  1. After seeing a few videos from Linus on streaming setup I decided top post this question here. My wife started a TikTok channel after the lockdown prevented her from pursing another business opportunity that was about to get off the ground. She is doing well with consistent growth and I've being buying hardware to support her channel. She records and edits on a Huawei P30 pro and doesn't want to edit on her MacBook Pro. I ordered a few things for her when she hit previous milestones and she is happy with her audio and tripods. Rode SmartLav+ w/ USB C to 3.5mm adapter Joby GripTight GorillaPod Stand PRO JOBY JB01550-BWW TelePod Mobile The main thing I want to upgrade now is her lighting. Sadly, we don't have the space for a dedicated recording area with box lights. The lighting needs to be easy to use and should not add significant delay to setup. As you can see in the photo, space is limited and she records from our dining room table. My computer is in the opposite corner. As she is about to hit another big milestone I'm looking to improve her lighting. I would like something small and easy to use. I've heard that the Elgato Air is good but they are £240 for a pair and I don't know how well they will work if the subject is farther away. I'm wondering if a ring light would be suitable. I've also seen that Chinese lanterns can be good but it seems difficult to get high CRI bulbs in the OK. As the content will be viewed on the phone, I don't think it requires the same level of hardware as 4k Youtube content. Does anyone have any suggestions? 2. Budget (including currency): Not important Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Web browsing/HD streaming, possibly some gaming. Other details: I currently have an Asus X-470 F Gaming motherboard, AMD Ryzen 2700X CPU, 32 GB G-Skill ram, Asus Vega 56 OC GPU, Corsair 850W PSU, and NZXT H510 Elite case. I'm looking for some help setting up my lighting scheme for my PC/desk. I'd like everything to be addressable LED's and controlled through the ASUS Aura Sync software. What I want to do is set up 4 fans (not sure which yet but I don't believe I can use the AER 2 fans that came with the case), 1 LED strip inside the case (30cm, 8-12 LEDS), 1 or 2 LED strips under the case (30cm, 8-12 LEDS each), 8 LED strips inside my desk drawers to be seen through the handle cutouts (20cm, 5-8 LEDS each), and lighting under the desktop and along the back of the desk (its a long desk so maybe 5 meters worth). Ultimately I would like to be able control all this lighting through the addressable LED header on the motherboard and through the ASUS aura sync software, but I'm afraid my project may be too ambitious. And I'm pretty sure I'll need an LED control box to run everything through so there is sufficient power. So here's where I'm lost......HOW?!?! I have some questions to get the conversation started but if anyone has a similar setup or has done something equally as elaborate with Asus Aura Sync or another lighting enviroment, I'd love to hear how you did it and see some pics if you have them. Supplies, where can I find them? I can easily find addressable led fans with control boxes (sometimes with one or two LED strips but they're usually too long for the case). But how or where do I find Addressable LED strips that I can cut and solder on new connectors. Where do I find the right connectors? Can/should I connect the desk lighting to a USB header instead and will that work with Aura Sync? If so, what are the limitations (i.e. wattage output or number of LED)s? If anyone has any experience connecting desk lighting to a mobo ecosystem I could use some help/advice. Thanks in advance.
  3. I'm running 6 Corsair LL120 fans inside of a Corsair 011 Dynamic case. All six fans are connected to a single Corsair RGB hub which is connected to Channel 1 on a 2 channel Corsair RGB controller. The fans run lighting in a random pattern during startup, and then the LEDs shut off once Windows is fully started. The only way they will stay lit is if I open and run iCue in the background and manually select a lighting profile. It's confusing, because I also have Dominator RAM which runs its default lighting profile from power-up without a problem. I understand that LEDs can act strangely during startup (my headphones, keyboard, and MoBo LEDs all light up different colors until Windows boots fully), but not defaulting to a profile afterwards is frustrating. For reference my setup is: OS: Win 10 Pro MoBo: Gigabyte Aorus X570 Wifi Elite; RGB = RGB Fusion 2.0 CPU: Ryzen 3900x GPU: Gigabyte Aorus 2080 Super 3x OC; RGB = RBG Fusion 2.0 RAM: 4x8GB Dominator DDR4 3600 (XMP); RGB = iCue HD: 1TB Samsung EVO NVME SSD, 2TB Inland NVME SSD, 2TB Barracuda 7200 HDD Other LED: 1x Addressed LED Strips (MoBo RBG1 Header); RGB = RGB Fusion 2.0 CPU Cooler: NZXT X63 360MM AIO (w/3 LL120s) (CPU OPT Header); RGB = NZXT CAM LED Fans: 6x Corsair LL120 -> 1 six port Corsair RGB Hub (SATA Power) -> Ch 1 of 2 on Corsair RGB Controller (SATA Power); 3x CPU FAN header/3x Sys Fan 1 Header; RGB = iCue Other Fans: 3x Noctua Redux 120 -> Sys Fan 2 header Keyboard: SteelSeries Apex 7 TKL; RGB = SteelSeries Engine Headphones: SteelSeries Arctic 5; RGB = SteelSeries Engine SteelSeries Engine, RGB Fusion 2.0, and NZXT CAM, and my Corsair RAM all go to the settings I programmed. iCue is sincerely frustrating me with these LL120s. Any help troubleshooting or with the settings on iCue would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hey Guys, I was looking at getting some addressable RGB fans for my rig. I have 2 aRGB headers and 2 regular RGB headers on my mobo. I've used the one aRGB header for 5050 LED strips and it's worked great. The issue I'm having is that it seems that all aRGB products have a 4 pin WIDTH header with a pin config of 1011 (pin-gap-pin-pin). Both the headers on my mobo are 3 pin width with a config of 111 (pin-pin-pin). How can I connect it? Will I have to make/buy an adapter? Thanks, akosin
  5. Ok so I have an older Mobo I am putting in a new case for someone they want RGB but the board lacks any onboard headers for such... I'm not really an RGB guy so I never looked for a controller that wasn't built into the board.. Is there any decent one that can plug into an internal USB 2.0 header to allow software RGB control for a generic case and fans?
  6. I have 12v 4-pin RGB headers on my motherboard, so I got this strip from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07YJLXTN4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 But the light is so bright, it lights up the room. I only wanted it to glow over my parts to add a bit of color, and I can't seem to dim it with software. It was also one of the shortest I could find on Amazon at 30cm, when I only really need <20cm. Could you recommend some lighting for just a subtle glow?
  7. Hey everyone so I recently upgraded the built in cooler in my Deepcool genome 1 as it's 4+ years old and Deepcool isn't considered the most reliable brand. But while swapping things over I noticed something werid. The front LEDs that would pulse periodically were actually connected to the water pump. I don't know if they receive power or if it was a sensor merely to tell the lights when to pulse. I mateched the cables by color and removed the unnecessary 2 cables on the fan connector, and soldered them together. I am wondering if this will work or if im going to just overvolt something by using my ghetto adapter.
  8. Hey Guys, I have recently bought a HP x360 which has a keyboard backlight. My problem is, that it turns off after 30 seconds of not being used, which destroys the whole purpose of it for me. So I was wondering, if it was even possible to control this feature, and if so if there is a software, a guide or atleast a starting point (for me) for this. Thank you in advance for your answers
  9. Hi I'm new to the RGB lighting world and I'm been trying to find a solution to syncing my fans with my motherboard I have 12 thermaltake trios 12 and 3 trio 14 The motherboard is a z390m gaming edge AC and I would like to try sync it all with mystic light so all my lights work with msi gtx 2070 super My plan was to buy 5 TT sync boxes run 3 fans into each box run them thru 2 ARGB hubs connected to both jrainbow headers on the motherboard I'm really looking to know 1. Is this possible 2. Is there a way to do it with less TT sync boxes 3. Can anyone recommend a good ARGB hub to get this all to work If anyone can help it would be much appreciated I'm having a hard time getting my head around all this
  10. I use Dialux, Revit, relux and occasionaly 3dsmax and SketchUp. Currently using https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-i7-7700HQ-1060-6GB-G3-571-77QK/dp/B06Y4GZS9C?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_2 Looking to build something for 1000-1300 USD. Unsure of what to get , please help! ?
  11. Hi, I have the X370 MSI Pro Carbon Motherboard. The motherboard have a lighting that lights up its io cover and the heatsinks. using it for 2 years now and suddenly the lighting is not light up anymore. There's a time I reset the bios and changing the fan somehow making the lighting turn backs on but after turning on and off my pc multiple times, the lighting is turned back off. I have try: i. Changing all fan from motherboard to PSU. ii. Format Windows 10 multiple times. iii. Reset bios. Update/change bios version. iv. Run all Bios setting on default. v: Reduce the use of power (turning off OC, plug off HDD and use minimal fan) vi: Check the setting on MSI Gaming App. Nothing works. Does my motherboard reach its end even though I didn't face other problems beside the lighting on the motherboard? 12. Hi, I have tried everything I can think of to get this working. It's a bit of a long winded situation that I will try and explain and I really hope someone can help. Before we get in to it, I am aware that the gigabyte software is SH@# but we have no other software to use to control the mobo lighting. My System Deets: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic XL Corsair RM850i 850W 80 Plus Gold Certified Fully Modular Desktop Power Supply Gigabyte X570 AORUS MASTER AMD AM4 Rev 1.0 AMD Ryzen 9 3900X G.Skill F4-3600C16D-32GTZRC Trident Z RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3600MHz CL16 Samsung MZ-V7S1T0B 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVMe M.2 2280 Western Digital WD4003FFBX Pro Red 4TB SATA Galax GeForce RTX 2080 Ti HOF 28IULBUCV6HF 11GB GDDR6 NZXT RL-KRX72-01 Kraken X72 360mm All-In-One Closed Loop CPU Cooler 7X Corsair CO-9050041-WW ML120 Pro 120mm Fans Corsair CL-9011110 Commander Pro All-In-One Controller Windows 10 Professional 64Bit 1909 (OS Build 18363.592) BIOS Version is latest F11 (Release date: 2019-12-09) Nothing has been OC'd as yet So, yesterday I noticed that everytime I tried opening the RGB Fusion app, it would say "Please Wait..." and then just exit. the same would happen with the Trident Z lighting control Software. So I started the whole troubleshooting saga and eventually Completely uninstalled ALL Gigabyte software and G.Skill Trident Z Lighting Control Software. I used CCleaner to remove any remnants of files and cleaned up the registry as well. I also manually scanned my entire drive for an anything related to RGB Fusion and G.Skill I then reinstalled the RGB Fusion software and I was surprised to see it work. However, NOW I can only control my mobo RGB and not the RAM. The RAM is now stuck on RAINBOW. So I figured, well I don't care, I will anyway control the RAM using the Triden Z Lighting Control software but when I started the G.Skill app, it also opened now but shows NO RAM sticks to manage. So then I realise that the RAM is now not being detected. And so I start becoming concerned that maybe CCleaner has borked my drivers or OS or something but then I realised that this all started BEFORE I touched CCleaner so..... I shut the machine down, removed and reseated the RAM sticks and tried again....NOTHING Then I shut the machine down, cleared the CMOS and reset the BIOS settings and tried again....NOTHING I then ran sfc /scannow from the command line as administrator....NOTHING I then ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth from the command line as adminstrator....NOTHING I tried REINSTALLING the Chipset drivers and reboot....NOTHING Then I look over to the LED display on my Galax 2080 ti HOF and notice that the display info is not showing. So... I check if the Xtreme Tuner software is running and it is. So I open up the app and exit it and restart it and the LED display STILL shows NOTHING. So now I am at a loss...I don't know where to from here.... Has anyone got ANY suggestions for me?? I would really appreciate someones help here.
  13. I have a Razer Blackwidow V2 I dont really know how to describe this but all the lights on my keyboard work, but for some reason the lights slowly disable themselves. If I take the USB out and then place it back in all the lights work however within a few minutes the lights start disableing, usually chunks of the lights disable at the same time. What i mean by that is that all the keys like qwertasdfzxcv would disable at the same time. At the moment I have lighting over the (home del ins buttons and the buttons like equal backspace and the keys below them, all the rest are disabled. Things I have tried- Reinstalling Razer Synapse - Going into device manager and deleting keyboard driver - restarting PC (Recurring issue) - Thanks for any help

    RGB HELP!

Hello, I have recently bought a new motherboard (Asus Strix B450-F) and it has only 4 pin RGB headers on it. I also bought a Deepcool Castle 240 the RGB cable connects to a 3 pin RGB header. Does anyone know of any adapters or anything that I could buy to get it to work? I have also attached image of the cable the cooler came with.
  15. Is there any way to sync room LED strips using Asus Aura? I have the space to connect it to my motherboard but am just wondering if it is possible/what products I would need.
  16. Hey there! Long time viewer of the channel here. Great content, lots to watch, and enjoy the shenanigans you all get up to. With that introduction out of the way, I had a question that I searched for but couldn't find an answer to anywhere, at least not one that answered my question(s). I'm currently waiting on all of the parts for my new rig to come in and I had an interesting thought. Before I get to the thought, a bit of background: The case I went for was the Cooler Master C700M with a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite Motherboard. I've done some research and found that the case lights can be controlled by the motherboard software but the thought I had was what if I could control external RGB lighting with that same software along with the case, motherboard, and everything connected to it--that way everything syncs together. What I've found is a few controllers that seem to add lighting to cases that don't have any, but nothing that outright says that it can sync up to external RGB lighting in a room with existing RGB controllers on a motherboard or even through USB with drivers/plugins/software etc. I'm wondering if anyone knows of something that I can use to do this. I'm looking into this because while I don't have a lot of people watching my streams, I figure a cool background with pulsing RGB lighting that matches the case and motherboard lighting would look pretty cool. Thanks in advance! Looking forward to your replies! (Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, if so, please direct me to the correct place, thanks ^_^) -Edge
  17. Does anyone know of a uv/black light led strip that connects to the rgb header, and is magnetic? I cant find one anywhere.
  18. Hello. I recently purchased a Razer Blade 2014 14. I have 2 problems with it. The first problem is cpu temps. While the fans in the laptop do work, the fan curve seems to be a bit lacking. For example, when I ran Space Engineers, the cpu briefly jumped up to 93 degrees Celsius, before the fans sped up a bit and brought it back down to about 83 degrees Celsius. I know that this is within spec for the laptop, but it is still pretty dang hot and I will gladly sacrifice fan noise for more cooling. Is there any way to make the fan cooling curve more aggressive, so that the fans are running faster and keeping the cpu cooler? I have already tried to use speedfan, but it cant seem to find any fans or sensors to display and control. My second problem is less of an issue, but the illuminated razer logo on the back of the screen is very dim, and is not nearly as bright as in pictures, or even in Linus's video. It is not even close to as bright as the apple logo on my macbook. How do I increase its brightness? It is not affected by screen brightness, or keyboard brightness. Thanks.
  19. Welcome to my first tutorial! First of all I do not mean to offend anyone at LTT, it's just a joke (every time Linus does DIY it makes me cringe as an engineer student though). That being said, this tutorial is intended to make it as easy as possible for anyone to build a set of LED lights with a similar feature set as the NZXT hue+. This means that every single LED on your strip can be individually controlled. This opens an immense amount of customization options, all within your grasp with the use of a simple app I coded. Oh and by the way the total materials cost is around $25 US. Before we start a few notes and the obligatory disclaimer: This post is meant to serve as a guide, and I am in no way shape or form responsible for any damage that you may cause to your hardware or yourself. That being said, use common sense and you will be fine. Lastly, I must inform you that the app is NOT color accurate due to the nature of LED lighting, and the patterns represented in the app are there to give you an idea of what they will look like in the LEDs: the two are not in sync. Here is what you will need: -Addressable LED strip for a pc case I recommend 1m 60 leds. Here is a link on ebay -Arduino nano as the brains of the operation. Link from ebay -Interal mini USB type B adapter. Ebay link -Sacrificial molex connector with 5v wires. -Small enclosure to protect the arduino -Some mounting mechanism, small magnets or double sided tape -16, 18 or 20 gauge wire if you want to have longer runs Tools and others: -Soldering iron and solder, nothing fancy is needed, but a flat head tip and rosin core solder makes it easier -Miscellaneous tools, scissors, hot glue, pliers, wire strippers, etc. -A drill to make holes in the enclosure -Heatshrink tubing, electrical tape works too -A working computer with the Arduino IDE and FastLED librarie installed -Optional: Multimeter to double check voltages and connections. -Optional: Third hand tool to hold everything in place while you solder -The folder containing all my code: https://github.com/Dany-Boy55/Addressable-WS2812-LED-controller With all of that covered let's get going with the software: Open the file “DIY_LEDSV1.5_Addressable.ino” and plug in your arduino to you pc. At the top of the code you should see a line that says: #define NUM_LEDS 60. Replace the number 60 with the number of leds in your strip. The next line: const String Device_Name = "Case Lights" sets the controller name, replace it if you want but keep it short. Go to Tools→ Board→ ard select your arduino version (nano and ATmega328 for the one I linked). Next go to Control Panel→ Hardware and Sound→ Devices and Printers→ (at the bottom) Unspecified → arduino or USB UART→ double click → hardware. There you should the USB serial port (COM#) where the # represents a number, remember it. Then, on the arduino software, Tools→Port→The port number found earlier. Finally upload the code with the → arrow symbol or Control+U. Some LED’s on the arduino should blink rapidly, when they stop you are done. Now for the hardware, fire up your soldering iron. Identify the white and red wires coming out of the strip and run some heatshrink down them. Grab your molex and extend the cables if needed. Solder red with red (5v) and black with white (GND). IMPORTANT: double check the voltage coming from the molex, otherwise you can fry the strip. Grab the connector that comes with the strip and the arduino. Solder the white wire to a GNP pad and the green (signal) wire to the pad labeled “2”. Drill holes in your enclosure for the USB cable and the connector. IMPORTANT: don not solder the red wire to the arduino! It is better to put some heatshrink or tape over it to prevent shorts. Fix the arduino inside the enclosure with glue and close the lid. Before you install your lights it’s a good idea to test them, so open up your case, power the LEDS from the PSU and plug the arduino into an internal USB port. In the files you got from my github there should be a folder named app, open the executable in there. Once in the app, click on “Scan for leds”. If nothing happens try it a second time after a few seconds. You should see your controller appear in the drop-down box, click "connect". From here on it should be pretty intuitive, select any pattern you like and you should see your LEDs come to life. Feel free to play around with the effects, colors speed etc. Now it’s finally time to install your LED strip and do your best to hide the mustard and ketchup cables that connect everything together. Just throw everything into the back or the base of your case and you should be fine. After you finished tidying up, play around with the app and find your favorite colors and patterns. Thank you for reading this tutorial, and even if you don’t intend to build this yourself, I encourage you to download the app and play around with the patterns and settings. If you have any ideas for new features that you would like to see added please let me know. Also if you find any bugs or problems. The next step is to see if I can find a way to use CPU and GPU temps and utilization for colors, as well as music response. I'm making progress and the feature will most likely be added during the Easter holidays. Anyway, should you have any questions I will gladly answer them the best I can. Dany out!
  20. Hi LTT Community, I just recently upgraded my amd stealth cooler to a DeepCool 240 Castle RGB I tried to connect my RGB connector to MOBO but sadly it wont fit.someone reccomended me the RGB controller from deepcool and I tried to order it from Amazon but theres another problem amazon does not ship it to My country (Philippines). And there are no possible way to get the deepcool rgb controller here in my country tried new egg but nothing come up. so my question where should I buy it?Is there any onther way to connect it to the 4 pin connector? Is there another RGB controller that I haven't heard Before? Spec: Ryzen 5 2600 16 2x8Gb Xcalibur DDR4 ASUS ROG STRIX B-450 F Gaming DeepCool Castle 240 RGB AIO thanks LTT~
  21. Hi so I just purchased a single Corsair HD120 RGB fan, without the controller, now my question is, will I be able to use it without the controller? Is there any software that will allow me to adjust the lighting without it? is the installation more complicated than simply plugging in the fan header to my mobo? is there any weird wiring stuff I need to do? or have I just wasted my money
  22. Hello! I've been wanting to get some lights strips for inside my pc case (i don't have any lights except a few power lights) I was thinking maybe some RGB ones but fixed colours would be fine too, anyone got any you could recommend? Price wise I don't want to be spending too much money on it (£30 max) also I don't have any spare molex connectors because my pc has so many fans there are none spare, so I need one with a different connector really. my PSU is a Corsair vs650 incase you wanted to know what power cables I'm working with here, thanks again. ?
  23. Hi Guys, So I got my new PC built last month and everything seemed to work ok. Although after couple of weeks, Aura software stopped working and crashing from time to time but once I restarted my system it worked fine. I used it to control the lighting of my MoBo and my RAM. Last evening I got a message you'd normally get when you plug in a new audio device even though I didn't plug anything. Then few minutes later I noticed that my lighting on the RAM and Mobo is stuck(it was set to a Rainbow effect with a gradient). So I restarted the system thinking it's the usual problem with the Aura software. After the restart, my MoBo lights was stuck in one color and my RAM was going through the default color cycle. Since I saw alot people saying to have the most updated version of Aura, I installed that(didn't know about the new version that come out recently). After which the software was detecting the RAM but not the Mobo. After another restart, Aura was detecting the MoBo but no RAM. At this point I hit the refresh button on the Aura software which made the software to detect both components. I was happy and the light show began until this morning when I started my PC only to see the MoBo is being detected again. I hit the refresh button couple of times which didn't do anything but Aura crashed and now I'm getting an error 'Aura stopped working' everytime I run it and sends a crash report to DrDump website. Do anyone have an idea what's going on and any solution for it? My specs are Intel Core i5 8400 2.8GHz, Asus Prime Z370 A, Teamforce Nighthawk RGB 16GB (8GBx2), Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming 8GB, Windows 10 Sorry for the extremely long story but any help will be great. Thank you all.... Edit: I have RGB Fusion and Logitech Gaming Software installed for controlling the lights on the Graphics card and my peripherals.
  24. I am looking for an RGB gaming mouse I want to hear recommendations of the community, so what is the best rgb gaming mouse with amazing rgb lighting?
  25. Hey, So a few days ago I made a thread asking about lighting on the Asus ROG Strix X370-F: So, I followed the advice I was given and checked out the manual of the mobo in question to see what the maximum voltage was. It says that: [Each] RGB header supports 5050 RGB multi-color LED strips (12V/G/R/B), with a maximum power rating of 2A (12V), and no longer than 2 m. Now, I know absolutely nothing about electronics, so I just want to be clear. To the first header (via a 3 way splitter), I will attach 3 CM Masterfan Pro 120 RGB fans (4 leds I believe on each fan). To the second header (also via a splitter), I will attach 2 of those same fans and one 30cm RGB strip. Basically I just want to be sure that the "amperage" isn't a problem, and everything will run without shorting out or anything. One last thing, on the product page for the fans, it says they are Aura ready, but at the bottom of the page my motherboard is not listed in the "recommended motherboard" list. I presume that the mobo list is pretty arbitrary (it lists only old z170 and z270 boards), but I just want to double check that compatibility relies on software and not hardware. Thanks, Jaeger
