Hello! I am a gamer like I am sure a lot of members of this forum are. I play games such as battlefield, league of legends, rainbow 6 siege. A couple of days ago we had our internet go out in our house, and ever since we have been having weird internet issues. All of the games I play have had ping/latency increase anywhere from 15-20ms. Also, when we run speed tests (tested on multiple devices), it is finding our default location (based off of ping) to be somewhere in Kansas. I am aware that some ISPs have locations in these areas and it could be what is causing this issue, but when I run a check on my location using our IP address, it gives us the correct location. Speed tests are not the only issue, where as the typical chat services I use are detecting my location to be in south/central US region (I am in Ohio). Also, when I ran a traceroute to my typical game server IPs with help from a rep at riot games, we found that my home connection was awesome; however, there were nodes causing extreme packet loss and high ping due to what we believe is improper routing/pathing/node selection(that sounds about what they were telling me). I contacted my service provider and of course they are only able to tell me that my devices is working fine since the speeds are fine. Obviously my device is fine. I have changed regions manually in certain tests and the results came back normal. I am not a networking expert, but for some reason in ALL of my games there seems to be an issue with the nodes/routes selected to reach the server, all going back to finding the incorrect location. Not sure why all of the sudden we are having these issues, but it is annoying to constantly find new ways in which this is messing my internet/gaming experience up in some way or another. My ISP is Time Warner Cable(Spectrum). I am not able to switch ISP. They have attempted to "reset my connection" and "refresh my modem's settings" among other things. None have helped. I have flushed DNS. I have cleared my host's cache. I do not have a VPN. Also, about any other response that I get has not led to a solution. The representative at Riot believes that this is on my ISP's end, but again I am no expert. I am not sure how cable internet works, but when attempting to rescue the internet after it went out, we found an ethernet cord coming from our modem/router and not connecting to anything. We were not sure if this was ever even connected to anything and it is highly unlikely that it became disconnected (since the way our cables are managed). We decided anyways to plug the cable into our cable box(the only similarly branded device with an ethernet port), and all of the sudden the internet began to work. We do not know if it is because of what we did, and we do not know if it was necessary or if it is causing our issues. When we have tried disconnecting the cable again and restarting the modem, we are incapable of getting internet access. Not sure if any of that last part is irrelevant, but I am attempting to provide as much info as possible. Hopefully someone can help me resolve my issue. Thanks!

Alright, so I'm trying to make an android location app in Android Studio in which the user presses a button and the longitude and latitude of their location is displayed in 2 text views below. The problem I'm having is that I don't really know how to print the coordinates to the textviews on a button press. public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity { private LocationListener locationListener; private LocationManager locationManager; private TextView latText; private TextView longText; private Button requestButton; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main); requestButton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.requestButton); latText = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.latText); longText = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.longText); LocationManager locationManager = (LocationManager) this.getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE); LocationListener locationListener = new LocationListener() { @Override public void onLocationChanged(Location location) { makeUseOfNewLocation(location); } @Override public void onStatusChanged(String provider, int status, Bundle extras) { } @Override public void onProviderEnabled(String provider) { } @Override public void onProviderDisabled(String provider) { } }; }; locationManager.requestLocationUpdates(LocationManager.NETWORK_PROVIDER, 0, 0, locationListener); } } Here's the code (there are some errors in the code I think but it's like 4am so ill fix it later), most of which is from here (https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/location/strategies.html), as I'm trying to understand how this will work. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

Hello. So my SSD has a very limited space and I don't want to install my browser on it. Unfortunately Google chrome ALWAYS installs in C disk. Same goes for a few more programs. Is there any way to change the directory to D or something? I tried this, but it doesn't seem to work for me... (tried twice) http://smallbusiness.chron.com/change-installation-path-google-chrome-42689.html

Hey all, I'll be going on vacation in a few weeks, making a 7 hour trip. My car doesn't have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and I'd like to use my iPhone SE for GPS and traffic monitoring. I have a phone mount that hooks to my air vent, so I can see the screen whatever phone I put into there. However, I was wondering what would be the best day to maintain the iPhone battery life. Would it be better to: 1) Use the iPhone SE hooked up to a car mount while using an app like Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps with the screen always on 2) Use the iPhone SE as a Personal HotSpot and use an older phone I have as the GPS. I have an LG Leon that I wiped, so it doesn't have anything extra running on it. I guess it comes down to whether my battery will last longer as a HotSpot or if the screen on/GPS on will be better. Any input or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

This might be a simple question for some of you out there; at least, that's my current hope. I'm currently attempting to lead Nextcloud to recognize my EXT4-formated eternal hard drive, so that I can have space to host content for my members. In the "Configuration" slot, I'm assuming they're asking for the disk's mount point, but I'm too new to Linux to understand how to find it correctly. I simply put </mnt> in, and it accepted it. In the content area of the site, I am able to see a folder with the correct folders. However, when I click on them to see what is inside, they're all empty. I'm not sure how to have the content visible and having it "streamed" (for lack of a better term) straight from the hard drive. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do? Thanks in advance

So, this may seem like a really stupid question . I'm new to VPN's, Bought one today (Using the LMG link of course!) due to my ISP emailing me, making sure I knew, that they knew, what i was doing, and how much i was "downloading" (I stream twitch a lot, youtube etc) And it's in the hundreds of gigabytes. Now, if i search my ip, or a whois, the VPN is working perfectly. However, If i go into google maps, and do a gps search from "my location" It knows exactly where I am. How can this be?

Hello guys, I am new user of OpenVPN. I have a question regarding Tracing from google, it can guess whats my main language and when I type "whats my location" it shows my real place. My main task is to solve this problem. Here is my setup : VPS server in Netherlands with Ubuntu, configured OpenVPN server with all CA and etc. Local I have got Mikrotik Rb2011 main router with 192.168.1.1/24 , ESXI Server where I have 2 Virtual Machines ( Linux Ubuntu and Windows Server 2019 ( for Domain controller and file sharing ) ) . On Linux I have configured OpenVPN which connects to VPS in Netherlands and it works perfect, I have different IP. On Linux I have ens160 (192.168.1.76 network connected to Mikrotik) , ens192 (10.20.20.1 connected to Switch, which spreads network at office devices) + tun0 ( 10.10.10.2 ). On Win server I have also 2 adapters, 1 connected to Mikrotik and 2nd connected to Switch with 10.20.20.200 IP ( So it is domain controller for other devices ). Also Wifi devices are conneted to this Switch so Mobiles also have Netherlands IP address. If I google "whats my location" from device which is connected to any VPN client on any location, it shows VPN's location. But If I google without VPN client, it shows my real location. Please suggest me what to do Top

Hi Guys, A good friend of mine is a reporter and somewhat unfortunately was sent to a not so safe area in the world (don't want to offend anyone, so not going to name the country). The government over there has been known to prosecute or simply imprison journalists and critics. Being a long time LTT fan I recommended her PIA. It has been working very well for me. She tested it out over there. IP-address location shows her in the country she connects to, so that works fine. But mapping services, Google maps, Bing maps still show her actual location. So now we're worried about how safe it is.

Hello Guys, I am currently looking at buying the Wharfedale diamond 9.1's and the SMSL SA50 amp to power them. And well i have a few questions you guys might be able to help me with: 1) Where is the best place to buy audio equipment like the ones previously mentioned above? I have been looking at amazon mainly and a few smaller stores and well amazon stock seems to be very limited when it comes to the speakers and for the amp they are okay but i was wondering if there is anywhere better to buy from inside of the UK? 2) I am pretty much dead set on the speakers i want but the amp is still up in the air so to speak, i am struggling to find an amp to power these speakers that also has a good reputration/reviews so i am wondering if you can help me with that? Unless the SMSL SA50 is fine for these speakers? As i will only be using them at my desk to listen to music and play games casually? Thanks with the help guys, appreciate it Coner

Hi all, I'm on a crossroad, or maybe on a tripleroad (or whatever) and would like your opinion. I'm wondering if I should change my location of my case, I currently have it like: But I might put it like: Because I really like my window mod and would like to look inside my case. However, my case (CM Cosmos II) takes up a lot of space... so my third option is a new case and I really like the Corsair Carbide air 540. What would you guys do? Cheers!

Today I bought the TP-Link AV500 Nano Powerline Adapter kit After plugging it in I wanted to check my speeds through speedtest.net and it detected that I was located in Ottawa....even though I'm in Mississauga....450 km away.... So i checked my location on google maps in the browser, same thing. OTTAWA ipLeak test : OTTAWA dnsleak test : OTTAWA Can someone explain this? I'm super paranoid that TP Link has some backdoor nonsense action thats routing my traffic through Canada's capital city more than 450km away update: it seems to be my router?
-
My IP address all of a sudden seems to be associated with a city more than 400km from me..... It's increased my latency and is quite noticible IPleaktest DNSleaktest Google Maps Speedtest all of these services show that im located in Ottawa even though im in Toronto I've already done a factory reset on my Netgear R7000 and powercycled the modem and router a few times but my internet still seems to be routed through Ottawa

I have my taskbar set to anchor on the left of my monitor (I only have one) and configured to auto-hide. I do this because I find on my 16:9 1080p monitor the extra vertical real-estate is awesome. Also after about a year of using it like this, I've gotten quite used to it. What your thoughts? Does anyone else do anything like this?

So where does it save the mods? I found a ram 3500 mod that is awesome but the truck is a featherweight and the interior isn't lining up to the exterior very well.
