Hi! I recently got a "new" pc, MSI B450 Tomahawk Max with Ryzen 3600. When I had stock cooler, it showed that I thermal throttle. I changed cooler to Gamer Storm Assassin III... and hwinfo killed me. As you can see, I thermal throttle on 60*C max. I DO NOT overclock it, everything is at stock. Anybody has any idea WTF? I have to go to work, so if you need any more info, let me know.

Hi guys, I will skip the formalities and go right into the problem to be brief. I am playing League of Legends and suddenly my display goes black. My monitor says no input detected. All the fans in my pc are running at max, as seen (or rather heard) in the bottom video. My gpu is connected to my primary display via DP and secondary display via HDMI. There is no input into both of these displays. Swapping the hdmi cable from my GPU to my MOBO also does not give a display. (But even in the usual course of events, as I am writing this now, my MOBO doesn't give and output to my monitor. I have to press the restart button on my case to restart my pc and solve this issue. This issue has occurred 2 times today, within a span of 3 hours. It has occurred one time in the past but I forgot if I was playing LoL. (I'm not a avid LoL player, as I only play it whenever theres urf, so I'm not too certain whether I was playing LoL when it happened). PC Specs:

Hi there This has been an ongoing issue which I have seen a few threads on but with no answer. To be clear, in BIOS, the fans operate normally, controllable as PWM fans, from their minimum to maximum speeds and tracking temperature. Only when booting into Windows do they then ramp to max speed, then remain at max speed and can no longer be altered by fan controller software, nor do they track temperature. There are no overheating issues, just annoying max speed fans. Hardware involved: Gigabyte Z490 Gaming X (F20d BIOS) Aerocool H66F Controller (second unit provided by Aerocool (kindly for free) as initially I treated it as faulty, but apparently not) The H66F comes with a remote, which used correctly, allows me to set the fan controller to the PWM setting, allowing the fans to be controlled in BIOS. The pin configuration to each fan is a proprietary 6 pin connecter, which is a voltage controlled output with RGB operation, and the controller is connected to the PWM and Ground pins on the motherboard 4 pin header. The tachometer pin and 12v pins are not connected, as per Aerocool's specification. I have used a number of fan controller programs to try and get around this issue including the Gigabytes own Smart Fan/System Information Viewer apps. None of these had any effect and none are installed presently. I have gone through the process of resetting/reinstalling the BIOS, to no avail. This appears to be an issue that only comes once Windows boots. I hope someone can help, whilst this is not detrimental to the system, it is rather annoying. Kind regards Tak (Darcrill)

Where the red line is drawn is when i got back at my desktop, this is the 3rd time I've noticed this behavior. My cpu runs at max speeds while my display is off or the computer is idle. Power plan is balanced, obviously as you can see when i start doing things on my pc, the cpu starts to downclock and behaiv normally. Why is that? Obvs i cant see what program is causing this cuz my pc is idle. Picture:

Guys i'm a bit baffled, i'm debating adding a 4th monitor to my work PC, but after checking the specs of my GTX460, i am a bit lost. I'm currently running 5760x1080@60 across 3 1080p monitors, using only one output from my GFX card and going into a Matrox triplehead splitter. I did this because i knew my card only supports a max of 2 monitors connected to the card. So my thinking was that i can still use another port from the card to hook up a 4th screen. I knew that this would mean contending with the max resolution of the card instead of max number of ports, so i checked that online, and nvidia claim the GTX460 has a max digital resolution of 2560x1600@60....... How then am i pushing 5760x1080@60 to my 3 monitors ? Baffled, help plz

I overclocked my 6700k to stable 4.6 and 4.7ghz (tested with realbench, able to run at max clock). How ever, when I test it with aida64, intel burn in, cinebench, the cpu doesn't reach max oc clock it usually stay between 4.2-4.5.I don't know what caused it. I cleared cmos, reinstalled windows, turn off c state and est but the problem still there. When every settings is at stock (cpu and motherboard), the clock never stay at 4.2 ghz when using cinebench, intel burn in, and aida64. It only stay at 4.0ghz. The 6700k should get up to 4.2ghz when under load.PLZ helpppp I am using the kraken x61 and msi z170a pc mate motherboard.

Hi, Overlclocked my i5 3570k to 4.8GHz on water cooling (H100I), its at 1.5voltage as i used offset auto voltage. I dont care too much about long term lifespan as i do about performance as my CPU is end of life anyway in my rig, just dont wanna use voltage which outright fries it max temps when using Prime95 85*C (81,84,85,81) Running it with a GTX 1080 (upgraded from GTX Titan Original Edition), so my 3rd gen i5 cpu is problably the bottleneck, so every mhz counts. Would you guys say 1.5v as ok with these temps?

Basically I want to know how far a RAM Module can be Overclocked whilst remaining stable. Is it possible to take a standard RAM Module with no heatsink and increase its overclocking headroom by adding an aftermarket heatspreader? Can RAM be overclocked in the same way that a CPU can, at the expense of extra heat and requiring extra voltage to stabalise it? Can I take 2400mhz RAM and OC it to 3200mhz? The module i have in mind is the G Skill Value Ram Module Kit. Ideally I want to hit 3200mhz as that is the max RAM OC that my mobo supports. Does anyone have any input on this. I'd like to know?

So I am returning for my second year studying game design and the primary programs we use are 3DS Max and UE4. Due to "travel related trauma" my motherboards second RAM slot has just given up on life and my computer wouldn't even post if I had RAM in that slot. For the past few months I've been running with 8Gb in one slot (which is fine for gaming over the summer) but in my first year I had 16Gb across the two slots. I am wondering if I need to replace my motherboard so I can use 16Gb again or would 8Gb of RAM be enough for 3D modelling and game development in UE4, Photoshop etc. I assume it would be fine, especially since I really don't want to spend £129 on a brand new identical motherboard or around the same price for a single 16Gb stick of RAM at the same speed of my 2x8Gb. Any thoughts or whatever would be appreciated, thanks!

So I got myself an older HP desktop computer and right now its got like 3 gigs of memory. I have looked online and according to crucial website, it can take up to 32gigs of memory, but all I can find is kits of 16 (8x2). I am wondering if it has anything to do with udimms or regular dims. I haven't really any experience in memory in older computers and was wondering what all I need to know in order to upgrade this computer.

I plan to upgrade to an i7-7700K in the future and I've been looking for a CPU cooler that could fit into both my case and my budget ($75). I found just 3 brands at my price point: Zalman, Deepcool and Cooler Master, which one's better? It needs to be under 160mm (max. height).

Is it normal that my gpu is running at 74*C at 100% load when gaming? It it to hot?

Hi! I have a 4x4 memory kit rated at 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 @1.5v. Ive seen many kits rated at a whatever frequency @ 1.65v. Should I pump 1.65v and aim for 1866?

Hi guys! I have a massive problem which I can't really figure out. 2 days ago, I was watching youtube when it started to get laggy as hell and all together miserable. After that, I checked what's up as usual (Task manager) and got 99% at core 3. Funny thing, only the Chrome was opened, nothing else. Never had that before. Got BSOD after that and that's it. PC restarted, and after ~30 seconds after boot to windows, it started again. It took core 1 now. Decided, to hell with that, I need to format system anyways as last time I did that was like 2 years ago, went for it. For around 20 minutes was fine, installed chrome, lightshot, MSI Afterburner and HWiNFO64. It came back. I have all of those programs from their official websites, had them on pc for over a year before it all started, and didn't do anything else with PC in the meantime, except playing games and watching youtube. Got any ideas? [HWiNFO64 sensor record - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CauAfHTEHEmm9ItYVUvRCQMW1USxwE0f] Edit: Forgot to add, CCcleaner - no issues, Windows Defender, full scan - no issues. It's PROBABLY not a virus.

So I'm upgrading an old pc and i've decided to buy ryzen 3 2200g and later on add a dedicate gpu. I'm planning on overclocking both the cpu and gpu and maybe ram. I've looking a lot at prices for ram/cases and other stuff and ive come across this huge sale of amd wraith max. It costs aprox 37$/32 euros.(50% off, dont know if it was overpriced). Ilove the look of those amd stock coolers and i was wondering if this cooler does good compared to other same price level coolers on the market. Also wondering if it will fit on msi b450m bazooka mobo without covering a ram slot or smth (im not really good at mobos). I need answers asap.

I have a Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H mobo with an I7 3770 with Ivy Bridge. Mobo specs https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-B75M-D3H-rev-10/sp#sp . The specs say the mobo can handle up to 32 GB RAM. I can assume this is based off of 4x8 GB sticks. Is there a way to tell if it will do 2x16 of DDR3 at 1600 MHz? Without buying and testing? The general memory support list, (https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_ga-b75m-d3h.pdf) shows up to 8 GB modules. I haven't found anything that says it doesn't support a 16 GB module. This is a cheap, for fun, build. Trying to spend as little money as possible, but also max it out, because I can... if it's cheap enough.

Hello everyone so I am currently in the process of building my new gaming PC however I don't understand how NVME m.2 slots work or PCI slots. The motherboard I am using for my build is a MSI B450 Tomahawk Max (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX/Specification). I wanted to get a 1tb M.2 SSD along with a 2tb HDD for my build, but I was confused because I read that if I use the m.2 slot I will disable my sata ports, so I am now unsure if I can even use the m.2 slot. So if someone can point out what I am missing here and/or point me in the right direction of what ssds and HDDs to buy I will be very thankful. Also sorry if this is a stupid question, I plan on getting a PCI wifi card for my build too and I read that some ssds use PCI slots so now I am worried if the wifi card will interfere with my 1tb SSD and 2tb HDD build. Here is a list of what parts I have so far (change motherboard with MSI tomahawk max I am returning the gigabyte motherboard) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7hwjrV

I've been running my MSI GS60 6QE Ghost Pro for the past 4 or so years (can't remember exactly) and while the 970m never set anything ablaze, for my requirements of needing a thin and light that I can use at home, work and travelling by train (live in the UK), the gaming has been of a sufficient standard but I also got it for a good enough price to be able to forgive it's short comings. Having said that, I played the entire Witcher series, Skyrim, Doom, Darksiders series, Castlevania Lords of Shadow series, Elite: Dangerous, Deus Ex series and FarCry 3&4 happily. The only games I came up against issues with was Space Hulk: Deathwing (heavy stuttering with too many Genestealers on screen) and Battlefield 4 the latter of which put me off FPS games having been a fan from the original PC Call of Duty/MOHAA days and through my XBox 360 interlude years. My question is this: Knowing what I've been used to and the fact my purchase needs to see me through another half decade of use, with RTX MaxQ designs crippled over the full fat or non maxq laptop derivatives the way they are, and that GTX laptops have been known to out perform them on release. Has their been a substantial enough movement with drivers etc since RTX MaxQ release that they won't leave me with buyers remorse 12 months from now? I've been looking at both the Alienware m15 & m17 that I can get both with 2070 MaxQ and Razer Blade Pro 17 with the RTX 2080 MaxQ. Obviously I'm looking to sufficiently enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes out but I'd really like to dive back into Space Hulk: Deathwing and truly appreciate what it has to offer properly. I also have the possibility of being able to stretch the Alienwares Area 51m with it's full fat RTX 2080 but the portability then becomes the issue. Is an RTX MaxQ worth upgrading to for longevity? MSI GS60 6QE Ghost Pro Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ, RAM: 16GB Storage: 128GB SSD (PCIe Gen3x4) + 1TB SATA HDD (7200RPM) Graphics: Nvidia GeForce® GTX 970m 3GB GDDR5 As an addendum: My son is interested in VR and it would also be worth knowing if it's worth looking at headsets for this for Christmas for him to use with it if performance isn't an issue. Pls halp...
