Hi! I tried to convert an SFF machine (HP compaq 6000 pro) into a machine that would be able to game moderate games. But i recently found out that when i tried to put into a new case, the motherboard wouldnt fit. I found out that it would never fit in the newer case because i bought an ATX/Micro-ATX Case for an SFF motherboard. So since the motherboard was to old. I decided to look for all new material for the pc (i mean: new motherboard, cooler, cpu etc except the graphics card: asus 750 ti PH) but i dont know what to look for as i am not very technical. so i wanted to ask if someone knew what kind of board i could buy when i mainly just play games like the yakuza games, minecraft, and vr chat. And what cpu would be best for that. also i am on a bit of a budget (around 100 euro's for the motherboard, and maybe 60 for the cpu) so if you could keep that in mind that would be great. thanks already for checking my question out! i hope you have a nice day

Hello Guys, I need your help: I want to build a PC but I have'nt decided on a case yet. It should be relativly clean looking so not the typically "extreme gaming" look. Furthermore it should have bay for my optical drive in the front. It should also have a sidepanel with a window in it so one can see my cable management. Speeking of with there should be enough room for cables and sleeved cable extensions. The Pricing should be between 50 to 100€. So if any of you could kindly suggest me a case I would be very glad

Greetings LTT community. I've been a long time passive participant but I needed some tech-minded eyes on this, and so it became the perfect opportunity to officially join up. I want to build a medium-small (bigger than a shoebox... perhaps more like 3 shoeboxes) desktop computer that will suit my needs for the foreseeable future (aka ~3 years, although I make my hardware last). All the strikethrough text was my original post... I thought I would leave it for posterity :). I'm looking for a case with specific features, so it'd be great if anyone has advice/recommendations/etc (even if it's not exactly what I describe). I am looking for a case on the smaller side of things, but still have enough room for a mATX mobo, a single 2-slot graphics card, a couple of SSDs and honestly not much else (I might even end up with a mini-ITX mobo if it has good onboard M.2 storage). The only other real requirement is mounting for 4 120mm fans (although I could get by with 3 or if there is a larger fan intake in the front, this would work as well). No side panel, color isn't a big deal as most cases are black or dark grey (having something like good Japanese rolled steel or quality aluminum construction is much more important, with screwless access being ideal), no RGB support needed/wanted and as long as the front IO has some USB ports I'd be happy. Thank you in advance for any recommendations or suggestions and I will be sure to read and consider every reply. - Tony R. 1 - Background (feel free to skip to 2) Here's what I have so far: CPU: Intel Core i7-8086K (I actually won this in the contest/giveaway that Intel held earlier this year, otherwise I would have bought an 8700K) GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 HYBRID GAMING, 11G-P4 (passed on nVidia's 2000-series; it needs to mature + the included rad fan is due for replacement) Other: Multiple Wacom tablets What I need: Everything else. My previous desktop (i7-3770S/EVGA 660 Ti) will be repurposed due to age, so there will be zero carryovers regarding parts. I have an inexpensive keyboard and a very basic Logitech mouse with an extremely inadequate monitor that made sense at the time and has served me well, but my eyes deserve better. I've been making use of laptops for work and consoles for gaming in more recent years, but would like to return to a dual-purpose, fixed setup. With Black Friday/Cyber Monday/End of Year/etc deals coming up soon, this provided the motivation I needed to at least put together my "ideal part list", even if some items like extra storage/RAM/monitor calibrater/etc are bought at a later date. I've been using PCPartPicker to see what options I had and happened to come across a build for a similar use case by one Eli Harper. Of course, I have slightly different preferences. For maximum quietness, I prefer windowless cases... I rather airbrush/customize a solid case than show off its inners for now; this includes zero interest in RGB kb/m as well (although backlt keycaps - like on a lot of laptops - can be nice) and finally work should come before play if a compromise needs to be made. I'm going to do my best to describe what would be most desirable, and I'm hoping that some people will lend me their experience/observations to help all of this come together. As far as spending, that is flexible... to a point. I know the monitor will likely be the most expensive item, but in terms of the max amount of money to spend, that lands between $1,700 - $2,200 USD. 2 - The Important Bits What I would love input on: Monitor - I've lived in a 1920x1080 world for too long (although I find it still perfectly fine for most gaming, and I don't even plan on buying a 4K TV until next year, it hurts productivity - or at least there is a lot more resizing and moving of panels inside Adobe CC products and other software suites). A bump up to 4K would be nice, but I'm also considering 1440p (curved screens are out - common in ultrawide displays - since I personally feel that might cause issues with my non-gaming workflow). A wide color gamut is a must, while higher than 60hz refresh rates or HDR are luxury items that aren't "must have's" at this time (and which also raise the price drastically when combined). I am basically looking for a "pro" monitor (as little light bleed as possible and a high contrast rate, with the aformented wide color gamut) and not a gaming monitor, but I know there is some convergence. Motherboard - This one is a little easier. I've had lots of luck with ASUS mobos (although I'd be open to recommendations), but now I need to decide what kind of mATX (or miniITX if it fits the bill) to get. I plan on running the CPU with a Noctua air cooler, and while OC'ing is always nice, a lot of Z370 boards are missing features that wouldn't appear until Z390 (which is something I was waiting for, but now I want to avoid Z390/Intel 9th gen altogether). WiFi is not important, but USB 3.1 Gen 2 (and possibly Type-C) is, however I could do without since I doubt I would notice. I haven't really looked at CPU-locked boards, so maybe there is a diamond in the rough that someone could clue me is on. I've still never needed more than 16GB, but regardless I would only need 2 DIMM slots and one PCIx16 slot for the graphics card. On board M.2 storage (at least one full-size slot) and at least 3 PWM fan headers are a must. Random Q - Are those 16GB/32GB small Optane modules found on some boards useful? I'm considering having one large 3.5" mechnical drive (either a WD Black @ 7200rpm or a WD Red @ 5400rpm) for storing my game library and I didn't know if they helped with HDD caching specifically. Case - One of the more subjective catagories. My needs are basic though. I want a very unassuming, no windowed case with mounts for 4 fans (ideally I would have two intake, and two exaust - one of those two coming from the 120mm GPU rad fan, however as long as there are mounting spaces, arrangements can be made/altered later). I would also like it to be as small as reasonably possible. My old desktop is housed in an Antec P183 V3, a great case but at 30 pounds alone, it's not what I need or want now (I would love to get something as solid and screwless as that, but at at least half the size and and maybe one-third the weight). 3 - Wrap Up Thanks to anyone who took the time to read any part of this. I will still comb through user builds and reviews, because, well most everyone should. However if anyone could point me in the right direction regarding a certain component, it would be greatly apprechiated. LTT is one of the best communities out there because we build off of the collective knowledge of one another... plus the hunt+build is a lot more fun for the majority of us compared to just throwing whatever money you have at a retailer and hoping for a good outcome ?. MS-B090 (u3e1) It comes with my MSI Nightblade MI2c and I'm really interested in its characteristics so does one of you know anything about it? More specifically, I want to know if it is standard mini-atx, how many pcie slots it has and anything else...

Hi there, looking for a good mini PC for my tv. Thought about Intel NUC i5 or something but for barebones they are really expensive. Any Ideas? Should play 4K files (UHD-BluRay // FHD-BluRay). Nothing on gaming (but would be cool if league of legends & rocket league would work)

Hi Guys, Long time lurker. I've had my main build finished for a while with a Skylake 6700k, but was craving building a small PC ever since I saw Luke and Linus cram a Titan X in the shoe box, so I thought I would share my SFF build with you guys. The objective of my SFF build was the smallest I could get without compromises. Actually, only compromise I was willing to do is going with air cooling and obviously no SLI, and I wanted a case that was simple to work it, with a PCI-e riser and extension so that I could mount the card vertically to the mobo, and I found the Silverstone RVZ02. I've hooked the build to a 55" Samsung 4K Television in my home office. This is mainly a steam gaming and video streaming station (Netflix, Youtube etc). I was able to manage 60hz with HDMI 2.0. Still have some cable management to do on the desk and tv but that's pretty much it. Hope you like it, it's a pretty straight forward build with nothing special, but I'm very happy with it. That board is small! Next to an iPhone 6S Plus M.2 Mounted SFS PSU next to a regular Corsair 760 and an M.2 stick CPU, Ram and Cooler mounted. Color of the fan didn't fit the rest of the color scheme, will evetually hunt for a 92mm fan in black/red. Prepping the case Mobo and GPU mounted Working on cable management, forgot to take a final shot but at the end it looked quite tidy and clean considering the space. Size compared to an Xbone It's alive! Posted on first try. Not sure why it was showing 40c, it now idles at around 29. A bit high, might try to resit the CPU and redo thermal paste again. High 40's under load. On the desk, need to work on cables a little, purchased a white plastic tunnel for the wall, need to install when I get time Let me know what you think, feedback and criticism welcome

1. Budget and Location: I currently live in Dubai, but I have access to lots of parts, so that probably won't be an issue. My current budget is 1900 USD MAXIMUM, and would be better if it is lower. 2. Aim: I want a small portable gaming build, powerful enough to play most games(including games that came out last year and this quarter) at 1920x1200 at High/Max settings at 60fps for the next few years, then I'll drop settings, or something around that power. 3. Monitors: I'm going to be using a single monitor for now, but want to upgrade to dual monitor later on, but that will be in a few years probably. 4. Peripherals: No need for these, already have monitor, mouse, keyboard, headset, and even a mouse pad. 5. Why are you upgrading?: I currently have a 2 and a half year old laptop, that can run GTA V at lowest, 1680x1050, going around 30fps. I want to be able to play new games(Just Cause 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Mad Max, Fallout 4, etc..) and older games at 60fps high/max settings for the next few years easily, but my laptop currently can't do that for me. A bit more info on what I want: I want the build to have 16GB of RAM(DDR3/DDR4, high speed), 1TB HDD and a small 128/256GB SSD(Maybe 512 if it can fit the budget easily). Powerful Graphics Card, I don't mind either team, but Nvidia is preferred because of the software they offer, but maybe the new AMD one is good, haven't used it. If the system can remain cool I would like an OC'able CPU. I haven't built a PC before, but I have helped my friend with the parts of one, but it was regular sized, not a small one.

I made a topic a few weeks ago asking if it was possible to downsize a PC without losing a bunch of my PC parts. Now that i know i can, i need some help figuring out which parts i will need to replace and what case(s) are the best choice. First off, let me state that this PC is mostly for Autodesk Maya Photoshop, UDK and GMS, but with the occassional gaming session too. I also need to down size because of travel. Travelling 12 hours via bus across the province to get to college/come home is a huge pain in the ass when they won't let you take more then 2 "suitcases" onboard without paying like.. $150 or some bullshit and the only carry-on they'll except is like a small bag/bookbag. Currently, i have: CPU: I7-2600k (LGA1155) Motherboard: Asus P8Z68 Pro-V Gen3 (i know i'll have to replace this) RAM: 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 Corsiar Vegance @ 1600MHz GPU: EVGA GTX 480 Case: Corsair Vegance C70 (i know i'll have to replace this) PSU: OCZ ZX 1000w gold cerified (link) Storage: one 128GB SSD & two 1TB 7200RPM HDD (even though this barely matters, i added it so people don't suggest removing hard drive cages) Cooling/Fans/etc: Corsair H100i + a bunch of 120mm Corsair fans Now that i've given everyone an idea of what i have, here's the problem; I know my CPU, GPU, HDD/SSD's and fans will fit in a smaller case, however i do not know if my power supply will (fairly big) and i'm not sure if the smaller motherboards have 4 slots for RAM (as i've only ever built ATX PCs). Another big issue i'm having is picking out a case that will work fine with my H100i (as it's dual rad). I don't want to get a PC case that can't fit my GTX 480 because i needed the room for an H100i either. I've (kinda) narrowed down to about 2 cases (both corsair which is funny), the 250D mini-atx case or the 240 HAF micro-atx case and both will work with my long-ass 480 (9.5 inchs/dual-slot). So... i need some feedback. I plan on selling most of my PC parts i don't need either online or via my local classifieds in order to basically fund most of my new parts, but the main problem: i just don't know exactly what will work for me and that's where you guys come in.

Hi, RTC is reset, Bios set up default has been loaded. Alert! Power sensor failure. Strike the F1 key to continue F2 to set up the utility. Neither of these work? The screen just freezes? Can anybody help me please? Thanks Jamie
