Hi all, I have a laptop which work let me keep when we moved over to new laptops. Admittedly i think it was just a nice IT guy as opposed to company policy. However, the laptop is bios locked, initially I managed to boot it from usb windows media, and reinstalled windows, removing all partitions (bitlocker was mentioned during this part). Now when I turn on the laptop it takes me to a corporate login page, seems like initial set up of a corporate laptop. I am wondering if I replace the SSD if this will solve the issues and I can reinstall windows on it then? I’ve also read that if I use the new ssd in this machine it will be locked to that machine? I believe the Bios lock is going to be impossible to remove. Happy to answer any questions.

I have a Samsung 850 EVO 500gb 2.5" that's locked and is being stubborn at all my attempts to unlock it. I have tried, 1) Sedutil, drive is non-opal compliant eventho tht shouldn't be the case, so I can't continue there. 2) hdparm, I cant disable or unlock the drive since idk its password. 3) parted magic, successfully wiped the drive but encryption was still there, unlocker fail at reseting its psid. 4) samsung magician, was useless af. Couldnt secure erase the drive and couldn't psid reset it. I am running out of ideas so any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Idc about the data in it, I just want it functioning.

Hello guys, Yesterday I started building a PC for myself. It is my first time building but I read a lot of stuff and watched a lot of videos. Anyway when I started with the build I went first like usual - to place the CPU in the motherboard. I have Asus B450-F Gaming II and Ryzen 5 3600. Unfortunately when I pulled the pin for the locking backwards (to unlock) I accidentally pulled too much or too hard (I kinda expected it to go 180o) and a part of the plastic broke... then the rest of it. I am pretty emberraced to explain in details all my decision making when the panic mode hit me so I'll skip that. Right now I can't lock the CPU to the motherboard and I am told my some tech guys I visitted you can't replace it because "nobody is stupid enough to break that part so there is no spare parts like that one"... Well I am wondering if I find another motherboard with socket AM4 the locking mechanism on pictures look the same on all of them right? So it is only the plastic that is broken but I can replace it by pinching it back (doesn't seem that hard work) that should fix it ???? TLDL; I just want to be sure if anyone can confirm do all AM4 motherboards have the same locks for the CPU?

I have an iPad 2 and it is stuck in activation lock. Tried at least 10 different online YT "bypass" methods and none works. Do you guys have any idea if any legit one even exists? If so, can you link it?

Long story short I put thread locker on the wrong screws on my laptop and couldn't get them out and went to a guy that did. While I am waiting for a new case I put the screws back and they had some thread locker left on them. Will the thread locker still have effect when taking the screws out again?

So here's the deal, I am currently living in the US but studying at university in England. I have enough money to buy a PS4 in the US but I don't want to deal with any region problems as my whole family will be permanently moving to England within a year. I've tried doing some research but it seems people are all over the place with region locks, PSN stuff etc. I just want to know if I buy a PS4 in the US, will it have any problems when being used in the UK? Can I buy games in the UK and have them work fine on the US PS4 or what? I know you have to create different PSN accounts for different regions which frankly is absolutely stupid seeing as Xbox can just change easily without any issues but I digress...Since I will be living in England for the foreseeable future should I create my PSN account with a UK region or US? Should I just wait until I am in England? Can US games work with a UK PSN account? Any help would be fantastic, thanks!

So I have a 3DS I bought in England but for the summer I will be in the US. I am interested in some old DSi games from my childhood but I can't be sure if they will be compatible with the foreign 3DS. I know they are compatible but I don't know if there is a region lock on any of them or a region lock for the 3DS. The specific games are Custom Robo Arena and Super Mario 64 DS, these were two defining games of my early childhood with the DS and I would love to relive that. Any help would be great, thanks!

Is it possible to have it so my laptop does not lock when it is on a trusted network, such as my home, parents, etc? I know cellphones have this feature, or if they are connected to a certain Bluetooth device, the phone will not ask for the password. I was hoping my laptop would be able to do this as well.

My desktop has started "locking up" by which I mean, everything freezes except the mouse pointer (although I am unable to click on anything or even bring up the task manager). This seems to happen when trying to close programs/windows, and the only way to get rid of it is to restart the computer. I am running the latest version of windows 10, just updated with the big security patch. Can anyone suggest what might be going on/causing this, or even how to go about troubleshooting it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I bought an old 360 Slim at a garage sale. I then switched out the hard drive and downloaded my gamer tag to find that the privacy and online settings were locked to teen by the parents who set it up for their kids who are now in college. The parents can't remember the password and it's tied to an email they also don't know the password of. For some reason the email is gmail even though I think you need a Microsoft email to make an Xbox account. Anyone know how to completely wipe an Xbox 360. 100%. Until then I can't purchase any games or do most of anything. Thanks Microsoft!

Hi guys! I use this website g2a often to get games cheaper. I wanted to get Call of Duty Infinite Warfare for PC. G2A has a great deal, but it says EU on it. I live in the United States. This is the link: https://www.g2a.com/call-of-duty-infinite-warfare-steam-cd-key-eu.html On it, it says that I definitely cant play it in the US. But, G2A almost always has a USA or Global copy of games, why doesnt this one have it this time. Also, all over the internet people are saying that it will work if it is from the EU and you try it in the US. Do you think that this game will work in America? Thanks.

So I keep looking at keyboard reviews (cause they're cool) and I keep seeing the 'windows lock key' on a lot of keyboards. What does this 'Windows lock key' do? Why is it there?

There's probably someone out here that knows about this but instead of surfing through many websites that are wayyy too detailed, I decided to make an account on this. So my question is, when you buy a mobile phone from a network provider like EE (in the UK) your phone that you buy is locked to that network, so you can't get a new simcard into it unless you pay to have it unlocked. How does this lock work? Is it a hardware boundary or is completely controlled by software in your phone? Thanks in advance. xxx

Hi, Just built and installed windows 10 on new ryzen system. I know it's a new architecture and everything so I figured it would be finicky to start with without any updates. I get random freezes and bsod (clock watchdog error) when I fresh installed windows. I updated bios via ez flash downloaded from 2nd pc. I still get the freezes. I read more posts online suggesting to update to new windows creator update. So I downloaded the updater and proceeded to install it on my new pc. Problem is that it keeps going bsod in the middle of the update and keeps doing so. Is there a downloadable windows 10 iso file that has pre-installed updates? Thanks.

Hello all! Currently using a prebuilt-transplant as my main PC, that I put together at the start of quarantine after buying an old rig from a friend. It's the guts of an HP with a 4th gen i7, and then a beefed up PSU and GTX 1080. It has served me well, but in the last month or so I have noticed an odd hitch - Windows seems to freeze/lock up for about 15-20 seconds at random intervals, most commonly around 5 minutes after waking up from sleep (right as I get back to work) or after being on for multiple hours. Temps appear fine, I don't think it's a power draw issue because it happens while at idle for the most part (well, web browser open, but you get the gist.) It's really stumped me! Happens almost without fail now, around 5 minutes after waking from sleep. It's not the end of the world on it's own, buttt I was hoping to sell the machine soon and go Ryzen 4000/RTX 3080, but obviously don't want to sell someone a machine with a weird issue and so I want to nail it down.

I've got a laptop with a 7 3750H and a GTX 1650 and whenever I take it to play some splitscreen BO3 with friends or just play alone for some time the laptop locks and turns off as if the battery has ended. I don't exactly know why this happens, possibly due to overheating I'm guessing, I dont think it's the GPU, maybe the CPU immediately turns off when it hits 80 degrees? One time the laptop shut off, I saw the last recorded temp was 79. Its an HP 15-ec0000nx. I dont know if I can go into the BIOS and like change the value at which CPU turns off? or do I enable power saving so the CPU doesnt work at full load? BTW CPU almost always runs at 100% when gaming, does that contribute to the problem? Any help would be very appreciated, thank you all.

Hello, I had recently upgraded my 5+ yr bronze psu to a 80+ gold one (maybe like 2-3 months ago). I also bought a used gpu at around the same time and I installed both at the same time. About a month ago, I started having issues with my pc of getting freezes and locks randomly and screen turns black. My tower however is still on (I can see all the LEDs and fans are still working). I tried to turn it off by holding the power button but it doesn't turn off, so I would have to switch my psu off to turn the pc off and start again. This black-screen-to-nothing-while-tower-is-on issue also happens when I restart my pc. So basically for any windows update I would have to shutdown and power on instead of just clicking restart. I thought it was the gpu so I put my old one back but it still happened. I thought it was a drive issue so I bought a new ssd and fresh installed windows. Still nothing. So I had problem with the power not working on the case, gpu black screen and drives. I gave up for a few weeks, but I did more thinking and realized that the psu can be the cause since it's connected to all of them. I denied at first since it's new, but i had to try. I put my old 5 yr old psu back and see. My pc now restarts perfectly! Issue now is that I still get random freezes when I'm barely navigating through folders. But no black screen, just non-responsive. I'm thinking maybe my old psu is just old, but it never gave me problems before, so now I'm just stuck. My question is this. Could the newer psu that failed have damaged other parts like the mobo or ssd or gpu? Does it seem like I just need a new psu that's not defective? Keep in mind that the fail psu was in my system for about 2-3 months. Before anyone asks, I updated my bios and installed windows updates already. I'm at a loss so please, if anyone have may insights, it would be greatly appreciated. I would certainly hope not to have to buy a whole new system since my pc is only a year old, but if I do, it'd be nice to know before black friday/cyber Monday. My system: Ryzen 5 1600x Asrock ab350m pro4 Corsair vengeance led 3200 mhz Gtx 970 Define mini c tg. I know it's a long post, but I just wanted to be detailed so I could get the best possible help. I could. Thanks in advance.

Hello, my name is Tom. I'm new to this forum and since I didn't get any replies on the forum website I was on before I thought I'd try this one. I'l post the progress from the previous forum here. I hope you can help me. message 1: I have a problem with my computer (specs are in my bio) At first my computer kept black screening and freezing after 20 minutes or so in Kerbal Space Program. But I tried to fix it and nothing helped. I came back after an hour or so and my computer now crashed after 10 minutes in windows it self with nothing open. Now I'll keep it short, the time it took to crash kept shortening to where it now even crashes in the bios screen. I don't know what it could be as i've been using this computer in these exact specs for about 2/3 years. With black screen I mean that my monitors both say that they are going into standby mode. O and also after my computer has been on the black screen for a bit all my system fan's speed up and my blue lights in my keyboard turn off. If anyone can help me that would be really appreciated! Edit:I want to mention it is a pretty warm day and it’s around 28 degrees Celcius in my room. I did look at the temperatures of my computer beforehand but the cpu and gpu never got above 60 Degrees Celcius but maybe the motherboard did but I don’t know. Message 2: Can anyone help me, my computer worked again for a week after reseating the ram but now it doesn’t even work after reseating it. Message 3: Maybe the Tuesday's are just cursed. Message 4: Okey...... it just started working again at around the same time it did exactly 1 week ago........ Can someone please help me with my cursed computer..... kinda scared guys XD. Response 1: Tomjoppe28, download and run Seatools and test your HDD. It will let you know what state it is in. Message 5: Since it also crashes in the bios I don’t believe it is my ssd but I will check, thanks for the help! Message 6: Okay, it just crashed again! On another Tuesday this is getting weird. Last Tuesday it did work. But 3 Tuesdays it has crashed and it can’t start up again. I'm questioning the motherboard and the power supply but since it only does it on Tuesdays I'm not. I don't want to spend a lot of money on part's since I don't have much money.
