Ok since apparently only Samsung and TSMC are able to make any 7nm to 8nm chips, I feel like the market is in the situation the two cannot manufacture enough chips? It's also maybe not only due to Covid but also due to supply & demand. If so why doesn't Samsung or TSMC licence the 8nm and 7nm recipe to someone like Global Foundries? Samsung even did it in the past with 14nm right?

I built my first PC a year ago - an AMD APU build. I'm now shopping around for a new CPU Mobo RAM etc... I bought a USB windows 10 for £100 and it is currently installed on the above build. How will it work when it comes to installing windows 10 on my new PC? Thanks.

Hello everyone! I tried my best to find an answer here and simply could not. My issue: I have inherited an old PC and started to do some upgrades. It is currently running win 7 premium 32 bit. And I was told I can reinstall to 64 bit. However I do not have a physical licencing key. I was told to use Magical jelly beans to find the CD key. Which i have. However I do not want to wipe my PC if this key will not work to reinstall. Are they the same? Can I reinstall with this key [it matches code format] and can I upgrade it to 64 buy. (I have 8gb RAM that is being waisted on 32 bit)

Hi everyone I'm building a new pc for my parents. Will I be able to use the windows 10 licence from their old PC or will I have to buy a new one. The old pc was windows 7 but was upgraded to 10 when it was free.

I have windows 10 on this computer and I want to transfer the license to a new computer I built. I was gonna format the drive, and then disconnect it from my old pc and then transfer it to the new pc physically. Is that the best way of going about it?

Hello everyone, I guess I need a bit of help/advice with Windows, as I am a bit stuck.. Specs: Intel Core i7-3930k @4.4GHz (cooled by the original Corsair Hydro Series H100 - temperatures are completely fine, pump works fine, even after all these years) Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4X4) @2133MHz Asus Rampage IV Forumula PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX580 8GB (used, recently upgraded from the Asus GTX 680 DirectCU II) OCZ Fatal1ty 1000W Crucial MX100 256GB (upgraded from the OCZ Vertex 4, which died) (18431 hours) Samsung 850 EVO 500GB (X2) (15636 hours) WD Caviar Black 2TB (26810 hours) Problem: Let me preface this by saying that I am updated to the newest BIOS and that all settings before attempting to update are stock (no CPU OC, no memory OC, no nothing). Basically my computer gets stuck in an endless boot loop after trying to update to Windows 10, version 1903. I mean the kind of boot loop that makes it IMPOSSIBLE to get into any kind of safe mode or anything else. It just randomly keeps restarting and physically shutting off and turning on by itself (it does this for hours if I let it and continues like this in no particular intervals). Even if I PHYSICALLY UNPLUG the power cord from the machine and let it sit unplugged for some time, it literally physically (like pressing the power on button) turns on and continues with the boot loop, as soon as I flip the switch on my PSU to ON. The only thing that managed to save me (for some reason) was switching BIOS chips (the Asus Rampage IV Formula has two physical BIOS chips and an actual physical button to switch between them - one is updated, which I use daily and the other one I've always kept stock, so oldest possible version). I have absolutely no idea why switching my BIOS was able to get me into Windows (didn't update, btw), but it did... after that I am able to shut my computer down, switch the BIOS back to the updated one (which I run daily, of course) and the computer works fine. Basically I gave up trying to update this PC and I turned off any auto updates, any update prompts in the registry, etc., so I'm just running my PC without updating it, which is not ok.. If anyone could give me their input, spare some of their time to try and help, or offer me some advice, I would appreciate it greatly and I for that I would like to sincerely thank those people in advance. So I basically gave up with updating my pretty much 9 year old PC (built it myself, 1st and only owner, of course), because I am looking to upgrade in the next year or two. What I wouldn't like to do at this moment is buy another Widows licence key, but I've been hearing and seeing people running non-activated versions of Windows just fine and from what I understand I just have to download the official Windows installer to an USB stick, install it without being connected to the internet and then just.. not activate it..? Is this true? Can I use Windows normally even if I don't activate it or will there be a problem? I was thinking just of wiping all of my drives to eliminate potential (software related, I guess...?) issues that might have been causing the boot loop in the first place. So, the question: can I use Windows normally without activating it & what would be the best way to go about doing that? Does anyone else have a better solution for me? I'm really worried about it because I have a group licence on my Windows 8 PC and I can't upgrade to Windows 8.1 via Windows Update. I can through installing it from the Internet, but it'll be in a test mode. I don't have the GWX thing and Microsoft says that only users with Windows 7/8.1 can upgrade for free and still have it activated. I have Windows 8 and I really want to upgrade and have it activated, but I'm not sure if by saying "7/8.1" users they mean this or "7/8/8.1". What do you think? I couldn't find answer anywhere else. Hola peeps I'm about to do my drivers licence for motorbike with unlimited power/engine volume and i just saw some video about CBT (those from UK will know what it is), correct me if i'm wrong, but that's basically a test to get certified to drive 125cc or less bikes and it's a 1 day "test" that you can't really fail, unless you're completely incapable to ride a bike. my question is, how it is in your country, is it hard/expensive to get it? for me i gotta go to drivers school for a week, pass a theory exam, that so far, there are only 2 in 10 ppl on average passing it and after that i can sit on the bike and drive for at least 20 hours, before i can take my driving exam all together it'll cost me around 2.000€, if i make it in 20 hours of driving the teacher decides when you're ready for driving exam, so it can be over 20 hours if you're not good enough it sickens me that even tho i got my car drivers license for 7 years already, i still need to go back to school and pass the theory exam, which is utter BS, out of 3.000 available questions, you get 40 and you must get at least 37 right and the questions are as stupid as they get, that's why there is only 2 in 10 ppl passing it does anyone else have such hard times getting it? it would make me happy! yeah, i enjoy in others pain

I will try to make this quick. I have been wanting to replace my mother board for a while. Here are my current specs: Mobo: MSi Z87 G43 CPU: Intel Core i5 4670 GPU: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980 8GB of RAM PSU: Corsair AX 1200i OS: Win 8.1 Ethernet card is a D Link wireless adapter. It is internal and uses a PCI X16 slot. My OS and Drivers are on a Sandisk X110 SSD 64GB, and my personal files such as steam, and all my Adobe application are on a 4TB western Digital Black edition HDD. Another thing worth noting is when I originally bought the computer I ordered it from CyberpowerPC. I'm assuming their licencing is different and doesn't allow me to replace the mobo. So I'm planning on buying another version of Win. I want to replace the Z87 G43 with a Asus Sabertooth Z97. The replacement mobo doesn't have any PCI X16 slots so I would have to get another PCIe X1 wireless adapter. I want to know all the steps I should take to completely replace the board. I know I will have to re install windows, and I know how to physically re install the board, but I'm tripped up on possible driver conflicts and licence issues. I also have some questions about the switch: -I heard I should completely disconnect my Secondary HDD on the first boot, is this true? -Is temporarily removing the HDD really as simple as unplug and plug? Or is there more to this I'm missing? Software wise of course. -Is it even possible to switch from Z87 to Z97 as long as I re install Win? -Will I even have enough room on the teeny tiny SSD to completely re install Win and driver? Right now it has about 15GB of space left. -What order should I re install the drivers? -What should I change in the BIOS? -On first boot should I boot into Normal Win? Safe Mode? Or BIOS? To the non-UK folk, it might seem a strange concept but in the UK we are required to pay for a TV licence at cost of £145.50 (226.80usd at time of writing) per year, or £49 if you have a black & white TV. Nope, Not even kidding about that still being a thing, apparently. The licence is required if you view Live TV on any channel or device, in fact it is actually a Jail-able offence in some circumstances not to own one, if you do in fact use the services. I recently moved into my own place and when the letter started rolling in to remanding me about the TV licence I took a little look online and found that the licence literally is only required, "If you watch TV as it is being broadcast" (Regardless of method used to watch) Do I sacrifice my right to watch live TV, for an extra £145 per year I would have paid otherwise? You're damn right I don't pay it. So I was wondering, who of you are in the UK pay for it? How much Live TV do you actually watch? Is this the first you are hearing of not having to pay it? Am I morally wrong for not paying it seeing as I regularly use the content, albeit, not live? The rest of the world! Do you have anything like this? Does the idea sound ridiculous to you? Or do you like the idea of paying a fee? Most of which funds multiple, ad free, politically unbiased channels? All with genuinely good quality content? (Content being Subjective of course.) (Note; As just an example, Doctor Who is a licence fee funded production that could very well not exist in it's current state, if not for the fee.
