Hi there everyone, I just wanted to get a general impression on what you guys think of my new 'doesn't really make sense' setup. CPU: AMD 3020e (Base Clock: 1.2GHz, Overclocked: 2.6GHz) (2C,2T CPU) iGPU: AMD Vega 3 Graphics (2GB allocated // Taken from RAM) eGPU: EVGA Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 GPU 8GB GDDR6 DP Blower RAM: Samsung x1 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Single-Channel External PSU: Dell DA-2 12V 18A 220W AC Adapter (For GPU) Screen Resolution: 1366x768 (FHD) eGPU Dock: V8.5 EXP GDC Laptop External GPU Dock M.2 A+E Key I will also connect an EVanLink Ghost DisplayPort Dummy Plug, so that I can use the built-in display on the laptop, (this also means that I will lose little to no performance out of the GPU) I will be waiting a couple more weeks for the the eGPU Dock to arrive from China, afterwards I'll try doing some before and after benchmarks comparing the performance of the setup with and without the eGPU

I have a really old PC that does not have a IGPU and I'm getting really bored. Any good fun games?

Will a random 350 watt psu from an unknown brand be enough for the i3 3240 and the rx 480?

How will an I3 3240 and a rx 480 8gb will perform in games like doom, fallot 4, assassin's creed, gta v... This is an old pc that I want to upgrade for my cousin. Also I play at 1080p 60hz. 8 gb ddr3 ram. I think he'll use the rx in future rigs with better cpu's. I can get the gtx 960/for 30-40$ more the gtx 1060 6gb. What do you say?

I play DotA 2 with 1366x768 resolution, I'm expecting to have better fps avg but no. I thought setting it to a lower reso would improve performance, however it's not. 2. My current DotA 2 resolution is 1920 x 1080, why? Because it's the only setup that would look reasonable and fitting to my monitor specially the text, makes them look clear. (Unlike setting it to 1366 x 768 which makes the text blurry) NOTE: I disabled tree movements, vsync (even turning them on doesn't really help) & Shadow Quality is set to Medium, sometimes even OFF. 3. With regards to overclocking, I don't really feel the difference between the two when I am in-game. Thoughts? 4. Additional info: I've already cleaned my setup to free the dust, etc.. Temperatures are at their normal level. 5. I just want to have a consistent fps count in dota 2 Not just in my lane, specially with team fights when everyone casts skills etc.. I basically wanna build my cousin a "scrap yard wars" like gaming rig for his first PC... So what's the best gpu for around 100 usd??

Would a core i3 8100 pair up good with a 1050 ti? Would a AMD system be better for a low end gaming pc? What would you guys recommend? I'm not looking for brand new things so I would get them a little below retail.

I have an exam coming up and I use a 6th gen or laptop with 4gig ram and 1tb HDD not even 7200rpm. As windows 10 was the os it came with I used it, despite its heavy load on the hardware. But as I kept using it sometimes it would frustrate me in the middle of work for how long it takes to open up .jpegs or .PDFs. Don't even mention chrome's performance. I knew that the problem was mostly down to my HDD, but my current lack of resources (both time and funds) stopped me from getting a ssd. So obviously I dual booted Linux. First lubuntu, then Ubuntu. I thought at least Ubuntu wouldn't let me down with driver issues and reliability, but alas it did. So I considered windows 7, but as windows 10 is preloaded and came with a key I didn't meddle with it. But now it's making me angry with all of this friction and my sanity is being challenged. Please help.

I am trying to find the best price per performance ratio on a laptop that my brother wants to buy with a fairly fixed budget. But, being quite a beginner, I have trouble comparing CPUs. I have found two similar notebooks with Intel Core i3 6006U Skylake with 4 GB RAM and AMD A6 9220 with 8 GB RAM, other parameters are similar or (imho) not so significant for the performance (1 TB HDD witch 5400 RPM, similar battery capacity etc.). When I try to compare the computers intuitively, the AMD one clearly wins for me. It has bigger clockspeed and twice as much RAM. But according to PassMark the Intel processor has higher CPU mark and the retailer also favors the Intel over the AMD. It is because of the processor cache? In conclusion, I have two quiestions: Which computer has better performance? Why tho? I’m planning a low end budget build for a friend. He wants something small and cheap. Pc will be used for web browsing, video streaming, and OpenOffice probably I was looking at some intel NUCs and they look perfect, but I’m not sure which one to get. I was looking at one with an Intel Celeron N3050 processor, would that be powerful enough for that workload? I’m worried it will not be able to handle video playback very well

Hey, I'm building my first PC and was planing on running UnRAID, virtualising Win 10 and running some servers off of UnRAID. I thought I could use the iGPU for the UnRAID console output. Silly me didn't realise that there is no iGPU on X299 CPUs and so there is none on my 7800X. Now I need a really really basic GPU (preferably with HDMI output) but I don't know which to buy. I was looking into the Nvidia GT 1030, just 'cause of fancy pascal architecture and stuff, but it really has more rendering power than I need. Can you recommend something cheap but functional? Hi there guys! Last time I asked for help for a build it was for my gaming rig. You all were awesome and I am enjoying sweet and smooth 1080 gaming a lot. Now, I am sure many of you could help me build the best computer for high-end gaming... but what I need now it's kind of different. I was asked, from my uncle, to build a computer. He needs it for work. He and my father own an architect studio, and both have very old and very obsolete computers. Also, those are full amd and kinda hot in these hot days ( #hotitalyishot ). He would like to pay around 600Eur. The build should not be high-end, and he asked just for a few things: -must be pretty fast to turn on; -must have a cd reader (i could not belive it, but it seems he still uses those); -should not consume too much power; -must run autocad and office programs flawlessly; Anyone has any ideas? Hello, So I'm interested to see if there are any low-end laptops on the market that are rather cheap and will fit my needs. I don't at all mind buying used as long as everything works (I don't care if it's scratched up a bit). If you know of a model that will work fine and is cheap used, feel free to recommend it. I'll be using this for when I travel. All it will be put through is web-browsing, school/work, Spotify, and old games like Sim City 4. I'd like it to do these tasks without it stuttering/crashing every few minutes. I will do a fresh install of Linux Mint probably. Reqs- 1.66Ghz+ CPU 1.5gb+ of RAM Doesn't suffer major heating issues (i.e. doesn't hit the thermal limit ~85c) 1+ USB port Ethernet port Headphone jack 1.5+ hours of battery when in use. Wifi Would like- Preferably dual core CPU or better (single+hyper threading is fine though) Lightweight ~11inches No touchscreen! Matte screen. Recent Quiet Charger that isn't the size and weight of a freighter. SSD if new. Thanks and any suggestions are appreciated! If you need a price point to go after ~$200, but I can go higher if it's a nice deal.

Asus is unlocking overclockin on all 1150 boards in a new Bios Update, even if you can't overclock as far on a cheap board, I think we will see a lot more enthusiasts buying H87 boards. Good Afternoon, I have an Asus P8Z77-V LK and i am planning to buy an Intel 3770k and so it came up to me. What could be a good clock on this type of set up? I plan on like maybe 4.2 but still i was curious. Any thoughts? :ph34r: < no one shall find me!

I have this soundcard PPA 1424V and here's the website for the card (http://ppa-usa.com/computer-products/usb-pci/pci-sound-card-8-channel.html) I know its not a great sound card but it was cheap and I just needed something that had an anolog mic that worked. before you ask I have the ASUS M2NBP-CSM motherboard. it has built in sound, but I dont have the drivers. I am also using Windows 7 and I'm not sure how I got Win7 drivers for it in the first place. And I have no idea where to get them. the mic plug dosn't seem to work and its not recognize the mic in the control panel. here's what shows up in my control panel this is what shows up when im on the playback tab this is what shows up on the top part of my recording tab and this is what shows up on the bottom part of the recording tab I should note that im using HDMI on a GT620 video card. Could that be the reason why it isn't working? And I have the "Do nothing" selected in the Communications tab, but that shouldnt affect anything...
