I'm being tasked with learning more about an issue I've never heard of before, but it's for a client, and I can't get access to her computer before I have an answer. I know - tough spot. Here's how I heard it: This individual, let's call her Sarah. When Sarah gets an email with a Google Meet link, she will sometimes be forwarded to the wrong page, a certain older Google Meet, even though the links are different. This also has happened, she claims, with Google Forms links. I've never heard of this, and I'm having a hard time finding any hints googling about it. She uses Safari on MacOS 13.x, and this is through Gmail. I'm sure she's never done any browser maintenance, and my first thought is to just clear her cache and cookies, but that's a rough solution for this type of person, for the number of things she'd have to log in to again. Any hints would be helpful.

I’m lost. for the past few days I’ve troubleshooting none stop. Corsair makes a ticket and doesn’t reply afterwards. long story short: I’ve invested in the new iCue Link ecosystem. I changed all my fans plug everywhere, rewire everything. And it’s beautiful. For about an hour or so. the first time it malfunctioned I power cycled my pc and it worked again. Fans were spinning and rgb was working. Next day I power on my pc and nothing. Fans are not spinning and no rgb expect for the strimers I installed on my gpu and mobo and my ram. I power cycle yet again and my corsair fans are spinning at a fixed slow speed. Whatever I do I’m not able to control my speed and my rgb doesn’t work. I reinstalled iCue software multiple times. Checked everything in my bios. Checked the wiring. I contacted Corsair but they honestly have no idea. They just create a “ticket” looking at the logs in signalRGB I can see the Corsair link controller keeps initializing. But that’s where it stops. I do think my controller is either bricked. Or just downright broken. does anyone have older firmware for the controller since force reinstalling the newest one does not help. am I the only one suffering from these issues? end of story. I invested over 400 euros in new fans to keep my pc silent and cool. But now I can’t even play games cause my pc can’t breathe since the fans barely spin. great product Corsair. And an even better customer service!

Hey all! I play D&d with friends a lot and I use some steam software (Dungeon Alchemist) to visualize maps etc. I have been able to do this on my Samsung TV through the steam link app up until now. Unfortunately Samsung is pulling the plug on that software in 2 weeks on all of their TVs. I can control everything by plugging the Bluetooth dongle for my wireless mouse and keyboard directly into my TV, and the steam link app recognizes them. (the TV itself does not, but as soon as I open the steam link app, they work). It wasn't perfect and it tended to bug a little bit but for my use case, it was enough. I only had to occasionally open different maps and walk through them a bit. Since the software does not support controllers, I have to use a kb and mouse combo. I tried connecting a Chromecast I borrowed from a friend and doing the same thing, however I noticed the Chromecast will just not recognize the input from my mouse and keyboard. I looked online and I found options to buy a seperate USB hub, put it between my TV and a chromecast, and that can SOMETIMES work. However, spending +- 100 euros on a 4k chromecast + a hub as a gamble sounds a bit rough to me. Keep in mind I don't need the chromecast for anything other than this specific use case, as my 4k samsung TV supports all other newest apps etc. Does anybody else have other suggestions, or ideas?? I know I could also buy an Nvidia shield (4k) but they are still VERY expensive (200+ euros here) and honestly I should just be able to stream to my TV (and be able to use wireless devices) without buying tons of hardware. Update: I also found the xiaomi Mi box S 2nd gen which should be able to do 4k streaming, however I don't know if it allows steam link and I don't know if it supports wireless kb and mouse. There is a USB port but I don't know if it supports kb and mouse I also don't know if it allows me to open my file explorer on pc to load different maps into Dungeon Alchemist. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I have a long history with computers dating back to when I was 10 years old in the late '90s. My earliest computer-building memory involves assembling a 486 DX-33, which I pieced together from components salvaged from various computers at an auction. I used to have a computer business but stopped doing computers about 15 years ago and due to working away from home only had Laptops since. The most recent computer I remember building was a 'barebones' system in the 2010s, featuring an FX-6100 processor, so fair to say I had doubts I would be able to build a new computer with the changes over the last 15 ytrs. For this build, I had a specific vision in mind — I wanted an all-white setup and planned to incorporate the new Corsair Link components. Since I mainly use my computer to play Fortnite with my 10yr old, I was aiming for a constant 165fps. I soon discovered that all components especially MB and GPU's with white accents were in short supply in Australia, which led to some changes in my parts list and some reflections on the process. Here's a breakdown of the components I used: Case: Corsair X4000D (Initially, I thought it used Link fans, but it turned out it didn't, and I wish I had chosen the Lian-Li 216 for this reason.) CPU: Ryzen 7700X (as there were no 7600X processors in stock) Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A Gaming (a bit overkill, but it was the only non-basic white-accented board available) RAM: Corsair Dominator 32GB 6000 CL36 GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 Aero with a Cooler Master 300mm riser extension (the only other choice for a 3-fan in white under $1000AUD was a Colorful 3060 ) Cooling: Corsair Link 120mm x4 fans and a Link 240mm AIO cooler HDD: WD_BLACK SN770 1TB PSU: Gigabyte 750W with white extensions Now, the negatives and the positives of the build: Negatives: -The Corsair 4000D case doesn't come with Link fans as I initially thought. -When I purchased the 240mm AIO cooler, the 360mm pack, and a single 120mm Link fan, I ended up with an extra controller and was one cable short, having to go back the next day to buy x1 cable -Corsair RAM sucks!, multiple times, ICUE didn't recognize one or all of the modules, (in terms of lighting) - Windows always recognized all. -Initially, I didn't consider using a PCI-E riser, but after a few days and seeing the spot in the case, I bought to a 300mm Cooler Master riser (no white 200mm in my state!). I found that the holes not lining up in the case so I had to create a support for it using foam. Positives: -The computer posted successfully on the first boot -It has an all-white aesthetic. In total, I ended up spending about $300 extra on Link fans and an upgraded motherboard, making the total cost approximately $2500 AUD. The best part was that I didn't encounter any major issues, and the computer posted successfully on the first attempt! **** Pics before and after riser install ****

so pretty much i like to animate and play Vr, so i downloaded blender and oculus link on my RTX 2060 and Everything worked great! Then about 3 months ago an issue arrised my oculus link would crash upon opening heres vid (https://youtu.be/7xyRfXlVB4E). and then i did some digging and figured out my GPU would spike to 100% then go back to normal and that would crash link. (in the vid when it does the freeze frame thing is when the GPU spikes). i dont know what is happening and would love really any input!

Hi, I've been using the Phanteks Evolv Shift X case for some time. It has a small X470-I motherboard and a 2700X processor so the number of PCIe lanes is limited. I have two M.2 NVMe disks so for the graphics card I stay X8 instead of X16. In the beginning I used the GTX 1080 Ti, now the RTX 3080. And that's all the time in the X8 and all in all, I don't notice any big drops in FPS (ignoring the CPU that currently limits the card). How is it with link width, is it not using even half PCIe speed most of the time?

I am trying to convert an html website into one made entirely of JavaScript and CSS. However, I am having trouble linking an image to a URL in JS. Here is the code I'm having trouble with: var a = document.createElement('a'); var img = document.createElement('img'); a.href = "Html.html"; img.appendChild = "a"; img.src = "logo.png"; img.title = "Daring Fireball: Home";; img.id = "logo"; img.alternate = "Daring Fireball" img.height = "56" img.href = "Html.html"; document.body.appendChild(img);

So apparently Corsair Link's best update to date has been to uninstall their own software! I received an update notification when I launched it to check liquid temps on my H100i V2. I accepted and proceeded with their wizard. The program closed, and I assumed all was well. When I restarted my PC, I noticed that the color I selected on the pump was back to default white. I looked for the program, with no trace. Even in the startup programs list in Ccleaner, and Task Manager. I then went to their website and attempted to find the Corsair Link software to reinstall. The download page gives an error in Chrome: "download Failed - No file" http://www.corsair.com/en-us/downloads Am I wrong, or is it just their download server that may be acting up? Have any of you experienced this as well?

I am getting a new NAS that supports Link Aggregation or teaming. I am getting a new switch the NETGEAR ProSAFE JGS524E 24-Port switch that supports Link Aggregation and I need a 2 port gigabit NIC that will work with my windows 10 computer so I can get fast transfer rates. I was wondering if this NIC will work with windows 10. If this NIC does not work or there is a better cheaper one I would appreciate a link. Thanks for your time. Let's say I am helping someone with building his new dream PC. Can any mod tell me if it is acceptable to link used parts on ebay as a method of help? Let's say a part list of used parts. A fully functioning PC with ebay links? Is that againsts CS because It says advertising. But I do not advertise it?

So I want to get the M1911 in BF3 (i know, old game, but whatever), and a lot of people say that you can get it by linking other bf games, including battlefieldfreetoplay, to your origin account. I have no idea how to do that tho. Any ideas, or any other way to get the m1911.

I'm thinking about getting the Corsair Commander, software looks okay and very nice when it comes to gathering information. You get a few temperature sensors which are also cool.. Then I do want the HD140 and HD120 fans which i can buy stand alone (no PWM pack) and i should be able to fully control them with the Commander. But, can i also use other fans on the Commander? let's say i find better looking/performing fans. Can i use them with Corsair Link/Commander

Source: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/facebook-ai-malicious-link-cloaking,35194.html Facebook announced that it's using AI to decloak malicious content that's masquerading as legitimate advertisements or web pages. These efforts are supposed to help the company make sure bad actors can't evade its reviewers' gazes to mislead or harm the billion-plus people who use its service. Cloaking works by showing Facebook reviewers one thing and displaying another to Facebook end users. The company provided an example in which a link took its reviewers to a recipe site, which doesn't violate its advertising policies or community guidelines, while sending its users to a page for "revolutionary diet pills." Those sites, as well as those for porn, muscle building scams, and other malicious content, do violate Facebook's rules. This creates a problem for Facebook. The company is expected to halt bad actors in their tracks, but it's hard to do that if those tracks are carefully covered. That's why Facebook decided to see behind the invisibility cloak, as it were, and to work with other companies to "find new ways to combat it and punish bad actors." In a blog post, Facebook explained how it improved its processes and how well those improvements have worked

Instead of having all these crazy sponsor links, why not create sub-domains or links for them? IE: Instead of Symless.com/Synergy/Linus29, why not create Synergy.LinusTechTips.com that forwards to the ridiculous one (or LinusTechTips.com/Synergy)?

So I see that the Steam Link is 70% off right now and I'm very tempted, playing Skyrim from the couch sounds great. The only controller I own is my Xbox One wireless controller (NOT the Xbox One S Bluetooth controller, the original Xbox One controller with the Windows dongle thing). I know that the controller can only be used wirelessly with the Steam link if I use some software called Virtualhere, but I'm hesitant to use it as it costs money and the reviews are meh. However, my question is: if I don't feel like using Virtualhere, could I just plug my Xbox One wireless controller (again, NOT the Xbox One S controller) into the Steam Link using a microUSB to USB cable, and just use it as if it was a wired controller? Would that work? Also, if anyone has experience with the Steam Link at all (particularly using it on a wireless network, as I will be) or with using Virtualhere, feel free to leave your opinions on them. Thanks!

Simply said, it will not detect my RAM and I cannot edit the Corsair Vengeance RGB DIMMs. I have a Gigabyte Z270 motherboard and RGBFusion. I've tried reinstalling, and nothing has changed.

First off, I'm not sure if I should have posted this under the 'programs' board, but since it's motherboard driver related, I felt like it would be more relevant to post here? Let me know if I should have posted it in programs just for future reference. :} Anyway: I might just be completely stupid, but would somebody be able to provide me the exact download link for AI Suite III (Win 10 64bit)? I've already checked https://www.asus.com/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-STRIX-Z270E-GAMING/helpdesk_download/, but it's either not there, or I'm just stupid. What's worse is that I managed to find it before, but after reformatting my computer, I can't find it. I think this might just be a case of me being antsy and it being right in front of me, but just in case, I was hoping somebody here could tell me which one to download, or give me the link. Thanks. Sorry for such a silly question. :}

Hello people of LinusTechTips forums.. I have a project i am working on currently and would like assistance with one 'small' thing. My objective is to have a 20Gb/sec link between each of my servers and my pc. I have just purchased an apple xserve and have an old pc to turn into an archive server. What i would like to know is if anyone has experience setting up infiniband on mac os, and if i should change to ubuntu server or whatever. I have little experience with enterprise networking but feel confident about setting my servers up and running them.

Hi! I want to make myself an easy to use workstation to work on PC's and other tech products. And I would like to have a network switch with a couple of ports to connect computers on it. I found this model from D-link. ( Link for the DLink Switch ) and this switch from TP-Link (Link for the TP Link switch) Don't think about the price difference I can find a price match if needed.(If you think about another model that is cheaper/more expensive don't hesitate to suggest) I would like to know what is the difference between them. I mean they look very similar looks like the have all the same specs. Is this the same product? Or is D-link and TP link the same thing? Thank you all for your time!

Hi, I'm new to the forum so i'm not sure if I posted in the right place. I have 2 threadripper pcs with an aorus x399 pro motherboard. The onboard lan is gigabit and I also have 2 pcie gigabit network cards from intel. If i go to ethernet adapter, the link speed is shown as 1 Gbps and I also have two 1 Gbps connections from my internet provider. The problem is that in speedtests and when transferring files through lan the speed is actually 100 mbps. The speed doesnt go above 10-12 MO/s. I tried with both, the onboard lan and the other network cards that I have. They all show 1 Gbps in adapter and in NIC settings in windows but the speeds are actually at 100. If i go into bios in the network adapter NIC settings, there isn't an option for 1 Gbps full-duplex, only up to 100 Mbps full-duplex. Can it be that it is a motherboard problem and it's limiting the speeds? There isn't any bios update and I don't know what else to do at this point. Cables are cat 6e, the switch is gigabit, the router gigabit, connection gigabit, I have tried with multiple equipments and I can't find the cause behind that setting in the mobo bios. Any help is highly appreciated!
