Last edited 2024.02.19 Cooler performance varies depending on the system. This list ranks coolers using generalized cooling performance from available benchmark results. Quality, aesthetics, acoustics, and ease of installation aren't accounted for. This is not a list of recommendations. A low tier cooler isn't necessarily bad nor a high tier cooler necessarily great. Assess what's appropriate depending on your needs. Coolers in Tier 1 generally perform better than coolers in Tier 2 and so on.. Coolers in the same tier don't necessarily perform the same. ˅ = Downdraft * = All-in-One Liquid ˀ = Based on few reviews Note: Ctrl + F is your friend. My main screen is 1440p 165hz and I might add a third monitor sometime in the future. This will replace my current gaming laptop. The GPU in the PC part picker list is just a placeholder as ideally I would find something used after the holidays (recommendations welcome). I would love some recommendation or advice to improve my list. Thanks! Budget (including currency): $1.5-$2k AUD Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Overwatch 2, fortnite, for honor, VR games aswell! Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Just quickly whipped a list together for a friend who plays pc quite often, also an avid VR gamer too, so need help/advice to make the list better or could make cheaper while still maintaining good performance. In no way an expert, but I do my research. Please give help where you can please! Much appreciated! Heres the list: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/VgRNfv

My roommate is going to be building a pc soon and he asked me to put together a list. Now I have some experience building pics but I usually come her to get some final opinions. He's going to be playing all sorts of newer games some examples Cyberpunk, COD, Battlefield, Modded Minecraft, ect. This is the list I have so far keeping in mind that some adjustments need to be made. We will be picking up a 3070 or 3080 when available... Maybe a 2080. He is however completely new at building PCs so I will be his life line. Any thoughts? Hello, everybody! As usual- apology if I am pasting this in the wrong forum, but from what I found this seems to be the place. I am trying to create a database that has two "main" tables of information- one containing the info of all the workers (name, occupation and so on, just basic info), and the other containing all the hardware the workplace poses- something like an inventory/log book with types, models and full (where applicable) specs of the machines (be they laptops, printers etc.). Along side this I wish there are a few "slave" tables with information about specific changes to X and Y machines. First of all I have never created actual databases only excel tables with different filters, conditional formatting and a few basics formulas here and there. I've been hitting my head against the wall for a few days now, trying to create an actual database. Currently using LibreOffice Base for it, but I am not sure how suitable this is. My end goal is something like this: The user loads up the database and he has two lists: of the workers and of the hardware- if he clicks a worker he sees all the hardware he poses and uses. And if he clicks a hardware he sees who posses it alongside some info/history of the machine- who used it before, what changes have been made to it and so on. As of right now I managed to create a database with single master- the hardware so when I click on a machine I see who uses it, but for the life of me I can't get it the other way around at the same time. Does my idea make any sense in the world of databases or should I rethink it from the ground up? Is a database really what I need here, or some other way of keeping track of it all would suffice? Is LibreOffice suitable for the task? Thank you all in advance, and sorry if I've used wrong terms/words and whatnot (English isn't my main language) or if it seems like I am looking for the easy way out. I've tried coming up with the answer myself, but at this point I am just stuck.

I just felt like listing everything I intend to do at some point both at work and at home so I could have a list. And I figured I would share that list with people because why not? I'll probably check them off as I go or something and update when I get a major one done. If I have time, forums threads will accompany them if they are cool and I think people will care. Note that what stops me for many of the home ones is money. Also ETC = Estimated Time of Completion, ETA = Estimated Time of Arrival. Note also that all ETA/ETC's are assuming I don't join the Air Force. If I do, then those will obviously change a lot. Some things probably won't even happen. We'll see (If I become a drone pilot, which is totally a thing, I can still live in Texas and have tons of free time, it just all depends on the job). Home projects (ordered by which will get done first, most likely): Start making PCB jewelry and such out of my heaps of circuit/motherboards to sell on itzy and other websites. (ETA: 5/16/2014; ETC: Eventually) This will feed the others and is relatively easy to start and spreads over a long period of time, so it's first. Finish setting up my FreeNAS server with my plugins and such. (ETC: 5/17/2014) This still hasn't been done because I've been busy. It honestly ties with #1, but I'd prefer to complete or at least start #1 first. Thus the order. All I need to do is install the OS and get the plugins to work. I've got to find a stable version though and that's proving difficult. Route Ethernet through the walls in my home. (ETC: 6/21-31/2014) Approximate cost $200 or so in total, I intend to have a patch panel with Cat 6A because future proofing and me having a FreeNAS server for backups and such means I need no bottlenecks. It will also add value to my house, I'm sure. Finish or fix all the renovations going on in my home. (ETC: 5/11/2015) This is something that my step-dad was doing. However, he stopped when my mom died (they were doing it together). Since then, little has been done and most of it is unfinished. I have most of the materials. I just need to have time to do it. This sort of ties with #5, but this doesn't require much monetary input, so this is more likely to happen sooner. Set up Solar Panels on my roof. (ETA/C: Eventually) This has some issues as I have trees EVERYWHERE where I live, so I'm either going to have to trim some, or find a different way or place to mount them, approximate costs are $16,000 but I expect to get some grants and stuff for it too from my local and state government as well as my electricity company. I'm seriously considering an unorthodox and strange looking setup, but at the same time, I don't want to do that. My house would look dumb, and future buyers might not be interested in something like that. Although I do entirely intend to bring my solar panels and thermostat with me if I do move. Work projects (I'm not doing ETA/ETC or descriptions for these because it's work): Finish re-arranging a file server to where all the drives are formatted to allow usage of their total storage capacity, since they are formatted in MBR and not GPT. Finish setting up Roaming Profiles within our Domain. Finish setting up our Ubuntu server to host services like Cacti, Nagios, our internal messaging server-client program, and the like. Upgrade file server in #1 to server grade hardware (it's consumer stuff aside from the HDD's currently). Clean our phone closet and arrange all wires neatly (this will take FOREVER). My Gaming PC specific Projects: Buy a Logitech G502 (ETA: 7/11/2014 I love this mouse so much. :D The only negatives for me is the lack of a pinky rest and the blue light (only option), but I use that to maneuver my mouse anyway and it kind of goes with white/black anyway respectively. I may sell my current mouse to make up the difference to get this one anyway. I also decided some time ago that my next/final mouse would be a Logitech one after I watched a video of one of their engineers explaining the intricacies of Mice designing. Buy a new keyboard (after completing the review/in depth look at my current one) (ETA: 9/11/2014) I'm not sure what I'm going with after this. I only know it will be black or brown switches, full keyboard layout and will have macros. We'll see. I'll update this as I decide. Purchase another reference 290X or sell my current one and get a 295X2 if possible. (ETA: 11/11/2014) Preparing for 4K, and future watercooling. Watercool all the things (ETA: When finances allow) This one is going to take a while. I know what parts I want, how they are going to be set up, and everything, but hey, it's costly to water cool. And that's just counting those 3 categories. I have many more. This is why I'm so busy. :( So many things going on at once *sigh*.

Hi, this is my first post here. I am trying to build a mid-range yet beefy gaming rig, the only other useage I would have is simple office work, maybe Canva at a stretch. I live in Canada so there are some shipping restraints from some companies (also CAD). My budget was 1.5k but that seems to have gotten out of control as my current parts list is at 2k. I am upgrading this from a non-gaming Lenovo laptop who's only redeeming quality is it's 12gb of RAM. My list rn is: i5 12600k: Best buy $324 B660 MSI pro wifi m-atx (size doesn't matter it was the cheapest): B&H $188 Samsung 980 SSD 500gb M.2: Amazon $75 Corsair icue 220t airflow case: Amazon $125 Corsair Vengeance lpx 3600mhz 16gb RAM: Best Buy $90 Seasonic focus PSU 750W gold full-mod: Newegg $110 Asus rtx2060 oc dual-fan: Amazon $580 Windows 11 home usb key: Amazon $124 I'm looking for a second opinion, and if you have any thoughts on how to spend less for a nonexistent to minimal performance loss then please share, thanks!

Hi, I'm currently looking for a good AMD CPU list other than the official list provided by AMD.com. Okay, so far, what I get from AMD website: - I need to get information. All the details of the CPU such as speed, cache, and many more. AMD only provide more recent processor in their website and it is hard to get information about old processor (Richland and before). - Their list is a bit confusing. Some of the information are not even clear. For example, they don't list how many PCIe 4.0 lanes their 3rd Gen Ryzen Threadripper has or can handle, but they do list in their 3rd Gen Ryzen CPU which is PCIe Gen 4 x16 (but we know it is 24 lanes if include 4 lanes for the NVMe and 4 lanes for uplink and downlink to the chipset). - They don't list L1 cache for a few of their processors (the latest Ryzen 4000 series APU for mobile) - Can't find AMD A10 APU 5750M processor specification in the list. - Release date is very vague and inconsistent. You got a release date of Q1 2019 for Ryzen 3000 mobile APU, but 2nd of Mar 2019 for Ryzen desktop 1000 series CPU. - Some APU Graphic model only listed as AMD Radeon Graphics So far I found that Wikipedia, TechPowerUp, and PassMark (Unfortunately, I don't know how to obtain the list from CPUid.com, which provide the popular CPU-Z benchmark software), and many of the details are quite conflicting. For example: The Code Name for third gen Ryzen Threadripper listed in TechPowerUp is Matisse while Wikipedia is Castle Peak. Even their L1 Cache value is different (TechPowerUp listed Ryzen 5 3600 having 96kB L1 cache per core while Wikipedia listed as 64kB L1 cache per core that tallies with the official specs from AMD.com). So, anyone know which website has a more reliable and accurate information of AMD CPU and APU processors spec sheet? Regards, Chiyawa

Hi guys, so i'm quite curious about if my motherboard isn't in the QVL list of the ram's website. I'm getting ASRock X570 STEEL LEGEND WIFI AX AM4 AMD X570 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard and the ram is G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (For AMD Ryzen) Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin RGB DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C16D-16GTZN, will it cause any problem?

I want this Topic to be a little List for people who don't know which ATX Tower to choose or haven't decided yet (If there isn't already a Topic that's doing this) if someone can recommend a high quality ATX Tower regarding LED, modern design or other types, please write them in here for people who perhaps need a good case but haven't chosen one yet and instead of creating a new Topic, they can look some good ones up here

Hey everyone. I'm currently working on a university project and I have come up with a slight snag with my code. I've looked on StackOverflow and MSDN, but they don't explain it clear enough for me (first time coding C#). i was wondering if you could help. As the title suggests, i have a list from an array and I need to remove duplicate elements from the list, but I am NOT allowed to use LINQ (Which is stupid imo...). I can't post the entire code as its to be assessed, but any help would be appreciated. for (int i = 0; i < splitData.Length; i++) { inputText = splitData[i]; Console.WriteLine(splitData[i]); if (inputText != "") { rawDataBox.AppendText(inputText); rawDataBox.AppendText(Environment.NewLine); } } for (int i = 0; i <= splitData.Length; i++) { if (i == 6) { customerID.Add(splitData[i]); int listSize; listSize = customerID.Count; inputText = splitData[i]; customerIDDisplay.AppendText(inputText); idcount.Text = Convert.ToString(listSize); Need to remove duplicates in the list "customerID". Thanks for any help provided.

(MLC) - Kingston HyperX Fury (Good read, mediocre write speeds) (SMLC) - Plextor M6S (Doesn't handle load very well, worse than MX100, but average performance) (MLC) - OCZ Trion 100 (Mediocre performance, slow as fuck writes, not recommended, the 150 is better) (19nm TLC) Tier 5: - Samsung 840 EVO (has issues with the cells wearing out quickly, don't buy used) (19nm TLC) - Kingston SSDNOW V300 (reviews are good, but sketchy shit pulled by Kingston make this bad) (MLC) - Crucial BX200 (bad performance for the money, horrible latency and service times) (early TLC) - Kingston SSDNOW UV400 (mediocre performance, slow reads, go for something better) (early TLC) - OCZ TL100 (VERY SHIT performance, 94MB/s Seq Writes for fucks sake) (TLC) - ADATA SP550 (Trades blows with the BX200, a little faster and without the BX200's flaws, however APPARENTLY has cell drift like the 840 EVO as reported by @zMeul) (TLC) How I rate SSDs: Any requests for new SSDs to be added with proof or other SSDs to be changed with proof are welcome.
