Drawboard PDF was a popular PDF mark-up tool. You could easily add pages and annotations to PDF documents and it was widely used in university, school and similar environments. It was priced around 10 units of the local currency (Dollar, Euro or whatever) for the perpetual "Pro"-Version. Development for this version was pretty much halted years ago and new features where only available with a subscription model. The distinction between the perpetual "Pro" tier and the subscription model was arbitrary at best. You could add blank pages and pages from other PDFs with the "Pro" tier for example, but chequered or lined pages were locked behind the subscription model. Also cloud features were a big point of the subscription model. I personally didn't really care for the restrictions and the majority of users probably didn't care as well. All of this changed on March 1st, 2023 when Drawboard removed the "Pro" tier in favour of an all subscription-based model (with the cheapest subscription now being $50 annually). They have a free tier (and downgraded "Pro" users to the free tier) but most of the tools and functionality of the "Pro" tier are now behind a paywall. Tools are limited to 7, you have a limited colour selection, pressure sensitivity is gone and different line-types are also at least $50 per year. For me - and probably many other people - it's simply unusable now. Which isn't too much of a problem. A perpetual license doesn't include free updates forever, right? Right, so let's revert back to the last version without the subscription model (Version 6.35.6) and just accept no updates moving forward. Except you can't revert back. The Microsoft Store doesn't allow you to install previous versions of this software. After the update reached your installation of Drawboard PDF, you are s**t out of luck and there is no going back. The developer is exploiting the Microsoft Store and turning it into a hostage situation. You either pay for the subscription or you can f*** off. Your perpetual license is effectively revoked. There is a way to get an old install package via this tool (thanks to the reddit user"Fly_Virtual"), but the "newest" version you can get is mid-2021. This is how modern software distribution can be abused by developers. BTW, it should be noted that the change to a subscription model did not come with a new major release or a bunch of new features. It was a "maintenance patch" (from 6.36.6 to 6.36.7).

I recently decided to make a modded version of the Windows 10 iso using the MSMG toolkit, and I removed most microsoft software for privacy reasons. (following this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6XPff38iSc; i removed mostly the same stuff as him but kept some things) The microsoft store is still functional with free software, but for paid games/software (eg: forza horizon 4 which is registered to my microsoft account) i cannot download. i try to sign in, but when i press the add account button, it doesnt work. I also tried opening the windows store in a browser, signing in, then pressing install (which opens up the windows store, but it still does not allow me to download it.) is there a way to sign into the microsoft store while still remaining private from windows? also, logitech g hub does not want to install. this could be a seperate issue, but when I open the installer, it just get stuck on installing, but once i actually open the program, it is unusable.

So, i'm an animation student with an OMEN 15 series laptop, RTX 2060, Core i7 8750H CPU, 16 gb ram and with Windows 10 Home. My problem is that for some reason, before I reset my laptop, Microsoft Store had stopped working, and all apps related and downloaded by the store stopped working entirely. I tried to reset the store, nothin' happened. Then I ran the the troubleshooter and nothing. After that, I tried the WSReset and the differente reset and re-install PowerShell Codes. Nothing happened and nothing worked. Now i've reset fully, deleting everything on my laptop (Don't worry, I backed-up my important files on a hard drive) and had a clean installation of Windows 10 Home. Tried opening Microsoft Store again. Nada. Tried resetting and cleaning the Microsoft Store and clean it's cache and everything, still nothing. That is why I recur to LTT Forum, I need you guys in my life. Thanks in advance!

I purchased Forza Motosports 7 ultimate edition because it was on sale for 28$ and it won't let me install it. when I click the install button and select my drive it wont do anything. the things that i have tried to do have been listed below. -Resetting Microsoft store -using Microsoft Powershell -Uninstalling and reinstalling microsoft store -Resetting Windows 10 -wiping my drive and having a fresh install of windows 10 please ask as many questions and i have contacted microsoft support and that didnt help

The windows store, Python (which i downloaded from the windows store) and the Xbox app are all not working. They just open up and then instantly close, or sometimes they don't even open but I see a tab open in my task bar for half a second. I've done everything possible to reset it, delete temporary files, remove the cache, etc.

microsoft more like poopie posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Trying to use microsoft store and get raw image codec but when I open the microsoft store app it just does the loading circle thing forever as far as im concerned. Going on the browser microsoft store, when i click download it just redirects to the app which once again wont load. I tried all solutions listed in here to no avail https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/microsoft-store-wont-open/ac3e7d57-e5b4-49f9-8a78-f5be9621797f My windows OS Build seems to be like 0.030 ish behind my friends pc and when i go to check for updates it says one of the update services is not running properly and to troubleshoot windows updates which I did. It says no problem was detected. Tried restarting to be clear. Any insight? System specs: windows 10 64bit ryzen 5 2600x corsair rgb 16gb ram cx650m psu (corsair) lian li case (forgot the name) corsair water cooler h100x prime x370 pro mobo 6 fans running fine (2 of which on the radiator for the h100x) (and yes i know its probably overkill i just like it)- 3 replies

Hi all, My brother has Forza 4 downloaded through the Microsoft Store on his account on my computer. I also own it, but can't play it unless I download it on my account, and I would really rather not download an 80gb game twice. I doesn't show up at all on my account at all. I've tried to find a solution, but googling seems to only find people trying to share apps between Microsoft accounts, not between Windows users. Is there any way we can share the install between us? Thanks in advance

So lately I have been playing alien isolation, all of my saves were fine and all until I reached chapter 5 and I started getting these errors, I have tried everything from deleting, cleaning out my hard drive of any junk, uninstalling and installing again to no avail. I decided to start a new game since I thought my game save might have corrupted, so I went on and did it but not even loading into the intro scene, the game gave me the same error??? How can I fix this? I can't seem to find anything relevant on this error. (FYI: I downloaded the game through the Xbox Beta app since the game came free with the Xbox Game Pass)

Just upgraded my CPU, with clean install of Windows. I DDU and installed the latest Nvidia driver for the GTX 1660 Super. But I'm missing Nvidia Control Panel. It seems that you have to download it from the Microsoft store? Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks.

Hi, I am completely new to this forum, and i joind in hopes to find a solution to a problem that i am having with Microsoft Store and how/where it stores my games. I have looked through some similar post in this forum but none that i could find had the solution that I was looking for. This is my setup: Win 10 - 10.0.17763 Build 17763 Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz Motherboard - MSI Z370 KRAIT GAMING (MS-7B46) Ram - 32GB Graphics card - MSI 1080ti trio Boot drive (C:) - NVMe Samsung 970 evo 250GB Storage drive 1 (O:) - 2x SSD Samsung 500GB in raid 0 Storage drive 2 (P:) - 2x HDD 4TB in raid 0 Games tried to install is: - Forza Horizon 4 - Forza Horizon 3 - Gears of War - Age of Empires: Definitive Edition What do I want to happen: - Store all games installed on my computer on the HDD as my NVMe does not have sufficient space for windows and games. What have I done: - Changed default save location for "apps" in Windows to HDD - Tried to gain access to "WindowsApps" folder as Administrator, but it did not help - Formatted SSD disc and tried to set as default again, did not help - All storage is formatted NTFS - Tried to call Microsoft support without any results What is happening: - When launching the game if installed on NVMe, the game runs fine - When launching the game if installed on HDD or SSD, the game tries to launch and a for a brief second the a game window opens for then to crash to desktop Thank you all for taking a look and thank you for helping out if you have any idea:)

Hello, I am in need of great assistance. I recently downloaded Forza 7 on my pc through the microsoft store (what a mess), and after waiting 31 hours to download a 100GB monster on a 10Mb/s connection, I finally sat down to enjoy 4k HDR racing when (after displaying splash art) crashed. My first though was: "Hey i'm a techy person, I can do this, I watch linus tech tips so i'm basically a god." So I smashed that windows key and went to event viewer. I scrolled through and found the application error (Posted at the bottom of this article) and immediately resulted to Google. I found that I am not alone (over a few thousand people have had this). I religiously read the forza forum where people had the same problem and went through the solutions (The link to the forum is at the bottom as well). A big problem was found regarding the Windows service PushToInstall and how switching the startup type to automatic would fix all the issues since the problem is microsoft's store. Anyway, so I followed the steps, but never fixed the issue. The service always remains stopped and even when I manually start it, it says its running and after about 30 seconds its at the stopped state again. I contacted microsoft and go figure had this person who I was explaining in detail what I have done, what I have found, and possible issues I think are at fault, and was just told "try restarting your computer". After wasting an hour being transferred to Xbox division and back, I said fk it and am making this post to see if any people who are more knowledgeable then me can help me resolve my issues. Since my internet speed is slow and its such a large file, I want to try to leave out reinstalling until a last resort. Anyway thank you for any advice/help, I will provide any logs needed. Hi, since reinstalling Windows 2 weeks ago, i get the message: "Give us a minute, we´re updating mail/calendar." when opening the app mail or calendar (one app in Microsoft Store). This can be resolved for a week by uninstalling the app, but by doing that I get signed out of every mail account and the settings are not saved. Any ideas? Could it be a Windows bug I should report? Thanks in advance.

I just recently changed the location of the programs files and program files (x86) to my secondary storage drive by using mklink. I've heard that some people have issues after doing so, but their issues don't seem to be mine. I can't seem to use windows store, photo viewer, movies & tv, email, or groove music. This isn't a terrible thing to sacrifice for more storage space on my OS ssd, but I'm still interested in knowing if there's any ways to fix this. My issue is simple, any time I try to open the program, or a file connected to the program, it will start up, immediately crash and if I used a file it'll tell me (file location) this app won't start. During troubleshooting I also found that apparently the services don't exist for at the very least WS, there should be a license and some other service, but they don't exist. I assume this has to do with the problem and that the problem is related to the directory move and mklink. it also looks like I can't access certain things, such as in the default apps area, I can't set defaults by app. it moves to the setting area and then closes. This may make things more difficult, so any ideas are welcome. Thank you for any help, I've done all simple troubleshooting such as resetting the apps and such, I'm not interested in performing a reset or fresh install, worst comes to worst I can just move everything back to my OS ssd, however I'm fine with using third party programs as default apps when possible. Hey everyone I'm looking to buy a new HP laptop to replace my budget Toshiba. It looks like the Microsoft Store has some good prices compared to Bestbuy or similar. The problem is I'm not sure about the warranty. They're offering a "PerformanceGuard" protection plan which gives a 2 year extended warranty. Anyone have any experience with this? How does it compare to warranties from Dell and Apple?

After downloading FH3 for the 5th time, (had issues with downloading) I tried it on my SSD, my raid array, and my 1tb HDD, it always seems to get stuck around 9-89%, the following are my system specs: -i3-6100 -8gb ddr4 -msi B250 bazooka micro atx mobo -600 watt psu -XFX rx580 8gb -Windows 10, latest -DirectX 12 if anyone has had this issue please help, Billy_G

So I bought cuphead when it initially came out on my Xbox (yeah I swing for both teams, get at me) and I mostly got it so when I visited him I can install it on his Xbox and play here or there. That said since I've been playing it with him I've never finished the game and want to play through it on my computer considering it has the play anywhere feature. I installed from the store and launched the game, everything seemed fine. And I got to the title screen and I got no response from my keyboard. I figured its probably on reading inputs fro my controller and when pressed a button on my Xbox controller, the game froze and the crashed to desktop. I haven't been able to find a good solution online because I figure it has something to do with the windows store version and most people are sane enough to buy it through steam when they wanted to get it. I have tried getting it to launch in compatibility mode and in administrator mode after changing the ownership and permissions of the folders and files from then windows store and that cause the game to not launch at all. I'm sincerely at a loss here. The only other thought I have as to what could be affecting it would be Zadig for dolphin but I doubt that because my controller works with other games but I can only test steam.

Hi, Kinda new to the forums, Where should i post this kind of topic ? I am working on a way around being able to Block Windows 10 pro Store and Metro App's for Standard users and would love some help. This feature was removed and now only enterprise has this feature. (I know its not the most exciting thing in the world compared to Titan X's and stuff) Will add more Method Soon/Tommorow. Quick Version : Use a free application called "take ownership" and take ownership of the Metro/Windows Store folder and block Standard users from accessing the folder or reading or writing from the folder. (kinda works but still has kinks will go into more details when i have screenshots and such) Thanks Guys

I've been trying to make an insurance claim on my Surface Book for the last two weeks and haven't been able to. Is anyone/has anyone been in the same boat as me? I've been told five times that I would receive a call back in 24 hours and that the issue had been escalated with no progress. They keep telling me they're having an error checking the device's eligibility, and I feel like it has something to do with the fact that the device shipped to me was defective, and when I swapped it for a working one in-store they did not move my insurance to the new device. I've since had it moved, but now they can't process my claim. What do I do now? I need my device working so I can sell my other laptop.
