Hi I just need to know there any way to update this old phone to a latest android (v6 r v7) anything possible .... Meanwhile I tried updating to lollipop but my Jio sim is not working at all and tried almost all way but no success.... But the thing I just need to know whether there is way to change the ROM on this phone and plz share a link if you know it. If any one knows plz reply me !

so i have this phone htc 820G+ and i this phone does not get system updates. i looked up in the internet and other users are also complaining about it as HTC is not sending any. the OS im currently having is kitkat and i want to upgrade it to lollipop or marshmallow but i havent found any sources for that as well. however i have seen people installing CyanogenMod 13, but there is some risk too as some people have got various features in their device not working and there are successful people too.i just want to know if its worth taking the risk to put CyanogenMod 13.is it just some software that makes your phone look like it has marshmallow or does it actually have atleast some of its features?

So, I have been looking for a ROM for my Huawei P8 lite (ALE-L02) but most ROMs I have found the camera recording does not work. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I am looking for a nougat/marshmallow ROM

Just installed CM 13 on my device (A galaxy S duos 2 - GT s7582) everything works just fine but the battery does not charge. I tried everything from AC to USB but it just shows that it's charging and is stuck at 3%. The phone does charge when turned off but not when it's on so it is for sure a software error. Any possible fixes?

So the Droid Turbo was updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in India and i'm curious if I can get the update on mine by factory resetting my phone and setting location to India or if there is any other way to receive the update without rooting (I can't pay for sunshine and kingroot doesn't work)

Ive got a Meizu M3 Note, and have recently added the SIM from my work phone to it in order to use the masses of mobile data my work provides. My phone can use both SIMs, and gets a solid connection, but when I set it so that my work SIM is used for mobile data, it stops receiving a connection via my personal SIM. any idea why this would be happening?

Hey guys, recently I rooted my nexus 5x in order to gain 'stereo speakers'. Unfortunately there became an addiction. In 24 hours i had tried around 4 ROMS and finally settled with stock android but rooted. I would like to know some of your must have rooted applications! Hi guys, I recently got a HTC One M8 - and was wondering if anyone could provide me some help on the small peeves I have with it. This is probably just marshmallow though, so any help is really appreciated! I upgraded from a 4S, and while I am loving this phone and hence the new version of android, there are still some things that bug me and am sure there will be a fix for. First of all - When I am playing music through Spotify, I can't skip songs or pause etc from the lock screen - I am forced to unlock the phone in order to do so Second of all - Similar issue, I can see what notifications I have from the lock screen, but the content is always hidden, I would rather be able to read messages from my lock screen if possible Third and final - The keyboard is good, but the predictive text is kind of annoying, I like that you can save words to the dictionary but, it always prompts me to, which is irritating. Basically, are there levels of 'tolerance' I can set for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I haven't used android for years and am effectively a noob. Thanks in advance!

Ok. So. I'm pretty new to the Android software game, so this may be a pretty easy fix, but its something that's been bothering me for awhile. I have an HTC one M8, with 6.20 Android Marshmallow operating system. There is no launcher on it, just the normal HTC. The problem I'm having is with the moving emoji feature on Snapchat video. The update has supposedly been out for Android devices since April, however it just doesn't work on my phone, despite my phone being updated, as well as the app. And I wouldn't think my phone is too outdated. It's only 2 years old. Like I said this is probably a very petty/small scale problem, but idk what to do. Ive tried all the ways the emoji feature is supposed to work (tap, hold, etc.) yet it still doesn't work. If anyone has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have MOTO G3 XT1542 with Android 6 and it's been working extremely bad since I upgraded it from Lollipop, I want to Unlock the phone for either installing CyanogenMod or downgrading to Lollipop: First step for unlocking is enabling Developer Options and Inside Developer Options enable OEM Unlocking, well... I dont have OEM Unlocking! Well.. I've been reading "If it doesnt appear it's not necessary to enable it" Alright I Skipped step one, I requested my Unlock code and got to the last step where I have this error "Bootloader error make sure you enable OEM Unlocking in Developer Options" so..? The crazy part is that if I go to settings and I touch the Search icon and I write OEM, it appears, it finds it but after tapping me it takes me to Developer Options where it's not there... My friend has the exact same phone from the same career and he has the option. I really need to get this fixed somehow, Android 6 is really buggy i've encountered a problem today that there is no lock screen, home button won't work and notifications bar wont work (doesnt show notifications and doesnt even scroll down)

Hello all. I recently updated to Android Marshmallow(and without my permission I might add). If you're not familiar with Android Marshmallow, it is Google's latest version to their Android OS. In this review, I will be using an HTC M8 as this is my only Android device that I use/own, so this will be my impressions on the changes that both Google and HTC have made in this version. This will not be super in-depth, but it goes allow me to give some of my thoughts that I have garnished over the course of a week using this new OS from Google. I will be throwing in a few screenshots(which will be retained in their original formatting, but will be placed inside of spoilers), showcasing some new icons and Google's improved permissions feature, so let's get started. The first thing I tried out was holding down the power button to see what options I would get, and honestly they were much of the same, but the icons were different, and more colorful, which I actually quite enjoy. Moving on, I enabled Power Saver as I use that from time-to-time, and it gave a nice indication that it was on within the notification drawer and it also gave a bigger button to disable it if desired. However, it gave no icon in the status bar when the drawer was closed, which was present in the previous version. In my view, this needs to be re-added as I found it very useful to have a nice quick glance if was enabled or not. Moving on, we also have a Battery optimization button as well shown in the above screenshot. This initially confused me, but not because of the intended function, but rather because it would change the default view every time I left that portion of the Settings app. Upon further investigation, battery optimization was still being done. Not only do you get a view of the apps that are having it done, but you can also choose individual apps to have it done, or not have it done. Screenshot showing the filters, allowing you to change what's being viewed. Certain applications apparently do not have the feature available. Below, this is what the option looks like when you want to enable or disable the battery optimization feature for individual apps. I have no idea how well this works personally. To showcase the permissions improvements, I thought I would install a game that I had installed previously, but removed due to my ultimate nonexistent interest in it. As of right now, your permission settings are not retained upon removal of the app in your associated Google account. For a lot of these apps, I have no idea why they need access to some of these things that they request, but hey whatever. Showcased below is the game "Touch Tank" requesting permission for certain things After denying all of those above, the app has the audacity to request permission again, this time Android giving you the option to have it never occur again with the app. Upon checking it off, the Allow button will gray out completely. Okay, so during the writing of this post, I thought about the idea of later on changing the permissions of the apps, and went on exploring in the Settings app a way to do just that, and lo and behold, I found something. I navigated to a list of apps located within the Settings application, and tapped on one of the them(in this case, Airdroid), and got a slew of options. This includes Storage used, data usage, Permissions, Notifications, Open by default(whatever that does), battery usage, and RAM consumption. Navigating to app permissions grants us this screen The last thing that I went to show is the Extreme Power Saving Mode that HTC offers. Okay, much of the same in terms of functions, and this is where I have issues with it. The feature is great, but HTC could've done more with it. For example, I use the SMS app "Textra" which is the default app, but I cannot open it directly from here, nor am I given any ability to change it. Same goes with everything else, and I cannot use the notification drawer in this mode to clear notifications, which is an annoyance. If I enable it, and I forget there's a notification there, I have to disable the mode, and then manually clear it or the LED will keep blinking at me which can be kind of distracting. This also represents an issue that I have with this mode and normal power saving mode(which retains all functions, and allows for some customization to a degree). I complained that the normal mode had no normal icon to show that it was enabled unless you pulled down the notification drawer. The Extreme mode has two icons showcasing it. Why? I clearly know that it's enabled. The interface is obviously different, so why do I need a giant icon, and a small one in the status bar? It makes absolutely no sense to me. HTC really needs to give more power to users of this mode, including the ability to change some of the apps that can be used. I'm going to briefly touch on Android's new feature App Standby. I do not have any impressions on the power draw of the device at this time, but what I will say is that my device feels a little snappier which is a positive, so good job Google. ever since i updated my s6 edge my phone never worked the way it was working before some problems i have Facebook sometimes says it is not connected to intenet so it does show new content viber never works, when i call someone and if i turn my screen off , go back to see other thing on viber, do any-other thing it disconnects right away. my email takes half an hour to refresh [not gmail but my uni email] before it took 1 sec to show new emails my music spotify stop mid way and say no more internet connection and many more i have super fast internet in my home and 4g on my data plan , there is no problem coming from internet side dont know whats wrong 1] help me 2] is there a way to go back to old version before marshmallow.

Just checked for updates on my Galaxy S6 on Sprint and am now downloading the Marshmallow update! It's 1235.87MB, so taking a bit on the slow wifi I'm currently on. Quick note for people who want to upgrade, make sure you disable encryption if you enabled it before you update or you won't be able to disable it at all afterwards. You can re-enable device encryption after the update.

Not an official review or anything, just wanted to alert people of bugs that I've experienced with the brand new March security patch for Marshmallow. Just 20 minutes or so after I installed the update, I received a call and could not hear anyone on the end of it, nor could they hear me, though it acted like nothing was wrong at all (happened with multiple people on different networks as well). A restart fixed that, then after a couple hours I picked up the phone again and found that I had zero bars; no service. I always have quite good reception at home. I restarted and it was fixed similarly to the other bug, but it just happened again and forced me to restart due to a bug for the third time in about 3 hours. A bit frustrating, and I hope Google can get some of these bugs sorted out (I assume mine aren't the only ones).

Hi Guys! So here we are, August again and Samsung Unpacked brings us yet another Galaxy smartphone, more specifically one of the Note lineup too! Now I'd like to share my first impressions of the device as being a little negative actually, it seems Samsung are lacking a little in the innovation department as of late, the S7 was practically indistinguishable from the S6 in many ways in terms of design and functionality, the Note 7 seems to be following suit. Okay so it was obvious that the Note 7 was going to carry over many of the design traits from the S7/S7Edge due to the immense popularity of those devices, but Note devices have always been heralded for their "wow" factor and stand-out specs. So why has Samsung stuck with the same processor, RAM, camera and other features? Let's rundown the specs of the Note 7 in a quick comparison against the S7 Edge for example. I was easily expecting 6GB of RAM at least and maybe a new iteration of the Exynos processor, but that hasn't happened so whether or not the phone's new gimmicks are going to be received well by consumers is yet to be discovered. Of course another reason for keeping to the same internal specifications as the S7 Edge on the Note 7 may have something to do with the fact that the S7 has been rated by many blogs and tech forums as "the" smartphone to buy so far this year, which leads us to further speculate on the S8 (or whatever it will be called) and how much innovating Samsung are going to do there. Just realised I forgot to mention the fact that the Note 7 is the first Samsung smartphone to feature USB-C 3.0 as well which is a nice touch, the reversible connector is sure to please many!

Hey guys i dont know if any of you have the same problem but since i updated my samsung galaxy s5 to android 6 my phone just randomly restart when i want to unlock it. so when i hit the power button shortly it vibrates and turns off and on again which is very annoying. i tried to do the whole "wipe cache" thing and i did a factory reset aswell but the problem keeps coming back. do you guys know a solution? you would make my life much easier thanks a lot!

Hello everyone, I'm having an issue that googling the answer isn't too helpful. I'd rather have up to date responses on this problem. So, I'm trying to download my music from Amazon music to my device to play offline. Unfortunately, when I try to download it, after I confirm the permission to access my gallery, a window pops up saying "System overlay detected" and telling me to go into the app settings and disable the overlay. So when I do that, there is no app that has an overlay to interfere. It's the Night mode built into Oxygen OS on the oneplus 3. I am unable to disable this because of it being in the OS. I've only had the idea to uncheck the System UI in the settings, but still no results. Answers on other forums I found state that it's a marshmallow issue and they've gotten success by disabling third party apps that add screen filters like twilight. But all these people are using external filter apps. Mine is built in. Is there any solution to this problem so I can download my music.

Let me give you a timeline of my experience with the best phone I have ever used... For awhile. When I first purchased my G4 about a year ago I was unbelievably pleased. The camera was great, it was fast, the battery lasted for nearly 2 days, and the screen was great (The only thing that has held up with this phone). For awhile I did not have a single issue with the phone. My experience was going great and I couldn't stop telling others about it. However, this "new phone high" only lasted a few months. Eventually issues began to arise for no clear reason. (The phone always had a case on it and I took care of it well never tampering with software or anything of that sort.) First, I noticed a massive drop in battery life. I used to be able to go to school (a massive concrete building that hates cell service), and have nearly 70% of my battery when I would come home, even with a decent amount of use during classes. However, it soon became an issue that my phone would die within a few hours. Originally I thought I torched the battery somehow, however this was not the case. After reviewing performance through multiple analytics apps, the bloatware was simply raping my phone battery incessantly. At first I tried force stopping unnecessary processes, but this only helped a little bit since the processes would just reopen themselves anyways. Then on top of that the wall charger died within 4 months and I was stuck without quick charge. Which, while not entirely detrimental, anyone who has had to revert from quick charge to standard knows how incredibly annoying and slow it can be to charge a 3ah battery on a .8a regular charger. Overall, I was becoming very fed up with all the issues the phone had been having even though it wasn't even a year old. Especially towards the lack of software updates and support from AT&T and LG on these issues. However, on Tuesday I finally got my wish for an update. I got prompted with a message to install marshmallow and thought well great sure I want to. I probably should have done a bit of research first... Most certainly a lesson for the future. For the first 36 hours everything was going pretty smooth. I appreciated the slight changes in design and I believe I noticed some performance benefits as well. Then last night I got a notification for a text message and so I went to flip open the cover (I have the quickcircle case). Guess what happened when I opened up my cover. Please go for it guess. My phone was a brick. For no reason whatsoever it went from working to being bricked while in idle. Restarting the phone would get me to a reboot loop, but I couldn't even get that to happen without taking out and replacing the battery first. Without a doubt I was PISSED that I was recommended with a message from AT&T to download an update that would kill my phone. On top of the fact that their online support team is atrocious. To make this even better I brought my phone into the store this evening and (I do not blame the store reps for the issues I had with AT&T while I was there) after sitting with a rep on hold with corporate for 45 minutes the woman who finally answers slurs every sentence. She then went on to try and research pointless "troubleshooting" that she clearly was reading from the website that she had no experience with. Mostly throwing a hissy fit that the store doesn't keep extra batteries even though we told her multiple times the phone shoes that it can not only charge, but is at 70% battery. (Now let me preface the rest of my rant by saying I'm still covered by the fucking warranty). Her solution to my brick of a phone that gets stuck into an infinite loop every time it turns on and crashes when you try to factory reset is to (try to hold back your laughter hear) send me a new battery. What. An. Imbecile. On top of that she told me I have to not only pay for shipping, wait a week for it to arrive, and then go to the post office to purchase return shipping if it still isn't working. Apparently when you buy a phone from AT&T and their negligence breaks it, you're just shit out of luck for a few weeks until their incompetent support team decides to send you someone else's phone that was refurbished. I officially now can not contact any of my friends, I have now lost out on any potential clients through my home business, and I have no way of getting help if something happens to me while I'm away from home. It honestly blows my mind that this is considered not only legal, but acceptable business practice. If AT&T's support is this bad... I do not even want to know what it's like to be a customer of Sprint or T-Mobile. I don't think I had this many issues with my old I-Phone 5 for christ's sake. In conclusion LG sucks, AT&T sucks, the entire phone market sucks, and I still hate everyone.

how can i update my sony z1 to android 6.0? it seems it wont receive the official update even though it's processor isn't that much different from z2.

Xperia z5/z5 compact/z5 premium owners, how many of you have actually received the 6.0 Marshmallow update on your device? I have the compact and I'm still waiting in the UK.

I was wondering if anyone has an explanation for why it takes so long for most android devices to receive software updates. I'll use Samsung as the example here because they're one of the worst and I have the most experience with them. At this point, Android 6.0 marshmallow has been out for around 5 months. I am just now hearing about the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 getting marshmallow updates in some places. I refuse to belive that a company as large as Samsung with as many resources as they have is incapable of delivering updates to their flagship phones within a reasonable time window. Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems like companies like Samsung just dont care about their devices that much once they've sold them which seems like a really bad business model considering that many people plan to keep their phone for 2 or more years. Any thoughts?

I have a Nvidia Shield Tablet and I am considering encrypting the tablet. Its running Andriod Marshmallow and its the new Shield K1 tablet so its fairly fast but I was wondering if there was a noticeable impact on it if I did. Its not essential on this device as its just going to be a gaming and media device to be honest but I do like encrypting stuff tbh so if there is no real performance hit I'll most likely do it. Was trying to read up on it online but just found articles about either the Shield Tablet or the fact that Andriod Marshmallow has encryption on as default in most cases for new devices. Anyone know anything about this or happen to read an interesting article on this lately?

Hi, Sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread but am new and don't know what this problem comes under. My HTc One m8 tried doing an auto update to Android marshmallow but when it rebooted it had an error and now wont launch into android at all. When i turn on the phone all i get is the Android recovery menu*. I will attach pictures of what i can see, I purchased the phone about 8 months ago and its not cover by a warranty. I was running the google now launcher.
