Hi everyone, I hope you're fine Recently I noticed that my pc take too much time to load windows, here's a video to show you what I mean. This is weird because I upgraded to a Samsung 980 Pro 2TO (the newer version, without that bug thing), copy and paste speeds are amazing in windows. I disabled all the unnecessary apps on start up. Fast Startup is also disabled. I also tried to disconnect every peripheral but nothing changed. I also checked for boot order and it was my Samsung. Here's my config: CPU: Amd 3950x Mobo: Asus Tuf x570 gaming GPU: MSI 4090 Gaming Trio NVME: Samsung Pro 980 2TO PSU: MPG A1000G Sound card: FocUSrite Scarlett Solo 3Rd Gen From what you're seeing in the video, what could it be? We can agree that the bios loads fast but loading windows is slow right? Thanks! IMG_1570.MOV

Hi everyone, this is a continuation from another thread where I figured out that the problem isn't windows related but GPU driver, here's the first thread: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1518959-bios-load-fast-rtx-4090-driver-load-is-very-slow-black-screen-then-w10-appears-before-password/#comment-16034102 One day I noticed that my pc started to boot slower than usual, before it was 40 seconds (and windows is loaded) but now, it takes up to 1 minute and 7 seconds to load windows, after loading bios it stays black, so I thought maybe it's a gpu driver issue. With DDU I removed it (to upgrade to a newer one) and windows loaded after only 30 seconds (gpu driverless), so defenately a gpu driver issue. When I installed the newer driver it was back to 1m and 7 seconds (before it was only 40 seconds). I always download gpu drivers manually, not with geforce experience. Here's my pc config: CPU: Amd 3950x Mobo: Asus Tuf x570 gaming GPU: MSI 4090 Gaming Trio NVME: Samsung Pro 980 2TO PSU: MPG A1000G Sound card: FocUSrite Scarlett Solo 3Rd Gen EDIT: Fast Startup is disabled, I removed all the usb connected except the mouse and keyboard, I even removed some DP and HDMI from the gpu, nothing changed. Any idea what it could be? Does anyone saw something similar? and please, I know that a fresh windows install could correct this, but I would like to avoid deleting/reinstalling all my programs and android parameters, I would like to troubleshoot and understand the problem. Thanks everyone Final EDIT: I found the solution!

Hi, first post here. I'm at a loss quite honestly, I've been trying to troubleshoot this for a few days now and can't seem to remedy the issue. Problem: When loading into games, notably Halo: MCC and Rocket League, I have been experiencing incredibly awful stuttering at the very beginning of the matches (think first 5-10 seconds or so). After this period of time, the games overall run pretty smooth. The thing is, they haven't always played this way for me. I've only noticed it within the last week or so. I've tried messing with my OC profile, resetting to defaults, updating drivers, using CCleaner to clean system files and registry, and other solutions and have not come up with anything. If you have any idea what the cause of this could be I would greatly appreciate it. Some might think it's a result of the games but as I said, they didn't use to run this way and now I have two notable cases of the issue in different games. Specs are as follows: Intel Core i5 8600K @ 3.60GHz, also using Intel Boost from the BIOS so it actually sits around 4.1 GHz. Had it stable around 4.5 beforehand using CPU Ratio. MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3000MHz RAM (2x8 GB), XMP enabled. ASUS Strix GTX 1080 8GB Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2 NVME SSD Seagate Barracuda 4 TB HDD (x7) USB 3.0 Expansion Card Cooler Master V550 PSU The only pieces I have added to my system recently are the 4TB Barracuda HDD and the USB Expansion Card if that matters.

I have an i7 8700 cpu. The load temperature has been drastically rising throughout the week. Normally my pc idles at 34-40 degrees with the occasional hiccup to 55 for a split second. Earlier this week it was 62 degrees now just launching minecraft sends my pc to 70 degrees for like 6-10 seconds before dropping down to 30-40 in game. The thermal paste was applied in october. This is the same regardless of the power profile that I set my pc on. Is this unnatural?

During loading screens my CPU temperature shoots up by a lot. On average in game -- the CPU is 40-50 degrees. However; Say I boot minecraft; and in the time it takes me to get to the minecraft start screen, the temperature had to be getting into the 80s before lowering back down. So what I did was lower down the VCORE 1.15. So temperatures now only get to 65/66 during loading. MSI afterburner tells me the cpu is using 70-100 watts of power during that time of loading. The TDP of the CPU says its 65 watts. I applied fresh thermal paste back in October. is there something going on with my CPU? My computer takes 30mins - 1hr to actually run properly. What I mean by that is, when I turn my computer on I get really low fps (30fps on league of legends) and my computer is slow and I struggle to play games or even load YouTube. But after a while it starts running smoothly again. In task manager nothing is using a bunch of assets so I don't know what causing this. All my drivers are updated aswell. I have had issues with my power supply before but I got a replacement via warranty (1 and half years ago). Specs: Windows 10 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti MOTHER BOARD: Z390 AUROS ELITE POWER SUPPLY: CORAIR RM 750 RAM: 3200MHz 32GB SSD: Samsung 970 EVO NVMe If anyone can help that would be amazing. I'm not and expert when it comes to computer but I know a bit.

Hi, IDK if anyone will know the answer to this but here is goes: earlier I was in one of my friends realms and I logged off. I tried re-joining and it got stuck at the loading terrain part. Note that when I try to join any other world it loads up very fast. Also, I tried joing on my phone, my PC and my Xbox. I have connected to an ethernet port and it still has troubble. I logged out when i was in a boat. Could that be a problem and is there any way to fix this? Thanks!

Hello, I am assuming this is the right area for this topic as I am troubleshooting for a way to fix this problem of mine - please don't click off! System Specifications: CPU: 3700x + Stock cooler Mobo: MSI Mpg Gaming Edge x570 (bios: 1.60, 06/11/2019) will be doing new one soon. Ram: Corsair Vengeance pro 3200mhz black GPU: MSI Ventus RTX 2070 Super Storage: 250gb (os) ssd - 1tb ssd, 3tb hdd & 1tb hdd PSU: Corsair rmx 750w (2018) 64x bit In the past couple of weeks I have been experiencing the blue loading circle what appears next to the mouse when a program in the background is in use (working etc) what I rarely see on my computer, this started to get more frequent as I went on each day to a point when it started to really annoy me. I started to question what was going on in the background to make this happen so I looked in task manager and McAfee Management service .... was using 2%>15% at a time what I was blown away by as my cpu is generally between 2% -10%, so, I uninstalled McAfee as I saw no possible way to lower it down (searched up etc, nothing) and my cpu usage went down to its normal state, however, blue loading screen was still appearing, I have then gone on wards to looking at programs like chrome and even a corrupted version of windows - I did this by scanning via 'cmd' etc and nothing came about - (same for chrome). I then started to count how long in between each time the blue circle appears - I counted it 10 times as testing and also done some more every now and then to double check results and it appears every 12 seconds no matter what I am doing! (e.g. using applications like discord etc) I am very confused on why this is happening, I guess it can be a windows update or a driver update. Please ask for additional information. Thanks in advance - sorry if I have missed something obvious, just started to get into computing + it is 01:24 in the morning - will respond tomorrow. (p.s. Should I get Bitdefender? - £19.99 1 year + 5 devices).

Now I have run CC cleaner and tried disabling IPv6 on NIC but no change , I will try setting a different DNS server next and let you know. my question is did anybody else wake up and find they had an web issue this morning or am I on my own(other isp users in uk comment also)

I have a lenovo laptop, IdeaPad 305. It has the lenovo EasyCamera built in. I also have a Logitech C920 webcam. On skype, when i try and use the lenovo webcam, it sits on the loading circle and never loads, however the camera works fine on the windows 10 camera app. The C920 works fine all the time. I've tried reinstalling the drivers for the webcam, and reinstalling skype. No luck. Any ideas anyone?

so, my best description of the problem would be that i power the computer on, everything seems normal untill the windows 10 logo comes on screen. it halts at the logo for 2-3 seconds and then powers off. no boot loop, nothing. i have reset both CPU and RAM overclocks, held the power button for a few seconds with the PSU off, swapped SATA ports for both my harddrives into evry possition. the only thing i have not done is reset the CMOS seeing as that would require about 4h of work of me takeing appart my loop so if anyone knows any fix to this issue thats not reseting the CMOS or doing a new install of windows that would be great. need a bunch of the files on the OS drive so i cant format it. can post specs if neccesairy but i cant say it feels like they would be needed. thanks for any replies and any help

I just updated my motherboard to a more expensive one. No error led or anything and it boots perfectly. BIOS and boot menu works. But it has been at that Windows 10 loading spinner for a while now. Do I need to completely reinstall Windows 10 or does it take 10+ minutes on first booting into Windows with new motherboard and same SSD/HDD? EDIT: Been running for about half an hour now and still loading screen .... The picture is the screen I am at and have been at with the thing spinning (you know what I mean)

Hello, I ran a malware bytes scan on the laptop and had to restart after due to having many potentially unwanted programs. When I proceeded to restart the computer was on "Getting windows ready" screen for a while. That is when the power chord unplugged and the computer turned off (My battery doesn't work). When I tried to turn it back on it was stuck on the loading screen; so I tried running start up repair. Now it is stuck on attempting repairs. What do I do? I would prefer to do a clean install because there are a lot of files on it that I do not want to lose. Thanks.

This is not really a question but just something i want to post here for people having problems with slow boot times of windows 10. I was just minding my own business and studying for my exams, till it was almost time for a good night rest! Windows 10 was complaining about updates so i was yea whyy not ?!! So windows 10 was updating and my computer was going to restart. I was waiting for my computer to come back on... and waiting ... okay well the updates really do take a long time ... ! My computer finally booted. i wanted to test if it really where the updates causing a slow boot. I turn my machine off and on again and..... it took about 9 minutes to boot up! what 9 minutes on a I7 6700 with 32 GB of RAM and a SDD where windows is installed on??!!!! Jup it took 9 minutes. i couldnt really believe that it took that long so i tested it again! And same story again!! i just couldnt believe it when it booted into windows i was tchecking my file explorer and i noticed something! my hard disk wasnt recognized anymore !? So i just opened my case and take a look to my hard drive ! and yea some way or another my power cable wasnt probably attached to my hdd! i plugged it in again and started my computer again and bam !!! windows took 20 seconds!! FOR PEOPLE WHO DONT WANT TO READ EVERYTHING: If windows is booting slow it could be a bad driver or a USB device that is causing the problem! it could also be a BIOS boot priorety problem! Or it could be just an update taking a long time (dont turn your computer off to quickly) BUT If you are sure that the device where your OS is on is fast and okay to go ! Usb is not causing any problem! well then lookout for other HDD's or SSD's cause they may extend your boot period for a long time, make sure they are propally connected! Could be with other faulty or bad connected hardware to ( like your RAM ) ! mister bassix out :-D (hope i can help some people) and sorry for bad spelling english isnt my native language !! ;-)

So I recently just built a gaming PC, its great at browsing and watching videos no problem but whenever I start a game with heavy loading such as World of Tanks it whines a whole lot shows the game screen then whines more and then the signal to my tv goes out but the sound of the game is still on in a constant loop and the hard drive resets like on boot and whines over and over again until i turn off the computer and turn it back on no signal or picture comes back onto my tv, basically I just want to know if it's my hard drive and if so do I just get a new one and should I got with another hard drive or a SSD? Which one would you recommend? Btw the hard drive is old from my other computer. Here's my system. Hi, I've been noticing occasionally GTA V (especially online but also happens offline so I know it's not just an internet/server issue) that the textures either vanish, don't load or take a few seconds to load in. I have an i5-6400, 32GB ram, GTX 980Ti, Asus Pro Gaming Z170 and an Asus PCIe wifi card which will be affecting how may lanes the GPU has I'm guessing. I have the game installed on a Samsung 840 EVO SSD and pretty much everything set to high, distance scaling etc is maxed, 2x msaa etc. I get between high 50s and high 70s usually depending on whether I'm in a busy area/moving quickly or stood still in a less busy area so frame rate is fairly okay but when I'm moving quickly like while driving then I get the texture issue sometimes making escaping cops or even driving difficult at times. Any ideas? Is it a CPU bottleneck (it's pinned to 100% most of the time and drops to maybe 95% at it's lowest)? SSD bottleneck? network or even GPU? I'm really not sure what's causing it specifically to know what to change to fix the problem. Any help would be great, thanks.

So I'm currently playing 2 games mainly - Hitman 2 and Mass Effect 2. The former on a Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm and the latter on a WD Enterprise edition 2TB 7200rpm. Everything was fine until I replaced my old mouse with a new Logitech G102 mouse (or at least the onset of problems coincided with that change) about halfway through these games. Here's what the problems look like: Hitman 2 > Almost every time the game autosaves (which is very frequently), or when I do a manual quick save and the moving barcode appears on bottom-right the game freezes for a few seconds, then resumes. The moving lines on the save animation also freeze in place, so its not just the in-game world that's freezing. This also happens whenever I 'discover' a new area within a game map, but I guess that's tied in to the save feature somehow because the discovered locations on the map carry over between saves. Besides this I've no other problem with the game. Mass Effect 2 > Firstly, the load times for each section/map/level take a lot of time. But its not consistent, some levels load very quickly (like they used to before the problems began) but some take forever. Even though they're of a similar size/composition as each other like for example the Normandy's 3rd & 4th levels from top (where Garrus & Grunt stay respectively). > There's also some momentary hitching/freezing in-game as I walk into doors. But quicksaving/manual saving in ME2 doesn't seem to cause any hitching or freezing whatsoever. So the issue in Hitman seems Write-related while ME2's problems seem more Read-related. I'm also playing some other games on the side like Civilization 6 and that game doesn't seem to exhibit any apparent problems. I've only started it after the problems with the other two games began and Civ6 does take a bit of time to load the world initially but I don't know if its abnormally long cuz like I said I didn't play it before. Things I've already tried: > Replaced the new mouse with the old one again, problems still there. > Flushed all the RGB/settings-control software that came with both mice, restarted. > Did file integrity checks for both games via Steam & Origin client tools respectively. > Error-checked both disk drives with Properties>Tools>Error Checking. Performed defragmentation on both, twice. What's most perplexing is that the two games are on two entirely separate HDDs. I'm out of ideas...help?

I have a Seagate Baracuda 2tb that I have had for a couple years. Recently it's been feeling super slow and I genuinely think something is wrong with it. It takes me a noticeably longer time to load into games and things compared to my friends when we do the exact same things. For example, loading a quest in Monster Hunter World. I'm always the last one to load, and sometimes I will still be loading even when I'm the first one to join. Also, it isn't the case of them having it on an SSD, a couple of my friends have the exact same hard drive. Other games where it takes a long time to load is Rainbow Six Siege, Battlefield 4 and some others. i7-7700k RTX 2070 16GB RAM

Hi, so I've been playing a lot of Fallout 4 to get revenge on the bald man who killed my husband and stole my baby to indulge in some Bethesda before Fallout 76 comes out, and I've noticed my loading times are quite long, at least to me. I noted down some times for when I was: a) Entering a building - such as Vault 81, Dugout Inn, and any other buildings that need a transition scene b) Exiting a building - for instance, exiting Vault 81 into the wasteland c) Fast Travelling - e.g Diamond City to Sanctuary Hills Entering a Building: (MM:SS) 1. 00:20 2. 00:15 3. 00:17 Exiting a Building: (MM:SS) 1. 00:46 2. 00:45 3. 00:42 Fast Travel: (MM:SS) 1. 00:23 2. 00:24 3. 00:19 Are these normal times for the different transition scenes, or is there something wrong with my game? Additional Notes: • 8600K @ 4.6GHz + 8GB RAM + GTX 1060 3GB + 250GB Samsung 850 EVO • Fallout 4 is on max settings 1080p • Locked framerate at 75FPS - 75Hz monitor • No mods installed • I have already verified integrity of game files through Steam • Fallout 4, Discord, and Spotify are open during gameplay • I've been to these locations before • I have a single SSD on my PC, where 100GB of storage is full from the 250GB total

Hello! I'm currently away at university, and I've been running into an issue with the WiFi for awhile now. Even now, when there's nobody here (I'm on the orientation team, and I arrived a day before everyone else), I can't load webpages. The strange thing is (at least to me) that if I can manage to load a webpage like YouTube, I can stream 1080p content with no issue, and my speed test returned excellent results. However, I usually have to try to load the page, try again, wait a couple minutes, and try a few more times before it finally goes through. Does anyone know why this may be, or if it's something that I can fix? Thanks!
