Hello, this is my summarized Home Network Diagram. Hardware Used: 1. Wiring - CAT6 UTP Cable with Closed Ended RJ45 (Self Crimped) from Fiber Modem to Router 2. 2. Fiber Modem (ONT) - Huawei EchoLife HG8245H with 4 Gigabit Port 3. Unmanaged Switch - Tenda SG105 (with 5 Gigabit Ports) - Connected via LAN 2 from Modem and Connected to Passive PoE LAN Port 4. Passive Gigabit PoE Injector and Splitter - Generic (see attached image)- PoE to PoE connection using CAT6 UTP around 60 meters length with some running on outdoor wall (far from powerlines and other electronics) 5. Router 2 (Upstairs Router) - Tenda AC23 - Gigabit WAN and LAN ports (AP Mode connected via WAN from Passive Gigabit PoE LAN port) Additional Hardware (No Issues) 6. Router 1 (Downstairs Router - besides Fiber Modem) - Tenda AC21 - Gigabit WAN and LAN ports (AP Mode connected via WAN from Modem) Issues: Configuration 1A - Current Setup. With my current setup, the link speed recognized by the Fiber Modem on LAN 2 is 100Mbps Full Duplex Mode. Connected to the Router 1, the speed test (using Ookla) reading (using 5GHz Connection via Android Phone) Exceeded 100Mbps, around 150Mbps+ (Internet limited plan to 100Mbps). Connected to the Router 2, the speed test (using 5GHz) does not exceed 100Mbps around 90Mbps at best. Configuration 1B - Current Setup after a Power Outage. Currently the Modem Reported 1000Mbps Full Duplex Mode (due to power outage, all routers restarted) but readings are still similar Configuration 2 - No Gigabit PoE With PoE injector and splitter remove, connected directly to Switch and Router 2 (still Port 2 and WAN) the Fiber Modem reports 100Mbps. Results are similar to the Configuration 1A. Configuration 3 - No Switch Connecting Router 2 (WAN Port) to Modem (LAN Port 2) via Straight CAT6 resulting to the router and modem disconnecting and connecting with a span of seconds (5 seconds at most) with link speed reporting between 10Mbps and 100Mbps Full Duplex Mode. But when the connection is stable at best it is reporting 10Mbps. Tried using Crossover CAT6 using Female to Female RJ45 and Additional Crossover CAT6 with less than 2meter length. Configuration 4 - Connected to Router 1 Connecting Router 2 (WAN Port) to Router 1 (LAN Port 2) via Straight CAT6 resulting to consistent connection with readings at best of around 9 Mbps. Assuming the link speed would be 10 Mbps. No Reporting of LAN Port link speed on the firmware. I would like to know some solutions to my network to use 1 Gbps link speeds for full capacity of the routers, as well as future proofing. Thank you for your help and responds.

Before moving my computer's download speed was fine, but after I moved locations and set-up my computer again, the download speed is less than 50 MB/s . For some background, the people in the home have no problems with the internet, and in fact when I take a speed test my download speed is the same as everyone else(I am hooked up to ethernet). When I try to download something it downloads significantly slow at the aforementioned speed. I factory reset my computer, I got a new SSD, reset CMOS, re-seated my ram, I also used a different ethernet cord just to see if it was the problem(it wasn't). I obviously think it's something to do with my computer itself, and I am thinking that the problem may be the motherboard itself, although I am hoping that it is not. If anyone else have any other ideas please let me know. I don't know what could have happened between the time I moved locations.

Hello, I was wondering how to unlock that power draw.. The PSU is not that crappy proprietary 80W stock Dell power supply. It is a new, standard and modular one. It is the Corsair SF450 which can supply 450W. The CPU draws 73W so that leaves a little power for the rest of the computer. Does anyone know how to do that?

Hello everyone! It's been many months now, maybe a year, and I still haven't solved this huge problem, then someone recommended this forum to me. Basically I have RAM with limited bandwidth, they are slow, I've tested other PCs and my RAM performs really bad in comparison, but, if I put them in another motherboard they performs well, so it's a problem with my motherboard in particular. My system Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X (BIOS version F10i) CPU: i9-9900KF stock, no OC. RAM: Ballistix Sport LT 3000 (2x8) , dual channel mode, timings are 15-16-16-35 at 1.35V. (XMP Profile 1 mode) This is the benchmark I did using AIDA64, which demonstrates the problem: (woah, huge screenshot sorry, I have 4K resolution) For some unknown reason they performs just like to 2400 mhz kit. This is XMP mode, BUT if I disable the XMP and run them to the default 2400 mhz, the memory read is 22.000 GB/s, just like DDR3 ram.... that's insane! What's wrong with my settings? Everything is stock on the BIOS, I haven't touched any settings, plus I've cleared CMOS countless times and reinstalled the BIOS a couple of times. Fun fact: If i try to OC the ram, they can't even reach 3600 mhz, but max 3500 mhz and the bandwidth is still too slow, plus they are unstable. If you're wondering that maybe the rams are defective, no, they have passed the test of OCCT, HCI MemTest 400%, and TestMem5 with Extreme1@anta777.cfg but only with XMP 3000 C15 , If I do for example 3200 with same timings they are immediately unstable. But I have no interest in OC, I just want to solve the limited bandwidth problem, which is really oppressing. Thank you all in advance for your time!

To be mentioned, I can only purchase the components from my local stores. That means I don't really have a lot of options when it comes to choosing some components. The site I will buy the components is this one: Componente PC la prețuri avantajoase în Moldova > DARWIN. I need help from you guys to tell me the best configuration possible on this budget and using local options. The config I came with is this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DDCkPX. Thanks in advance! P.S I don't need a SSD since I already have one. That is also the case for a Monitor and peripherals.

Hey there, I am having some serious issues with Networking right here and as a Steamer/YouTuber who has a 100 Hour stream coming up, this is the absolute worst. So let me explain to you what is going on. I live in a house with 2 floors, we have our Phone line on the Ground Floor, which is also where our WiFi modem resides, then on the first floor we have setup a WiFi-Router (TP-Link TL-WR1043ND) so we can also get connection on the top 2 floors. Now the TP-Link is connected via an ethernet cable to the Modem and because WiFi speeds on the 2nd floor were crap for streaming, I put down a 20 meter Cat 6 ethernet cable upstairs and connected that to a Smart Switch (TP-Link TL-SG108E). My internet speeds are fine now (on average 77Mb/s down and 20 Mb/s up) but we are having a lot of problems with both the Cable and WiFi giving some devices around the house a "Limited" connection. The Limited connection can just all of a sudden occur and only to a select few devices, whilst the others are running just fine. Because I am running a 2 PC setup with various consoles for my streams, this has become crazy frustrating and I cannot seem to find the reason why it keeps on saying Limited. I looked everywhere online, but the only solutions I could find were just for WiFi and not for problems with both and I don't know how many times I have pushed reset on my Router, but it is just not working. So hopefully anyone here is able to help me, because I am slowly getting more and more desperate here. If you need some more info, etc just ask away. Thanks. -Michel

Got myself a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 7567) Specs: I7-7700HQ GTX 1050 Ti 16 GB RAM I launched CSGO, checked my fps and found it was 150-200 fps with almost everything on highest at 1080p (which is what you'd expect from the hardware) BUT When I lowered the Graphics settings, turned off antialiasing, and I also changed the resolution (which generally should cause a huge increase in framerate) to 4:3 1024x(768..or something) --> MY FPS HAS STAYED THE SAME !!! Whereas in theory it should've increased at least 50 fps..... HALP? ANY opinions? Advice?

Hey all. Recently I've noticed the lovely yellow triangle has been bestowed upon my internet connection on my desktop at my apt. I've tried the usual. Unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back in, swap cables, etc. The apparatus in my room is a 4 port dock which, with which I've reset countless times and tried each port on. I've run all the cmd prompts usually associated with my problem to no avail. I just reset my machine with a new install of windows and that didn't even work. I'm at my wits end with this crap and I'm looking for some help. I'll copy and paste my ipconfig /all notes and such below. Thanks if you can help!

My laptop connects to my home Wi-Fi just fine, browsing normally, when suddenly all data transfer stops and it shows "limited connectivity". Disconnecting and reconnecting immediately to the same Wi-Fi resolves the issue for sometime. tried reinstalling windows 7, even bought a new wifi router, No change. tried updating the wifi driver, No change. i have two other laptops on the network and they face no issues, neither do the multiple smartphones or the smart tv. Kindly help.

I have post this kind of questions several times these frw days cuz I just want to fix it desperately. I just buy a used 1070ti mini, but the gpu usage is never maxed. The FPS remains about 80-100 in 1440p no matter it is low settings or high setting. The only difference is that, the gpu usage is 60% in low settings and is 90-99% in high settings lmao. The GPU-Z’ PerfCap reason says that, the gpu is limited by reliable voltage and power limits, but I am pretty sure that my psu can handle this. Here comes my specs: R5 1600@3.8Ghz Asus Prime B350 plus Zotac GTX1070ti mini Psu Cooler Master V650 I, myself have a not premiss that the single 8 pin power cable on 1070ti mini cannot handle the Power consumption of the 1070ti chipsets?

So I was just downloading the Crew what is free now in Uplay and that reminded me about the uplays downloading speed. It seems to be limited to 10 MB/s it was really bothering me is it Uplay or something in my computer, because my normal download speed in for example Steam is 80-70 MB/s. So is it limited or is there anything that I could do to fix it (I have set the speed in the settings to unlimited). And yes I have seen something to do with the proxy setting or something, but is there a easier method.

Hey guys, so I'm a yet another new Tech Youtuber and I'm testing out my style for the video reviews that I will make. Currently I have in the works a review of a Limited Edition Japanese Xbox that I bought in the country (with lotsa details, modding info and all that fun stuff) I wanted to make some tests to fine-tune the quality of my shots, so I fired up my C100 Mk2 to shoot up some beauty rolls, those are always important. I tried to follow who I think is the best on YouTube: MKBHD (with his 50k Red Weapon and 5k Cinema Glass...) and Brandon (with his led lights that cost hundreds and bokeh christmas lights). Make sure to subscribe to my channel for my upcoming videos, I'll do a lot of stuff shameless self-promoting, please don't ban and I really wanna know what do you think about this little snippet of video. Thanks! *Link removed*

Every once and a while, every device on my home network will be unable to connect to the internet. They will be able to connect to the router, but nothing on the Internet will load. On Windows, this is represented by a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark over the networking tray icon which is titled Limited Connectivity, or just Limited. By all devices, I mean devices over wifi and devices that are connected through ethernet to the router. Resetting the router or the modem does not fix the problem. The thing which I have discovered fixes the problem is disconnecting the router from the modem, and plugging my PC directly into the modem (through ethernet, of course). After I make sure the Internet connection then works, I plug my PC back into the router, and the router back into the modem. At the end of all of that, it's all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows back to normal. This leads me to believe that it has something to do with the distribution of LAN IP addresses. I suspect that somehow the IP addresses get messed up, and the network does not know how to route the data from the Internet to the devices. Once I replug the router into the modem, it has to redistribute all of the IP addresses. I'm quite sure that DHCP is on, and that it should automatically handle all of these addresses, but If anyone has any idea about why this is happening, or the steps to permanently resolve the issue that would be swell. Could it have anything to do with the large number of devices on the network?

First of all, my english isnt too good so dont be offended by any mistakes i might have made in this post. Hello, guys. I have a really frustrating problem with my desktop pc. Most of the times, when i try to connect to my local wifi, the internet speed in the whole house drops down to almost 0 , it gets very slow, and very difficult to use. eventually after reconnecting a few times, it starts "working properly" - i can play online games (but the ping randomly goes to 3s (not ms) and it just disconnects for around 15 s - after a few times this happens, my pc just disconnects from the wifi). When i try to browse the web/watch youtube/download a game, 90% of the time the internet speed will drop just as i described at the beginning. I have no idea why this happens, i tried almost everything, really. My network adapter is Asus PCE-N15. I have no idea how to fix this, I've been struggling for almost 4 months now and I just can't function properly. (Im writing this on my almost broken, old laptop, because my main pc is so retarded that it would take me 143215321 days to even load up google). I'm thinking it might be a network adapter's problem, but I've already tried 3 different models, and non of them worked, so idk. Please, help me ;-; Im using windows 10, but the same problem occured on windows 8.1. What's funny, is that 10% of the time, the internet works properly, the download speed on steam is around 3-4MB/s which is good and no one else in the house has any problems with the internet.

Hey guys, i need help with my wifi. my girlfriend has a new laptop, the asus ux303lb which has an intel wireless-ac 7265 wireless card. when i helped her install all of the new windows 8.1 updates, the wifi started to have problems. i expected this as i also had a windows 8.1 laptop which had wifi issues after updating but i managed to fix mine by running some code in command prompt. ill get to those code later. her problem is a bit different from mine. basically both of our laptops would connect to the wifi network however, it would not be able to connect to the internet and it would say it has limited connectivity. even after using windows wifi troubleshooting, no dice. for my laptop, i ran this code in command prompt as admin: netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled netsh int tcp show global this fixed my laptop for good, however when i do this on her laptop, it seems to work for a while but when i restart the computer for a few times, the problem comes back on her laptop. i have also reinstalled the driver of the wifi card by using the update driver in computer management and browsing my computer for drivers then installing the signed drivers from intel. the main problem is that her laptop will connect to the network immediately however it will not be able to access the internet and itll say limited connection but if you wait quite a while itll eventually be able to connect. is there anyway to fix this other than formating the computer? i know its due to the windows 8.1 update because it was working perfect before the updates

Hi! So 2 days ago my friend gave me his laptop, because his WiFi stopped working. I installed some antivirus software, I scanned the whole thing with malwarebytes anti malware, adwcleaner and such (it had a LOT of stuff to delete, the only thing he had on his laptop to protect it was Avast...) Then I wanted to try to fix the WiFi problem... And I pretty much died. I'm sitting here, playing with it since yesterday and I can't do anything. The card is listed to be Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, tried to connect to the internet via ethernet cable... Nothing worked. It just says that the connection is "Limited" (I don't know if Limited is the exact word showing up on english OS, I just translated it that way and I hope you understand what it is). Laptop is: Samsung NP550P7C-S04PL It is running on 64 bit Windows 8. Anyone can relate? Anyone had a problem like that? Is there any way to fix it without formatting the whole thing (which I'm gonna do if nothing works, it's actually gonna be better for the poor laptop used so irresponsible, but the thing is my friend has A LOT of personal stuff like photos, videos etc that he can't backup anywhere, because he doesn't have any external drives.)

Why am I doing this guide: I could not find anything else on the internet for this and I figured that someone else would have the same problem at some point so yeah. Setting the scene: A few weeks ago, I was sitting at a hotel with my HP Stream 14, trying to connect to their Wifi but every time i tried, it would always tell me that it was taking longer than usual to connect and then give up and tell me that the connection was "limited". I tried it with a USB Wifi dongle and that connected fine and then my laptop would connect and be fine but as soon as i took the dongle away, it would go back to "limited". I tried a new Wifi card but same result. The fix: Nuke the drivers. Don't just uninstall them from device manager. If they are there, uninstall them from programs and features. Then go back into device manager and "update the drivers" there. You will need to do every Wifi password again but it should work. Conclusion: I don't know if the problem is specific to HP stream 14s or of all HPs that use the same wifi card can get it but that is how i fixed it.
