I need a new headset as my Turtle Beach Stealth 700 is basically broken. I looked for some good headsets and mics and i found these two. Is this any good? If you have an alternative please may it be near that price range. My girlfriend and I currently have an issue where we can't be on the same Discord call without each others voices bleeding into each other's microphones. We are sitting back to back to for right now, but are moving apartments soon and we won't know exactly how we'll be sitting after that. We're looking for a better set of budget friendly ($100 or less each) microphones that has great noise cancelation as to not pick each other up. Im open to using USB or XLR. Ideally I would like something that we can put on mic stands so that the microphones are taking up desk space too, but I understand if that's pushing the budget. Im also open to using used equipment.

Hi, I'm currently looking for a microphone under 400$. The current use I have for it would be to record inside a room with some foam panels on the walls to reduce echo. -I would like to avoid having a microphone on the frame of the video so I was thinking of a LAV, shotgun or pencil style microphone. Also if the microphone needs a XLR interface I would appreciate if anyone could give some recommendation on those too. Currently I was looking into the ROGE NT5 microphone but there are many other mics out there I might not be aware of and are worth considering. -Thanks! Atzuki First post on this forum! BYE.

so I used to have a headset from turtle beach was an ok set with average sound but the one claim to fame it had was a really good in line control puck that had indipendent volume control for game audio discord audio and no latency feedback of the mic into the headphones and these were all super convinient I have since upgraded over the years to a usb condenser mic and some audio technica headphones but it would be pretty awsome if there was some kind of cheap mixer or something that would give me the funcitonality that the old turtle beaches had. beeing a total nube when it comes to audio gear and as the title suggests I don't know if anything like this actually exists but if anyone can give me some advice on this that would be pretty awsome.

So, my previous headset recently died and i want to buy a microphone and a wireless headset to have a clean looking desktop and start streaming a bit. I chose the Astro A50 but for the mic i really don't know what to buy ... I first wanted to buy a Yeti X but it's sold out ... Also, my mom doesn't want to buy things under 150~ euros cuz its "cheap" and won't last long ... Also, I know that XLR gives more possibilities but i dont have a lot of place on my desk for an amp ... Could you guys give me advices and some good mics/amps ? ^^ thanks

I'm looking for a keyboard, mouse, and headset that will last me a long time and not WAY TOO expensive. I am a big fan of the Razer Ornata, but I don't really like the wrist rest. Can you take it off? Is the Razer Mamba the best mouse they have? What kind of headset should I also get? Thank you.

So I just ordered a HyperX Cloud Stinger and got it today, and I ran a test in Audacity to check out the mic quality, and it did just fine as far as picking up my voice, however, it seems to have a decent amount of background "static" sound. I know this isn't how it is supposed to sound because I watched multiple reviews of this headset and I didn't hear even a trace of what I am hearing in their videos. Is there any way to remove this static? If you know how to make this work better that would be great. Also here is the mic test that I was using to compare my results with. Skip to 5:00 for the Mic test.

Hey guys I haven't been on in a while but, I am working on doing a podcast and have been using one mic and am deciding to move to two, however I'm a bit confused on how to do that. I record useing my laptop but I am of the understanding that I need a sort of sound mixer for that but I'm confused as to exactly what. I've found this below http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHMX400?siid=38044&-RgyiwglKLbKs7uR3h8nhlmyzUYtYGVfXXV8uRVSWwCXRuRoCkowQAvD_BwE= Questions: Is this the right idea? If yes will it work or is it too cheap/bad quality What would you reccomend if no to any above. Thank you I'd appreciate it

Hello, Fellow Techies, I am in desperate need of help and I actually have a $20 Bounty on the Table for the first person to give me an actual work Solution for my Ongoing Problem... I use my Condensor XLR Microphone through a Focusrite 6i6 USB Audio Interface which is connected to my Windows 10 PC w/ an Intel 7700k CPU, GTX 1070 GPU, and 16 Ram, which has my ELGATO HD60s Capture Card connected to it which is also coming from my PlayStation 4. When I am recording live audio or Voiceovers for my Videos and Streams I am A OK.. The problem comes about when I am playing online on my PS4 in a Party with friends like when we do our PS_Lovers Community Game Nights and we are in PS4 Party Chat. I should be able to also record my friend's voices as well as mine using the ELGATO CAPTURE LINK Cable that I purchased extra but I have yet to be able to figure out the correct combination of connections and settings and programs to use to correctly get all of this to work. Like I said i have a $20 PSN Card up for grabs for the Person who is able to help me record Party Chat using all of the components mentioned like I am supposed to be able to. If I used a USB Microphone like a Blue Yeti or Snowball then I wouldn't have this problem, I have seen videos how to set something like that up but because I am using a USB Audio Interface I am not able to get this all to work so i can also record my Party Chat which is very important to me for my future videos.. Please Help Linus Tech Tips Community... p.s. Yes I have already Google Searched this and watched many YouTube videos and still no luck..

Me and two other friends are wanting to start a channel and one of the features of this channel will be a weekly news podcast type video, much like WAN Show. However we are on an EXTREMELY tight budget and only have one audio input. We need some sort of microphone that has USB or 3.5mm jack connection that would be able to pick up all three of our voices (all three of us would be in front or diagonal to the front of the mic) from a distance, more than like 4-6 feet, 10 feet at most. Please leave suggestions. Keep in mind that we have a very tight budget so anything more than 60 USD will be hard for us to be able to pay for. Thank you.

Hey, peeps so I'm having some issues with a new microphone I acquired. I bought the Rode NT-1 condenser microphone with the xlr output and I wanted it mainly to use for gaming and speaking with other people in-game. But I've run into a problem that my voice is only being heard through the left channel. (or the right if I switch it) So the chain is this: Rode NT-1 (xlr) -> Focusrite scarlet 2i2 (usb) ->(via usb connection) PC. My question is, how do I convert my microphone to a mono signal in REAL TIME?

Hey guys, I am a jazz trombonist and am starting to sing and wish to record both singing and trombone. I am a student and can only spend about $110 AUD on a mic and audio interface. I have already chosen an audio interface, the Behringer u-phoria um2x2 for $65 AUD. Should I go with this the BM-700 for $49 AUD or this the berhinger xm8500 for $38 AUD? My thoughts on the BM-700 is apart from a XLR-XLR cable I wont have to buy anything but it could be a bit hit and miss with quality. My thoughts on the xm8500 is it is a name brand with good quality but I will have to wait and save and up some more money before I can get it cause ill have to get a xlr cable, stand and pop filter. What are your thoughts? EDIT: I’m going to start a poll

Hello everyone. I am writing this post to pose a question. A few months ago, I have purchased a Shure SM-58. One is pictured below. Since these are legendary microphones, as Freddie Mercury and lots of other rock singers have used them, I found a website that sells colorized versions, an example of what they can do is also pictured below. Is there any way, though, to colorize/customize my microphone that I have without just purchasing a new one? Also, not breaking the bank with this project would be amazing. Thanks! -KCG SM58.jpg.jfif

What Mics are they using in scrapyard wars when they're just walking around, or out of shot and the mic pics up just fine. I assume they're lavaliers, but, does anyone know the model/brand mics they are. The quality is so good. I want to price some out. I'd pay a pretty penny.

So for some reason my new microphone i bought with a stand and a pop filter is worse then my hyper x cloud 2 mic, the new microphone picks up way more of the keyboard then the hyper x, why did i even buy a pop filter if it doenst do anything? Another thing is that im very quiet and have to set the level of the mic to 100 so im loud enough ( https://gyazo.com/67dbeaad3b695e2cf2dd9d5172a66393 ), which i think causes another isse: its rushing (or hissing?) pretty loud. 1 thing that i also miss is that there is no fifth tab on the top of the settings for the mic ( https://gyazo.com/5aae2103279c3e63d13f45249dd477cc ), why do i not have the option to supress rushing like on other mics ive had? Another thing is that my friends said its echoing a bit. This is the first mic on a stand so maybe i have to position it diffrent? I tried out having it to the left of my face. haveing it up left to my screen up left to the keyboard, but it all makes no diffrence. Right now i am very close the the mic and still have to set the level to 100 so you can here me, ive also installed the latest realtek audio driver. At this point i guess ill just send it back. Someone has ideas to fix my problems or can help ? Thanks !

No mic... and I mean NO mic AT ALL will work. I have a Yeti USB mic and a headset with a 3.5mm mic. Neither one works. I uninstalled drivers and everything... what can cause this?! It was working 2 days ago..... MSI gaming pro carbon x370 mobo windows 10 pro windows updated recently. Maybe that is causing it? How to fix? I am desperate. edit: If someone could move this to troubleshooting that would be great. I accidentally posted in wrong spot.

I use to have a pair of SteelSeries H Wireless. However, like many I experienced horrible hissing/static in the left ear cup and had to return them. I recently picked up a pair of Logitech G933 and am experiencing the same thing in both ears to a much lesser degree (Thankfully in the G933s it is actually bearable). In both cases the noise is particularly prevalent when the volume is up all the way but nothing is playing from the computer (I understand this is not a common scenario). Seeing as similar problems occurred on both of the wireless headphones I owned I was wondering if this is simply a known problem with the technology or if I am just unlucky. Is there a way to fix it? I never had this problem with standard wired headsets in the past.

So trying to buy a new microphone and I only got one chance at this. I need a mic that obviously sounds good for single use, and for group use. If I have friends over and we starting yelling a little and laughing while I record I don't want the mic to screech. I have the snowball now and every time me and my friends get loud it sounds awful. So right now I'm torn between the Shure SM7b and the AT2035. Please help. What mic do you guys think would work for my situation and maybe others. HELP. PLISS.....

I want to start using 2 mics on my talk show that I stream to twitch. For sound quality, user experience, and overall connection to the computer which one is better? Is it ill-advised to use 1 usb mic and then a few attached to an audio interface? Thoughts? Price per performance? You know what to do.
-
I want to know the differences in their performance in microphones. Here are some key questions: Which one is best when using a lot of mics? As in, stage use or large talk shows. Which one delivers the best sound quality for the price? Is getting a good XLR/MIDI mic and separate Audio interface better then getting a single good USB mic? In the long run, is compatibility based on operating system going to affect long term performance and compatibly of the USB mic? Does using a MIDI to XLR connector bad? Can you get Audio Interfaces/dacs that use both XLR and MIDI in order to use both kinds of mics and instruments?
-
I am looking for a good mic for a talk show (like WAN show with 2 people speaking into one mic). I am eventually planning on expanding the number of mics I use up to 3 or 4 so future expand-ability is key. I know XLR or MIDI are great for multiple mics so my first thought was to get XLR mics but my mother (she happens to be a professional musician) suggested I get a Rode Podcaster because it had some of the best sound quality. She thinks that the entire industry is moving to USB but I think she thinks that because she has only ever had to use 1 mic at a time. To get right the point: Is a USB only-mic like the Rode Podcaster no going to work well when I want to start adding more mics Is the Seiren going to have better sound quality? Is the Seiren Pro's MIDI connection really worth choosing it over the Podcaster? Which one is going to perform better with multiple people speaking into the mic from different directions? Are you even able to use multiple USB mics? Is it suggested? Any thoughts are really helpful.

Hello. I have recently bought a Samson Meteor Mic. Because I live in Australia, it was a great choice for the price! After deciding to buy a boom arm, I wasn't able to find one that will fit my microphone! Please Comment Any Links! Thanks.
