Budget (including currency): 300 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Valheim, eventually more demanding games and school work. Other details (1660TI, I5 9600k, 550W PSU) Hey guys, So I've upgraded my gaming PC and got 1660TI, a i5 9600k, a 550W PSU to spare so I'm looking into building a computer for my kids who's going to play mostly Minecraft and Valheim. I was looking into 1151 socket motherboards and realized that they were way rarer or more expansive than I thought they would be. Found a microATX for 60$, but I don't know much about the different sizes of mobo, should I go micro? Thanks

Let me start from saying that I'm not sure if this is even possible I'm looking for a small case for a home server build to replace my old HP Microserver Gen8. Initially I looked at Silverstone DS380B as I was exploring an ITX build. However, I ran into severe limitations of ITX: ITX + Ryzen isn't a good combination with just one PCIe I can run it daily without a GPU it adds another headache if I need to change anything in the BIOS APU isn't a solution as then I cannot get ECC Coolers clearance Because of these I started swinging towards microATX instead (price of motherboards being a factor as well). I have very loose specs for the case: microATX 3.5" bays - the more the better, I don't care if they're hot swappable/externally accessible Must fit in 13x13x15" space (33.6 x 33.6 x 39cm) to get the Wife Seal of Approval™ Can be ugly (i.e. if I can spare on a great look I will) I'm not concerned about cooling (and definitely I don't need to go water) as I'm not throwing a GPU worth more than $20 there and CPU will be used mostly in bursts. I tried looking through PCPP but there's really no way to filter by the external size. Can someone recommend any case fitting the criteria?

Hello everyone! My build is going through some changes. To be honest, its going to be almost a complete new build as the only the PSU and SSD will be kept because they were upgraded recently. Im switching to a Ryzen 7 3700x on a B550 Mortar Wifi (mATX) with 32Gb of 3200mhz. Ill keep my 1060 while no new midrange cards are available but planning to go to a 3060ti or something of that sort. Now comes the most important part, the case. My current case is a Fractal design Focus G and it would do great with those parts, Im just bored of the case and really dont like seeing mATX boards on a ATX case, so here I am asking for case recommendations. Thank you everyone! TLDR; need recommendations for mATX cases

Is the ASUS TUF GAMING B450M-PLUS II a good board? CPU will be R7 2700 at stock settings. I was looking for the Asrock B450M Steel Legend, but some people say that board has lots of issues. I remember that Buildzoid recommended this TUF board as an alternative for Micro-ATX builds.

Budget (including currency): $989.22 USD Country: Singapore Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I plan on buying this for my father's birthday so he can have an upgrade to his macbook and something which we can game together better on. Possible games are : War Thunder, EVE online, Space Engineers. I think the most intensive workload would be many excel/google sheets, but I already know this PC is more than capable to handle it. Other details This is the pc build i have done on Newegg : Dad's pc. The main reason why I am asking here is if I can somehow lower the cost without compromising much on performance. The other reason is that I am unsure of if everything fits together and works and if there are any main issues with it. Thanks in advance The resolution will be 1080/1440p and on a single monitor. 60 Hz refresh rate is fine and is what I use anyway

Peace everyone, I'm new here and trying to build myself a budget gaming pc. I've found myself a good deal on Intel core i3 9100f with an Asus H110M-K micro-ATX Intel LGA1151 Motherboard. With an asus rx580 dual OC. Can someone please tell me how your experiences were with Intel 9100f core i3? Highly appreciated.

I'm new to the forums and just want to sell my unused white Areocool DS Cube case. I also have an open box PNY GTX 650 1GB, its a terrible card, I know. My priority right now is the case though. Let me know about any good ways to sell my stuff other than Ebay and OfferUp.

Just thought you guys might find my custom designed computer case interesting. I am not sure if this is the right place for this stuff, but I can move it if necessary. If you have an comments or questions feel free to leave them here. I had a lot of fun throughout the project and may make a build log when I start my build inside of it. I would encourage others to design their own cases, just be prepared for the time commitment and you will likely need about 3 times as much material as needed to make one case, as mistakes will be made (Even my final version is far from perfect). If you are interested in making The case was made out of 1/5" plywood and 1/8" acryllic panels, cut on a laser cutter and held together with 4-40 screws and nuts. Specs of case: Horizontal Micro ATX Motherboard Two 360mm radiators in basement (Lots of room, could do push pull on super thick rads) Two 120mm fans on top 14.5x17.25x12.5 Supports Two HDD (Will just place hdd cage in bottom) and unlimited ssds (Will just hang loose, I am lazy) Supports 120mm pump mount (Basement has 120mm fan holes) Switch mounted on desk for clean ascetic and then I did not have to buy an ugly front io set Problems I encountered (Look out if you want to do something similar): Plywood panels were too thick for regular computer screws, had to countersink I made lots of simple mistakes, ended up using about 3 or 4 times as much material as expected Huge issue finding rear io information, all other specifics were on formfactors.org Correct spacing from rear panel to first motherboard mounting point (To allow for expansion card metal bar thingy) Bottom panel is only secured by screws, not the other panels, meaning you have to pick it up by the bottom solely, otherwise it will slip out. Should have moved the bottom panel up just a little bit, that way the front and back panels would wrap all the way around the bottom panel's prongs, instead of just on three sides. So here is a video of the case, feel free to skip around: Some Pics:

I'm looking to go portable with a computer i built awhile ago. It has a full sized psu, and a full sized rx480. Is there a case under 100$ that has a handle, is micro atx, and preferably a tower, not a cube but it's not necessary. Anybody got any suggestions?

I'm trying to find an mATX motherboard that will support a 7th gen Pentium straight out of the box without a BIOS update, because I don't have a Skylake chip lying around to run a BIOS update with. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks.

I have an old XFX Nvidia Geforce 9300 microATX motherboard. I want to rebuild it as it's got a Q6600 Core 2 Duo Quad Core, and Nvidia GTX 760. The system runs really well, except Windows 10 is a little glitchy at times with it. What I'd like to do with this system is put it into a nice compact case that can take a tower cooler and that GTX card. I am looking at getting a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO cooler for it, but I'd love to get a nice case for it that has good air flow, but looks nice and is pretty small. My price range is around $100 or slightly above. Let me know what you guys suggest. Thanks in advance.

Hey, all! I'll be buying these parts one or two at a time since I have a very fixed income (650/mo before bills) and my current build is from 2013 so I think "new prez, new build" I chose the MicroATX form factor because I would like to move towards having a smaller desk and potentially having a display stand if I can mod the side panel to show off RGB breathing. The case has support for a 240mm radiator, so hey why not go there? I've decided that I'm going to take just one big hit with the GPU instead of 2 by getting 32GB and not 16GB of DDR4. Therein lies my current question. Do I take a slightly bigger hit and get single 16GB sticks one at a time? or do I live with 16 total and enjoy dual channel speed and glory? I do a lot of VFX work for making viz for music videos and the like, so I WOULD like plenty of memory speed... I'm not sure. I think limiting myself to 16GB is not fantastic, but I also don't like the idea of limiting myself to single-channel for possibly more than a month. Current build price is ~$800 USD which I believe I can pull off in chunk-by-chunk purchasing. Edit: I'll be using my current power supply. it's a 750W seagate and it's only about a year old at this point due to a power surge. I'll also be providing an SSD and 3 mech drives until I can upgrade my SSD higher.

Looking to build a new media workstation//gaming rig. Wondering how small I can make it & how much it would cost in both money and performance to do it. Requirements: Ryzen 8core + AIO 2fan for OC. As much ram as you can possibly pack in there. Adobe is a pig. 1060-6 or a 1070 if mining ever cools down. NVME system + SSD Scratch. Storage is over NAS 10gb ethernet because uncompressed 4k scrubbing over nas.

I am currently looking for a case which could house a full size atx motherboard which is 170 mm (17cm) wide. I know this might be a big ask, I've already found one which would work for micro-atx, but if there is any possibility of finding a mid-tower which is that wide and would house an atx board, I would go for that thanks!

Project AZISAI: Kaby Lake mATX Custom Water Cooled Build Hello LTT Forum! So I built my first desktop back in 2011, and that trusty 2600K/560-Ti rig has served me well through all of my five years of college and then some (though I admittedly haven't done much PC gaming in the past year or so). But now that I've achieved independent adult status and am making a decent salary, it's about time I finally step it up and build myself a high-end machine. I want it to seamlessly run modern titles at 2560x1440 with high refresh rates and be sexy and silent while doing it, so I'm going with the top-of-the-line hardware, custom water cooling, and a color-neutral theme with RGB lighting everywhere! I'll be doing this build in parts, just because I won't have all the money at once. Here are the components lists, with the stuff that's arrived or that I'm carrying over from my current PC in green: Part 1: Tower CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock 3 (until water cooling happens) Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z270G Gaming Memory: 32GB (4x8GB) G.Skill TridentZ RGB DDR4-3200 Storage (OS): Samsung 950 Pro 256GB M.2 Storage (Data): Samsung 850 Evo 1TB GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW Chassis: Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 3 (w/ Tempered Glass side panel) PSU: Corsair AX860i PSU Cables: CableMod ModFlex Sleeved Cables (white) 120mm Fans: 4x Noctua NF-F12 LinusTechTips Special Edition (w/ white Noctua Chromax accents) 140mm Fans: 1x Noctua NF-A14 LinusTechTips Special Edition (w/ white Noctua Chromax accents) Lighting: CableMod WideBeam Magnetic RGB Strips Part 2: Peripherals Monitor: Dell S2716DGR Keyboard: Corsair K95 RGB Platinum (Cherry MX Brown) Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum Part 3: Water Cooling CPU Block: EK Supremacy EVO (Full Nickel) GPU Block: EK FC1080 GTX FTW (Acetal+Nickel, Nickel Backplate) Pump/Reservoir: EK RES X3 140 Revo D5 PWM Fittings: EK ACF (Black Nickel) Radiators: 2x EK CoolStream SE 240 Tubing: EK DuraClear 3/8" ID 5/8" OD Coolant: EK Ekoolant Pastel White I'm glad I stocked up on the beautiful Linus edition Noctuas back in April. Finally they'll be put to good use! So as soon as the Kaby Lake Desktop parts hit, I'll be placing my orders for the tower. CES can't come soon enough! Stay tuned for updates!

I'm helping a friend getting his workstation, must be a microATX build due to space constraints. Budget must be sub 2000 euro BUDGET LOCATION: Budget must be sub-2000 euro, location is EU, my source of prices is this comparison tool: https://geizhals.eu/ ,my primary merchant is https://www.mindfactory.de USAGE: Maya: he is using Maya 2015-2016, Mental Ray as rendering engine. Mostly 3D modeling and some particles dynamics simulation The Foundry Mari: this is used for texturing The Foundry Nuke: check CG render passes and slap-comp, video encoding tools as well. Gaming: mostly sporadic at 1440p with no expectations REQUIREMENTS: Mental Ray, like V-ray and Arnold are CPU only renderers. More cores the better (Mental Ray has a 98% multicore scaling efficiency). Caching particles geometry use lots of RAM, right now his 16GB machine is topping out and the caching process will crash. Mari: More GPU intensive tool, require lots of GPU on-board memory, as all the textures are loaded full res into memory while working. Right now 4GB is a bottleneck even with moderate-decent quality textures. Nuke: quite an agnostic piece of software require less CPU cores but higher clock speed, will benefit from fast SSD while reading massive multi-layer 16bit float EXR sequences. Require Nvidia GPU even if this feature is not really important, Nuke GPU usage is extremely limited, is almost a CPU only application, sometimes runs single thread as well. I know Maya ViewPort performance would benefit from and even low-end professional GPU https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/AutoDesk-Maya-2014-Professional-GPU-Acceleration-509/ due to driver optimization; BUT lots of on board memory is a much-needed feature. At 399 euro price point only Quadro k1200 or FirePro w5100, both extremely good for modeling; but then will not stand during heavy texturing in Mari. Nuke will benefit form using a PCIe SSD but is out of budget for now. Any suggestion one CASE-PSU-COOLER combo? Is 750watt to overkill? Is it safe going to a cheaper 650w or even 550w? Any opinion is much appreciated. Cheers!

Are there any all-white AM4 motherboard that are Micro ATX that are still available? All of the ones I have seen are Intel coffee lake, or the AMD ones are not available any more. The only place I can find them are amazon in different European countries. Thoughts Please? Just trying to find a white motherboard to fit my Corsair 280X.

I'm going to be upgrading a lot of PC parts soon and I need a new case to put them in because I am tired of mini-itx. It's hard for me to do anything in because I have thick fingers but I know that I can deal with micro-atx much easier. If anyone has any good recommendations, I am all ears, especially if you can talk about your own experiences with it. I do have some guidelines though. Side panel, preferably tempered glass Filtered intakes Comes with at least an exhaust fan. An intake would be great but not super necessary. Decent space behind the motherboard for routing cables Not over 100 US dollars RGB would also be nice but that's an extra thing that I'd be willing to go without if there's no case that can stay within the price range and fulfill the other guidelines.

Haven't been in the hardware loop for a long while but I was just wondering if there were any good micro atx x570 boards? I looked around but really didn't find a good range of options. I want to use a 3rd gen Ryzen CPU but I'm not too sure about compatibility with B450 micro atx boards which is why I've been holding on. Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated! ?

Help: Case and Motherboard advice/recommendations
WeeemRCB posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
I need some help in choosing a case and motherboard for a new PC build. I'm looking to replace my Laptop which hasn't moved from my desk for 3+ years and making a mini-pc is the way I want to go as at least I can upgrade parts in the future (cue laptop regret). I've specced out some basic parts already for this new system so you can see where I'm going with the build: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6 GB Phoenix OC Video Card Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 650 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply 4k Monitor: tbd Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-12-11 14:28 GMT+0000 PC use: It'll need to be power efficient and it's not intended for gaming. Instead, it'll be used for some data crunching / compiling, some VM, video editing, plex media server and as an encoding/streaming PC. Currently I game and stream from the same PC. My i7-6850 does it, but limited encoding and there a noise cost. I'd likely keep an underclock profile in the BIOS for 90% of use during daily menial tasks and then an overclock profile for when I'm working on a project and need to unleash the full Ryzen potential. Kinda similar to the system in the > We built a PC more efficient than a console! < video that LTT recently released. The space I have is fairly limited which is why I'd love to have a small form factor case like a Parvum Systems case or Ncase M1 But the only problem I have with that (other than the 2x cost of MiniITX) is that I wouldn't have any space to put my Elgato card for game capture The smallest Micro ATX case I could find was the InWin 301, but surely there's smaller options than that? Can anyone recommend a small case that would fit a MicroATX or is my only option a MiniITX and using OBS NDI for game capture? -
Hi, I'm looking for a matx motherboard for Ryzen but there aren't many options to choose from. Should I go ATX? I also might want to overclock.
