so i have this phone htc 820G+ and i this phone does not get system updates. i looked up in the internet and other users are also complaining about it as HTC is not sending any. the OS im currently having is kitkat and i want to upgrade it to lollipop or marshmallow but i havent found any sources for that as well. however i have seen people installing CyanogenMod 13, but there is some risk too as some people have got various features in their device not working and there are successful people too.i just want to know if its worth taking the risk to put CyanogenMod 13.is it just some software that makes your phone look like it has marshmallow or does it actually have atleast some of its features?

So after getting this phone I'm still stuggling with trying to find a way to safely upgrade this thing from Lollipop to Marshmallow, a lot of the reviews and sites say it's able to be upgraded, see here https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/8ff04204 It has a local update option but I'm not used to tinkering with phones or their OS and google isn't helping me much in the way of finding exact files, instructions... anyone help would be appreciated. Edit: Also just realized I posted in the wrong section, if someone could move this...

I have MOTO G3 XT1542 with Android 6 and it's been working extremely bad since I upgraded it from Lollipop, I want to Unlock the phone for either installing CyanogenMod or downgrading to Lollipop: First step for unlocking is enabling Developer Options and Inside Developer Options enable OEM Unlocking, well... I dont have OEM Unlocking! Well.. I've been reading "If it doesnt appear it's not necessary to enable it" Alright I Skipped step one, I requested my Unlock code and got to the last step where I have this error "Bootloader error make sure you enable OEM Unlocking in Developer Options" so..? The crazy part is that if I go to settings and I touch the Search icon and I write OEM, it appears, it finds it but after tapping me it takes me to Developer Options where it's not there... My friend has the exact same phone from the same career and he has the option. I really need to get this fixed somehow, Android 6 is really buggy i've encountered a problem today that there is no lock screen, home button won't work and notifications bar wont work (doesnt show notifications and doesnt even scroll down)

Can someone help me get rid of this notification? I don't want to upgrade my Note 4 (Verizon) to Lollipop. I did it once and downgraded back to KitKat because Lollipop destroyed my battery life. Now this is nagging me every time I go back to my home screen. Does anyone know how to get rid of it or to get it to stop asking? Thank you in advance for your help.

My phone is a Moto G (2nd Gen) It's running Android 5.1 I've tried clearing the app data for the bluetooth device, but that didn't work

Hey guys I’m in a slight dilemma, I’m using my galaxy alpha since nearly one year now and I’m pretty upset how Samsung handles updates. Android 5 is actually available for some Alpha's but apparently not for all. Here in Germany if you bought a Alpha with o2 or Vodafone branding you already received Android 5. But not if you got a device with Telekom or none branding at all (like me). Now, I want to upgrade my Alpha to 5.0 or 5.1 not only because of some new features and look, but also to fix some security issues (like stagefright). There are two things I want to talk about. First the installation of an official Rom and second an unofficial. Now, the "official" I’m talking about is a Rom that is already available for the Alpha but from a different country (without any branding). See here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G850F/ In particular I was thinking of the French 5.02 Rom released in April 2015. But there are some things I was wondering about: - If I install a Rom from a different country, could I get some issues with stuff like phone calls and mobile data as the device (may?) try to use the French mobile network and not the German one?! (I live close to the French border.) - Do I receive future updates? If yes, from a French vendor?! - What's the deal with the "PDA" and "CSC" number? I've found a similar number in the device info of my Alpha (G850FXXU1BOA2). But that number is not in the list. Even not for a Android 4.4.4 Rom. The unofficial Rom is a Resurrection Remix. See here http://forum.resurrectionremix.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=prtsikt0k4ejnvk508afaejra2&topic=2037.new#new , and here for the xda device thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-alpha/development/rom-resurrectionremix-v5-4-5-t3117915 What do you guys think I should do to get Android 5? There is no official version of cyanogenmod available. I have the feeling Samsung completely skip Android 5 for my device and may go directly to Android 6. I heard rumors that 6 is in development for the A-Series and the Alpha. Thanks

An Android Based OS, the Remix OS 2.0 is coming to PC and Mac for Free this mid January. It's in Alpha Stage. Built on Android-x86, Unparalleled performance. Optimized for Intel platform. Look at some benchmarks down here. And it's free as well. (yay!!) It's based on Android Lollipop. The company assures that there'll be updates in the future as well. People interested in trying it out will be able to download for free the alpha-stage OS from Jide.com or Android-x86.org on January 12. I'll be downloading this and will install it on my PC for sure. Update: Remix OS is available now http://www.jide.com/en/remixos-for-pc Sneak Peek - Remix OS 2.0 Source: Tom's Hardware, Jide.

While browsing the internet, I found a pretty awesome deal on a G4 (selling my z3c for lower prices than most and it would cover the cost). I am wondering if its worth the hassle to sell off my Z3C and switch over to the G4. My phone is my camera for when I don't have my DSLR or for when I need 4k/slowmo and my texting/calling device (mostly used for the camera). I have a Tab S 8.4 as a device for homework and notes, and a Moto 360 to pair the phone with. I like that my phone is waterproof, but ultimately it isn't essential to me (I'm too scared to use it after my Z2 was killed by water with the flaps shut (got it back for warranty, sold it, and bought Z3c for the same price I sold Z2 for)). I use my phone for hotspotting so I need some battery. What I want the G4 for is the camera and battery (Android L killed the Z3, M didn't fix it well enough). What do you think, gents? Is it worth my time to sell off my Z3c and buy the G4? Should I wait it out and see if I can snag a deal on a V10 or G5? I am fairly proficient in Android modding and feel comfortable rooting and installing custom ROMs. My Z3c is currently on Sony's Concept beta for Marshmallow, while the G4 only has 5.1.1 from LG. but also has CM13.

Hey all, not sure if you have all heard about this or not, but I saw it fairly recently, and figured I would try it out. This isn't the first Android X-86 style project I have seen, but it is by far the best one I have tried yet. So, it also got me thinking....who thinks it would be fun to see Linus run Android benchmarks on PC? Personally, I think it would give a really interesting view on just how far the mobile platform really would have to go before they could ever hope to catch up to PC. Anyway, rambling now. Here's the site. https://amiduos.com/ They have a 30 day trial. You can get either Kit Kat or Lollipop. KK is $10, Lollipop is $15 to buy.

Whenever i call someone or receive a call it ends automatically after few seconds. I have even updated the android from kitkat to Lollipop but the problem still retains. I have even checked the manually end call option but still nothing.

Preface: I am not on an Xperia Z2 for a while while the replacement parts are ordered and shipped. I am using a 1st gen moto g AWS (XT1034) with a bootloader of x4013. This is the main problem. I was ready to flash CM12 when a status 7 error occurred complaining about said bootloader. The plan: Original (done): Unlock bootloader Install CWM recovery Flash CM12 nightly *point of failure Mark 2 (done): Flash American stock ROM 4.4.4 Kitkat in hopes of OTA Use OTA to upgrade to bootloader x4018. *point of failure Mark 3 (current): Flash a foreign ROM with Lollipop that has support for AWS frequencies <----------------------------- Where I need help. Use CWM to flash CM12 Profit My actual question: I need to find a way to get the x4018 bootloader on my X1034. XDA has a post regarding this issue for other 1st gen Moto Gs (being the x1032 and x1031) but I run a risk of hard-bricking if I flash it on my x1034. The plan is to find a ROM, I started with Canadian and moved to US and now plan to move to another. I won't do this if it won't get me the Lollipop from Moto as that is the only way I could find to upgrade my bootloader. If you have a way to do this, please post. I know I should use XDA but I am somewhat a noob and need more basic advice that is more common here.

Someone needs to teach this shining example of a CEO that you really need to shut your mouth on making any sort of concrete promise to your customers. So never utter a single syllable that so much as lets anyone figure out a date of when your product is supposed to arrive. Don't give a date before you are actually done and can. Don't make such promises. Especially when you've already caught flack before for being a bit of a dunce and not understanding how to handle PR. If someone makes that date for you, dispel those rumours ASAP. Don't let them sit around, otherwise customers are gonna think they are real. But most importantly, don't snap at people over twitter. You're the CEO of a company. Grow up. This isn't how you get taken seriously by anyone. Childish fits are best left in the comment sections of forums or heckling comedians who you think you're funnier than; but not when you're trying to run a company. While we might have preferred something a bit more politically correct, it’s true: Cyanogen has always gone by the “it’s ready when it’s ready” mantra, and they probably don’t deserve the flood of hate rushing their way. http://phandroid.com/2015/04/01/oneplus-one-lollipop-delay-2/

There have been a few rumors stirring in the ol' rumor mill as to which vendor Google will choose for its next Nexus smartphone, this time LG is in the limelight as new details surface from gadget leakers over at Nowhereelse.fr. Recently Sony and Chinese handset maker Huawei have taken their turn as the rumored next in line for the Nexus smartphone provider, in which both companies have yet to add their name to the roster of Google smart phones. In 2014 google along with Motorola rolled out the Nexus 6 which was its first attempt at making a flagship priced premium built smartphone with its 6 inch construction, metal chassis, and dual front facing speakers, was a stark change from the mid-tier offerings that previous generation Nexus phones had to offer. What could LG bring to the table that the previous Nexus manufactures haven’t? How will they differentiate it themselves from previous generations? Well the details have emerged about alleged upcoming LG G4 and G4 note smart phones which point to a possible Nexus variant. Much like the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 they will be basing the new Nexus phone directly off of one of their existing flagships. Previously the LG Optimus G and The LG G2 stood as the base design platform for the Nexus 4 and 5, so much the same could be said about the G4/G4 Note. A 5.7 inch curved flexible display surrounded by a chassis of either metal or plastic (details are fuzzy about that) and a 16 Megapixel camera. Details about the CPU configuration are still up in the air though 3 GB or more of ram are very likely seeing as many flagship smart phones have at least 2 GB nowadays. Possibly the biggest addition to the next rumored Nexus smartphone is the inclusion of the stylus which would put it had that with Samsung’s galaxy Note line of smart phones. This would continue Google’s phablet phone trend in which the Nexus 6 began. This coincides with recent rumors of multi window application support that is baked into future versions of android in which having a stylus would greatly improve usability and multitasking. What are my thoughts exactly? I do find it a bit odd that if this rumor is true Motorola won’t have the opportunity to release a follow-up to the Nexus 6, seeing how LG and Samsung both released two Nexus smartphones each respectively. I personally feel that Motorola has the best design language of any smartphone company at the moment only to tie with HTC for build quality meanwhile LG and Samsung have continued to release flagship phones with subpar build quality and made from cheap materials. While Motorola and HTC have refined their world class smartphones to precision, leaving other handset vendors in what seems to be the Stone Age. TL;DR Basically if LG decides to release this phone as a flagship device and it has subpar build quality not only will it turn me away from LG smartphones it may turn me against my love of the Nexus brand. Thoughts?

Help installing Lollipop on Archos 101 internet tablet
impledob posted a topic in Phones and Tablets
So I was given probably the most Ebola peace of technology I have ever held. It's an Archos 101 internet tablet from 2012. Outside it doesn't look to bad, nice big touch screen, full sized usb port, sd card slot, mini HDMI. but it has no android store, and the OS is kinda sluggish. I was wondering if i could get any steps or advice onto how I would go about installing the latest version of Lollipop on it, or at least the google play store, or maybe even windows 10 tablet os or Linux. -
So a while ago (and I mean a while ago) I had to get my oneplus one RMAed by Oneplus. this was easily the worst experience of my life. Now I have a new phone, but I've noticed something odd. On my last phone, I was able to upgrade to Cyanogen Mod 12. I don't know if it was an official update, or if something happened and I managed to accidentally install a rom, but I was running CM12 and I really liked the layout of everything. Now I'm running kitkat (4.4.4) on my replacement device, and I can't seem to update to lollipop again. and I swear, I was on lollipop. I could tap on the android version a bunch and it would let me play flappy bird with lollipops and the cyanogen mod mascot. When I click on "search for update" it says that my device is up to date. I was wondering if any Oneplus One users out there could give me a hand, as everyone on the Oneplus forums simply says "use the search" instead of actually offering any damn help. Thank you in advance for the replies.

So, I was having trouble using Sony's update center to update my Xperia Z1 compact to Android 5.0.2, so I used Sony PC companion to attempt this. Everything seemed to be going fine and dandy until the process froze towards the end (right after optimizing all my apps) and now I'm stuck with the black screen of death. Well, it's not totally black as the notification bar is there, and the holding down power buttons works. Everything else though is completely unresponsive. Does anyone know how I can reset this thing or get it working?

hello i am looking into the sony experia E4 smartphone, bundled with the smartband for what seems to be a bargain. after looking at phonearena's article sony seems to be unsure on whether they'll ship it with lollipop. so here are my two questions 1) are they going to ship it with lollipop 2) if they don't and i update it to lollipop via this lollipop-update post, will the smartband still be compatible with the phone? I am trying to paste the links but have had no joy so far so i've attached a txt with the links Lttlinks.txt

So after waiting for months to get the Android 5 Lollipop 5 upgrade that LG had promised for my G2, I contacted their customer support and got this response: LG had previously said they would provide an update, and why not, the G2 is no slouch, with a Snapdragon 800 and 2GB RAM. It was the top of the range phone when it was released in September 2013. Yet 18 months later and its now at its end. I certainly won't be buying another LG, I hope that other manufacturers at least stick to what they say. Do you know of any other high-end phones which won't get the update?

So ive been really lazy and havent taken any action even though lollipop is available for my phone (sprint lg g3 (ls990)) but since im rooted I cant take the OTA (i think.). So I'm relatively new to the android game and to my knowledge I have to flash the OTA. I have TWRP recovery installed so thats not a problem, and I'm fully rooted. I was looking around and I think I found what I need. I think I just download this zip and flash it with TWRP and reboot and bam I'm on lollipop but I want to make sure that I'm not going to screw something up and brick the hell out of my phone. As of now I'm on 4.4.2 on the ZV4. Here is the link to the .zip ROM forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/development/stockzv8lodexed-t3030795 Can I flash straight into this ZV8 lollipop or do I have to go to zv6 first? It mentions something about the modem not being backwards compatible...? This will keep root for me? I will lose my stuff right? TL;DR: rooted ls990 with zv4 - can i flash the zip on the link above with twrp?
