  1. I'm looking for a case that will fit Asrock AB350M-HDV and it's not higher than 440mm. I found a few from Cooler Master or Fractal Design, but I wonder what would you recommend? EU, budget about 50 euro (but cheaper is better unless it's really not)
  2. New 8700k matx build

Since having children, my gaming hours have shifted in to the late evenings which has required my office door to be closed, turning it in to a sauna (see my other rig below). I decided it was worth building a smaller single GPU system in an effort to remain somewhat 'cool'. I'd like to hear your thoughts/criticism. One criticism with my last build was the non sleeved psu cables so I grabbed a kit for this one even though you can't really see any of them. Specs: Intel 8700k (EKWB Supremacy MX block) MSI Z370M Pro Gaming MSI 1080 Ti 'aero' (EKWB FC nickel + acetal block + backplate) 32GB Corsair Dominator 3000 (4x8GB, waiting on the other pair to arrive) 2x Samsung 960 Pro 1TB EKWB Coolstream 240mm and 120mm radiators EKWB XRES DDC 3.1 MX pump+res 4x Gentle Typhoon 1450rpm, 1x 1850rpm Inwin 301 matx case LEPA G1600 PSU (unnecessary but I have a few laying around)
  3. Firstly thank you to those mentioned in the above image for supporting my endeavors once again! I'm very excited to start my next personal project R1.0 INDUSTRIAL, after several months of collaborations it's great to be back in full control deciding my own specification. Not only that but setting the pace myself and taking the time to photograph everything and get it all out on the forums! So a little writing about the project first to get things going, much like LIGHTNING this is centered around a very special piece of hardware and providing it with all of the power and cooling required is the main focus. The build won't be adorned with anything unnecessary however no compromises will be made along the way either. As the name implies aesthetically it will remain subtle and raw with nothing for show but nothing to hide. I intend to apply this way of thinking to each individual element and hopefully the end result will remain sympathetic to it's origin. As of this moment I don't have every part but I definitely won't be straying far from what I have decided as so many will be integral to the design of the case. I will elaborate on the reasoning as I unbox things but already it's clear that I have opted for completely colour neutral products with extremely reserved branding. Because there is just something about being instantly hit with 6 fully formed PCIe power connectors that it would be rude to hold back. It comes as quite a shock when 6 screws later a magnificently elegant Cooler Master solution is unveiled, clearly far more attention was put into this than just doubling up their single card efforts. But lets take an even closer look and not pretend a standard cooling solution was ever going to last long in my hands. Very rapidly all kinds of beautiful secrets were exposed, two massive cores, PLX chips and endless power circuitry neatly tessellated inbetween. Considering the PCB size is no bigger than what would be found on a single GPU GDDR5 card the density is insane. A good cleaning was in order to reveal the mirror perfect Fiji cores and all the little High Bandwidth Memes! Already from the little bit of performance testing I managed to do (yeah these two cards instantly smashed my overclocked quad 780Ti's) and my time spent taking them apart I am completely in love with these cards. The brutal insolence of power, crossfire, PLX chips and the effort taken to package everything so elegantly together is astounding. I'll be back very soon with a preview of the case! JR
  4. I'm looking for a case preferably a mAtx oriented case with an included power supply of at least 450w. It needs to be under 50 dollars. The more fans it includes, the better. Thank you!
  5. Background: I'm looking to build a small form factor gaming rig to replace my nearly 10 year old current PC. It's served well, but it's an i7 920 and it's just not able to keep up anymore. I've only built Intel systems previously, but I'm liking the AMD Ryzen line because of the promised forward compatibility to 2020 so that I have some room to upgrade if something much better comes out. Also, the lower prices don't hurt. Budget: right around $1600 Location: Near Austin, TXSpecific Use: Web browsing/Netflix, lots of spreadsheets, occasional administrative work from home, and gaming. My gaming is mostly Ark or WoW with a side of Stellaris or Civ.Any preferred components?: I'd really like to move to something smaller than my (huge) full tower chassis so I want to explore an MATX build if that's doable for the gaming I do. Also, I'd like to go Ryzen unless there's a huge performance difference between that and a relative similar priced Intel? Oh, and I really want to cram an NVME boot drive into this price.Any spare parts you can re-use?: I have a 1000w PSU (this is probably way overkill - is it worth the cost to scale down?) and a Radeon 390 or 390x (I'll have to double check that). If it's still good enough to work then I have no issue reusing it in my next build. Oh, and an optical drive, if I need it.Overclocking your processor?: Nope.Need an Operating System?: Yes, I think it's time that I purchased Windows 10.Need a Monitor? / Mouse? / Keyboard?: I would like to upgrade my monitors sometime later, but that doesn't need to be part of the price here. My mouse and keyboard are in good working condition.Need a Wireless Card or Adapter? Nope.Need Another Component? (Specify): Speakers, for the love of Gaben. I have to use my headset for everything and that's really bad for my hearing. I don't need top of the line, but something with good sound quality and a smallish profile for >$75 of the budget would be nice.Preferred Case Features: I want something significantly smaller than my current HAF 832. Also, I'm not a fan of white cases as my husband's 10 month old NZXT Phantom 630 is already very yellow in places. Windows are meh for me. They're cool, but almost always on side of the case that faces a wall. Number of Monitors: 2 (or three... I really do want three, but I'm told that's overkill).Other Info?: I'm probably about 2-3 months from this budget so ballparks are fine. I know prices change. 6. Smallest mATX case

let's get to the point. here's my spec: - intel g4560 stock cooler - galax nvidia gtx 1050 oc single fan - galax 120gb 2.5" sata3 - WDC blue 1TB sata3 3.5" - cougar STX 450w - ASRock h110m-hdv - Geil EVO X RGB 1x8gb 2133mhz DDR4 Currently i'm using Cube Gaming Berg case, but damn that case is so big for my small and minimalistic components. so far the smallest case i've found is In Win 301 but that is too expensive if the prices combined with import cost (i live in indonesia), roughly $205 (the case only $82.23 including tax). can i have much smaller case that still support up to mATX board? with PSU cover and cable management support too... and.... can i get free shipping somehow?
  7. Case with 4 bays.

I really need a case with 4 5.25 inch expansion bays for a nas/pfsense pc. Must not be mitx or smaller
  8. I'm after a new case to house my mATX motherboard and would like some recommendations of good options. Not too worried about price. Must have: 1+ 5.25" bays 2+ 3.5" bays 2+ 2.5" bays Filtered fan intakes Full size power supply support Full size CPU tower support mATX support Would prefer: No window "Professional" aesthetics as opposed to "gamer" aesthetics Small Thanks in advance
  9. So, I currently have a full size case and I don't have enough room for it. For a new case I would prefer to keep it from overheating, although I don't plan on OC'ing anytime soon. I want something small enough to take to LAN parties pretty easily, and ones that either come with a handle, or have a strong enough roof so I can install one. I currently am running a mATX motherboard, 120mm high cooler for my i5 6600k, and a 1070 at a little less than 250mm, also full size PSU. I am not insanely rich either... "plz no 100+ dollors"
  10. Is there any case specifically a micro atx case with vertical PCI slots (at least two) and preferentially a clear side panel? I can't seem to find any.. Thank you in advance.
  11. Hello guys! I am going to try an mATX SLI build with two MSI GTX 960 4gb and I would be using the MSI z97m Gaming board. I was wondering what are the temperatures of the GPUs in this setup if ever anyone has ever tried this or anyone who has ever tried an mATX SLI setup. I was also wondering if the SLI would fit a case which is only 4 slots for the gpu. Do you guys think this would fit? People suggested that I would rather have a midtower case with many slots but i'm really just planning on a not so big build. One choice I have is the Tecware F3 Full Acrylic and i am not sure if the SLI setup would fit. Do you guys have any suggestions on what budget case should I choose for this setup? Thanks guys! Your suggestions are highly appreciated!
  12. My First Build

Well the title says it , this will be my first desktop build in like ....um..... 10-12 years of using laptops.I would appreciate any and all comments and suggestions about the parts picked. One thing I have to mention is Im a bit limited on part variety since Im getting all the parts from the same shop where Ill be getting them on leasing (dont have the cash to drop at once). This is the site for the shop for whoever wants to look at prices or what I can pick from , please have in mind site quality is bad and the currency is in Bulgarian Lev. - www.most-sz.com/ SO on to the build and why it is as it is - I wanted a small pc (ended picking Mid tower build for more Cpu cooling options) , which will MOSTLY , but not only be used for movies , youtube , music and such , and sometimes Dota and other not so high and mighty games. 13. Hello, I am planning on building a new setup inside of a Corsair Air 240 with a micro ATX mobo. I already have two EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 edition for SLI, however I am afraid that because it is a mATX mobo, there is only one slot between the two PCIE slots, basically making the cards stack one on top of the other with VERY little to no room in between. My question is, will this cause the second card to heat up quickly (since they are both open air design) to the point where it is not worth it? I am currently running a mid atx build (upgrading from Sandy Bridge to the 8700k) and there are two slot spaces, which gives it enough room to breath and stay moderately warm. What do you guys think? And yes, I really want to do a micro ATX build for this next rig. Thanks!
  14. Some may remember 7 April 2016, when the kickstarter for Cerberus failed to reach the backer target. More than a year later... EDITED for TL;DR: They got it to work on their own (and also on their own dime). During the past year they've sold a few beta assemblies to a few commercial clients and people who are seriously interested in the case. The case will be made and sold by Sliger Designs There are now two size variants: the original mATX design and an ATX size dubbed Cerberus-X
  15. Seems like everyone can agree that at this time, Asus has the best Micro ATX AM4 boards (for B350 at least). That's fair. Yeah...right, good. Except that they have basically two options: the Prime and the Tuf. The Prime (both versions) looks fine. Except that I'm going to have MANY case fans in my rig, and the Asus Prime has ONE case fan header. Can you blame me for being unsure if I should attempt plugging 5-7 case fans into one header..? And sure, there are hubs, but if I want PWM control, even if that's the same control for all of the fans identically, I'd still have to use that one header. Let me know if you've done that successfully, but for now I really won't touch that. The Tuf on the other hand has two headers, which I feel better about using splitters on each to separate the load. So that's kind of a win. My issues with the Tuf are as follows: there are no reviews for it on Amazon US which is where I'm buying my parts. That makes me pretty uncomfortable. Also, the yellow detailing....it's...not exactly what I'm looking for. I actually like it, it just doesn't go with my build. My point is this: Where's the selection??? If everyone says MSI B350's suck and that I should get Asus B350's, but both Asus options feel like I'm settling for less, and when what I REALLY want is a proper X370 in a freaking Micro ATX form factor, then what the heck is the answer..? I can't not get a Micro ATX build. I don't have the space for a colossus. I'm also a fan of medium towers in the cube shape. I need many case fans because not only do I want RGB to show off my build, but I want a very strong positive air pressure to keep out most of the HUGE amounts of dust I have in my closet of an apartment. I thought that mid tower Micro ATX builds were on the rise in a really big way in terms of popularity and all. Does anyone find it a bit odd that there's no diversity in mATX boards for the AM4 platform..? I know it's new, but it isn't THAT new. No enthusiast boards for AM4 Micro build?? Furthermore, does anyone have experience with any other B350 mATX boards..? Gigabyte maybe? Reviews are EVERYWHERE, and the only consensus seems that Asus is good, MSI is bad. But again, the Asus option includes two boards. Maybe someone can share their experience with Tuf..? Maybe I can drown out the yellow lol I really want to hear what people have to say about this. Maybe I'm completely misguided on all of this. Thanks for stopping by though!
  16. I've been wanting to build a Ryzen system for a good long while now. The only thing holding me back from pulling the proverbial trigger is a complete lack of Micro ATX X370 boards. Hell, I'd take a half decent B350 from ASUS, but none seem to exist. Are they working on it? I can't tell.

I would add in a Hard Drive if it won't be too noisy. May get a BQ Pure Rock Slim cooler if the Wraith Spire isn't quiet enough. As for the Wifi adapter, I'll see how it works out before spending $40 on a PCIE adapter. Are two case fans enough?
  18. I want relatively small form factor. I'm going with Raijintek Styx (MATX) or Raijentek Metis Plus (ITX) for the case. I want to overclock very well, but I don't need 2-way SLI or liquid cooling. Only the ITX boards have Wifi built in, and they're pricy at $115-150. Is the built in Wifi good? Would I be better off getting the cheaper $80 MATX board and buying an adapter to go inside the case? Is MITX very limiting in what air coolers it can accomodate? Would going the MITX route result in significantly higher temps and noisier fans?
  19. I'm looking at cases. I'm willing to spend more than $50 on a case because a good aesthetic never goes obsolete. So far the Carbide Air 240 looks like both the sexiest and the most capable case. However, are there cases that are better looking and more size efficient?
  20. Most MATX cases just seem like Mid-Tower builds with the top 25% chopped off, which won't save much deskspace. Or they're almost as wide as a 90's printer Right now I'm leaning toward the Carbide 240 Air because of the sexiness, even though it is not the smallest MATX.. Any good MATX cases that are almost small enough to be ITX.
  21. Phanteks mATX airflow

Tricky but fun. I've a phanteks enthoo evolv matx, planning to go full air cooling So, the stock chassis has got a sp200mm and sp140mm fan, my plan is to take on another 2 x af140mm, tricky bit is where to put the AF or SP, so here goes: mockup 1: Design restrictions on the mATX non TG, I stack a sp140mm behind the sp200mm, with an 2 x af140mm exhaust on top and rear, with an optical drive mounted at the back mockup 2: my planned setup, screw the optical drive, 2 intakes 2 exhausts, with 2 SP fans to create positive pressure in front and 2 af fans for exhaust. However, as you can see there is a gap between the filter and the intake sp140mm, will it be better to use the af140 instead to recycle air around, and use the sp140 as the top exhaust that punch through the covered filter? mockup 3: be more creative than phanteks themselves, instead of mounting the optical drive at the slot at the back, swap place with the fan and mount it sideways, each time you want to use it, you swing open the glass cover Sff workstation mainly, not alot of gaming, little oc, should I opt for a blower gtx 1070 for air temps inside chassis? I need inputs, let me know what you guys think yea, cheers
  22. I am currently helping one of my friends build a new computer, he likes the White MSI arctic motherboard. So we need to find a white mAtx case.
  23. I would like an opinion or two about my first, proposed, venture into liquid cooling. This is the case I have: Fractal Design Define Mini It has 1x120/140 radiator/fan mounting area at the top of the case. It also has 1x120 fan mounting area at the back of the case. For the CPU alone, I am considering a 140 radiator at the top and a 120 radiator at the inside back of the case. 1 2x5.25" drive bay available for a resevoir. Q1: Will this suffice to liquid cool a i9-7900x ? Q2: Two separate radiators connected in-line for the CPU an "Ok" or "Passable" strategy? The positioning of the top 140mm radiator might negate the back radiator because of the locale: Top Back 140mm and Rear Top 120mm radiator are in the same proximity. But, it might work. Q3a: Will a single 140 radiator/fan suffice for cooling the CPU? Q3b: Will Q3a allow the CPU to run at 4.3/4.5 GHz? I plan on running this at 4.50 GHz or maybe less, like 4.30 GHz. OC'ing the CPU is not something that I really need or that I "have to have." Not overclocking the GPU. Budget is maybe $400 USD to $500 USD for liquid cooling. Looking for comments/concerns.
  24. Hi guys, I need a good value case for a micro-ATX gaming rig. I was going for a SFF slim ITX case, however looking for a bigger size for better cooling and overall lower prices in mobo and PSU. I prefer to avoid cube-like shapes for better portability tho (e.g. ability to travel with it in a luggage). What do you recommend? Thanks.
