Hi everyone! I'm a sophomore Mechanical Engineering student who just picked up a Lenovo P72 laptop (17.3" 1080p, i7-8850H, 32GB DDR4-2400, Quadro P3200 6GB) off eBay. This is so I can do much more intensive engineering tasks around campus and out at SAE events (I'm a project leader in the school's SAE BAJA team) more easily without being tied to my desktop (27" 1080p + 21.5" 1080p + 2x17" 1280x1024, R7-3700x, 64GB DDR4-3600, GTX 1070, 280GB Optane) as well as have enough display real-estate to make multi-document productivity work actually reasonable. The school's provided 13" HP Elitebook Dragonfly G2 was not cutting it in any respect and was too heavily/poorly managed by them, so rather than go to war with them over controlling a rather poorly suited laptop I figured I'd just get my own better one. I would've loved to just remote into my desktop to avoid the need for such a powerful laptop but the school's network is configured in such a way that doing so while maintaining anything below 400ms of round-trip latency was impossible and even that was unreliable so here we are. I'm now looking to find a nice durable backpack I can actually put this beast and my other MecE gear in, and wanted to get y'alls suggestions. I would love to just get an LTT backpack (been meaning to grab a screwdriver and some other LTT merch for a while now), but the laptop sleeves are too small for my machine (mine measures 16.38"W x 11.06"D x 1.16"H while the backpack is only good for up to 15.5"W x 11.25"D x 1.25"H, maybe I could cram it in but I'd really prefer not to for the sake of both the bag and machine). Whatever I end up with needs to fit my chonk laptop including charger plus some notebooks/pencils/TI-85, my caliper/micrometer set, some screwdrivers/other basic tools, and possibly a 17" portable external monitor or 2 (if I can find any for really good deals, otherwise I'll just grab the free 22" 1080p TV I got from the discard pile on campus and lug it under my arm like I have been already). Do any of you have suggestions of bags you have had good luck with? As long as its not totally obnoxious I don't really care how it looks (although the more "military" it is the better since I have some MOLLE accessories I'd love to use with it. It's gotta be durable above all else, just my normal backpack load with the 13" HP in the school's provided Targus bag wore 1.5" long holes thru the bottom corners in my first year there. Thanks in advance for any thoughts y'all have, I took one look at the eBay results when I went looking and noped out of there because anything good was buried under all the garbage my pretty generic search turned up.

I need to get a 30GB file over to my mac from my PC. I don't have a flash drive that large. A network cable didn't work. I don't have cloud storage that goes up to 30gb. What do?

I recently get a 1440p monitor to add to my current 1080p and 1050p monitors, and noticed that when I'm watching YouTube, Theatre Mode isn't very large, it's about the same size if not smaller than the normal view. Anyone know of a solution to this other than zooming in? (I don't want everything else on the page to be larger, just the video, and I don't want to watch in fullscreen) On the subject of 1440p, it seems the Windows 8.1 Snipping Tool refuses to make rectangular snips when I select more than around 75-80% of my 1440p monitor, it'll just go back to how it is when you start the program up where you have to tell it if you want to take a snip.

Hello, I was looking at mouse pads as my current mouse pad is a bit small for me, I run out of space on it frequently when playing games (although it is 16 inch * 22 inch). Does anyone have suggestions for large mouse pads? I was currently looking at the Glorious XXXL but am open to other suggestions. To anyone that thinks I am trolling, I am not. I actually started to notice that when I game my mouse is falling off the mouse pad and hitting my keyboard (my keyboard is next to the mouse pad) Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can make.

I was planning on making a large battery bank from 20 18650 batteries, and since that might take a while, I was wondering if I would be able to attatch multiple charging inputs for faster charging times. Or is there a limited input speed. Please tell me if there is a better way to do this than shown in the diagram Thanks.

Gaming mouse, Large left-hander 20cm, Need Some help?!
Mr_Heisenberg13 posted a topic in Peripherals
So i'm trying to decide on buying a new mouse... I'm currently using an E-blue cobra (not Junior) Size:126*63.7*38.6mm and while its good for the price I want something with a better senor, and a lager size, I'm claw/palm hybrid gripping the cobra and using it on a low DPI. previously I've used 2000+ dpi which has resulted in some RSI stuff so i'm finding a lower dpi (400-800) is forcing me to move in a more compound motion instead of isolating the movement just to my wrist. I've tried using the Logitech G303 (That 3366 sensor tho...) and this is what caused the Rsi crap in the first place, I mean for me it's like navigating an ant... such a shame I loved how it performed but no, its tiny, awkward to hold and hurts Every time I use it Sooo that leaves me back to square one, I still have yet to find a decent LARGE mouse which is ambidextrous, not bothered about the side buttons so long as the mouse is symmetrical. I would like something with a PixArt 3360 sensor, the only thing ive found is a Nixeus REVEL but that's only 125mm long so I don't know if it'll do or not? it might be ok though since its wider than what i'm using? The other thing ive found is the Cougar 450M that is 135(L) X 67(W) X 40(H) mm BUT has an inferior sensor (PMW3310) and is the same price give or take. Suggestions very welcome. Just to add I feel palm grip is going to be the way forward for me. I'm going to include some photos of my mouse grip for reference. https://postimg.org/gallery/11l84c93i/ https://s14.postimg.org/67za0psep/IMG_20161012_133709.jpg https://s14.postimg.org/sl70nitch/IMG_20161012_133714.jpg https://s14.postimg.org/45ysmgufl/IMG_20161012_134117.jpg https://s14.postimg.org/4wris8wsx/IMG_20161012_134120.jpg https://s14.postimg.org/v6clb1iq9/IMG_20161012_134122.jpg https://s14.postimg.org/bd52w2uq9/IMG_20161012_135327.jpg Many thanks Olly. Hey folks. I'm looking for a decent quality large cloth mousepad. Something large enough to fit a fullsize keyboard and still have some space left for the mouse to move around (I'm a low sensivity user). I would prefer something more inclined to "control" rather than "speed", I'd like something that offers a tiny bit of resistance when moving the mouse. My current mouse is a Logitech G403 Prodigy (wired) in case you're wondering. No fancy designs please... I think I'd like something all black or in a scale of grey/white. Stitched edges aren't a must but they would be welcome. My current mouse pad is a Steelseries QcK XXL and while it's still serving me well enough I feel I'm not being as precise as I'd like while gaming compared to how I was before... I might have fucked up the cloth after a few cleans or something. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Whenever I transfer a folder of files, or one large file the hard drive starts beeping and it disconnects and I get an error message that says it can't find the hard drive. However when I transfer large files or multiple files to the drive on my laptop, I get no problems, it works fine. What's going on here? How can I fix this?

Good Afternoon, i'm looking for a new pc case, i'm currently with a Corsair Carbide Series 275R. Personally would like a bigger case, it's working for the time being but it would be nice having a bigger case that is more cable management room. My motherboard is larger then what the holes that are used for cable management on the case. But i would like a nice design.

Now I've been using this mouse: This was one of those cheap, but very reliable and comfortable mice. Now ofc you can see that's been scuffed quite a bit which is why I've been looking for a replacement. Now when I looked up online I found these: Even Amazon has it: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Full-Size-Ergonomic-Wireless-Scrolling/dp/B078HFRNSP/ref=sr_1_65_sspa?keywords=large+silent+mouse&qid=1550787050&s=gateway&sr=8-65-spons&psc=1 As you can see they are all the same mouse just rebranded by different companies. So I wanted to know who is the original manufacturer Cause I really wanted one without any branding whatsoever, like the one I have now. Any help is appreciated

I was wondering since I bought a large mousepad recently. This One to be more specific. I wanted to have a lot of room for my mouse but what I was thinking about is my laptop is right next to my mouse when im using it. Is it safe to put my laptop on top of the mouse pad? Will that cause any problems like overheating and such? Just wondering because I may have to just use a smaller mousepad which sucks but it is what it is. Thanks for your help in advance!

Hey guys! So i've been searching the web for a whole now and I can't seem to put my finger the the case I want/need. My requirements are that the Asus ROG Strix x399-E fits in it with enough clearance under the bottom PCIe slot for a GPU to not be choked (It's a 970). I also need all the Intakes to have dust filters if possible, but as long as the front has a filter I can make my own for the bottom. Preference wise I've been looking at the Fractal Design XL R2, and then just removing the front noise padding where the fans are and drilling a honeycomb pattern into it so that I still get good airflow without removing the front door. I would like something more modern though with some proper SSD mounting options and cable management. I'd rather not have a window into the case, but I'm not against it! Thanks guys

Ok, this may be stupid, but why keep cpus small? Why can't Intel or AMD build a cpu taller, not larger (as in more surface area without more hight) like in a thread ripper. Couldn't they build a cpu 30 cm high and put in a stupid amount of cores? I would take a tall cpu with 30 cores, and don't say you wouldn't. Yes, they would be tremendously heaver and would require supports, and a special cooling system, but I am just wondering if this is possible and why no companies have done this.

I'm wondering if there's a better fit for my hand than what currently have. A logitech G500. It's a been solid choice for me so far but between work and gaming it's been taking a toll on my wrist. So I began to wonder if I could find a solution that would reduce stress on my right wrist. So a little detail about my mousing habits. My hand is flat to mouse when I'm relaxed like browsing the web or exploring an area with little to no enemies. That changes when things get more tense and hectic. My hand moves to a posture that is better suited to playing the piano rather than using a mouse for extended periods. Any opinions on hardware that might help? I'm looking but failing to find much that would be suited to my purpose.

Hello guys, I am in the market for a new computer desk. I need one that has space for 3 monitors, and enough room to do work without moving the keyboard or monitors. I would like it to have a fair amount of drawer space, as well as plenty room underneath for my legs and computer, which has the large Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case. I would prefer that I can set my monitors far back, so my legs can fit comfortably underneath, without having my eyes up against my monitors. All help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

Good evening, I'm looking to buy a new gaming mouse. I have fairly large hands! I now have a Razer Mamba that is about 130mm in length, which is still too small. The G502 with it's 132mm is too small as well. I carry the mouse around with my laptop so i'd rather not have protruding buttons that can hook on any zippers. I don't care for any gamer bling, I do however want the mouse to perform adequately. And large enough so that I can palm grip it. Here's me palm gripping my Razer Mamba: Any advice would be appreciated.

I was wondering if anyone knew a stable, good large case, that has a window on the side to view the insides. My brother told me to look at fractal design, so one from those people would be nice I guess Edit: Accidental double post. Not intended, sorry about that

The Rantopad H1X Large is a fabric mouse pad with a great focus on quality and also quantity, making it the perfect mouse pad for a pc gamer. "In March of 2015 year, the domestic game mouse pad leading brand of "Rantopad" launched a new H1X fabric mouse pad, the revolutionary H1X brings a great progress of the fabric texture, is no longer the horizontal and vertical lines structure simulation, but similar resin matte texture, the horizontal and vertical direction of resistance is very uniform, slightly more than silk series, improve the handle feeling stability in the process of using. Especially in the fast-moving emergency stop and precise positioning is greatly beyond the traditional horizontal and vertical lines cloth, and greatly enhanced compatibility on the laser mouse." -Rantopad I have tested the Rantopad H1X Large for a week now and therefore shall review it based from what I have experience during this week of testing. Although not being very well known, Rantopad offer great features with their products. Surely not one to be missed by gamers. Build Quality : It is made out of fabric and offers great comfort for the mouse to slide on aswell as for the hand to rest on. Apart from its great quality of fabric, it offers a grippy texture on the back of the mouse pad to keep in place whilst gaming. One has to note that this texture is more grippy than other mouse pads. Personally, it was the best mouse pad I've ever tested with a grip that will stay put. The fabric used for this mouse pad makes it really easy for a gamer to be more accurate in-game as the fabric is specially designed to provide a balance between control and speed, and also to last. Features : Approximate Size : Approximate Weight : Rantopad Logo on the Mouse pad to make it aesthetically pleasing. A cloth border around the mouse pad to make the pad last longer without damage occuring throughout the years. Built to last. Conclusion : This mouse pad is ideal for every gamer, but more specifically to those gamers who attend lan events, as its size is designed to be used in environments on the fly and also to be comfortable at home, to provide the quality the gamer needs at all points, also its weight makes it more easier to carry. One must keep in mind that the mouse pad isn't expensive at all. Rantopad do a great job of giving quality in their items for a valuable price. Certainly an unkown company, but surely if found by gamers and utilized by them, they will now that Rantopad are taking it to the next level. Rating : ★★★★☆4/5 link to our unboxing video :https://youtu.be/cuJUmyIIqmY a video review of this product will be out soon on our channel

Hi, the deal is that i'm looking for a new gaming mouse to use for my setup. I've been using the MadCatz R.A.T 7 for 2 and a half years now, and i feel like it's time for an upgrade. I have quite large hands, and use a claw grip (sort of) most of the time. I have tried the Razer ouroboros but i didn't like it that much. The games that i play most of the time are CS:GO, LoL, Gta V. So, i am looking for a new mouse to replace my old R.A.T, and i feel that i need a couple of suggestions/ recommendations from you guys. What i want the mouse to be like is: quite large a little bit heavy any brand Price range is about 80-100$ USD Thank you for your feedback!

Oh boy, here comes HTC with more variations on what should have been their flagship phone to begin with. As we can see, it has a Quad HD display as well as 3GB of RAM and a 20mp camera. The E9 gets cut down specs. I'm trying to understand why they NEED to make such country specific devices instead of just minimizing how many variations they need off the bat, but oh well. I'm not running their product lines so I can't explain their reasoning. But here they both are. Enjoy? http://www.engadget.com/2015/03/29/htc-one-e9-plus-official-china/
