful processor as I will be using the virtualisation function of Unraid. However, that particular chip doesn't provide onboard graphics and I'm not planning to put a graphics card in my server box. Would that chip be useable, and would I be able to use the web interface to access the server without a graphics processor?
  4. So far my 3rd build. This one was tough, but worked out nicely in the end! List of parts below. Used EK-Quantum Kinetic TBE 120 pump/res and JTC CPU Block. Horrible at taking pics LOL https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kTrqsh
  5. Hello i am looking to make a build in Coolermaster elite 130 and i am looking for BUDGET mini itx motherboard
  6. Hi everyone, I assembled for a friend a new pc, every part is brand new. Here's the list: Monitor: LG 34WN80C Case: IQUNIX ZX-1 PCIe Riser: the one who came with the case, PCIe 16x 3.0 17mm CPU: Intel i5-13400 GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4070 Eagle OC-12GD MoBo: ASUS ROG STRIX B760-I RAM: Corsair Vengeance 5600Mhz K2 CL36 2x16GB SSD: SSD 1TB Crucial P5 plus Cooler: Kraken X53 PSU: Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold OS: Windows 11 PRO Now, the problem is that he gets really crappy FPS in pretty much every game, except League of Legends. Hogwarts Legacy, with every settings on low and DLSS on Max Performance, only goes to 14-16 FPS in the char selection. We tried opening Thief, the remake, and in the menu it drops to 24 FPS with the lowest settings... We tried a normal 1080p monitor, only 2 FPS gain. We tried updating drivers, bios, ME, but nothing solved the problem. I tried looking into the bios to search for a settings to bring the PCIe slot to 3.0, but I didn't find the setting, and GPU-Z recognize the GPU with a "PCIe x16 4.0 @ x16 1.1". Since the riser is a 3.0, I think this mismatching of gen between GPU <-> Riser <-> Mobo is causing the problem. Any other idea? Should we try and buy a new riser cable?
  7. Budget (including currency): 1800€ Country: Italy Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: League of Legends, Guild Wars 2, Hogwarts Legacy, other games (new and old release) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Existing part Monitor: LG 34WN80C Hello everyone, for a friend I'm going to build a new pc, a Mini-ITX. I never built one, so I'm a bit unsure of what parts to pick, like the GPU and the PSU. This is the list right now: Case: IQUNIX ZX-1 (already bought) CPU: Intel i5-13400 or 13600k, probably will go for the 13600k MoBo: ASUS ROG STRIX B760-I RAM: whatever is cheap at the moment of buying, going for 2x16gb DDR5 minimum 5600 MHz. SSD: Samsung 980 PRO 1TB/500GB (if we need to cheap out a bit) OR Sabrent Rocket 1TB/500GB (same) - on this one I think it doesn't matter wich brand I choose. Cooler: Kraken X53 Right now, with all this pieces, we reach about 1130€, so we have more or less 700€ to pick a PSU and a GPU. I never picked a SFX PSU, so I have no idea of what brand is the "bang for the buck". Also, what GPU is best to pair with the LG 34WN80C? Thank you kindly for everyone who's going to answer
  8. It’s all started around a year and a half ago, I’ve decided to build a new pc, at the moment I had a kind of old pc i7 920 with 6gb of ram and gtx750ti (gtx470 died) later I’ve made some minor upgrades to it (buld log) and managed to get it playing most of modern games, but before that I’ve bought some parts for htpc First was the case Lian Li PC-Q37 To fit it in the living room it was slightly moded It was planned to be fully watercooled I’ve decided to make a “vertical” actually horizontal gpu mount to do the mock up I used “miniITX” motherboard, got it from a dead ancient office pc and a dead asus gtx470
  9. Budget (including currency): Unlimited Country: Czech rep. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: All of it Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Ryzen 7 3700X RX6800XT Saphire Noctua NH-D14/U12S Motherboard - up to choose 2HDD + 1 NVMe .PSU AX860i And now to the point, currently rebuilding my huge CM HAF EVO XB setup and thought of going mini ITX(I have RMAed mobo). I have found one case that would suit me it is the CM HAF 915F, that would have plenty of space. My point is to reduce the PC in size. So if anybody has suggestion, let me have it, Will need to buy new Mobo next week, as waiting for the money after RMA, therefore I though about size reduction. Adding photo how my rig looks now. Kind regards, Karel
  10. Budget (including currency): $500 Country: USA Will be used for streaming, gaming, editing. as of right now, I have an I7 4770, an asus q87t, and two 8gb's ddr3 sodimm ram. I also have a gtx 1060 3gb in my current build that I was planning on using, but pc part picker says it isn't compatible? is this even worth building? right now, I have an I5 2400 with my gtx 1060. I want to upgrade, but keep running into compatibility issues that I wasn't prepared for. haha first it was the ram, and on my second attempt I found out that my psu isn't able to be connected to my motherboard. (what psu is actually compatible?) I just want to upgrade and be done with it. any help is appreciated
  11. Budget (including currency): a low 500 usd or 650 aud i can stretch to a little if the performance boost is worth it. Country: Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mainly photoshop and light video editing along with ur average joe steam games like beamng on medium settings scrap mechanic minecraft, maybe even some fortnight use Other details heres the build plan. case: deepcool macube 110 (mini ITX) cpu: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5 GHz Qaud core mother board: MSI B450M MORTAR MAX ATX AM4 motherboard ram: patriot viper 1x8 GB ddr4 3000 CL16 storage: kingstone A400 120GB SATA SSD (THIS WILL BE UPDATED LATER UNLESS ITS SHIT) psu: 450w corsair 80+ bronze ATX power supply cooling: game max velocity rgb fans and a 165mm deepcool gammax GTE 64.4 CFM wat do ya reckon, going for a white and sorta rgb design
  12. Hello all, I have an existing full atx system that I built in a Cooler Master Q500L. I am a big fan of the Q500L as I have been able to fit a ton of full size componenets into it despite its minimal size. However, I just recently started moving back and forth across the country a couple of times per year and I need to keep my system with me. The first time I did this, I had my computer in a Thermaltake v200 which was noticably bigger than the Q500L and it was ahastle to get it through the airport. I moved to the Q500L as I did not want to buy a smaller motherboard especially since I am such a big fan of my Aorus Master Z490 board. The problem is that the Q500L is still too large to fit into a carry-on and I do not want to send my computer into the immediate death of checked luggage which would be worse than just shipping it (which is not an option for time reasons). I can still take my computer as a carry-on but it is usually not the best experience as some flight attendents try to say that it is too big. With that in mind, I am now thinking about swapping to mini-itx to solve that problem. I am having a hard time finding a case that would work for this though. I have an i9-10850k and I do a lot of cpu heavy work so it requires a beefy cooler. I use a 240mm aio which does just fine but most small cases that I have found cannot fit a 240mm radiator. I also would like to keep my atx psu (150mm length) and I have a dual fan graphics card. I know those criterion take most cases out of contention which is probably why I am having a hard time finding a good option. I would prefer the case to be as small as possible so any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, Alec
  13. Budget (including currency): $2800 USD Country: Perú Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Autodesk Fusion 360 and Inventor rendering, Maya 3D, Lumion, CSP, heavy use of tabs in chrome, Steam games (Mass effect 3, deus ex md, etc) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have a Logitec mouse and keyboard that I still use and hasn't fail me yet plus a Asus zenScreen that will remain in use. But I really need a better PC to render 3D that doesn't need me to close everything but that program and leave it on like that for hours. I'm upgrading from a IdeaPad Lenovo so no other pieces will be carried over and I want this PC to last me at least 5 years before I need to upgrade it. I have tried assembling a PC with part picker (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pz9J68) and I want some help with it to know if anyone knows better or more affordable parts that still will do the job. The most important thing is for it to last me a while, I really need it to be reliable as it will be used for work and for gaming.
  14. Hi everybody! A few days ago I built my first ever PC (a Mini-ITX which plan to use as an HTPC). Although it does turn on, the CPU fan spins and all LEDs light, I get no signal on my monitor (I tried both HDMI and DP). Please note that I use no Graphics Card but a CPU with integrated graphics instead (see full spec list below), so I have to use the ports of my motherboard. Does anybody know what I can do or what I should try? I thank everybody in advance since I don't know what I can do anymore. Part List (all parts are new except the CPU): CPU: Ryzen 3 2200g Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Pro Wifi RAM: 2* 4GB G.Skill NT Series DIMM Cooler: Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 Case: Unyka 52061 w/ integrated PSU 150W Storage: 240GB Kingston M.2 SSD Also, I should note that after powering my PC on I can hear a throttling noise which seems to come from my PSU, that is integrated into my case. According to PCPartPicker my ITX should use around 119W, and my PSU supplies 150W, so it should be enough. EDIT 9/11/2021: I bought a new PSU and case as it seemed that the PSU was the problem. However, I still get no signal whatsoever.
  15. Budget (including currency): ~800€ Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Most of the time LoL, Minecraft, programming and Adobe CC Other details: Atm I have a dual monitor setup with a ThinkPad T420, that can barely handle it. I got a laptop 2 years ago, but it has only one output. My monitors are Samsung 27" 60hz. I searched the pieces myself: (German website for hardware listing) https://geizhals.de/?cat=WL-2068708 I like the size of the case, but I'm not sure if I want the i-version of it.... I searched for an iGPU because GPUs are too expensive, as we see in the latest vid. The motherboard should fit to it :). I plan on getting a 3070 when the price is back to normal, then also upgrading the CPU. Edit: I also think the RAM is kind of ugly.... What do you think & what would you change? Greetings, Andreas
  16. So as of recently i've been giving people alot of Mini ITX PCP Builds, but I don't know that many good Mini ITX cases. (Only really good all around one that I know is the CM NR200) so ill keep this simple - What are some good all around mini Itx cases? (Good as in good thermals, good airflow, good looks, etc) Don't really care about pricing of the cases. Thanks!
  17. Recently built new PC with the following: Ryzen 7 5800x Gigabyte b550i Pro AX mini ITX (BIOS F13i with AMD AGESA Combo V2 1.2.0.2) Kraken x53 240mm AIO 32GB gskill 3600mhz 1070 ti FTW2 Phantek Enthoo Evolv mini ITX tower (total of 1x120mm fan on back, 2x120mm on radiator above, 1x200mm front fan). My benchmark results are within the expected range, no crashing, gaming performance so far seems fine. My idle temps when on the Windows Balanced power plan are upper 40s to low 50s occasionally. 1.4 volts pretty much consistently. When I go into the Windows Low Power plan, my idle temps stay mid to upper 30s, rarely crossing over to 40. My benchmarking tests goes up to 90 when using cinabench, and 85 using Time Spy 3D Mark (while on the balanced power plan). I know this is a hot running processor and I've never paid too much attention to temperature control because nothing was ever alarming. I've never done any overclocking, but watched AMDs PBOv2/CO YouTube video, as well as a PBO/CO video for the 5600x and 5900x. I kept the stock thermal paste on the x53 (not sure if rotating the pump 180 degrees would do anything - I do have extra paste if I have to), set the pump in the BIOS to full, and the fans on the radiator to point to the CPU rather than the system with just a slightly more aggressive fan profile. Other than setting that and XMP on the BIOS to recognize the 3600mhz on my memory, I haven't changed any other settings. I also made sure to kill off any RGB or unnecessary startup programs. Are these ranges normal? I've seen many people say they idle in mid to lower 30's. I know I'm in a mini ITX case, so that could be a factor. My thought was to try to set the PBO to enabled, limits off, and CO to undervolt and negative 10 points to start, incrementing by 2-3 points each time? I'm open to suggestions. I've just never OC'd before as my other builds worked fine stock, first time using an AIO cooler, and currently the system is stable with 0 crashes (just higher temps than I'm used to and voltage stays around the 1.4v-1.45v when on the balanced power plan).
  18. So I am trying to put a 12v fan into a Dell Optiplex Micro SFF PC. This SATA connection is sticking straight out of this motherboard. I tried connecting this SATA to Fan-Header Hub to the motherboard using this SATA power splitter but I can't get it to even light up. I have tested both the fan hub and the splitter out on a Real PSU SATA port and it works well.
  19. A company called SiFive is making a Mini-ITX motherboard with a RISC-V CPU, and it's almost $700. The RAM and CPU are soldered onto the board, but interestingly it has 2 NVMe slots, a MicroSD card slot, and even a PCIe x16 slot. Seeing that RISC-V is in its infancy, and the general premium you have to pay for Mini ITX parts, I'd say it's only for those who are serious about RISC-V development. Currently I think the only thing you can run natively on it is Debian Linux, as that's been ported to RISC-V.
  20. Hi all just finished my first sff build got a gigabyte B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI mini itx motherboard. and using 3x corsair fans, 2 for intake 1 for exhaust. I knew i didn't have fan headers so went and got a Phanteks Universal Fan Controller, PH-PWHUB_02 low profile. Put all 3 fans into that and then put it into the fan header on the motherboard. However I cant seem to control the speed of the fans. they are all very loud and running fast. I've loaded the SIV and easytune software but that doesn't seem to know what RPM they are running at. I don't want to use the included remote- I'd rather the MB knew what was installed even if it thinks 3 fans are 1. any thoughts please
  21. Budget (including currency): soft of $500 max around 1000$ (if able to be payed for bit by bit it would be preferd) Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:photoshop/photo editing, normal everyday uses (like shows/moives and web browseing email) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): so first of i am not the one whos is for but its for a family member. as for peripherals needed none really but at some point it would be nice to upgraded the monitor (i have spars) to something that's nice and color accurate, keybord and mouse are not needed areldy have them, and windows i will prop just try and use there key from there old system so that can be cut out) aslo trying to go for something compact (so like a mini) as they dont have much space on there desk and make it easy to deal with cleaning dust and hair out from it. its going to be upgrading from an HP Pavilion all in 1, tho i dont have the exact specks or model i think its some intel cpu with 16 cores(i think) and it has 4gb of ram, the main reason for the upgrade is party just for something faster but aslo due to the screen being broken and not very reapiable (lest for a prices that's worth it)
  22. After 6 months of owning my first rig, I realized it wasn't using the full protentional of the ram I got due to my fault on finding compatible options. It crashes when OC to max speed in BIOS with XMP. The mobo specs only officially supports the OC speed in single channel 16gb as opposed to the full 32gb dual channel. I'm looking to replace the case and motherboard in the very near future to change the form factor and make use of the memory capabilities. Honestly I've been looking for a while but am struggling to find a compatible mobo without also upgrading the cpu. These are my current specs: Mobo: Z590 AORUS PRO AX with specs here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z590-AORUS-PRO-AX-rev-10/sp#sp Memory: 2x16gb TEAM GROUP XTREEM ARGB DDR4 4000Mhz as listed in specs here: https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/product/xtreem-argb-ddr4 Gpu: NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX™ 3090 - EVGA FTW3 ULTRA GAMING Cpu: 10900K Psu: NZXT C1000 Gold Case: NZXT H510 Storage: Single M.2 (i know the mobo has a crazy amount of options just never used them) Cooling: Kraken X63 RGB Future build specs requirements by order of importance: 1. Reduce size of case dramatically | Preserve GPU 2. Preserve current CPU and RAM at max rated dual channel speed 3. Preserve current cooling 4. Preserve Psu Fr Fr I'm open to suggestions, I'm down if there's any mobo out there that supports the OC RAM speed + 10th gen i9 even if it isn't mini ITX so long as the case is smaller than the H510 midtower. The plan is to move to Mexico without bringing a bulky flashy pc that yells gamer/big bucks.
  23. Hey! I'm looking to build a server primarily to be a NAS but also to host various other services; home automation, maybe a small minecraft server. Apart from the specs it's very important it's quite and small (or stylish.. ) as it will be in my living room. Hence the slightly overkill cpu cooler and PSU. I'm mostly unsure of what CPU to pick. I know the use case is pretty broad/vague, I'm just not quite sure if going a step up is worth it? Most of the services I'm thinking of hosting isn't that CPU intensive. (Except maybe the Minecraft server, but when i say small, I mean like 2-3 players at a time) And I shouldn't need any transcoding, mostly streaming to my tablet or my LG C7 tv and haven't needed transcoding yet! Also PCPartPicker warns me that the AB350 chipset might need a bios update, but I don't have a compatible CPU lying around so that's not gonna happen. Is this still an issue? Or do I need to go for a x570, which is more than double the price. If that's the case is there a motherboard/cpu combo that makes more sense? CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3200G 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S 55 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: ASRock AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill Value 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Storage: Kingston A2000 250 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Seagate IronWolf NAS 4 TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive Storage: Seagate IronWolf NAS 4 TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive Case: Fractal Design Node 304 Mini ITX Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair RMi 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Would of course love any other feedback.
  24. Budget (including currency): £1000 (give or take) Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming with multi-tasking Other details I want to be able to play at 144fps 1080p or around 100 fps 1440p or 60fps 4k and I think I can get that comfortably enough with a Ryzen 3600 & RTX 2060. This is the build I have so far: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/3XvWTC I am really fond of SFFPCs! Everything seems to be compatible but I would like to know if there is anything wrong or anything that I should adjust. I'm really not sure about what PSU to get and would prefer to have a reliable one that won't cause problems for me in the long run. If there are any suggestions for different GPUs or CPUs I am open to them but I wanted to favour an AMD build over an Intel one, and I will probably upgrade or sidegrade once Ryzen 4 comes out since my brother has a 1080 build & is in the market for a new mobo/CPU anyway. There didn't seem to be many options for mini ITX motherboards, I really want one that will be compatible with zen 3 in down the line. From what I read that limits me x570 at the moment & I'm hesitant to cheap out on it right now. I did read that amd plans to add compatibility to some older motherboards too so I'm not sure...? I checked a few cases and I picked the Silverstone SG13 because 1. I'm not interested in having glass on my case, 2. It isn't super flashy 3. It's small and would fit into my room's aesthetic really easily. I am still a little concerned about whether I'll have enough room for all this in that small case though. I also live in a pretty hot country I am considering buying a better cooling block for the cpu. I'm not sure how many extra fans I can fit into this either? Or if I'd need to. I'm not super bothered about overclocking, I don't expect to on a small air cooled build like this but I'm open to that possibility later if I switch parts with my brother's larger desktop.
  25. Ok, I was asked to price a build with an Intel Atom (no specific model) 8 gb of RAM and mini-itx form. Doesn't need storage as this guy apparently has it, I'm just having trouble figuring out how to get ahold of the processor. Thanks in advance, links appreciated.
