  1. Source: http://videocardz.com/45548/nvidia-launch-geforce-gtx-750-ti Apparently, I and @M-ursu posted at the some time, his article has some more information: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/54747-gtx-750ti-%E2%80%93-specifications-leaked/ So apperantly, NVIDIA is going (rumoured) to release the 750 Ti. The card will be more powerful then the current 660, it will feature 12 more ROPs, higher clock/boost speeds and a wider memory bus.
  2. Thats right, we all knew GTA V was special, this just goes to show how much. GTA V is the single most expensive video game in the history of the same. Its budget is even more then Hollywood Movies, second only to the highest Budget Film ever made. Lets take a look at them. GTA V Most Expensive Video Game Vs. AAA Games Lets begin by quoting the Budget of GTA V. This is a figure that is not readily available so we will take a quote from the most authentic source we could find, according to which its 265 Million Dollars. From there on it is an easy matter to compare the budget of GTA V to those of the rest of the game Industry. We can see that GTA V is in a league of its own with the only game anywhere near it GTA IV with a budget of 100 Million Dollars. Top AA Titles like Crysis 3, Halo 3, Gran Tourismo 5, and Final Fantasy Series have budget of around 60 – 85 Million Dollars. The Cheapest is the cost of one Half Life Episode – 12 Million Dollars. The Average Game Budget is supposed to be 24 Million Dollar. So GTA V Most Expensive game in video game history? Definitely. You could have 20 Half Life Episodes in GTA V’s Budget. GTA V Most Expensive Video Game Vs. High Budget Hollywood Films If you are thinking it would be unfair to compare a Games budget to a High End Movie Budget you couldnt be more wrong. In fact if GTA V would have been a movie it would be the Second Highest Budgeted Film in the History of Film. Thats right GTA V Most Expensive Video Game beats every Hollywood budget ever set with the exception of Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End As you can clearly see no High Budget Film has a higher budget then GTA V. Yes, Not Even Avatar. The only exception to the rule being Pirates. The folks over at Rockstar games put a pretty big investment in GTA V to say the least making GTA V the single Most Expensive Video Game in Gaming History. And the thing is the are probably going to get repaid multifold. Source: http://vr-zone.com/articles/grand-theft-auto-v-expensive-video-game-production-history-beats-big-budget-hollywood-films/55320.html http://wccftech.com/gta-v-most-expensive-video-game-history/
  3. If you are one of those guys who think that commercial space flight won’t start in your life time, Virgin Galactic would beg to differ. Infact Virgin Galactic is launching commercial Space Flight next year bringing Space Flight to the mere mortals, albiet by technicality only. Virgin Galactic – Space Tourism 2014 Detailed. Well when we said technicality, we meant it because space travel is still pretty much out of reach for us mere mortals unless you are willing to dish out $250 000 for 6 minutes of weightlessness. Thats right. The Virgin Galactic project involves you taking a ride in their space ship to space and back again. Everything including the take of and touch down will take 2.5 hours. That’s a joyride worth 30 Dollars per Second! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=tqYAQdNWQjQ Source: http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2012/06/09/new-rocket-plane-to-begin-space-tourist-launches-in-2014/ http://wccftech.com/virgin-galactic-space-test-2014/
  4. AMD Radeon R9 290X, has 512-bit 4GB Memory We have already heard some minor details regarding the Hawaii R9-290X GPU that it will feature a die size larger than Tahiti yet 30% smaller than NVIDIA’s GK110 core. It will be based on a 28nm process and would be available to consumers in mid-October 2013. The tipster who forwarded us the story came with two pictures showcasing what could possibly be the next generation AMD Hawaii GPU known as the R9-290X and from the looks of it, it features a 512-bit interface and a die size of around 420-430mm2. Now i have heard reports about 384-bit bus on the flagship Hawaii GPU and this seems to contradict those reports but from the looks of it, the picture seem alot more credible so i may take it as a conformation that Hawaii is going to be a beast in terms of performance. But no matter how legit this looks, take it with a grain of salt since and wait for official reveal that is going to happen just next week. New pictures were found by user "Duvar" Early performance reports show that it would end up faster than the GeForce Titan which is the absolute best GK110 card you can get at the moment for a price of $1000 US while its little brother GeForce GTX 780 which is not far behind the Titan itself can be bought for $649 US. AMD has already mentioned that they are not aiming to price their Hawaii GPU in the Ultra High-End Enthusiast range such as their Radeon HD 7990 or their rival’s NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan / GeForce GTX 690 which launched at $999 though the Radeon HD 7990 got a price drop to $799 recently. If true, we will be looking at a price range of around $599 for the top tier Hawaii GPU (XT Variant) while the Pro variant would retail for $449-$499 US. HIS R7 pictured! https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/58494-his-r7-cards-pictured/ Source: http://videocardz.com/45704/amd-radeon-r9-290x-hawaii-gpu-pictured-512-bit-4gb-memory
  5. HIS Radeon R7-250 Oland XT and R7-240 Oland Pro Graphic Cards Pictured The HIS Radeon R7-250 and HIS Radeon R7-240 graphic cards are entry level Volcanic Islands solutions which feature the Oland XT and Oland Pro graphics core respectively. The new GPUs are based on a faster variant of Cape Verde core so would end up a bit faster than the Radeon HD 7770 and Radeon HD 7750 but would be a bit slower compared to the Bonaire XTX based Radeon HD 7790. Its quite surprising that the leak is regarding GPUs built by HIS since they were the first manufacturer to officially leak the codenames of AMD’s Volcanic Islands series. HIS Radeon R7-250 ‘OLAND XT’ The HIS Radeon R7-250 makes use of the Oland XT core which is built on the 28nm process and features a clock speed ranging from 1000 MHz based and 1050 MHz boost, featuring upto 1 GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 4600 MHz and supports PCI-e x16 3.0 interface. GPU configurations currently remain unknown. HIS Radeon R7-240 ‘OLAND PRO’ The HIS Radeon R7-240 makes use of the Oland Pro core which is also built on a 28nm process but features less impressive clock speeds of 730 MHz base and 780 MHz boost while supporting upto 2 GB of DDR3 memory with a clock speed of 1800 MHz and supports PCI-e 3.0 x16 interface. It is easy to note that the Oland Pro part would feature lesser stream processors than its bigger Oland XT brother. Both cards would be available in reference and non-reference models featuring the HIS IceQ and HIS iCooler. The Oland Pro Radeon R7-240 part that has been pictured is powered by its PCI-e connector representing a TDP of 75W while the TDP for the Radeon R7-250 part remains a mystery until next week. Credit for the leak goes to Videocardz who have done an amazing job getting first information regarding AMD’s Volcanic Islands GPUs. Stay tuned for more information on the go! Read more about AMD's next gen GPU's https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/57596-amd-r9-290x-possibly-detailed/ https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/57234-all-volcanic-island-gpus-except-hawaii-feature-refreshed-hd-7000-cores/ Source: http://videocardz.com/45684/exclusive-first-peek-retail-radeon-r7-240-series-graphics-cards
  6. HIS Digital Leak Confirms AMD R-200 Series Graphic Cards – R9-290 Cards Based on Hawaii GPU A few moments ago, we detailed the possible codenames of AMD’s upcoming Volcanic Islands family of graphic cards which are going to be released in October 2013. It was only a matter of time before more credible details came along and looks like manufacturer HIS Digital has confirmed the AMD R-200 series. AMD R-200 Series codenamed ‘Volcanic Islands’ is a mix of refreshed Southern Islands cards and a new Hawaii GPU based on the new architecture. It won’t be a surprise if AMD dropped a new GPU name on the refreshed cards like they did to their mobile Solar Series GPUs codenamed ‘Venus’. Nevertheless, the codenames seem to be accurate and the AMD R-200 series would replace the Radeon HD 7000 series graphic cards after a wait of two years. The ‘R’ denotes Radeon, ’2′ denoted the family, and the other two digits would denote the graphics positioning which in the case of Hawaii based GPU would be AMD R-290 and successor to the Pitcairn cards would be denoted by the AMD R-280 branding. HIS Digital lists a total of 7 branding six GPU tiers which are listed below: "9xxx series" naming: AMD R-290 Hawaii (Tahiti’s Successor) AMD R-280 (Replacing HD 7800 Series) AMD R-270 (Replacing HD 7700 Series) AMD R-260 (Replacing HD 7600 Series) AMD R-250 (Replacing HD 7500 Series) AMD R-240 (Replacing HD 7400 Series) And even more from HIS: HIS R9 280X iPower IceQ X² Boost Clock 3GB GDDR5 PCI-E DLDVI-I/HDMI/2xMini DP HIS R7 250 iCooler 2GB DDR3 PCI-E HDMI/SLDVI-D/VGA HIS R7 250 iCooler 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E HDMI/SLDVI-D/VGA HIS R7 250 IceQ 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E HDMI/SLDVI-D/VGA HIS R7 240 iCooler 2GB DDR3 PCI-E HDMI/SLDVI-D/VGA HIS R7 240 IceQ 2GB DDR3 PCI-E HDMI/SLDVI-D/VGA HIS R7 240 iCooler 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E HDMI/SLDVI-D/VGA AMD Radeon R-200 Series Positioning GPU AMD Radeon R-200 AMD Radeon HD 7000 GPU Vesuvius Radeon R9 290 Radeon HD 7990 Malta Hawaii XT Radeon R9 280X Radeon HD 7970 Tahiti XT Hawaii PRO Radeon R9 280 Radeon HD 7950 Tahiti PRO Hawaii LE (?) Radeon R9 27(?) Radeon HD 7870 Pitcairn XT Radeon R9 270X Radeon HD 7850 Pitcairn PRO Tahiti Radeon R9 270 Radeon HD 7790 Bonaire Radeon R7 260X Radeon HD 7770 Cape Verde Pitcairn Radeon R7 250 Radeon HD 7750 Radeon R7 240 Radeon HD 7670 Turks (thanks to Vitalius) AMD Radeon R9 280X, features 3GB GDDR5 memory Radeon R9 and R7 segments, most likely to be released together. The R9 segment will kick off with R9 280X graphics card, which will replace the HD 7970 GHz Edition. This is probably the most anticipated model featuring Hawaii XT GPU. We do not know how many Stream Processors it will have, but don’t be surprised if the number is somewhere between 2304 and 2560. It is now officially confirmed that the successor to HD 7970 will have 3GB GDDR5 memory, most likely across 384-bit interface. The iPower IceQ X2 from HIS will be equipped with a Dual-DVI connector along with HDMI and two mini-DisplayPorts. Of course it will support Power Tune Boost technology as well. It looks like a direct copy of HIS 7970 IceQ X² 3GB GDDR5 PCI-E DVI/HDMI/2xMini DP (iPower). It is unknown whether guys from HIS made any changes to the cooling solution. More info: There would be two products positioning in the AMD Radeon R-200 lineup, the R9-200 series would make use of the Hawaii, Tahiti, Pitcairn GPU while the R7-200 series would feature the Cape Verde and Bonaire GPUs which are entry level models. The complete lineup would look something like the following but don’t hold your bets on this since this chart is based off preliminary information from GPU-z: The names are yet to be fully confirmed but it seems so as if the bulk of the mainstream cards would be based on older or revised versions of current Southern Islands chips. This would mean more cheaper Tahiti’s and Pitcairn’s could be on the road from AMD while the main flagship Hawaii would remain as the only new part competing against NVIDIA’s GK110 core. 7. LG Electronics is making its UltraWide series even "wider" by introducing an AIO PC with the same 21:9 screen. Many device makers are now starting to announce products they plan to showcase during the IFA 2013 show in Berlin next week. LG Electronics is one of several on the pre-IFA list, reporting that its 29EA73, 29EB73 and 29MA73 UltraWide 21:9 IPS monitors will make an appearance. Joining these will be an actual UltraWide All-In-One PC, the V960. Honestly, it was only a matter of time. The company is unsurprisingly quiet on the hardware details, waiting to unload the full surprise next week. However, LG confirmed that this UltraWide AIO PC will sport Windows 8 along with Nvidia's GeForce GT 640M GPU to handle whatever resolution LG is planning to splash across the rig's 29 inch super-wide screen (possibly 2560 x 1080). The V960 will also have HDMI input and a picture-in-picture feature so users can watch their daytime dramas while surfing for the latest soap star gossip on the same screen. "Since LG's launch of the world's first 21:9 aspect ratio monitor nearly a year ago, consumer interest in this new class of displays has seen a huge increase," said Hyoung-sei Park, head of the IT business division at LG Electronics. "The IPS 21:9 UltraWide All-In-One PC will further solidify LG's reputation as a leader in this relatively new but growing UltraWide segment." As for the three new UltraWide monitors, we covered this announcement in early August. However, the company said in a separate statement on Thursday that it also plans to unveil its new Sound Plate solution for the TV sound system industry during the Berlin-based show. This device will measure just 35 mm tall, allowing it to be placed underneath any 32 inch to 55 inch HDTV. Audio The upcoming Sound Plate will include a 4.1 channel sound system with dual built-in subwoofers. "Projecting full-bodied audio in multiple directions, the Sound Plate creates an incredibly immersive auditory experience," the company said. "LG's innovative Sound Plate also incorporates a neodymium magnet capable of producing powerful audio. Bluetooth support is also offered for easy wireless connectivity with smartphones, tablets and other wireless devices." LG's audio video lineup at IFA 2013 will also include the LG Sound Bar, the BH9530TW home theater system, Smart Blu-ray players, docking and portable speakers, and even LG's Micro Audio System (model CM3430). A number of Home Entertainment PC products will also be on hand at IFA 2013 such as the latest Ultra PCs and Tab-Book, the company said. I tough that i post this news item, because my dad is going to buy this after this is released. 8. G.Skill Unveiling DDR4 Memory While we have limited details regarding DDR4 memory at the moment, we do know that DDR4 Memory will be featuring have much lower power consumption over the previous design with rated voltages of 1.2 – 1.1 Volt. At the same time while aiming for lower power consumption, DDR4 memory would push the frequencies past the barrier with speeds of 4266 MHz and possibly even more knowing that current DDR3 DIMMs do around 3000 MHz. The early samples of DDR4 memory would end up around 3200 – 3466 MHz and would gradually increase over the time as more products start supporting the new memory type which include Haswell-E plus Skylake from Intel and Carrizo APU from AMD. G.Skill would unveil their plans for their next Trident DDR4 series and more at the event G.SKILL G.SKILL International Co. Ltd., the leading high-performance memory designer and manufacturer, announced to participate this year’s Intel Developer Forum at San Francisco as part of Intel’s memory community at booth no. 165, displaying maximum DDR3 memory frequency & capacity on the new Intel Core i7 processor family for socket LGA-2011 platform, also sharing plans for future technology such as DDR4. “As this is our first time attending IDF, we are very excited to show our high performance quad channel DDR3 memory and also announce our plans for DDR4,” said Mark Yu, Technical Marketing at G.SKILL. 9. Samsung Executive Confirms Galaxy Gear Smart Watch – Releasing Next Week The highly anticipated wearable hi-tech gadget has finally got some official approval – Samsung’s top mobile executive has slipped out the news about Korean company launching its Galaxy Gear smart watch. Lee Young-Hee, the Vice President of Samsung’s mobile division, confirmed the introduction of Samsung’s first ever smart watch next week in September. She was giving an interview to local press when she talked about the Galaxy Gear smart watch and the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Both these devices are set to be launched at the Samsung Unpacked 2013 next week! Samsung’s third gen Galaxy Note 3 has been dominating the media share because of the huge expectations it has managed to get: the 5.6-inch giant phablet sporting 13 megapixel rear camera and more! But seems like Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch would snatch much of that lime light being the first for many to come in wearable technology. Young-Hee did not share any details about any of these two products except breaking a rumor false. You can read about the expected features of the Galaxy Gear on our Releasing in September, Galaxy Gear Samsung Smart Watch Specs post. Vice President commented that the wearable smart watch would NOT be sporting a flexible display as was being previously reported by many sources. She did not share any other technical specification of the Galaxy Gear but did confirm that the smart watch will be built around a modified version of the Android OS. Our sources also suggested that Galaxy Gear would be having its own app distribution suite instead of Google’s Play Store. Critics and analysts reckon that Galaxy Gear is highly likely to compliment Samsung’s current and upcoming range of smart phones, powered with Android and perhaps carrying similar features. Up against the Korean company is the Cupertino based Apple having their own smart watch technology – with a handful of patents already acquired – in the pipeline. All eyes on the Samsung’s event next week to start the smart-wear war! Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch to feature 2.5" OLED screen While the world waits for Samsung to present its first smartwatch in the lead up to IFA on September 4, the tech world is abuzz with rumors on the features of the device bloggers are calling the "Galaxy Gear," pending Samsung's announcement of the official name. According to GigaOM, the watch feature a 2.5" OLED screen and run under Android 4.1. Citing "sources close to Samsung," the American tech website reports that the Galaxy Gear will sport a square 2.5" OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 320x320 pixels. Other features predicted include an integrated NFC chip, a camera and integrated speakers. The smartwatch is said to include a dual-core Exynos processor clocking out at 1.5GHz, allowing it to run under the Android 4.1 platform. A Bluetooth connection will reportedly allow the device to connect to other Samsung terminals. The site also reports that the smartwatch has already been sent to certain developers. The South Korean electronics giant could officially kick off the smartwatch battle with the presentation of the Galaxy Gear, as the concept has piqued the interest of other industry leaders, including Apple and Qualcomm. Smartwatches are seen as a relatively affordable and easy-to-wear form of wearable technology, making them a viable alternative to Google's ambitious Glass project. For the time being, Sony is the only major electronics brand with a smart, connected watch on the market, after launching its SmartWatch in 2012. My opinion is that 1.5Ghz processor is going to burn our hands! Also topic about this watch is posted before, but this topic is about OLED display so this is not a repost. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/50800-samsung-smartwatch/ Source: http://www.techhive.com/article/2047533/galaxy-note-iii-and-galaxy-gear-smartwatch-a-lock-for-sept-4-samsung-exec-says.html http://www.hindustantimes.com/technology/PersonalTech-Updates/Samsung-Galaxy-Gear-smartwatch-to-feature-2-5-OLED-screen/SP-Article1-1111231.aspx http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/08/27/samsung-executive-confirms-galaxy-gear-smartwatch-and-galaxy-note-iii-for-unpacked-event-on-september-4th/
  10. Intel Previews SSD Overclocking Performance at PAX Prime Intel is going to announce and discuss details regarding their new Bay Trail Atom Z3000 series and Ivy Bridge-E HEDT platform at IDF13 San Francisco. Aside from these, Intel is also going to discuss their new developments for PC enthusiasts which includes topics like SSD Overclocking which we just came to know a few weeks back. Intel Previews SSD Overclocking Performance at PAX PrimeWe know that the SSD Overclocking would be possible not only on Ivy Bridge-E but all other desktop platforms from Intel through their Intel XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility) which has become a necessary tool for PC enthusiasts and overclockers. At PAX Prime, Intel was showcasing their new SSD Overclocking tool and thanks to Legitreviews, we have more details regarding the configuration and performance of SSD overclocking. The SSD previewed for overclocking at PAX Prime had the SSDSC2BB480G4 : BTWL3070050Z480QGN part number which corresponds to the high-end enterprise Intel SSD DC S3500 Series 480GB w/ 20nm MLC NAND Flash with some custom modifications by Intel. The drive capacity won’t be restricted to 480 GB as Legitreviews mentions that Intel is possibly preparing a new set of ‘K’ series SSDs which would be available in various capacity. The ‘K’ branding is known commonly for Intel’s Core series processors featuring an unlocked processor offering overclocking support. There are several options and configurations which are going to be available with the updated Intel XTU allowing users to manually overclock their SSDs for faster speeds. Users would be able to adjust the frequency of the SSD controller in MHz and would also be able to set the power modes of the SSD ranging from ‘limited’, ‘typical’ or ‘unconstrained’. Last of all there would be a option to set the bus frequency of the NAND Flash memory to 83 MHz or 100 MHz. The description of each feature that would be released with the Intel XTU SSD overclocking tool are listed below: -Controller Frequency - ‘Sets the frequency of the specified Intel SSDs on-drive micro-controller’ -Power Mode - ’Sets the power limits for the specified Intel SSD’ (Limited/Typical/Unconstrained) -NAND Frequency - ‘Sets the NAND bus frequency for the specified Intel SSD’ The Intel XTU which would exclusively feature support for SSD overclocking currently comes with two options. One is to adjust NAND frequency from its default 83 MHz to 100 MHz frequency while the other options allows adjusting the controller frequency from the default 400 MHz to 625 MHz. SSD at Default Settings (83 MHz/ 400 MHz): SSD at OC Settings (83 MHz/ 625 MHz): As you can note, the overall performance and speed have definitely gone up by a good gain but at the end of the day, its upto consumers or should i say the enthusiasts to decide what they care about the most? Intel also asked users at the PAX Prime to take a little survey which asked them if they prefer SSD Life, Data protection or SSD speed. For overclockers, i personally don’t think data matters most and it would become a hobby for overclockers to overclock SSDs as CPU and GPU overclocking. The more options for users, the better but it remains to be seen what kind of price would Intel want for their new SSDs. Intel k series might be coming sooner than expected! Anticipating it will make a big splash, Intel is planning to release an product late this year or very early next that will allow users to overclock solid-state drives. The overclocking capability is expected to allow users to tweak the percentage of an SSD's capacity that's used for data compression. At its Intel Developers Forum next month in San Francisco, Intel has scheduled an information session on overclocking SSDs. The IDF session is aimed at system manufacturers and developers as well as do-it-yourself enthusiasts, such as gamers. Interesting, but we will have to see how much performance and capacity it have over existing solutions Source: http://www.guru3d.com/news_story/overclock_your_ssd_intel_makes_a_promise.html http://wccftech.com/intel-previews-ssd-overclocking-performance-pax-prime-k-series-ssd-lineup-works/ http://www.legitreviews.com/intel-shows-pax-attendees-ssd-overclocking_122557
  11. AMD Kaveri APU Arriving For Desktop PCs in Q4 2013 AMD recently had a press conference where they detailed their next generation Steamroller, Jaguar + and ARM based embedded devices. Aside from the embedded products, AMD did a small Q/A session with tech journalists where Computerbase got to ask some questions regarding any possible delays for the Kaveri APU platform. AMD replied that Kaveri APU is headed to desktop PCs in 2013 while notebooks based on the Kaveri APU would launch around spring 2014. The Kaveri mobility APUs would be showcased during the CES 2014 event in January but the actual products would launch in late Q1 2014 or early Q2 2014. Kaveri APU Equips 28nm Steamroller Core The biggest architectural change Kaveri APU features is the use of the latest 28nm Steamroller architecture that is a true multi-threaded architecture focusing on enhancing the IPC (Instruction-Per-Cycle) by upto 25%. In each module, two separate threads are provided with their own parallel instruction decoder, due to enhancements, the steamroller die would be larger than Bulldozer and Piledriver with each module housing two steamroller cores with a shared L2 cache. You can see the block diagram for the differences between the Bulldozer and Steamroller architecture below: One thing to note is that the Kaveri APU architecture is not only built around the 28nm Steamroller architecture but also features the 28nm GCN graphics module. Llano APUs featured the VLIW5 architecture while Trinity and Richland used the updated VLIW4 architecture but still older compared to the discrete GPU offerings. Kaveri APU on the other hand makes use of the Radeon GCN (Graphics Core Next 2.0) architecture. The 2.0 represents an enhanced and efficient design that aims to improve graphical performance while keeping the power consumption under limits. AMD GCN Architecture Powers Kaveri Integrated GPU On the GPU side, Kaveri APU would make use of upto 512 stream processors or (MADs) which amount to 8 compute units. It is mentioned that the number of stream processors would range from 384 SPs to 512 SPs though it could feature even a higher number such as 768 SPs. The AMD Radeon HD 7750 features 512 SPs while the upcoming Radeon HD 7730 would feature 384 SPs so we are pretty much looking at performance levels of a discrete entry level GPU here which would be fantastic for a integrated graphics module. The total performance on the compute end would fall above the 1 TFLOPs limit amounting the GPU and FPU performance for the CPU core. Though, we are skeptical if we will see a higher number of stream processor count in AMD Kaveri APU architecture since the memory type is still limited to DDR3 as seen through the FM2+ motherboard showcased at Computex 2013. DDR3 memory bandwidth could become a slight bit of an issue for an integrated graphics with higher stream processor count but AMD might have an answer to solve this. HUMA and HSA enhancements would allow the GPU and CPU to dynamically share the same virtual memory address but we don’t know if that would help solve the bandwidth issues.Nevertheless, the GCN part on the Kaveri APU sound great since it would atleast allow budget gamers to play the latest titles without spending much on a discrete GPU. A major feature to be implemented in the Kaveri APUs is the HUMA memory architecture which is part of HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture) which would allow PCs to make use of a unified memory architecture which would allow cross sharing of system ram between the GPU and CPU. This would enhance the way PCs access and communicate with their memory. AMD Kaveri APU – FM2+, A88X/A78X Chipset, Backwards Compatibility With Trinity/Richland AMD Kaveri APU platform would launch with the AMD A88X “Bolton D4″ and A87X chipsets on the socket FM2+ motherboards. The socket FM2+ would be backwards compatible with both Richland and Trinity APUs which is a plus point but Kaveri won’t operate on the FM2 motherboards due to different pin layout. Kaveri would launch in Dual and Quad core steamroller SKUs with GCN enabled integrated graphics processors. Desktop models would range between 100 and 65W TDPs while mobility models would have 35W TDP and even lower for specific APUs, Kaveri would also arrive in the server market as the Berlin platform. Expect more details in the upcoming months, launch takes place in Q4 2013. 12. The long wait is over, Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch – one of the most awaited watches of all time has finally been unveiled at the IFA 2013, Berlin. Shooting all rumors to rest, this is what the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch Actually is. Introducing Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch – the Perfect Companion for your Note 3 The Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch is a nice watch-looking smart device. The screen does NOT look flexible, however the aesthetics are pretty nice. It actually does look and feel like a watch we had some doubts about. The Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch looks remarkable. First of all since the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch requires the use of a Samsung Smart Phone anyways, it is kind of redundant for it to have anything more then the core essential features. We can see that in the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch this is not the case. Its a watch, albeit a smart one. It does not make sense for it to have anything more then Feeds (Email, Twitter, FB) a Music Player, Time and One or Two more apps. And from what we can see the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch will be exactly that a smart watch. We were worried that the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch has some aesthetic problems. We really prefer the box structure to the rectangle structure of the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch that was revealed before. A Smart Watch should feel like a watch and not a small phone tied to your wrist. The point is to make us feel as we are not on leash from our electronics. It looks pretty amazing. It will ship sometime in October. Specs CPU: "800 MHz processor" Display: 1.63 inch (41.4mm) Super AMOLED (320 x 320) Camera: 1.9 Megapixel BSI Sensor, Auto Focus Camera / Sound & Shot Memory: 4GB Internal memory + 512 MB (RAM) Dimensions: 36.8 x 56.6 x 11.1 mm, 73.8g Battery: Standard battery, Li-ion 315mAh Announcement The galaxy gear had been highly anticipated since the firm is currently the world's bestselling smartphone maker and has beaten Microsoft, Apple and Google to unveil such a device. Samsung called it a "fashion icon". However, analysts warned that a decision to limit the watch to working as an accessory to other Galaxy Android devices might limit its appeal. Samsung has previously said growth in the sales of its handsets was slowing, so investors are eager to see if it can find another successful product. It unveiled the the watch - which will go on sale from 25 September - at the Ifa consumer tech show in Berlin. "The introduction of the Galaxy smartwatch comes as no surprise to the industry, which has been expecting Samsung to beat the likes of Apple - as well as watch makers and other consumer electronics companies - to market," said Chris Green, principal technology analyst at the consultancy Davies Murphy Group. The Galaxy Gear is being made available with a range of colourful watch straps "Consumers might be a bit disappointed to find that the smartwatch is a partner device reliant on being paired with a Samsung Android smartphone or tablet, rather than being the completely autonomous device media and communications device many consumers were expecting and hoping for." The South Korean firm's approach contrasts with that of Sony whose forthcoming Smartwatch 2 can be paired with any device running Android 4.0 or higher. But one industry watcher said Samsung's decision should not be a surprise. "Samsung is trying to build its own ecosystem, so why do something that brings value to somebody else?" asked Carolina Milanesi, an analyst at tech advisors Gartner. "Although the price of the Galaxy watch is high there's not going to be great margins as there's lots of technology going into it. The Galaxy watch will cost about $300 (£192) making it more expensive than Sony's device which costs £120. Start-up Omate is planning to release a watch in October that matches Samsung's in price, but its device is set to feature a 3G chip meaning it can make calls and work as a standalone device. Unknown demandThe Galaxy Gear features a 1.6in (4cm) LED display, a 1.9 megapixel camera, a speaker and microphone, has four gigabytes of internal storage and a non-removable battery. Sony's Smartwatch 2 is compatible with more makes of Android phone Samsung said the watch could be used as a way to make voice calls without having to take the phone it was linked to out of the owner's bag or pocket. It comes preloaded with 10 different clock options and there will be about 70 apps available at launch including Evernote's note-taking software, auction service eBay, the social network Path and several fitness programs. Gartner has predicted the global wearable computing market - which includes eyewear such as Google Glass and activity tracker armbands - could be worth as much as $10bn (£6.5bn) by 2016. Tech consultancy Canalys has forecast as many as five million smartwatches could be sold in 2014. But in truth no-one is sure how great consumer interest will be. A new survey of more than 1,500 smartphone owners in the US and UK commissioned by telecoms consultancy CCS Insight might temper expectations. It found 65% of the respondents had heard of smartwatches and over 50% knew about wearable fitness trackers. However, of those who already owned a smartwatch or fitness band, over 40% had stopped using it because they often forgot to put it on or had become bored of the idea. Samsung suggests the watch can be used as an alternative to a Bluetooth headset to make calls "Samsung has a history of latching onto the latest trends and throwing a product into the market to try and get ahead of potential rivals," said CCS Insight's Ben Wood. "Galaxy Gear is the first attempt but I expect that there will need to be several more iterations before it is something that will will appeal to anyone other than an affluent geek." Unappealing 'anachronism'Ms Milanesi agreed that neither Samsung nor Sony's watches were likely to be the breakthrough product that makes smartwatches a mainstream product. "Once you get a curved display you'll see more interesting designs, but for the moment you are basically just putting a glass screen on a wrist and I don't think that will appeal to many," she said. "Samsung is also claiming a day's battery life with fair usage... it's like going back to a time you had to wind your watch up every night before going to bed. "I don't think consumers want to do that with a watch or a band. They want to have it on without having to worry about charging it every day." Research firm Forrester was equally sceptical. "The wrist is the one of the most accepted places on the body for consumers to wear a sensor device," said analyst Sarah Rotman Epps. "[but] there are very few functions you could perform better on a watch than on a phone. "Maybe Samsung will tap into unmet demand with this product, disproving naysayers as it did with the Galaxy Note phone which succeeded after many 5in competitors failed. "But my bet is that smartwatches are sci-fi inventions that are already anachronisms in this modern world." Samsung launched its Galaxy Gear smartwatch today. 13. AMD Radeon R9 290X will Feature New CrossFireX Technology AMD and nvidia have been using SLI and CrossFire bridges with their GPUs since a while to enable up to multi-GPU setups, AMD seems to return to a bridge-less for multi-GPU functionality with their latest R9 290X GPU's. A few days prior to the GPU ’14 event, pictures of the R9 290X leaked on the internet showcasing two standard CrossFireX gold fingers but to our knowledge, that was an Engineering Sample. When AMD officially introduced the card at the event, we were quite stunned to notice the missing CrossFire ports but it was a hint at the new CrossFireX technology. The Sideport technology was meant to debut originally with the ATi Radeon 4870 X2 but was never actually unveiled. The CrossFireX technology introduced with the Radeon R9 290X is similar to Sideport which would the GPUs to communicate over through the PCI-Express bus rather than an external connector. Previously, NVIDIA and AMD made a move to bridged connections to reduce the bandwdith issues faced on the first generation PCI-e slots but the PCI-e 3.0 bus available today has enough bandwidth to once again enable the use of sideport. PCI-e 2.0 can be use as well, but there will be little performance lose, i personally love this idea, because crossfire bridges look awesome. Vitalius made me to understand that. AMD mentions that the new CrossFire technology for AMD Radeon R9 290X is designed to for Eyefinity and 4K resolution setups. The new technology, as mentioned before allows for direct access between GPU display pipelines over PCI-Express since no external connectors are required this technology is fully compatible with AMD’s Catalyst frame pacing technologies which help reduce frame pacing issues faced with Multi-GPU setups which have been a massive problem with the last gen. Radeon GPU's. However, its not certain whether only PCI-e 3.0 has the bandwidth to fully support the new CrossFireX tech used on AMD Radeon R9 290X since motherboards come with one or two x16 PCI-e 3.0 slots while the rest are usually x8 and x4. So a motherboard update would be essential when using up to four of the Hawaii GPUs. By 2015, motherboard makers would ship the first PCI-e 4.0 products but that’s still a year away from the launch of the Hawaii GPUs so we hope AMD would address this. The NDA for the Radeon R9 290X specifications officially ends at October 15th and that’s basically when the card would either hit retail or final specifications and the the card would be revealed. 14. Fastest GPU On the Planet With 1020 MHz Clock Speed The Hawaii R9-290X GPU will be launched on this Wednesday in Hawaii. We have heard some details about the Hawaii R9-290X GPU that it will feature a die size larger than Tahiti still 30% smaller than NVIDIA’s GK110 core. It will be based on a 28nm process and would be in stores mid-October 2013. Now we officially know more than that, the R9-290X features a massive die size and a 4 GB memory running across a 512-bit interface. The core clock for the graphics card at default is maintained at 1020 MHz while the memory operates at 1250 MHz. While we would get 4 GB in the reference models, the leaker has also said that we will see 6 GB custom models soon after launch. The R9-290X is powered by 8-Pin plus 6-Pin connector configurations which denotes a 300W TDP design. The VRM features 5+1 phase design (5 Phase Core and 1 Phase memory). The card has two DVI, HDMI and a display port to provide display output. Rumor price is 599USD which is 443€ Graphs from WCCFtech: These leaked pictures were found by TopWargamer: More info about R9-290x https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/58503-amd-r9-980x-also-pictured/ https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/57234-all-volcanic-island-gpus-except-hawaii-feature-refreshed-hd-7000-cores/ https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/57596-amd-r9-290x-possibly-detailed/ Source: http://www.chiphell.com/thread-862351-1-1.html http://wccftech.com/amd-hawaii-r9290x-gpu-volcanic-islands-benchmark-results-exposed-fastest-gpu-planet-1020-mhz-clock-speed/
  15. As we all know Radeon 9970 (R9-970) is going to be announced 25.9.2013, and price is under 600€ If someone was thinking that why it is named "volcanic islands" well here is the reason: 9970 is having 300w TDP and because of 28nm transistors 9970 is going to have huge die size. Huge TDP means that it is doing to draw lots of power, output lots of heat and run very hot. (The thermal design power (TDP), sometimes called thermal design point, represents the maximum amount of power the cooling system in a computer is required to dissipate). So as assumed that card cant run cool, so prepare your waterblocks! This might be refrence cooler: So it is going to be about 5% faster than 780, in 3Dmark we see that GTX titan scored 4600 points and 9970 scored 4816 points. Its no doubt that the Hawaii GPU would tackle the one and only GK110 core from NVIDIA. GK110 stands strong against its competitors from AMD in the HD 7000 series. Both the GeForce GTX Titan and GeForce GTX 780 do well in performance although they do cost alot too. The end point would be what GPU offers more value to consumers. If AMD is going all out to tackle the GK110 with their Hawaii GPU, then they also have to keep the prices under control, and price estimate for 9970 is 600€. The performance looks much more impressive when comparing generation vs generation (Southern Islands vs Volcanic Islands). The Radeon HD 7970 scores 3300-3500 points in the same benchmark so this is a major increase in performance on AMD’s end. But it could also stir up some questions, if the chip is going to perform with such tendency, would the cost of the graphics card end up higher around the GTX 780 levels or lower. Price wars between both rivalries always benefits the consumer. But we have seen what NVIDIA did with their current generation of graphic cards. The GeForce GTX Titan sits at its $1000 premium price range knowing the fact no card from AMD can compete against it. AMD can do the same with their card, keeping its price adjusted at a concrete spot for months until NVIDIA comes out with something new, Maxwell. 16. Legitimate Buyers of GTA V on Xbox 360 Banned After Amazons Early Shipment As you may already know there had been a massive early shipment from Amazon UK of GTA V. The PreOrder copies of GTA V made it to the doorsteps of some lucky people when Amazon UK broke the embargo of 17th September and shipped it early. The matter is currently being investigated by Rockstar. However the ones that did receive Legit copies of GTA V early due to the Amazon Mishap might not be very lucky after all. The problem is simple, Microsoft has been banning people over on Xbox Live who posted any video or picture related to GTA V (ingame of course) before the release date (17th September). This action is being taken by Microsoft to ban any obvious Pirated GTA V Users and it was all in a days work until Amazon screwed up shipped GTA V Legitimate copies before the Release Date. After which we started receiving reports that people who had legally bought GTA V and got it from Amazon ‘s early ship are getting banned. The reason? they posted some innocent Video or Picture of ingame GTA V and got tagged as Pirates. Pretty sad seeing that they didn’t actually do anything wrong and payed the price. DO Not Share Any Video or Photo – Infact We would urge you not to play the game till after the 17th (Xbox 360 Users Only) However as far as we can tell there have been no repercussions from the Sony or Playstation on using the early copies. So if you received an early copy of GTA V on the PS3 you are probably safe enough. It would have been interesting to see Microsofts response had there been more time. Quite an interesting conundrum it would have been for the Xbox Live people – Ban the Early Users and risk banning Legit users OR let the Early Users live and let crime pay. Grand Theft Auto V will launch on Xbox 360 and PS3 tomorrow. Someone at Amazon UK made a mistake send these games out one day too early. It is not known that how many gamers managed to get this game too early, but Rockstar has confirmed it’s investigating how and why those deliveries occurred. Microsoft reportedly began banning Xbox Live accounts of people it could identify. Typically, having your system banned from Xbox Live means you’ll have to buy another one to access the console’s online component again. That certainly seems like a harsh penalty for legitimate paying customers who just happened to receive their copy one day in advance due to a shipping error. In fairness, though, pirated copies of the game were in the wild days earlier so it's unclear if Microsoft specifically targeted those. In other GTA V news, calls for a PC version of the game might be answered in the not-too-distant future, as code from a configuration file posted on Pastebin and allegedly coming from a pirated Xbox 360 version of the game points towards PC and PS4 releases. We can’t vouch for the leak’s legitimacy but it seems to have been validated by a legal request sent to Cinema Blend asking them to remove links to the XML. Grand Theft Auto V is expected to smash sales records for the current generation of consoles, with some analysts predicting it could push up to 20 million copies by March of next year. Some have estimated the game's development and marketing budget at $260 million or more. GTA V is gonna sell $1 billion in retail sales in its first month alone. 17. AMD is going to present their next generation GPU's in Hawaii on 25th September at the AMD GPU ’14 Tech Day event. We have a few details regarding the new Hawaii GPU,but the key specifications remain unknown. Specifications of AMD R9-290X All exept GPU core itself 3DCenter has built up two assumptions regarding the Hawaii GPU, in the first case scenario the Hawaii GPU would end up with 44 Compute Units which would amount to 2816 stream processors , 176 TMUs, 32-48 ROPs while in the second scenario which seems much more possible, the Hawaii GPU would feature 40 Compute Units which would amount to 2560 stream processors, 160 TMUs, 32-48 ROPs. The second scenario seems more realistic based on the data acquired over the past few months but its never bad to have more. In either case, the Hawaii GPU would feature a 384-bit memory buffer with possibly 3-6 GB of memory. The memory would feature a clock speed of 3500 MHz while the core would be clocked a little lower than the 1 GHz mark. You can check out detailed specifications in the chart below: Remember, we cant be sure about anything, before AMD confirms this! AMD hasn’t released their previously showcased Ruby tech demo although it was announced a while back. Ruby is a key icon for the AMD Radeon graphics department and AMD want’s to mark her return in style. For this purpose, AMD would be showcasing a live technical demonstration of their nextgen Ruby powered by CryEngine 3 during the Hawaii GPU announcement. Ofcourse, the card would be running the demo which is a similar approach to what NVIDIA has been doing over the recent years showcasing their GeForce products capabilities with Epic games Unreal Engine. Do note that the final specifications may be different since this is just a technical analysis of an upcoming product. We will be keeping a look out for more reliable and credible information regarding the AMD Volcanic Islands GPU family and the Hawaii chip. 18. AMD Volcanic Islands R-200 Family Final Codenames Revealed Hawaii chip would feature a die 30% smaller than the NVIDIA’s behemoth GK110 core and would be based on the 28nm process. We are stacking up the information regarding AMD Volcanic Islands family bit by bit but the one that doesn’t made any sense till now is the new R-200 naming scheme. HIS leaked the codenames on their web portal a few days ago and the page has been down since that leak but it didn’t stop people from acquitting more information. More info about leak can be found here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/55994-amd-9xxx-series-naming-confirmed/ Naming Both Planet3DNow and VR-Zone managed to slip across information for an AMD board partner who seems to clear the confusion built up around the codenames. First we have to take out the Dual-GPU from the equation, its too early to speculate about such a product since AMD just introduced their Radeon HD 7990 this year. The Dual GPU may have a Tonga or Vesuvius codename but it isn’t going to happen this early. As for the other codenames, the previous rumor about all GPUs except Hawaii featuring a refreshed Southern Islands core seems to be true. This may be one of the reasons why we were looking at largely similar specs of the R9-280X GPU leaked by HIS compared to the Radeon HD 7970. The cores fused on the GPUs would be the same but would feature a new codename. Hawaii GPU will feature 28nm core, 30% smaller die than GK110 Matt Skynner (AMD’s Vice President) have confirmed that Hawaii GPU would be atleast 30% smaller than the NVIDIA’s GK110 core. Hawaii will be based on a 28nm process and they will not be moving to a 20nm design process. Matt says: "No reason was foretold but its easy to point out the cost of production that goes into acquiring 20nm wafers that is not yet feasible and the fact that 20nm volume production doesn’t begins until Q1 2014". Hawaii GPU would have a die size measuring around 420-430mm2 while NVIDIA’s Titan and GTX 780′s GK110 core measures at 561mm2. This is after a long time that AMD would be featuring a gigantic chip on their video cards. It remains to be seen what kind of performance and efficiency would the new chip deliver since NVIDIA Kepler. Kepler as a whole has delivered amazing power efficiency while AMD focused on raw performance. Price New AMD Hawaii GPU based video card will not cost $999 like Titan, but would be priced a bit lower than their Radeon HD 7990 solution that currently costs $699 US Dollars. We can speculate a price point that is very close and possibly lower than the GeForce GTX 780′s $649 price. AMD Hawaii GPU will cost more than the Radeon HD 7970′s price of $549 at launch in January 2012. AMD to live webcast volcanic Islands at GPU’14 conference A real-time video webcast of the showcase can be accessed on the Investor Relations home page: ir.amd.com. A replay of the webcast can be accessed approximately one hour after the conclusion of the live event and will be available for 30 days after the event. 19. GeForce 800 series “Maxwell” in Q1 2014 NVIDIA will launch next series sooner than expected. NVIDIA will release Maxwell series in early 2014. It is expected that GeForce 800 series will arrive in the first quarter of 2014, somewhere between February and March. What it basically means is that the chances for 20nm process are low. Of course NVIDIA could already have first 20nm samples sooner than that, but TSMC will not be ready for mass production till June 2014. Maxwell GPUs will not be made in 20nm fabrication process, but if they are expect huge graphics cards shortage and more paper-launches. NVIDIA GeForce Kepler Lineup To Be Expanded in 2H 2013 Videocardz.com have some exclusive details regarding NVIDIA’s plans to expand their GeForce Kepler lineup going in 2H of 2013. For some time it was known that NVIDIA won’t release any new graphics card after the launch of their GeForce GTX 760 graphics card but turns out to be NVIDIA was just preparing for something better. While there’s limited information regarding what new GeForce Kepler cards would be introduced but this could be NVIDIA’s response to the upcoming Hawaii GPU from AMD. According to Videocardz, the upcoming GeForce Kepler based graphic cards would be based on the GK104, GK106 and GK208 architectures which probably mean more entry to mid-range cards. These are probably going to turn up as the GeForce GTX 750Ti, GTX 750, and the various other boost cards we got to see with the GeForce Kepler 600 series lineup. But NVIDIA possibly has a well kept secret which they may be aiming to launch after AMD unleashes the Hawaii GPU. The card itself could be the final GPU of the GeForce Kepler lineup and one that ends up as the most fastest of all. A new High-End model based on the GK110 core seems to be in plans by NVIDIA which could be used as a deterrent against AMD’s Hawaii GPU which is supposedly a “Titan Killer”. This new card could be a single chip ultimate GK110 chip featuring the fully enabled 15 SMX GeForce Kepler core and a 12 GB GDDR5 memory as featured on the Quadro K6000 which is currently the worlds fastest professional graphics card. Or it could be a dual graphics solution called “GeForce GTX 790″ based on two weaker GK110 cores but with a handsome amount of power over the GeForce GTX 690. At the end what NVIDIA plans to choose would almost certainly be unveiled in Fall 2013 provided that the report is true. GeForce GTX 790 or TITAN Ultra in few months? However this is not all. NVIDIA is also working on a new high-end model. At this point I don’t know if this is the so-called TITAN ULTRA with fully enabled GK110 GPU or, more likely, GeForce GTX 790 with two GK110s. Assuming that the full GK110 processor is somewhat dedicated to the professional segment, and NVIDIA made dual-gpu cards a standard, I think that it is GTX 790. You are probably wondering how much would it cost. I’m more than sure that $1000 range won’t be exceeded. This card is made as a response to AMD Hawaii cards which will arrive in two months. Then NVIDIA will most likely (slightly) lower their prices on GK110 graphics cards. Nvidia's Maxwell GPU architecture will access system RAMNvidia said at its GPU Technology Conference (GTC) today that its upcoming Maxwell GPU architecture will be able to access main memory. Nvidia's GPUs have traditionally been limited to only being able to access memory on the card, though Kepler can access other GPUs through the firm's GPU Direct technology. However the firm's next generation Maxwell GPU architecture will allow the GPU to access main memory, reminiscent of AMD's unified memory architecture. Nvidia co-founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang said Maxwell, which will replace the present Kepler architecture, will be the firm's first GPU architecture that is able to access main memory. Although Nvidia's Kepler architecture can address terabytes of memory, the cost and memory density limitations of GDDR have meant that its Tesla boards are limited to 8GB of memory. While the firm's GPU Direct allows Kepler based Tesla boards to access memory on other Kepler boards, its bandwidth is limited by the network connection, which typically tops out at 40Gbit/s, while DDR3-1600 bandwidth is 12.8GB/s - or about 100Gbit/s - and avoids the network latency. AMD has been pushing the ability of GPUs to address system memory as part of its unified memory addressing technology that will be a key part of its Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA). The firm is expected to produce its first HSA enabled APU later this year and the technology has been incorporated in the APU that Sony uses for the Playstation 4. NVIDIA GeForce and Ubisoft Form Alliance For Next Generation AAA Titles Like AMD who would offer exclusive optimization for EA titles including the blockbuster Battlefield 4, NVIDIA would offer exclusive features, bundles and optimizations for their NVIDIA GeForce graphics card with latest titles from Ubisoft offering more realism and immersive experiences to PC gamers. Features like smooth and fluid animations, soft shadows, HBAO+ (horizon-based ambient occlusion) and advanced DX11 tessellation would be implemented in the upcoming titles from Ubisoft offering the best possible gameplay experience on the PC as a platform. “PC gaming is stronger than ever and Ubisoft understands that PC gamers demand a truly elite experience — the best resolutions, the smoothest frame rates and the latest gaming breakthroughs,” said Tony Tamasi, senior vice president of Content and Technology at NVIDIA. “We’ve worked closely with Ubisoft’s incredibly talented creative team throughout the development process to incorporate our technologies and deliver the most immersive and visually spectacular game worlds imaginable.” NVIDIA Because of this, i wont buy 9970, now i am waiting for 880 I think that nvidia is going to release something at 5 November, because that was day when James Clerk Maxwell died. 20. Pre-order prices of Intel Ivy Bridge-E CPUs Intel Ivy Bridge-E Pre Order Pricing has been revealed. They range from a a Pre-Order Price of 342 US Dollars to 1140 US Dollars. This is slightly more then the predicted prices leaked previously this year. The difference is as much as 150 US Dollars. Though seeing these are Pre-Order Pricing it is very likely that prices will fall dramatically in the time to come. Next wave of Intel Extreme processors, this time based on Ivy Bridge-E architecture, is coming in September. Numerous reports and leaks indicated that Intel is going to release three models, with the Core i7-4960X being the fastest. The six-core 4960X runs at 100 MHz higher frequency than the Core i7-3970X, on top of that it has better microarchitecture and lower power consumption. Two other extreme CPUs, quad-core Core i7-4820K and six-core Core i7-4930K, are also expected to be faster than the i7-3820 and i7-3930K due to higher operating frequency and Ivy Bridge-E enhancements. The specs and launch date of these products were known for a while, and now we are starting to see some hints on their pricing. Earlier this week Chinese edition of VR-Zone published prices of all three models. If we ignore obvious inaccuracies in the specs section of their slide and assume that their prices are correct, then the Core i7-4820K will cost on a par with the i7-3820, while six-core chips will be less expensive than last year's SKUs. That is, Intel i7-4930K will be about $40 cheaper than the 3930K, and the i7-4960X will be $70 cheaper than the i7-3970X. Unfortunately, these are regional suggested retail prices, and we are not sure whether they will apply to US and European markets or not. However, we found three i7-4xxx extreme processors Release: Around 11th September ASUS X79 Deluxe High-End Motherboard For Ivy Bridge-E Processors Unveiled The latest and upcoming X79 Deluxe motherboard from ASUS has been unveiled, featuring improved components and support for the upcoming Ivy Bridge-E processors. While Ivy Bridge-E is supported and backwards compatible with the LGA 2011 socketed motherboards that released with Sandy Bridge-E processors, users are still required to update their BIOS to add support. But backwards compatibility doesn’t means that manufacturer’s won’t release new motherboards at all. We have already seen EVGA’s X79 Dark motherboard and now ASUS’s X79 Deluxe which is a update over the P9X79 Deluxe that launched last year. The ASUS X79 Deluxe motherboard features a gold and black color theme that is similar to ASUS’s Z87 Legacy lineup, infact ASUS’s Z87 Legacy lineup was the first to adopt the new color theme marking as an end to their Blue and Black design. Ivy Bridge-E featuring some new updates such as adoption of PCI-e 3.0, native SATA 6 GBps and the new SSD OC tools would provide overclocking with some good set of benefits of the new platform. The ASUS Z87 Deluxe has 8 DDR3 DIMM slots featuring Quad Channel memory support of 128 GB capacity at rated speeds of 1866 MHz and 2400 MHz O.C+. The LGA 2011 socket would be able to support both Ivy Bridge-E and Sandy Bridge-E processors while a strong DIGI+ VRM with the latest Dual Intelligent Processors 4 design would offer overclockers amazing overclock potential. Power would be provided through a single 8-Pin connector along with the 24-Pin ATX power connector. The VRM and PCH are situated beneath two seperate heatsink sections interconnected with heatpipe offering passive cooling. For storage, the motherboard offers upto 12 SATA 6 GB/s ports with SSD Caching feature on the go, improving loading performance and faster access times with users running SSDs. Expansion slots include four PCI-e 3.0 x16 and two PCI-e 3.0 x1 ports, The PCI-e x16 ports offer both SLI and CrossFireX functionalties. ASUS also delivers with the board their ASUS Wi-FI Go, USB BIOS Flashback, USB 3.0 Boost, Gigabit Ethernet LAN and few overclock switches. There are no words on prices but more details are expected around 11th September when Ivy Bridge-E officially launches worldwide. 21. Zotac GTX 780 AMP! Edition is the first Factory Overclocked GTX 780 over the GHZ Mark. Needless to say this is one hell of a card. Zotac has been teasing this card for quite a while and now the official announcement is here, although they have yet to reveal the pricing. Zotac GTX 780 AMP! Edition Specifications show a boost of 16% over stock 780 The Zotac GTX 780 AMP! Will offer a decent 116% power of the stock GTX 780, all the while remaining 10 degrees cooler then the same. The sound output Is also quite low (only 15dba) thanks to the high performance triple-cooler the Zotac GTX 780 AMP! Edition boasts. The Specs and Pictures of the Retail box has been leaked via ChinaDiY. Specs of the Zotac GTX 780 AMP! Edition : Core Clock: 1006 MHZ Boost Clock: 1059 MHZ Memory: 3GB GDDR5 @ 384 Bit Memory Clock: 6208 MHZ Thoughts on the Zotac GTX 780 AMP This card is undoubtedly an Extremely Powerful variant of the GTX 780. But how much of a difference will it make with Zotac GTX 780 AMP! Edition’s 16% difference? Not noticeable let me tell you that, unless you are into breaking world records (then the 780 Accelero Hybrid is probably a better choice) the Factory Overclock wont mean much to you. If you are lagging with a stock 780 the Zotac GTX 780 AMP! Editions Boost wont help you out much and if not then you don’t need the 16% anyways. The most viable application for the Zotac GTX 780 AMP! Edition is of course SLI, however once again if you are going for an SLI build with a GTX 780 then your gaming needs are truly colossal, Think 4k or tri monitor setups. And in that case the GTX Titan with 6GB worth of memory (the thing that really matters at high resolutions) is probably a much better choice. Tell me your opinion on this card. I think that this is not a huge deal, because there is many more 780:s like 780 HOF witch have better OC than this Zotac card. 22. G-sync comes to Asus monitors in few weeks, but other brands will have it almost year later. There is so little price difference, between 1080p Asus G-sync monitor and a regular 1080p monitor, this awesome deal with Nvidia propably make a huge profit to Asus. ASUS has launched the G-Sync Lineup with the VG248QE, which you can get for only about $300. And That is 144Hz, so that makes it Awesome deal! According to Nvidia, G-Sync will come to its other partners,, namely BenQ, Viewsonic and Philips in the Q3 of 2014. Currently G-Sync will be card based but later ASUS will roll out monitors with integrated G-Sync chip set. I think that we all are very interested to see what the impact this will have to gamers and to other guys, hopefully Asus will Release IPS versions. Theoretically ASUS should have the clear advantage in Monitor sales, but, seriously we do not know. G-sync Basically G-sync is a chip in monitor which calculates your framerate (image below) and matches it with your fresfresh rate. Everyone who have kepler GPU (gtx 650 or above) and a G-sync monitor will be able to have G-sync and enjoy this smoothness.
