I have a case. It's garbage. Building my PC the first time was a nightmare, but I thought my troubles might be done then. Unfortunately I've had to repeatedly replace/ relocate a number of components that are always a pain to reach, just recently I got a new motherboard which turned out to be broken and have to return that in 1 week but the replacement's coming in 2. The thought of replacing the motherboard in this case twice in as many weeks filled me with dread, so I'm just buying a new case now. I've narrowed it down to the Fractal Torrent and the Fractal Meshify 2, I'm curious about your opinions on each. I'm a fan of the look of the Torrent, how it's spacious enough to fit any cooling solution I might want (though I'm fairly certain I'll stick with my NH-D15) and that it already comes with some decent fans in a good config, no need to upgrade or mess with them. With the Meshify 2 there's no worries about running out of room for storage. Not that that's a major issue, I've got the one HDD and I have no plans to get more, but the real draw is honestly that removable top panel. After all the pain I've been through building that sounds like a godsend. I'm not overly concerned about the price as the difference will probably be bridged by the amount I'd have to spend on fans to get the Meshify to perform on par with the Torrent. I'm undecided at the moment so I was hoping to hear other's thoughts on the matter. I'm willing to hear alternative suggestions but before you make any note: 1. this is a somewhat time sensitive matter and both of these are available locally 2. I've never been a fan of glass side panels honestly and the fact these are high performers with an opaque side panel option was a big draw.

Hello everybody, I am getting a Meshify 2 Compact and I would like to know if it is better for me to use the the two Dynamic X2 gp-14 that come with the case or two Venturi HF-14 that are currently being used in my Meshify C (they are currently 4 years old). Which ones should I choose?

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a tp link mesh wifi (a deco e4 if it helps) in order to extend the range of my wifi router/modem combo. The set up was pretty easy since it was guided by the very accessible app that comes with the product. Now most devices in my home are connected to the mesh system (we even turned off the original wifi) except for my desktop that has an ethernet connection to the router. I've been playing around with the settings and came across one that specifies the operating mode for the network (see image): it can be set to router or access point mode. I originally set it up in router mode and it works fine but reading the description it actually seems like i should be using the access point option. What is the difference between the two and which one should I use? Thank you so much in advance

While doing a thorough inspection of the cables I noticed the audio cable came protective rubber came punctured and scratched. Didn’t notice any shiny reflection of copper or aluminum while pointing a flash, but still I not sure if it exposed the cable itself. I would like to know if it’s safe to leave it like this because it I don’t want to put any sort of electrical tape on it (it turns gooey after a while) Here are some photos:

There is some exposed metal in the frame. The case is a Meshify 2 Compact which is 1 year old and the exposed part has some orange spots already. Will the case be eating itself soon or is it something merely cosmetic?

I wanna get 3 case fans to use as front intakes and the use the stock fans as rear and top exhaust. Would arctic p12 or arctic f12 be better?

Introduction As a person older than Linus, there're three things that get on your nerves the longer you're around: slow computers, fan noise, and that damned bright RGB radiation. Now that I have kids too, all I want is some god-d***ed peace and quiet. So when I decided to build a new work/play rig I decided that focusing on performance and noise would come first, LEDS can be fixed with a wire cutter or a hammer. I put together a Ryzen 1600 build pretty cheaply using the stock cooler and an old aluminum Thermaltake Tsunami case, but the noise was terrible. The Aluminum case reverbed all the noise, the fan on the stock Ryzen cooler clicked at certain speeds, and it ran hot. It was time to go to war. After endless comparisons of air vs water, how silence vs mesh cooling perf, I ended up deciding on the Fractal Design Meshify C case and the Thermalright Le Grande Macho RT air cooler. I wanted to see if you could have a mesh case, good cooling, AND almost no noise. Test Specifications Common Hardware AMD Ryzen 1600 at Stock & 3.6 Ghz Overclock speeds Asus PRIME X370-PRO Motherboard EVGA SuperSC 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory @ 2933 speed Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card SeaSonic PRIME Titanium 750W PSU Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Paste Measurements & Methodology We will be measuring Noise and Temperature readings for each setup iteration. To generate as much load and heat as possible, IntelBurnTest (IBT) and Furmark (FM) will be run at the same time. IBT will run a Standard Stress Test utilizing all cores/threads, and FM will run the “GPU stress test” at 1920x1080. Noise Noise will be measured using the Niosh Sound Level Meter App for iPhone, which is a free calibrated app for collecting A-weighted noise measurements. It will be measured while idle, and at the end of the testing cycle at two locations: 15cm diagonal to the front/left corner of the case to simulate the PC on the desk 1 meter diagonal to the front/left/top vertex corner of the case, which tends to be where my head is while sitting in a chair with the case on the floor under the desk. The environment will be as controlled as possible, with HVAC, refrigerators, and other noise generating sources turned off. Tests are run during quiet times, which resulted in an approximately 22dB background noise level. Temperature Temperature readings will be collected using HWiNFO, and logged to CSV for analysis. The environment will be as controlled as possible, with HVAC keeping the room steady at 22C, and only shutoff at the beginning and end of tests to measure noise levels. Variables Tested We will be testing the following setup iterations: Old Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case + Stock AMD Wraith Spire cooler Fractal Design Meshify C case + Stock AMD Wraith Spire cooler Fractal Design Meshify C case + Thermalright Le Grande Macho RT cooler Fan setup iterations on #3 Fractal Design Meshify C Review Since we’ve all seen 10 unboxing videos with slow panning 4k b-roll, techno music, and small plastic potted plants, I’ll skip to my thoughts from the build: Pros Love the design Front panel has a nice “low-poly” design, should help hide dents / damage over time Rim of front panel reminds me of a jet engine intake cowl, brings images of airflow Tempered Glass and good airflow for $89 Has decent supplied fans Case feels solid for how light it is The power LED is subtle, very nice for us anti-rgb crowd Cons Stripped out two motherboard mounts while installing them with not much force. Tight fit with my longer 175mm PSU, can’t see using HDD cage with this size PSU, especially with my meaty mitts. Could not find a nice way to route the USB 3.0 cable for the front panel. It’s nearly too big to fit through the middle shroud hole, and then has to take a 90° turn to hit the motherboard header. This also resulted in a strained diagonal cable across the back of the case, so I went through the large grommeted holes to the right of the motherboard. Leaks sound like a screen door (who knew?). You will hear your crappy CPU cooler fans and coil whine from your motherboard or graphics board. Since it’s mesh on top, front, and back, the noise might bounce off more surfaces in your room, and into your ear. Design Improvement Suggestions Would have been nice to get a solid Moduvent for the top if you don’t need the extra mesh / venting. Would have been nice to have some soundproofing on the metal side panel. Would have been nice to have a 140mm fan support on the back instead of 120mm USB3.0 front panel cable needs to be longer to use with the supplied shroud hole. A more flexible connector for the end of the USB3.0 front panel cable would be nice for tight turns. A shroud hole for GPU power would be nice too. Front and backmost shroud holes could be bigger / have rubber grommets. Front IO could have been on separate panel so it’s not attached to the removable door - would make the mesh easier to clean It’s 2017, have a USB type C connector! Maybe if Fractal Josh stopped going on yacht trips to the flippin’ Catalina Wine Mixer they could have afforded this. Build Tips If you don’t need the hard drive cage, remove it before doing anything else. Can’t remove with PSU in. If you are putting this on carpet, face the PSU fan UP. Figure out routing the front panel cables before doing any other cabling, especially the USB cable. Thermalright Le Grande Macho RT Review I looked this up in an online translator, and apparently the name means “the great chauvinistic pig”, hopefully it’s a pig for CPU heat and it doesn’t offend any of the lady folk. Why This Cooler Finding this cooler was a trip, I originally wanted something cool and quiet of course, and was leaning towards an AIO kit because I postulated in my head that it would be more resilient to a child tipping my case over. A 1KG air cooler would have a hell of a lot more torque / pressure on the motherboard than a liquid cooling block would if it fell over. So I was looking for an all-copper 240mm solution, and first settled on Be Quiet!’s Silent Loop cooler, but I couldn’t find it for under $200 or so dollars, and that’s because it had to be imported by a third party. I contacted their support, and found out they can’t sell it here in North America because of patent issues, which was interesting. I looked at some other AIO solutions, reviews, etc and couldn’t fall in love with another solution. Also some of the pumps noise recordings in the reviews reminded me of a fish tank aerator pump, which also turned me off of liquid cooling. Looking at air coolers again, I was going to go with the shiny khakis & poo colored Noctua DH-15 or a Be Quiet Dark Rock 3, but then I found this guy on a TechPowerUp review, and it came in both cooler, quieter, and cheaper than the other two. So of course, I needed to review it. Pros Love the design, all you see is the anodized black plate and heatpipes. It hides everything else around your CPU socket. Cheaper than similar Noctua offerings. Comes with the Thermalright TY-147a, a PWM fan that apparently doesn’t suck at low speeds. No ticking like the Wraith Spire fan! Comes with small skin-saving gloves, and a very nice long screwdriver, and a low speed adapter. Base plate is nickel-plated copper, with a nice polished finish. Assembly was a breeze. Hides messy fan cables with no effort! Cons May not fit your motherboard / memory / case. Want to change the rear case fan whose header is under this thing? Say hello to removing your graphics card, and using offset pliers. Be careful when clipping the fan on. I was sloppy and dragged the anti-vibration pads off of the fins - had to start over. Improvement Suggestions I wish it was sold more places, I bought mine off of the only approved US reseller on Amazon. Would be great to see a version with a larger baseplate for TR4 applications. Build Tips Do a dry fit with your memory before fitting the fan in place. Mine cleared it, but I ended up unclipping/reclipping it lower to get more air over the VRMs. Test Results and Thoughts And the scientific results are in… Configurations Key: Tsunami Stock / Tsunami 3.6 Ghz - Tsunami Dream Case, Wraith Spire Cooler, 1 Noctua + 1 Be Quiet! 120mm fans. Meshify Stock / Meshify 3.6 Ghz - Meshify Case, Wraith Spire Cooler, 2 stock Meshify 120mm fans. Macho Meshify / Macho Meshify 3.6 Ghz - Meshify Case, Le Grande Macho cooler, 2 stock Meshify 120mm fans. 3 Quiet Fans 3.6 Ghz - Meshify Case, Le Grande Macho cooler, 2 stock Meshify 120mm fans with low speed adapters, 1 Noctua 120mm fan with low speed adapter. 3 Noctua Fans 3.6 Ghz - Meshify Case, Le Grande Macho cooler, 2 Noctua 140mm fans, 1 Noctua 120mm fan. Stock Ryzen 1600 Results Ryzen 1600 3.6 Ghz Overclock Results With every iteration we were able to reduce the noise, temperature, or both. Focusing on the 3.6Ghz tests, noise at the floor level was reduced 9.5dB, max CPU temperatures reduced 21.6C, and max GPU temps reduced 5C. Using my subjective ears, I like the final fan setup the most as well. Using all Noctua fans for the case changes the tone and feel of the fan noise to be mostly unobtrusive. At head level and full load I get readings of 22.3 dB, which is barely above background noise. It amounts to “is there a fan on, somewhere upstairs?”. The fridge in the next room is louder than it, the HVAC blower is louder than it, the dehumidifier in the basement is louder than it. It is essentially silent in this environment. The only downside to something this quiet is that up close you do hear coil whine and other electronics noise, especially when FurMark is thrashing the graphics card. Conclusions The Fractal Design Meshify C is cooler and quieter than a 12 year old Thermaltake Tsunami Dream. The Le Grand Macho RT cooler is cooler and quieter than an AMD Wraith Spire cooler. Noctua fans may be ugly, but this 3 fan setup is cooler and quieter than the stock Fractal Design fans. If I were to do these tests again, I hope to keep a better notebook as I forgot to take a few readings here and there. I would also give the system time to cool between runs, as the idle temps were skewed because of a quick test cycle. I also hope to purchase a better noise level meter if I get into noise testing. As for what I did with the damned RGB, I ended up adding a UV strip, and doing a little infilling of the Fractal Design logo with UV/Neon paint. This gave it a nice ghostly ultra-violet iradescence, and all you can see while the system is running are the creeping fans and shiny heat pipes everywhere. It can't be fully captured with a camera, but here's the best pictures I have. Thanks for reading!

Hello all, I am currently thinking about getting the Meshify S2 and I have a question about air flow. I am planning on ditching the fans which come with the case and swapping them out for three Noctua NF-A14 140mms at the front and one of the same at the rear. Should I add another exhaust at the top-rear to help out my rear fan or would that not be needed? Thanks!

I understand this is a bit of a weird longshot inquiry, but for anybody who owns a Fractal Meshify C (or other Meshify case as I imagine it's pretty much the same on all)... ...Is it possible to remove the "Fractal Design" silver logo badge on the front? I mean, easily remove it without hurting anything else? I was just curious if it was doable if I wanted to go for a more subtle, "full stealth" look. I'm certainly not asking for anybody to actually try to pry the logo off their case and damage it, I will not buy you a new case if you do! Just wondered if somebody could take a quick look at how it's attached. Thanks!

I currently have the Meshify C and was wondering if changing the case to a Define R6, Lian Li O11- Dynamic (probably razer edition), or something else like a Be quiet case is worth it. Recommendations would be awesome! (Something below $180) I have no intentions of getting a 3 Rad for my CPU it's pointless for me nor an H500i case Don't get me wrong this isn't a bad case. One downside is how close the GPU is to the Watercooler.I'm not mistaken it doesn't affect the GPU temps that much at all. There is at least another 6" to 1' on both sides of this desk for a new case> that would be the spot to place this especially if it's the O-11 Dynamic due to the side intake. Hi all, I'm looking for the best fan configuration for a build. It's a Meshify C case and a H100i. It's the first time I'll have used liquid cooling and I'm not sure the best placement for it. My old build was 3 intake fans up front, exhausted top and rear. My understanding is that the radiator for the H100i will prevent air exhausting from wherever I put it (tell me if I'm wrong). So do I put it at the top and have the air go front to back, or visa versa? Thanks.

Hi, i wanna hear if somone can give a advice about a case swap. i bought a used 1st. gen Ryzen pc (good value) and i want to swap to at Meshify C case, with som better cooling. (mainly for the gtx 1080) Im set on the Arctic P12 value pack with 5 fans, and i want to know what need to run them. do i need a controller, or a hub, or something? and how does fan control work in that instance? Hey! First post here Im looking at upgrading my 6yr old pc and I haven't paid too much attention to case designs up until recently. Fell in love with the H510 Elite design but reading about how the GPU or CPU suffer. My plan is to get the X63 cooler and front mount. Does anyone who already owns this case have any regrets? The alternative im looking at is the Meshify C, my goal is to get a white/black theme going Any advice would be awesome! Thanks!

So I'm looking to get the Meshify C to upgrade my PC, and I'm actually not a fan of PSU shrouds (I like seeing everything out in the open). Can anyone confirm if the ENTIRE shroud can be removed, or just that flap where the fan/rad goes in the front? Thank you!

Hello everyone, I've chosen the case for my next build, the Meshify C, but I am not sure which version to choose: the Dark TG or the TG one. The tinted version looks sleeker but will it be so dark that I will need to add illumination to be able to see the components? I just can't decide so I need your opinions.

Just showing of. I wanted to know what you guys think of this cosmetic upgrade. Keep in mind this was my first build ever in 2014, so parts aren't up to nowaday standards. First pic is from 2014 and second is today! Previous case was a big ol' 760T from Corsair with an overkill 1000 P2. I've changed to a less "gamery" look with the Meshify C TG from Fractal and because of fitment issues, sold my PSU for a 650 G3 and Bitfenix Alchemy 2.0 White cables! I'm thinking of switching the blue LEDs on the 970 to white ones.... But I'm not sure if I like the contrast with the rest. Let me know what you think? Should I switch to all B&W? Take care guys!

I first decided I wanted to try my hand at PC building back in August 2017. I stumbled upon this website and a few tech tubers and started getting to know the new Z370 chipset. I ordered everything and when it all arrived put it together and did an external test boot. Everything worked! I was really happy nothing went wrong, I've read some stories about the X Hero board and was nervous. I first updated the bios then OC'd the ram and finally installed Windows 10. After everything was up and running I safely stored the components in the closet while I waited for my case. Hardest part was deciding on the case. I had finally landed on the Define R6 in gunmetal and ordered it in January. On March 7th, the release date, I received an email from NewEgg stating they would not be fulfilling my pre-order. I decided it was time to move on, my PC had been sitting in the closet for over a month now waiting for a case and I was excited to get things rolling. I went to a local MicroCenter and found the Meshify C. A nice case to build in and quite compact. I spent a little time overclocking the CPU, I believe I have a stable OC at 5.0GHz. I ran Prime95 for 3hours and saw max core temps at 73'C. I've also run CinebenchR15 and 3DMark. If anyone has any other suggestions or tips for OC stability I'd love to hear them. Hello, I have a few question about Air flow, more specifically how should I set up my air flow in the Meshify C? I want to use 4x120mm fans and 2x140mm, with the Corsair h115i Pro 280mm liquid cooler. I want to go with one of corsairs RGB fans, not sure if I should go with HD or the LL series fans? i'l have to set some of them as intake and the back bracket will be showing. Hello, Specs: Ryzen 5 1600 Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler EVGA 1060 6GB SC (Not purchased yet, but interested in this card) Fractual Design Meshify C I'm assembling a new build in the Meshify C, and looking to replace the front fan with two 140mm fans to increase the airflow. The Corsair ML140 PRO fans and the Noctuas (both normal and industrial versions) are my two choices at the moment. What fans would offer the best airflow performance with the least amount of noise, and would the single 120mm exhaust be sufficient for the build?

Hello guys, I am wondering if there is any news, gossip or signs that Fractal Design might release an upgrade to the Define S to update it with features similar to Define R6 or release some kind of Meshify S the same size as Define S(which would be even better cooling wise). Fractal are a bit slow when it comes to updating their cases, not long ago they didn't even have tempered glass options but I am hopeful that they will revise the S at some point in the not too distant future. What do you think?

I'm building my first PC and the MSI 1080 Ti Trio caught my eye. It's beautiful and I've heard great things about it. Anyway, I'm planning on buying the Meshify C as I've heard it has great airflow. The problem is though that I don't know if it'll fit in the case. I am getting two 140mm bequiet! SilentWings 3 fans on the front of the case and one 120mm fan from the same company at the back. If you think the card won't fit in there, do you perhaps know of any other cases (that are a little bit bigger and will fit everything) that have as good or almost as good of an airflow as the meshify C?. Also, kind of unrelated, but what do you think about the PSU? Is it good? Should I get some other PSU or will this one be fine?

Had so much fun making this build. The Meshify C is such a great case, it's so flexible, I really used it to it's full potentional. Very happy with the EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3.The undervolt performance is really impressive, about a drop 1-2% fps in exchange for 12°C less. Also much less fan noise. Also spent lots of time on cable management to get a clean look on GPU PCIe cables.
