I was one of the people who returned their backpack. Followed all the instructions. Sent back my backpack and LTTStore received over a week ago. Per the email, I emailed LTTStore the day after I sent in the backpack for an "immediate" refund. I never received anything from LTT store. No refund, no confirmation, no response. Now I have no backpack, no refund, and nobody will contact me. This is not ok, and some of the most horrible customer service I've ever received and was not expected. "Trust me bro", sorry not anymore. Is there a different email address besides the customer service email at LTTStore.com or someone I can contact? Thanks

What if lttstore made and sold special LTT keycaps? They'd be something that would be fairly easy (at least, I think) for Creator Warehouse to make, and it would take advantage of one of lttstore's big advantages: design. Plus, (when the LTT community is taken into consideration) they'd probably sell pretty well.

What's the first LTT video you watched? While I'm not entirely sure on mine, I believe mine was the "Why Does Linus Pirate Windows" video.

EDIT: Hello everyone. Yesterday was the third anniversary of the database and I wanted to thank all of the 200+ people who have uploaded to the proyect in all these years. I have been absent for quite some time now, coming every now and then to upload a few entries and try to clean up the format, but looking back to these three years I think all of you deserve better, the database deserves better than me checking it every six months. For now I will finish registering all of the remaining entries and clean the format to facilititate readability, I will be uploading a data analysis within the week and finally I am working on a new entry form that will hopefully be more clean and organized than the first version. ---- So here it is, have you ever run into problems by overclocking too high??, boosting only 10MHz up the stock speed because you think your card might blow?? Well, today I bring you the end of your problems: THE GPU OVERCLOCKING DATABASE. Ok, bad intro over, the general idea of the database is to have a place where everyone on the internet see and compare overclocking result no matter what card they have and no matter how crazy or conservative they want to overclock them. For addional info you can check this http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/15788-gpu-overclocking-database-project/ thread. All the general idea is there. Here is the link to the form in which you can enter as many cards as you want: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1JRtSc8imZJ1J21T0bn99wP6BZbYf_uUbfMhPX4Y7LbE/viewform Spreadsheet insertion: (Coming Soon) And here is the link to the database: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc? key=0Al4AReUTy6OsdFBJRWJwTTBIRE1OQlZrSmhFYlVVa2c#gid=0 As an intencion to represent in a more complete way the overclocking, we know that not every system is the same and therefore would like every one of the participants of the database to add as much information as they please about their overcloking and their system, may they be specs, airflow description, watercooling setup, game benchmarks and synthetic results, your personal history with the card everything that you think may affect even 1% of your overclocking scenario, everything that you think may be important as long as you feel comfortable with, we know that not everyone likes to give away their system info, so everything in this step is optional, but we feel that could become a useful tool for when people check the database, which is the point of the entirer project. Those who wish to participate in this new requirement can submit their description right here on this thread and at the moment of submitting your entry you just have to link that post and I will appear on the database, just as the rest of the information. I hope to hear your feedback on how we can make this better but more than anything I hope that this database can grow so that it can be helpful for all of us. EDIT: THE POST DOES NOT REPLACE THE DATABASE SUBMISSION, Check this post by our collab Skullbringer for a general and very detailed idea on how to submit the info. Edit 1: When submitting the photos, only direct links please, we are monitoring on docs so IMG crusts don't work Edit 2: Examples of validation screenshots:

So I don’t know how many people join this site on a daily basis, but considering how close the forum is to 1,000,000 users, do you guys think it’s possible to reach that number by the end of the year?

So why was this section renamed to Whale LAN? I mean a lot of the threads here are about LTX and not as much Whale LAN (although there is a presence of Whale LAN topics on here)

I'm not talking about the Canadian-American philosopher born in 1932, just to be clear. I love the enthusiasm, energy and unapologetically nerdiness David brings into videos about cameras, cinematography, gaming, mice etc. As a person from the film industry myself, it's always fun to listen to likeminded people. I know he's a cinematographer working behind the camera a lot, but every time I see him in a thumbnail and video I get excited because I know it will be an entertaining one. Also it's fun every time he starts laughing, both in front of and behind the camera. Loved the video about the ALEXA camera that you posted yesterday! Great job David, hoping to see more of you on LTT! (me when I see a new video with David in it)

I was wondering if, and if so how, LMG/LTT contributes to charity? I'm aware of...: That the auctions at LTX was for charity. Folding@Home is for charity. ...however, both of these was money/computer resources coming from their fans, not themselves. LMG was allegedly offered to be purchased and valued at a 9 figure number. Also, Linus has enough money to go around and build tennis centers for people, both LMG as a company and Linus as a person has a lot of money. Controversial opinion that might trigger a lot of people: I personally believe we as humans should try to leave the earth a better place than we found it, and no matter if you make $1000 USD or $10000 USD per month, I strongly believe that donating at least $1 USD per month to charity is a million times better than donating nothing. I'm a student with basically no money or income at all at the moment, but I still make sure to donate $5 USD per month to a local cat shelter, since that's a charity that personally feels important to me. Being open about which charities you donate to is not about boasting or bragging, it's about normalizing it and making it the norm.

Linus has talked about the issues with the current zipper pulls and how they are going to offer an alternative to those that have purchased the backpack. When will production start to implement the new zipper pulls?

So around May (I think) I listened to a WAN Show where Linus had a merch message that asked why LTT (and I think other LMG channels as well) had stopped making YouTube Shorts. Linus replied to the message and said that they just didn't find it profitable enough for the time it took to make a Short. Recently, I've been seeing LTT create YouTube shorts (in fact, they uploaded one yesterday). Does anyone know what changed?

I was watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yyu4elBIGbg and noticed where they had shown fakelttlabs.com and so just removed the fake and tried it and got redirected here, so that's probably where the actual labs website will be hosted. DISCLAIMER: I have no idea if any of this is actually true and none of this has been verified. All of this was me screwing around on the internet and finding something interesting and wanting to share with people who may be interested.

So I generally like to listen to podcasts rather than watch them, so I usually listen to the WAN Show when the VOD becomes available on Spotify. This week I noticed that the audio levels on the VOD are kinda quiet. I was wondering if it's just me or if everyone else is having this problem.

PC Secret Shopper is my favorite LTT series, and I’ve watched the old episodes multiple times. Does anyone know when the next episode will get published? Really looking forward to it!

Hi guys! As you probably know, there's a big sale coming up for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, but the shipping costs are pretty high for EU...anyone wants to do a group buy and then just send it internally within EU to each other?

Hi everyone. Something I've noticed over the last year or so is how inconsistent LMG are with their investment disclosures. These disclosures are often short or easily missed, and in ShortCircuit videos (at least the ones I've seen) they aren't mentioned at all! As frequent viewers are aware, Linus invested in Framework 2 years ago and has been posting fairly frequent updates on the main channel. They also committed to disclosing the investment in any videos that cover laptops since Linus has invested in their competition. While they have been disclosing the investment in LTT videos, the disclosure is oftentimes placed towards the end of a video and/or mentioned in passing. In some ShortCircuit videos on laptops, this isn't mentioned AT ALL. In the AliExpress laptop video posted to LTT last week, the investment disclosure was made at 19:30 in a 22 minute video with Linus briefly saying "investment disclosure" in the middle of a run-on sentence about USB and CPU power management. This disclosure would be easy to miss if you're not looking for it and many viewers don't make it 20 minutes into a video. While this may seem incredibly nit-picky for frequent viewers who are already aware of the investment, this does not serve as an adequate disclosure of a potential conflict of interest, especially for newer viewers. What isn't acceptable though is completely missing this disclosure on other channels. The XPS 15 video on the 28th July and the Hyundai laptop video on 5th October do not mention the framework investment at all. The Hyundai video hilariously even includes an MSI sponsorship which mentions "Looking for a laptop for next semester? Well they've got those!". In a video about another company's laptop. While ShortCircuit videos aren't necessarily reviews, they are first impressions that are used as information for purchasing decisions. While it is often another person on-camera, the video is still on a channel owned by LMG and is thus owned by Linus, who has also invested in Framework. Despite it being on a different channel with a different presenter, this still constitutes a conflict of interest and MUST be disclosed. I don't want to attribute to malice something that could easily have been missed, but giving consumers the financial context behind the content they're watching is vitally important on all channels owned by LMG. Content creators on YouTube are already required, by law, to disclose any advertising in their videos in clear and obvious ways. These standards should also be followed for potential conflicts of interest originating from financial investments. It doesn't have to be anything long or overly wordy, but a brief "Hi, I invested into Framework, a competing brand that also manufactures laptops. Do with that information as you wish" at the start of any laptop video would be much better. It's clear, concise, and crucially, at the start of the video. This way it cannot be missed. While I, for the most part, trust LTT to not allow the Framework investment to colour their laptop content or reviews; the disclosure is vital for transparency in an increasingly opaque media landscape. Unfortunately this is a discussion adjacent to conflict of interest in the tech influencer space in general (i.e. reviewing or featuring products from companies that are paying for sponsored ad space, even if the ads are placed on other videos) and has lead to an atmosphere of "trust me bro" in the industry. While I have been able to trust some of these people through their great track-record, limiting conflict of interest is still vitally important. Addressing CoI doesn't mean that the sketchy collusion is happening, but we should want to limit the circumstances where they COULD happen. In turn that will limit the circumstances in which they DO happen. I want to trust LTT, I've been here since the GTX 580 days (damn, it's been 12 years), and I'm aware that there are many other problems that need addressing right now. I don't want to just jump into a dog-pile but making clear and obvious investment disclaimers is a consumer-friendly change that will give people vitally important context into the content they're watching. If I've got anything wrong I'm sure people will let me know and I welcome any corrections. Otherwise I hope this feedback finds the right people

For an idea why don't you make an iscsi drive share on your server and use it to store your steam game library so you don't need to carry a separate drive for your games and it will be quicker to point steam at the library? Just a suggestion

I have seen in several videos that LTT members use google docs. What advantage do they have? I personally only used google docs for school, for my other chores I prefer to use onlyoffice (also libreoffice) or since I go to university I've been using the office package for free as a student. In my opinion google docs is useful for those who have to make several people work on the same document, thanks to the functionality of the drive, but when I was studying it was inconvenient for me to have an internet connection in order to access all the documents. What do you think? Have they ever explained why they use google workspace? Also, if I don't remember well or I dreamed it, tell me

GN has published, both on yt and on their website, a video explaining their policies for why and when they do or don't contact a company for comment before publishing a video. Among other things. Much of the criticism, from even Linus himself, was about publishing without first "reaching out". It was deemed unethical, or not real "journalism" by Dr. Ian Cutress even. This was his main gripe with them iirc. It didn't seem unfair to me to not contact LTT for the original video, and in the HW News vid they did they explained. But here it is in much more detail and with historical examples of how, when and why they choose to either contact or not contact a company for comment. This being Dr. Cutress of Techtechpotato's main problem with the exposé also led to many people declaring that GN does not do "real investigative journalism". I'm not a journalist, and GN sprinkling opinions throughout their video I can understand as criticism. But what's you opinion on GNs practices?

What are some goods alternative sources to get data about the things LTT/LMG covers? For example, I know https://www.rtings.com/ is great for things like laptop, camera, speaker, headphones, keyboard, mouse, monitor and TV reviews. (Also mods please keep this as a separate thread since it's not directly related to the discussion of the controversy).
