Asrock H81M-VG4/Asus H81M-CS.Is it Mini-ITX or Micro-ATX? Both Asus and Asrock's offical product page says that these mobos are micro-atx. But their size (Asrocks: 7.5-in x 6.7-in, 19.1 cm x 17.0 cm, ASUS: 7.5 inch x 7.0 inch 19 cm x 17.7 cm) says otherwise. I was planning to buy a cabinate that can fir AsRock H81-VG4 board, and prefer it to be as small as possible. Should i go with Mini-ITX case or go with Micro-ATX case as per the info on official page?

Country: Quebec, Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 3D Modelling / Gaming at Ultra (2560x1080) Current set-up ( All brand new ) CPU: Ryzen 3900X Stock cooler GPU: RX570 Temporarily ( I want to put a 302mm EVGA 3 fans FTW RTX 2070 Super ) LINK HERE Case: Corsair 280x Micro-ATX LINK HERE PSU: 750W Gold EVGA RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz Problematic: Pc Case (Micro-ATX) gets very very hot quickly, (I have only one fan running at the top of the case.) (GPU Under load = Fan Speed: 100% Temp: 75C) The maximum number of fan is 4 x 140mm on my case (Currently 1x140mm). (Also, the gpu will "block" the first front fan because it will be at maximum size and the way the case is made.) Will 4 fans be enough to cool my 3900X + RTX2070Super in a micro-ATX Case ? Should I put my CPU with a AIO water cooler ? Switch Case ? I don't have budget for custom Ekwb I took a Micro-Atx case to save space in my small room. What options should i opt for ? Thank you very much!

Hello and thank you for taking your time helping me, now lets get to it! Starting off mentioning Ryzen 7. Ryzen 7 1800x performs in several games including Witcher 3, Battlefield 1 and Fallout 4 equal or worse than a i5-7600K which is less than half the price of the flagship Ryzen processor (benchmarks taken from Sweclockers). Having that in mind I'm having a hard time thinking Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 3 will have better single-core performance than ryzen 7 and therefor it is not worth the wait. So therefor I am thinking of good old lazy Intel. Why I'm upgrading Budget Computer has to be fully upgraded(yes, new case) except GPU and Drives, so something around 600-1000 USD // 800-1350 CAD would be my sweet spot, don't have a fit budget but I want value for my money. Usage Gaming while having stuff in the background, I like to multitask so I usually have one/two games + chrome + movie at the same time. Games I play are all in 1080p and range from Battlefield 1, witcher 3 to League of legends and to eastern MMORPG's like Black Desert Online. I basicly play everything. Current Specs Aim I want this new build to hopefully last me for 4+ years as my current one has, so I don't want to cheap out. A quiet Mini-/Micro-ATX build is what I'm aiming for, don't play in running SLI or more than 4 drives so can't really tell why I would need a full size ATX, please explain if you think I need one. Key features: 16GB or more RAM Silent and preferably not water cooling Smaller computer = better Below 1000$ Good to have features: Case having front side USB 3.0 along with headphone and microphone jack Clean look of the case Having 6 or more USB ports in the back Having one USB-C Having 4 slots of RAM if going for 32 GB (it's cheaper) Good integrated sound card (TBH maybe all are good, don't know) I think that was everything I can point out! Full build examples are very much appreciated!

With the Ryzen launch, I had been planning to build a new computer using the Cooler Master Elite 130, but with the complete dearth of Mini-ITX boards, I'm going to need a Micro/ATX case instead. I'm specifically looking for: Optical drive support Front panel USB3, Reset Switch, and Status LEDs Support for at least 2 3.5" drives and 2 2.5" drives AIO radiator Support Decent cable management Budget isn't a significant factor, but I would of course prefer to spend as little as possible

I was wondering, should I go a Blower style GTX 1070 or an Open-Air GPU. The case I want to use is a Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 3 with 3 120mm fans in the case. (As many fans as I can have in the case). I want to use a open air 1070 for the boosted clocks over the reference version. I plan on using: CPU: i5-7600K, I plan on having an OC of around 4.4 to 4.6GHz. (If I can reach that) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T4 Motherboard: Asus PRIME Z270M-PLUS Micro-ATX RAM: ADATA XPG Z1 16GB (4x4GB) 2800MHz Storage: Sandisk SSD PLUS 120GB CASE: Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 3 Case Accessories: Deepcool RGB 350 Case Fans: Thermaltake Riing 12 LED Red x3 I am just checking with anyone else before I spend over $1500 and to find out either the cpu or the gpu is too hot. (In Australia it's $1500)

Was just curious if anyone has suggestions for nice looking cases that are Micro-Atx, and more meant for office work and being on the ground? Currently have the Fractal Design Core 1100 picked out, but wondering if there is any cheaper 1's that look decent, aren't super hard to build in (I got big hands) and are decent built quality? Also if anyone has the aforementioned case, let me know what you think about it/ Thanks.

I just one hell of a deal, I scored an i7 3770 for 50 bucks but I need a motherboard. My only requirements are that it needs 4 ram slots and is micro ATX. Any recommendations? (Preferably Amazon links)

I'm looking to build a pc that will get me through 2 years of school while living in something like a dormroom. I want to use it as a livingroom pc and NAS after my education. I've struggled with some parts of the build, mainly the motherboard and a micro-ATX case. CPU: Ryzen 3 1300X Mobo: Asus Prime A320M-K (I have no overclocking experience, I might look for one with 4 slots though) GPU: Zotac Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4gb mini RAM: 2X 4GB, 3.200mhz of whatever decent brand is the cheapest when i'm buying the system. Storage: WD blue 250GB m.2 SSD (can get this pretty cheap from my work) PSU: Corsair CX450 Case: Bitfenix Phenom Micro-ATX or Fractal Nano s This will cost me about €650,- and this is around my max budget. I do live in the Netherlands and as far as i've seen most components are more expensive here (if you're interested in the pricing you could take a look at tweakers.net) This thing will be the lifeblood of my room. I'm going to use it for medium multitasking, light gaming and I'm going to hook it up to my tv. Any tips and advice would be appreciated, especially on a sleek looking Micro ATX case with room for storage expansion.

For more than a decade, our How to Design Custom Enclosures for Motherboard-Based Systems has been a solid resource for designers looking for guidance on things like mounting the board, vent cutout placement, PCI card tabs, etc. We recently published an updated version to make it more clear and even more helpful. Plus, we've made several key additions and changes: • Added Micro ATX boards to the document • Added height constraints • Changed mounting fastener configuration • Changed PCI slots so they don’t restrict protruding connectors • Added new detailed illustrations and diagrams I shared this as a reply to one particular thread earlier last week, but wanted to share it as its own unique post, in case it would help you on your next design. Check out the new version here, also available to download as a PDF. Happy designing!

Hey guys ! I was just browsing through a couple of pc stores websites and I came across a really cool case, the kolink satellite. It’s really small and cheap, around 30 euros... I saw that it supported some micro atx boards, but my board , the asrock n68 gs4 r2.0 , is 2 millimeters too wide according to the specs, but I don’t know if that’s the manufacturer playing it safe or if 2 millimeters make that much of a difference... What do you guys think? I’m just asking because it’s a perfect case for me, I’m trying to get rid off my oversized case ...

Hi guys, I need a good value case for a micro-ATX gaming rig. I was going for a SFF slim ITX case, however looking for a bigger size for better cooling and overall lower prices in mobo and PSU. I prefer to avoid cube-like shapes for better portability tho (e.g. ability to travel with it in a luggage). What do you recommend? Thanks.

Hello everyone, I'm planning on building a computer that's focused not only on gaming but also on web browsing, Office apps, and so on. My budget is around 700€ (around 815$ USD) and I'm getting the parts from Portuguese stores since it's where I live in. Here's what I've come around with: Processor: i5-7500 Quad-core 3.4GHz w/ Turbo 3.8GHz 6MB Skt1151 (199,90€) Graphics card: MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GT OC (169,90€) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 4GB (1x4GB) DDR4-2400MHz CL14 (41,90€) + Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4-2400MHz CL16 (77,90€) Motherboard: Gigabyte B250M-DS3H (75,90€) Case: Micro-ATX Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3 w/ black window (59,90€) PSU: Corsair CX550M Semi Modular (77,90€) SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 120GB The total price of this is 703,30€ I'm wondering if I'm choosing the right graphics card and if it's worth paying an extra 40/50€ for the GTX 1060 3GB... Btw, I'm planning on running a 1080p monitor via HDMI and a 1440x900 monitor via VGA (I have a DVI to VGA adapter laying around). Also, I already have the SSD so that's off the shopping list, and I don't really care about optical drives so I took that off the list to drop a little bit the price. What do you guys think? Should I change something? Is the motherboard and the case a good choice? (I'm aiming for micro-ATX cases since I don't want a gigantic PC)

Hey all, I've decided to try a scratch Build. I've been planning it for a while now and I've been able to start it. I wanted to make a simple, clean case that allows for easy liquid cooling integration. I've posted this on another forum and I wanted to see what kind of feed back and critiques I can get. Could I please get some recommendations and insight into the Corsair Air 240 and the Bitfenix Prodigy? What does the Corsair excel at? What does the Bitfenix excel? Which one is more value for money?

I was asking the pc shop staff what kind of cases was the best for Micro-atx, they suggested cube cases but the few cube case I found either had bad air flow or didn't look as nice. I'm using a Meshify C but it's a little too big. Any ideas for Micro - atx that's small and nice. Thermaltake V21 Corsair air 240 Corsair crystal 280 Q300L Any other suggestions?

I'm looking to build a new small form factor PC and remembered a case called the silverstone FT03 microatx case and its corresponding mini itx mini version. It was unique in that it allowed for the gpu to be mounted vertically up and down because the motherboard was rotated 90 degrees. Has there been any similar cases that are like this in that it is taller than it is deep? I really dig it but it is an older design, I would have thought there were newer iterations now but I guess it sold poorly?

Hi guys, I'm building a new desktop and I'm looking for case that is discrete, I don't want RGB perhaps a side window but I don't mind if the case doesn't have one. In a previous build for my wife I used a Corsair Carbide Spec-01 but barely has any space for cable management and it doesn't allows tall coolers, I barely fitted a Hyper 212 in it. These are the specs that I'm looking into it: Ryzen 7 1700 or Ryzen 5 1600 with an XFX Radeon RX580 8GB I was thinking in a Cooler Master MCB-Q300L or Corsair cc-9011138-ww but I don't know how good are these cases. I'm not planning to do any overclock that requires a lot of air flow or heavy gaming. Mostly it will be used for 3D printing, handling 3D models, slicing and stuff like that but I want a case that might allow future upgrades. I appreciate if you can give some me recommendations for a case.

PROJECT_CRAMPEUS Welcome to PROJECT_CRAMPEUS (pls help my find a better name ) this is a tiny build.... at least tiny for what it houses. the dimesions are: 1250mm x 750mm x 500mm... lol just kidding, these are the real ones: 400x200x400 I'll be getting this laser cut and screwed together (how do i make threading for the hardware's screws with a laser cutter? hmm.. anyone?). I'll be posting all of my laser cutting files over here for improvements/Make Your Own (if this is actually gonna work). you should be able to view/edit these files if you have anything that can view .dxf/.dwg files, if you just want to view it maybe you can edit it, not sure) you can go here: https://viewer.autodesk.com/ this is my 3D model, I made it when i was planning to 3D print it in metal.. then i saw the cost and limitations of it, no thanks. list of stuff this case is gonna to be able to house: 1x 360mm radiator(as long as its not longer than 400mm, you can modify it to fit bigger ones). 1x micro-ATX motherboard. 2x 310mm GPUs with a 10mm of clearance left if your using a 60mm rad + normal 25mm fans. 1x PSU around 180mm long(drawing hasn't been made yet, will update this when it has been made). 1x reservoir with a diameter of 60mm, can be slightly larger, around 70. 3x SATA SSDs(hopefully) + 1 3.5" HDD(also hopefully) on the top, drawing hasn't been made yet. 1x CPU Cooler as tall as 180mm(hopefully, not yet confirmed). 5x 120mm fans (also, hopefully). and more things i haven't thought of.. yet. motherboard drawing design in progress. is there anything I'm missing out on? any problems with my design? if so, feel free to point it out also, as I mentioned before, does anyone know a way to make threading on aluminum holes? So, a buddy of mine gave me a bunch of old pc parts he had taking up space in his garage. After going though everything I found out that one of the mobos in a box littered with old green pcb mobos had an older AMD cpu in it. A google search of the part number turned up a part name (Phenom II x2 550 B.E.) upon reading more about this chip I found out that this could possibly have 2 cores that have been untouched for god knows how long of this processors life. The mobo it's seated in, as it turns out, is an old Dell OEM board. Needless to say it doesn't support core unlocking nor overclocking. Is it even possible, and if so how do I go about, finding an old AM3 core unlocking micro-atx board and yes I would really like it to be a micro-atx as I already have this system put back in a case and have it running. I would really like to keep this set up and just replace the board. I've already checked for compatible board part numbers and done some searching and cannot find anything on any of them, other than listings on Newegg that are out of stock. I've even checked Aliexpress to no avail. Am I asking too much? What are my chances of finding a board like this on the cusp 2020? Please HELP!!!!!

Hi, all. I have decided on a build but am now trying to pick out a case out of these: - Corsair Spec 01 - Corsair 100Rcmp - Fractal Design Core 1500 - Tecware F3 (white) - Silverstone SP-08 - Cooler Master K282 - Cooler Master Silencio 352 - Cooler Master 311 - Cooler Master 344 - Cooler Master 361 - Cooler Master N200 (with Window) The case will house the following: - CPU: i5-6500 - M/B: Gigabyte GA-H170M-D3H (chose this over the B150 due to SRT since I have an SSD, more external and internal I/O; over the Asus one for slightly better audio (892 vs 887), don't need a USB C... the list goes on) - RAM: 1 x 8GB Kingston DDR4 RAM 2133 MHZ CL15 (KVR21N15D8/8; I can spend more later on to top up on memory) - SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB (not M2, in case I decide to replace this SSD and use it as an external hard drive - SATA based enclosures are more common) - PSU: Seasonic M12II Modular 520W 80+ Bronze - Optical drive (just in case I need to boot from a disk): Asus DVD-RW 24x - Skipping on graphics now (a friend has a spare Radeon HD5770) Can't really decide because they are so similar in terms of their ergonomics. Anyone has experience with any of these? Also, is the PSU good enough to power these parts?
