Long time fan and lurker, I just registered to chime in on this topic. On music licensing (starting specifically about Twitch but talking more generally) I commented on YouTube to begin with, but as Linus mentioned he doesn't really know anyone in the music licensing industry I thought I could chime in on the forum. I'm an advocate of sensible music licensing, as an artist and composer, and hopefully I can shine some light on the issue from a strictly sensible and human perspective. I would also love to see the general community thoughts on this. My comment was as follows (with reference to the Top Gun track LTT wanted to license for their parody video): "Regarding the cost of music licensing (speaking as a writer and rights owner); with a high earning track like the 'Playing With the Boys' they don't feel the loss of business there. You were deliberately priced out - they don't want another parody of that song on the internet! And with a song with that much power and reach they are at liberty to price you out. Unknown writers such as myself, on the other hand, totally rely on small scale monetisation, such as that which you buy through your current bulk licensing to literally continue living and bettering our craft. Continually lowering pricing on synchronisation / low backend license returns is akin to doing the same such thing with regards to any other copyrighted material (such as the LTT brand! Of which I am a big fan of course). It would literally be analogous to having me bash your YouTube adrev returns for being too high. If you're a small scale channel you can get reusable royalty free music very easily and cheaply nowadays (even for free in some places!). I can post some sources if people need them. But if we don't as composers / artists get an income stream from somewhere, we might as well resign our craft now *cue discussion on music as a hobby vs professional pursuit* and start YouTubing full time (also for no money until we have a big audience). I work at a PC shop and I would really like to use the glam footage from videos like "Ultimate DIY Desk PC FINAL INSTALLATION In Glorious 8K" or "BADASS Wall-Mounted Gaming PC" as a demo for our 4k Monitors. At the moment we use free 4k stock footage. But since it's a store that repairs and sells PCs it would be nice to show videos that actually have PCs in them. I know I can't just download your videos from floatplane and cut the parts I don't need out. But maybe you could sell the edited b roll shots so I can use the footage as a demo? With added watermarks and links to the channel and forum maybe?

So we're all aware that Intel licenses the x86 architecture to AMD (and VIA, also AMD licenses AMD64 to Intel). But what would happen if (in this theoretical situation), Intel went under. Like Intel as a company disentegrates, and with all their intellectual property. Does that mean AMD doesn't pay license fees for x86 anymore, or does that mean nobody can actually license x86 because there's nobody to license it from? I'm really curious...

My wife has an Adobe CC account that she uses for work. It's our account, meaning her work does not pay for it. I am curious regarding the license. From what I gather I can have it installed on 2 PCs at a time. She uses the image editing programs but doesn't touch the video editing programs. I produce amateur youtube videos and would love to use Premiere but I don't want to kick her off of her desktop/laptop by registering the program on another machine and using one of the two. If anyone has any experience in the issue I would love to hear.

Tried reaching out in Troubleshooting but havent gotten much feedback, if there are any Sys Admins or Microsoft gurus there that have any insights, Id appreciate your input. I have 5 systems on a domain that all suddenly started throwing out this activation error today simultaneously. Logging in as an admin and trying to activate doesnt help because system properties shows activation as successful already.... tried running %WINDIR%\system32\oobe\msoobe /a which didnt help. These systems have been error free and running for 2 years + now.Ive checked the time on all the systems and its correct, the time posted on the Time Server is also correct. Ive also forced Group Policy updates and rebooted which didnt help.The only other thing I can thing of is removing and rebinding them to the domain, but since this site is an hours drive away Id rather not go out there, do that, and then not resolve the problem. Any ideas for a REMOTE resolution? Reformatting is an absolute last resort, and I see no reason why it should come to that.Thanks for any input.

How to check Genuine Windows Licensing and Activation: Note: This is a WIP. More content to come, especially for Win8.0+ About: This is meant to be used as a guide on how to determine the status of Windows Licensing and Activation of a particular OS. It also serves to inform the community of how to possibly spot Windows Activations which are non-genuine, tampered with, or pirated. Ideally, this information is to be used in troubleshooting Windows activation issues during Installs or Upgrades. This should also let you check if Windows has an tampered activation (such as from buying a second hand PC off of eBay, or a pawn shop). Preface: Why run a utility to check licensing? Because people lie, or don't know what they're talking about. The Genuine-ness of a system can indicate a lot about the system and user - such as whether they are likely to download things from dodgy website which can result in rootkits/viruses/malware. It can also shine some light as to whether the user has been conned by someone (such as with second hand machines off eBay).Some considerations to ponder: If a system has an OEM sticker on it, and is from firm ABC, then it *should* have firm ABC's OEM_SLP Key in place unless the user has replaced it with the COA Key. If a totally different Key is in place, then something is wrong, eg: HP machine with Acer SLP Key. If the version on the COA sticker doesn't match the installed version, but the Key is an OEM_SLP Key, then something is wrong, eg: COA key for Home Premium (core) but Professional SLP Key is installed. If the Key is a 'valid' Volume license Key - Maybe the machine at one point belonged to an organization or is part of a larger domain, eg: Work computer provided by Company or Academic Institution. If the report shows the presence of a Loader (a program to bypass Windows Activation) - then you got a peg leg on your hands (pirate).
