  1. Hi Guys, so as the topics suggests I am thinking about building an PC into my Kallax. I had the idea before but decided to build in an Core V1 from Thermaltake, which fits in there. But as it needs to take air from the sides and an custom AIO is just a nightmare in that case I want to upgrade. Another reason is that I want to upgrade from my m-ITX to an Micro-ATX and in that step to Ryzen. Current Setup: Case: Core V1 Motherboard: MSI Z97i Gaming ACK CPU: Intel Core I7 4790k CPU-Cooler: Rajinitek Pallas GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 FTW SSD: 2x Samsung Evo 256gb HDD: WD Green 1TB Upcoming Changes: Case: DIY Kallax Case Motherboard: Any Ryzen M-ATX or ATX CPU: Ryzen 5 So I though about it and didnt an amateur sketchup design... Still with a m-itx board just to see how much space there would be left... The outer case is 33*33*33cm long, although the deepth of kallax is about 37cm but wanna leave somespace to connectors. This is just the first sketchup and i am planning to improve it and add some things. But before I start building an finalizing my Design I have some questions: Do you have any Idea how i could set up the front ? cause I want it to look nice and clean so no Radiators or fans to be seen. I thought about some custom Mesh maybe or something like that. Also would you change the fans to 120mm ? Or leave them 140mm... Also what would you think about an 3 Chamber System, so that the PSU and the storage are in different chambers? Please give me any feedback you have on this build, because I really want to have an good functioning and well cooled PC
  2. I'm trying to find the best power supply to upgrade my HTPC built in a Fractal Node 304. Given the tiny case, an overclocked devil's canyon, and a 780ti, I'm trying to find something that's: Non-Modular because the extra length of modular cable connectors will get in the way of my 780ti. Also, a non-modular design usually routes the cables out of the bottom right corner, the ideal location for Node 304. 550W~650W based on a calculated load of just under 500W. 80 Plus Gold or as high of an efficiency rating as possible in hopes that it runs cooler and quieter for longer. (I know this isn't necessarily true) Regular ATX but as physically small as possible. 0 RPM fan mode would be a huge plus to reduce dust and noise. I love my EVGA 750 G2 in my main rig, but the modular design of its smaller brother 550 G2 (and G3) makes them unsuitable.... In the end I just want something that's compatible with my setup and is of very high quality. Budget isn't an issue, for the most part.
  3. So I decided to build a small form factor rig that could easily be fit into my backpack but still have all of the performance of a full size desktop computer. The limiting factor was the case. Its a SilverStone Surgo Series SG13. Link to case: http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=536&area=en The case is small and it fits easily into a backpack but how to fit everything in there was a challenge. I also went with SilverStone's SFX power supply the SFX SX800-LTI for consistent power and for overclocking capability. Link to power supply: http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=731&area=en The graphics card was a bit of a challenge because I was only limited to 10.5" but with some removal of a couple of plastic bracets on the front panel I was able to fit in a 11.02" Gigabyte 1080 ti Gaming OC 11g card in. Link to the Card: http://www.gigabyte.us/Graphics-Card/GV-N108TGAMING-OC-11G#kf The rest of the build was a lot easier to deal with I got myself an i7-7700k to go on the MSI Gaming Pro Carbon AC Z270i, 32gb of G.skil Aegis Ram DDR4 @ 2400mhz (16x2), 525gb Crucial M.2, 2 1tb Western Digital Black 2.5" laptop hard drives(for space reasons) and an all in one liquid cooler for the cpu, the Corsair H55 120mm. The photos below are basically everything that went into this build. I hope you all enjoy!
  4. So I'm currently trying to build a mini-itx rig for my room cause I don't have a lot of space. This is not my first pc build but it is my first itx build and my biggest concern is airflow right now. I've been trying to look for a decent GPU with a blower style fan for rear exhaust but the results I keep coming across are way out of my price range. My question is are there any good blower style gpu's out there for less than $200 or would I be better off getting an open air gpu and try water cooling? I would do fans but I'm sharing a room and trying to keep noise down. Any advice is appreciated!
  5. I've been looking for the perfect m-itx case forever! I need a case small enough to fit a suitcase so I can take it between my family and student home. First I was looking at the Raijintek Metis and was thinking about modding if with 2 additional fans on top so that the GPU could have some air intake. This guy did it and it looks great! http://www.overclock.net/t/1539670/raijintek-metis-owners-club/570#post_26034076 But then I thought: "Oh maybe the Node 202 would be just as good and it's a bit more portable and might not take up as much space if I put it vertically behind the monitor etc..." Also I wouldnt have to mod the Raijintek case. And most reviews say that its good! However, looks like people are getting problems with the CPU and GPU temps in this case. Obviously they would do in the Raijintek as well . But not if it's modified! I was happy when Linus made a video comparing these two cases. But I can't really understand the temp specifications that they have put up. And what about the noise levels? Can someone here please help me with this? I'm going for a i5 6700k R9 380x Sapphire Nitro Corsair SF450 PSU In the Raijintek case I was thinking about having a be quiet! Pure Rock cpu cooler and 3 be quiet! ShadowWings 120mm PWM (2 above gpu and 1 as outtake at the back) In the Node I was thinking about a Noctua NH-L9i Low profile LGA115x. I dont what extra fans would fit above the GPU intake. Any advice?
  6. Hey internet, So I'm planning my second build now and I'm looking at making it a mini-itx build but also going for like...borderline obnoxious amounts of RGB lighting. My girlfriend and I were looking to build something for her that kind of scratches that "Gay Unicorn bullshit" aesthetic with ridiculous amounts of rainbow colors so Corsair Vengance RGB sticks, Kraken x62, I'm gonna be putting the works into this little guy. It's mostly going to be used for art, some content creation, and light gaming. I was hoping I could get some opinions on either how to save a couple bucks or, more importantly, will all my parts fit into the case I've chosen? Or if there's just a better way to do the lighting then by all means let me know. I haven't done a mini itx build before so I got a case that still had some extra room to play with, but I still would welcome any and all thoughts you might have as build vetting is only something I've had to do once before on my own! Here's the parts list, let me know what you think!! https://pcpartpicker.com/user/PhysicalVocalist/saved/9kZ7P6
  7. Hello! I need some help finding an air cooler that is compatible with the gigabyte ga-f2a88xn-wifi and can cool my amd athlon x4 860k. Budget is tight, so max 65 USD (might be able to stretch another 10 USD) The case is the fractal design define s nano, so the max height is 16cm for the cooler. Three more things that are useful to know: 1. I have 2 sticks of corsair vengeance ram, the tall ones. 2. I am using a graphicscard 3. The mobo violates the AMD "keep out zone" around the socket. I hav not been able to find more info on this. Thanks for help if any!
  8. Recently the only mini itx motherboard for ryzen has been released,l however the board only has a 4 pin cpu connector. Will that hurt overclocking? Here's the board: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138452
  9. Hi there I was wondering if some of you could help me. I have recently sold my gaming pc because I have realised I wasn't gaming as often as I used to. I'm now on my old laptop. I'd like to build a new desktop tho, I'm not really sure on parts yet. I'm searching for a cheap, very reliable and stable motherboard for the current intel cpu's (LGA1151). I'm not planning on overclocking and I probably am gonna buy a i5-6500. I'm planning on building a compact pc so a M-ITX motherboard is needed. I had a Gigabyte Motherboard before and wasn't really keen on its UEFI and stability. Ports I need: -many USB Ports, as my mouse, keyboard and external HDD already use 4 of them (3 USB2.0, 1 USB3.0) -HDMI graphics output as im relying on the iGPU (at least for now) -5.1 surround sound output either on 3.5mm jacks or optical Toslink jack Ports that would be nice: -USB3.1 Type C Port Prices up to around 100 US$ I've searched for a long time but couldnt really find a really good one. I was wondering if it would be worth it waiting for kaby lake processors which are said to be released in the beginning of 2017. I could wait as my laptop does work for the moment. The pc is being used for office applications(microsoft office), internet browsing (chrome) and maybe later light gaming with a later added GPU. Thank you very much for your help
  10. Hi! So, I have an alienware x51 case atm and need to get a new case because i bought an internal exhaust gpu. Also would like a black/red themed case, not too important but nice to have. SYSTEM SPECS: Alienware x51 mobo i7-4790 16gb ddr3 zotac gtx 1060 mini alienware x51 case
  11. Does anyone out there know any cases like the ncase m1 or the silverstone sugo 13
  12. Please read before you call me an idiot for asking about 2 cards in m-itx, I know it only has one slot There are a lot of cases now that use a pci-e riser to lay your pci card flat next to you motherboard, but are there any that allow for a pci-e riser that splits the 1 16x lane into 2 8x lanes so you could use 2 single slot cards? It seems a waste of space if you need a pci card, but not a 2 slot like most gpus since I don't think there are any single slot sff cases that lay flat, they're all for dual slot cards.
  13. Thought about posting in the news section, but then this is WCCFtech, reputable? I dont think so. Mods please move it if necessary Source WCCFtech's post isn't all that detailed, so not quoting their words. This is the EPC621D4I-2M from Asrock Rack (no, not those racks). Server board department basically, building this insane piece of engineering to maximize density with LGA 3647 support. It's rated for TDP up to 205W with its 6 phase VRM with super tall (yet not wide) heatsinks and the whiney type of inductors, so Cascade-Lake-SP series will all work properly with the board but not the W-3175X at 255w TDP (likely no turbo boost) So to put this massive socket into an mITX sized piece of fiberglass, the hexa-channel memory supporting CPUs will have to make do with quad channel SODIMM memory. There's only 1 SATA port (for DOM, disk on module use as this is a server board) on the board itself, relying on the U.2 SFF-8639 to expand into 4 SATA ports or a PCIe 3.0 x4 connection. At the back there are 2 M.2-2280 supporting slots capable of running PCIe x4 and SATA. I/O is ridiculously barren by HEDT standards though normal for a server board, with 2 ethernet ports (not sure if 1 gigabit or 10 gigabit), 2 USB 3.0 (I know officially it's 3.1 Gen 1, but they are functionally the same and I despise the naming scheme) and a VGA display out. There also seems to be 2 PWM fan headers, 1 DC fan header and a front panel header. TR4 socket (58.5mm x 75.4mm) is ever so slightly bigger than LGA 3647 socket (56.5mm x 76.0mm), so if an mITX board exists for Threadripper it will share all the problems if not more. You could get by with limited storage connectors, quad channel is fine, rear I/O wont be anywhere near enough without expansion hubs (even with VGA port used to build more USB ports, and forget PS/2 support as USB is more important), it can't support 250w 24 core and 32 core Threadrippers at full speed, there wont be any audio codec that would fit on the board so you're relying on the graphics card for audio, and zero RGB on the board itself. Oh, and front panel connection only include power and reset switches as not even USB front panel headers exist. I havent got into the debug features and crash-recovery system yet... Does that mean TR4 on mITX is silly? Yes, totally yes, you have to be insane and masochistic to buy a board with this many flaws and limitations (most likely a crazy price as well) for yourself, and that is why you should.
  14. I plan to start this build after my (M.I.B)workstation build, as a Christmas present to add to my uncle's game room. At the same time I wanted to see how much of a budget would I need to build a 1440p gaming monster. CoolerMaster Elite 110 - Mesh Front ($47.90) A B550 m-itx motherboard ($90 - 130) AMD Ryzen 3000 G series 8 core processor ($260 - 300) Corsair H80i V2 ($89.99) Crucial Ballistix Elite 3200mhz cl15 16gb ($101.99) PowerColor RX Vega 56 8gb nano ($309.90) Adata XPG SX8200 Pro nvme 256gb - Windows 10 ($47.90) Crucial MX500 1tb 2.5 inch ssd - pc games ($129.99) Toshiba 7200rpm 1tb 2.5 inch hdd - emulator + games/storemi boosted($31.90) Coolermaster MWE Gold 550W 550w 80+ gold OS :Windows 10 I chose the nano card because I still have 1 in stock, you can always replace it with Zotac's rtx 2060 mini. This build is more or less the same with the M.I.B build just with lower tier parts (cpu, gpu, motherboard)
  15. After working on Abby's (Mini Monster) I realized how much of a monster that the CoolerMaster Elite 110 (mesh) is. It's so easy to airbrush the outer shell and switch out the mesh filters on the shell. I took everything in my raijintek ophion except for the Radeon vii and fit into the elite 110, I now just hope either zotac, msi or gigabyte makes a mini 2080 or 2080ti. Im ordering a Coolermaster elite 110 - (mesh) for myself. Cyber Scylla CoolerMaster Elite 110 - (Mesh Front) black /olive - Camo Green airbrushed. Gigabyte Aorus B450i gaming pro wifi motherboard Ryzen R7 2700 - (4.1ghrtz oc) to buy Corsair H80i V2 Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB ddr4 3200mhz 16gb Zotac RTX 2070 Mini 8gb - (until a 2080/2080ti mini) Adata XPG SX8200 Pro nvme 512gb m.2 Crucial MX500 1tb 2.5 inch ssd - to buy Toshiba 7200rpm 2tb 2.5inch hdd - (boosted storemi) Corsair SF450 SFX 450w 80+platinum full modular Cooling system : Radiator : Corsair ML 120 PRO RGB X3 + node pro Extras : Notes : Purple breathing leds.
  16. Me and Abby are still in the planning phase of her system because the case and the gpu won't arrive yet, but we discussed regarding the overclocking of her cpu and gpu. She wants to oc the cpu to 4.2ghrtz and try to overclock the gigabyte card. The problem is I'm not sure if the headroom of the psu may not be enough. Mini Monster CoolerMaster Elite 110 - Mesh Front (Airbrushed Pearl Dust / White) Msi B450i gaming plus ac motherboard Ryzen R5 2600 - (to be overclock to 4.2 ghrtz) CoerMaster MasterLiquid ML 120 Lite 120mm Gigabyte RTX 2070 Mini - itx 8gb - on back order have to wait 1 month. Is the cpu cooler enough for the overclocking? Should I even try to overclock the mini gpu? Thank you for the advice.
  17. I need a gpu not more then 200mm both the cards meet the specifications and the build looks about the same, only the gigabyte card is 4mm longer. The only difference is the overclocking, According to tech yes city host the gigabyte card power limiters can be pushed to 120%++ before throttling Accounting to optimum tech the msi card power limiter can be pushed to 110%++ before throttling Which card should I go for?
  18. In 2019 i built my 3rd m-itx computer, designed and built by myself based on the planet Mars. the last 2 cases / computers were based on Earth, but this time i wanted something different and went for a custom built Parvum X2.0 m-itx case with different than standard dimensions, i made it approx. one inch more in height so it can take a 2.7 slot GPU The main components are: Case - Parvum X2.0 m-itx special dimension case in (black main panels) (brown gloss front panel) (red frosted back panel) m/board - Asus m-itx Z370 ROG Strix i-gaming motherboard CPU - Intel i9 9900 with Noctua NH-D9L CPU cooler GPU - Asus 2070 super RTX duel series PSU - Silverstone FSX-L SX700 LPT fully modular power supply NOW with Cable Mod custom cables. memory - 32gb 3200mhz DDR4 GSkill trident Z kit main drive (C) Team Group T-Force Cardea IOPS 1TB nvme gen3 M.2 SSD drive games drive (D)Team Group T-Force Cardea 2TB nvme gen4 M.2 SSD drive LED lighting front fan - Corsair 140mm PWM Blue LED premium fan top fans - 2x 140mm super thin fans rear fans - 2x Noctua 80mm PWM case fans. Monitor - Asus PB278Q WQHD 2K (1440p) 27" LCD LED monitor (as reviewed by Linus) totally awesome all-rounder monitor at time of purchase. CableMod custom cables. overall evaluation: Small, compact unit with adequate power, performance for most modern games, air cooled is simple & effective, no problem with overheating, quite and looks amazing at night. built to budget, works perfect. all components are new. thank you for checking this out, its the only one in the world, custom case, my design and build. i can update the build pics later, ones now reflect the finished build. note: some pictures are taken when i had the old memory kit installed which was a 16GB Team group Vulcan 3200mhz kit.
  19. I've just built this PC for my dad for Father's day and have installed windows 10. The part list can be found here. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sN6L9J The problem im facing is that there are no network adapters found. Even though my AsRock B360m-ITX/ac motherboard supports on board wireless. I go to device manager and under network adapters i only find Bluetooth. No wireless adapter and no LAN atapter I've attached a screenshot of this. I Also go to network and sharing center and then to change adapter settings and only find bluetooth. No LAN or Wireless again Screenshot attached of this also I went to AsRocks website for my motherboard. https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/B360M-ITXac/index.asp#Download I have the newest BIOS version P1.4 So i tried looking at the downloads. I see LAN drivers and Wireless LAN Drivers I installed these to a USB and unzipped them. I plugged the USB into the No Wi-fi PC and copied the files to the C: Drive I then tried to run the LAN driver auto install but received error "no intel adapter detected" So i tried to install the wireless LAN driver when running this autorun file simply nothing happens no error and no install starts. I've opened a ticket with AsRock support but im at a loss and really need help so i can get this up an running before father's day
  20. I really need help to try and find a good mobo for under $150 AUD for the LGA1150 socket. I need it to be mini ITX for a Corsair Carbide 250D, and a Intel Core i7-4770k. And hopefully something that isn't too expensive to get into Australia. Or would it be cheaper and easier to get a new CPU / RAM / MOBO?
  21. "WD XOI" www.instagram.com/willydijo willydijo.com _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ XOI as in "EXO-I" This case is designed to be a very space efficient M-ITX system for a friend that is moving for university. Dimensions being 343mm long x 206mm wide and 283mm tall, all measurements include the bolts. The cases frame is entirely made from 3mm angle and plate aluminium, with black acrylic panels. The side window panel is not finalized, it will be either clear or black depending on how the inside turns out, a lot of the view will be the back of a PSU and its cables. The case is designed to house a reference GPU, ATX PSU, 2x 3.5" HDD's, 2x 2.5" Drives, M-ITX Motherboard, 2x 140mm and a 120mm AIO cooler radiator. The PSU will be covering the motherboard and will require a Corsair H55 120mm AIO cooler. I am looking forward to seeing how the case performs thermally, I haven't done any temp tests before but I'll post my results once complete, I'll test with my GTX 690 and try with my friends R9 290 two quite hot cards. There are two 140mm intake fans at the bottom of the system directly under the GPU, a 120mm radiator as an exhaust behind the front cover and the PSU's fan drawing air away from the motherboards heatsink. The case manages storage by having two 3.5" HDD's behind the motherboards support rails and two 2.5" drives screwed to the underside of the top panel. System Components i7 4770k ASRock H97 M-ITX 8GB DDR3 RAM GTX 690 EVGA 750W 120GB Intel SSD + 1TB HDD Corsair H55 120mm Cooler 2x Thermaltake Riing 140mm fans _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All the angle aluminium for the case. Each length being 1 metre bar a couple being half a metre. Hacksawed to their rough length. Filed to their final length. Quick system size mock-up, I've never seen at an ITX system in person but I couldn't help but "Naaaww" at how tiny it is. Scribing markings at the moment, please let me know what you think of the case.
  22. I need help with parts. I have a fractal design define nano s, a cooler and a power supply. the pc is going to be used for gaming. I have a 1080p monitor and play battlefield 4 and unturned. so, I need a M-ITX mobo. I want a 1TB ssd so I can clone my HDD to it. budget is 1000$ and please use uk amazon.
  23. I have a M-ITX build in a Silverstone RVZ02. The CPU is a 6600k tho I might upgrade to the Kaby Lake equivalent of the 6700k when it comes out. I currently have a Noctua NH-L9i cooler on it but I find that it reaches it's thermal limit quickly if the CPU cores are maxed out. Is there anything that I can try instead of the L9i with a higher TDP, replaceable fans and fits into the 58mm case restrictions?
  24. Linus, Luke, John - if you’re out there, can you hear me calling? tl;dr: Does that AsRoc ITX x99 board support VT-d? Is the 5900 series if Core-i processors going to work with it (VT-d? If anyone else knows, can you help me out? 1. Budget & Location My budget is variable, and the shipping costs are my own concern. Basically, whatever it takes to complete the build. Location is Bermuda (The island in the middle of the Atlantic) 2. Aim Build a small (for portability and coolness factor), Linux based hypervisor for running everything from: A private mirror package repository for raspbian and other linux flavours A steam (on windows) gaming box (needs vt-d support) Emulation stuff that can't be handled by retroarch on a pi NAS controller (and possibly storage. Will be using Ceph to link multiple storage locations) Maybe even VDI for my SO. 3. Monitors I have all I need. There will be a 1080p dell for regular gaming, a 1080p TV for emulation and a 4k screen for testing, a bit of content creation, 3d modeling and possibly gaming. 4. Peripherals None needed at the moment, I have my trusty Apple USB keyboard and ssh for all configurations. 5. Why are you upgrading? I don't have a desktop at the moment. I thought about running with an eGPU setup on my macbook pro and bootcamping windows 10, but experience has broken me down and demands at the very least a dedicated machine for this. I may split it out in the future, but for now, this is what I’m going with. I want more than just gaming, I’m tired of kludges and virtualisation is my business - so I get to flesh out my professional knowledge whilst building a sweet hypervisor for personal profit! I've wanted to try out VT-d with graphics for a long time, but never could get used to the form factor of having a honking great big tower somewhere near me, as opposed to in a datacenter somewhere. LTT gets full credit for tickling my inner nerd enough to move ahead with this. Inspirations: My inspirations for this build were “2 gamers one CPU” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuJYMCbIbPk, “7 gamers 1 CPU” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXOaCkbt4lI and “The MOST Compact Gaming PC” https://youtu.be/MjDJNwAANwA Hardware: I have already purchased the Silverstone sg13 mesh as used in the LTT video “The MOST Compact Gaming PC” I have gone with the Silverstone 80+ Gold 600W SFX power supply. ---- The Remainder ---- I’m currently looking at: The AsRoc mini itx x99 motherboard The 59xx series of processors (which combination of mobo and CPU is going to give me vt-d and the gaming performance I need) Titan X over 980ti I may possibly wait for the Pascal line up to have a few options as well. (I have an old EVGA 660ti to tide me over until I can afford either of the cards, so price doesn't really factor in this decision) ---- So here’s where I am so far. Between listings on wikipedia and Intel ARK for which CPU’s support VT-d I have leanerd: The 5920k will The 5930k will The 5960x will The motherboard appears to. The problem lies in that, RMA’ing from Bermuda or even just returns would really suck (if they'd even take an open box CPU back) Has anyone tried VT-d with this board, does it work? I would really like the NVMe slot and 3.1 USB slots for 10GBit networking, but will downgrade if I have to. Cheers! sunbear
  25. Now, before any of you look at the title, then look at the build and go "... but why?", I am one who prefers to give someone more than they'll ever need. So that if they use it for other things later, it will perform well enough. Plus, you can expect this thing to eventually get viruses. Having more horse power when that inevitably happens would still keep it usable (albeit, that is possibly a bad thing, instead of a good thing).
