Looking for a mid-range [About under 400€/470USD/590CAD/350£] Android phone. Hello, After my current phone Samsung A71 has experienced water/alcohol damage within a couple of months it started to be more and more unusable. (Note: Warranty won't cover anything.) I've decided to start looking for a new device, before this one is completely unusable. Before this phone I had a Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus + with the increasing sales of Xiaomi phones I started looking from there. The two Xiaomi phones that caught my eye are: Mi 11 Lite 5G Poco F3 After reading more into the phones, MIUI and remembering my own experience I am being turned off from purchasing a Xiaomi phone due to people experiencing bugs with MIUI. I do not want to install custom ROMs also. This is why I am asking for help to look for another alternative, gain more information and maybe reconsider listed or other Xiaomi phones. --- I plan to use the phone to watch YouTube, browse Reddit & the Internet and other apps. I don't do much gaming on the phone, besides occasional casual mobile games that shouldn't really require a lot. Having an amazing camera doesn't really mater, but it is still good to have a camera that would take good photos from time to time. Since I use the phone a lot it would be nice if it lasted the whole day. Furthermore I want the phone to be **reliable** and not complicated to use. Also if you are recommending a phone you use please share your positive and negative experience with it as well. Thank you! --- Region: EU, Lithuania.

I am looking to buy a laptop in the £700 ($900) range. I dont want it to look like a gamers laptop, but would like it to be capable of gaming (obv not AAA titles) just some of the good titles from the last couple years. I dont need to be playing 'ultra' everything setting at 120 fps. Just looking for something practical, that can also do some light/medium gaming without masses of RGB and huge logos p.s. I can get student discounts thanks

I am looking for a mid-range Android phone for my father. He's been using the budget Sumsung ($100'ish) and I want to upgrade him. He won't be playing any games or much media. Mainly he uses the phone, apps like Starbucks, weather, etc. The budget Samsung he has is fine except the UI lags a lot, and things hitch quite often. I don't want to spend $500 on this because he just doesn't need it. I'm looking for something in the $300 range. Suggestions? Thanks

Hello LTT forums! Me and my friend were having a discussion about what would be the ideal office workstation for engineers. The purpose of the workstation is mainly for general office work purposes. Now the catch is, the workstation must be affordable. Can you give us any advice what would be the ideal build for high end and for the mid-range so that we could compare it.

Hi, I'm from India on the lookout for a good mid-range android phone that'd last me for about 3 years. I am eyeing at pixel 3a and OnePlus 7t or I might wait for pixel 4a but it's kinda confusing because of the gap between their specs and camera quality. So which one really is a better device out of the two? Or any other recommendations? Currently I've been using Xiaomi Redmi Note 5pro (4/64, Snapdragon 636) for the past 18 months and it gets the job done. But the camera is average at best. I've attached sample pictures of day and night for reference. The software is good compared to anything in its price range (14,000₹/about 200$) but kinda wonky at some things. The usage and requirements Daily and frequently: Ofcourse calling Streaming movies and shows Photography Social media apps and browsing Music/audiobooks/podcasts on the go Reading Rarely: Playing casual games (nothing competitive like pubg) Photoshop/Lightroom/PicsArt Priority: Good camera Preferably no moving parts like a pop up camera And an easy going battery life (about 6-7 hours of screen time on 1 charge)

Well, I'd like some sugestions on a mid-range gaming build, preferably with good upgrade possibilities. I can't give a exact price tag, as I live in Brazil and prices don't translate well.

After few months of struggling without laptop at uni, it came time to buy one.Budget is around 1000 Euro, CPU:i5 8300h ,Ryzen equivalent or higher, GPU:atleast 4 GB of memory(preferably NVidia coz Blender),SSD and probably the most important: Screen. As color accurate as possible (hopefully 100% sRGB) and dE approaching 2. And design better be minimalist, not gamery

First let me tell you of my build: GPU: Sapphire PULSE RX 580 (8GB) CPU: Ryzen 3 3200g (Plan on upgrading to Ryzen 5 3600 in the near future) w/Stock cooler Motherboard: MSI Tomahawk MAX B450-M Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB (3200) PSU: Haven't decided yet I want a case that focuses more on airflow and more importantly, good stock fans (I don't really have the money to buy decent aftermarket fans atm) so what case (~100, maybe a little more or less) has good airflow, build quality (this is my first build) and decent enough stock fans to hold me over for a couple months or so? I've heard about the Phanteks P400a for ~$90, and the Lian Li Lancool 2 Mesh (though its 150 bucks).

Hi ! This is my first ever post on A forum, I hope it's decently formatted and written... I'm here in resarch of advise. Next year I will start a degree* in computer science and I guess I will need a laptop; the thing is that my intention to install linux on it (probably Manjaro), as I'm using it in main computer almost fulltime. My budget is between 500€ and 700€; yea that's mid-range if you're living in Spain like me. I've looked up System76 and Slimbook's laptops but their prices are some hundreds above my maximum allowed budget and maybe a bit overkill in some aspects (I don't need 64GB RAM or 2TB Storage lol). Now I am searching for "normal" budget laptops that could miraculously run linux decently: I think Acer Aspire 3 could make it for me but I'm concerned about linux compatibility obviously, I don't need more than 8gb RAM and a ryzen5 at this point is just getting something in that range of specs that werks. Has anybody some laptop models, suggestions, advices or warnings to share? Things that I should avoid buying, things that I should take in count...? I know a bit about computers I'm not know much about buying laptops, even less for linux. I'm also accepting advices related to studing computer science. I have had a look at the forum and it seems pretty cool, I'm sad I took so long to join

My old Camera that I've been holding onto for what used to be the rare occasion that I go on a trip has finally died. And I'm so clueless when it comes to Camera tech that I need a little help... First, the reason why trips are no longer "rare" is because my life has changed to the point where regular or semi-regular trips are a norm, plus using it for more prosumer activities. So here's what I'd like/need. - 16 Megapixel Minimum - Easy to travel with and take out on a whim while in a moving vehicle or at cons - Useable for taking amateur-ish stills of products - Rechargeable battery (with ability to buy spares) is a bonus, but not necessary.

Hello everyone, long time watcher, and first-time poster. Reddit failed me so I thought I would finally join and reach out to the LTT community. I am looking to upgrade my monitor setup. I currently have an Acer R240HY http://a.co/9dMb62O and some cheap 1366 x 768 monitor I found at a thrift store. My use case for my home desktop is as follows: I am a Front-End Web Developer, gamer, and just started doing digital art (mainly pixel art). My desktop config is a i7 2600k matched with a GTX 1070. I play everything from Minecraft with my wife and friends, older titles, newer titles, and casually some "competitive" games. I have been going back and forth between getting a bigger monitor with a better resolution for more screen space for coding and art. To wanting higher refresh rate for gaming since I have a 1070 that could handle some higher frames. Though I am trying to stay away from TN panels because I hear a lot of negative things about them. I have never used a higher refresh monitor or had a monitor higher than 1080p, so I don't have any reference as to whether 75hz is worth upgrading to or if 144 is the best to upgrade to. I am not even sure if getting higher refresh rate is even worth it for me. My budget would be preferably under $400. I have been hunting around and have come up with a couple options, but please, if you have other monitor ideas share them! BenQ GW2765HT http://a.co/gbwFiKX $300 LG 29Uc88-B http://a.co/1Qmy704 $370 Dell S2417DG YNY1D http://a.co/enAovZf $370 Asus PB277Q http://a.co/1JCZbxI $314 So any advice you all could impart would be greatly appreciated! I am leaning towards ditching the higher refresh rate and get higher resolution and a larger monitor, but if you all can convince me otherwise I am ready to hear your opinions!

hello everyone, i am planning to build a pc(thanks to LTT) as my current pc is kind of slow and was a pre-build. so i want something just perfect for myself. i live in India and this is important since not all components are available here and prices also varies a lot. the currency is INR. please give a few options as some may not be available here. my purpose is a gaming pc which can handle games such as Batman Arkham Knight, nfs games, COD titles, etc at high settings. my current focus is on the rig not peripherals. budget is around 700 to 800 usd, inr 50k to 60k i am planning for intel i5 6600/6600k; nvidia gtx 750ti(by asus); z170 motherboard probably from asus as well. i currently have one monitor and will have at most 2 1080p. it would be better to have a window case, i am not upgrading my hdd and will add 256gb ssd so give some suggestions on that as well. and accordingly a good pso for these components with some room for upgrades. also i am not planning to have dual graphics card so no sli. pls give a few alternatives for each component for availability and if possible visit these sites which are the major sellers of pc components in india and list the parts link or cost. thank you all for any help you provid http://amazon.in fhttp://flipkart.com

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($164.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($24.88 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($176.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($38.99 @ SuperBiiz) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($67.88 @ OutletPC) Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($73.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270X 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card ($147.19 @ Micro Center) Power Supply: Fractal Design Integra M 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($96.98 @ Newegg) Other: Game Daemon 6004 ($55.00) Total: $841.80 This is my gaming/everyday setup. I am currently playing only 1080p Diablo 3, HotS and Lineage 2 and dipped my head into some Fallout 4 and GTA V, on reasonable settings. I've been thinking of pimping it out a little. I will be getting the NZXT Kraken x61 as a birthday gift (basically free), and thought I might buy a flashier case (H440, Enthoo Luxe) and some LED fans/strips just for show. But then it got me thinking, is there any way I could spend that money on a possible upgrade? The first thing that came to mind is evidently, a new GPU, but do I really NEED it? With the total amount that I would spend on glamour parts I could probably get a GTX 970 (I wouldn't want to buy a mid GPU just for few FPS increase) and now I'm stuck on what to do. (basically, is it worth buying a gtx 970 for gaming 2-3 hours after work?) I'm planning on building a high-end Intel/Nvidia pc late next year, and for the amount of gaming I'm currently doing, my current setup will probably(?) be ok until then. I'll probably end up re-using the new case I'm going to buy now. So, I just want to hear some opinions from the more experienced users here, should I buy parts just for looks(maybe even re-use the Kraken and/or case in the future) or should I get an upgrade(if so, what?) for ~300$? btw: I'm from Germany, so prices would be in euros, evidently. I just didn't know how to set PCPartpicker to euro.

Hey guys, Looking for suggestions for a good mid-range case for around $75 US / £50 GB / $100 CAD. It's for a FreeNAS server, with low CPU utilisation / low heat, so looking for quiet over cooling. I'm thinking of the Corsair Carbide 100R Silent, or maybe up to the Fractal Design Define S - but wanted to canvas other ideas first. Many thanks in advance!

Article on Android Central about its announcement First-look article on Android Central Hands-on article on Android Central Wileyfox Swift It seems that the king of affordable smartphones, the Moto G, has, what seems to be, a decent competition now. The biggest pro for the Swift is its cheapest storage option, with 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM, is slightly cheaper than Moto G's 16GB variant and just slightly more expensive than the 8GB variant. Wileyfox Storm The Wileyfox Storm is Idol 3 (5.5" variant) & Moto X Play's competitor when it comes to specs and price. And it's cheaper than the Moto X Play. It's design somewhat reminds me of OnePlus One and Two, and OPPO Find 7. I just hope they didn't sacrifice too much stuff for its price. Hopefully it'll attract people's attention in a positive way.

I bought the premium edition of battlefield 4 on sale a few days ago and have been having some issues with it. A few minutes into every game i join, it turns into a slideshow. Fraps doesn't work in bf4 for some reason so i can't tell you the exact fps figures. I tried every fix in the following link- http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2390044/battlefield-fps-drop-stuttering-lag-fix.html (except for step 4) which seemed to work at first, but when i fired up the game the next day it was back to square one. I also noticed that the game only uses between 1 and 2.5 gigs of ram in the task manager even when i launch the 64 bit version of the thing. My specs are as follows- FX-6300@stock R9-270 OC'd to 1ghz 2x4GB Kingston hyper-x blu 1600mhz asus m5a97 le r2.0 1tb of storage (HDD) NOTE- I'm running the latest version of catalyst (15.4) and i use mantle as the default API in-game; along with a combination of high and ultra settings running and 1366x768.
