Hey, Got a K|NG|PIN 1080 Ti the other day. Took off the waterblock and installed the air cooler. Unfortunately one fan is spinning at (what I assume is) 100%. The fan is not detected by Afterburner or Precision X1, and I can therefore not control it. The software believes the fans are spinning at a very low RPM because that is what the fans that are detected (number 1 and 2, closest to the I/0) are spinning at. All temps on the card are below 40C. Help appreciated! Other (relevant) system info: 6700K Maximus 8 Formula (latest BIOs) RM750x Side related question - can i just remove the fan connector as long as I monitor the temps?

Stock for stock? Or kingpin needs overclocking to match a stock 3090Ti? Apparently this also exists....

So Gamers Nexus got their hands on the EVGA 1080ti Kingpin Edition. Their video goes through the design of the entire card, and it turns out to be really interesting: Basically this card has two very interesting features: The entire heatsink is pure copper. That includes the fins. Now this is not the first time EVGA has gone this route, as they had an all copper cooler on their 980ti Kingpin Edition too. The card has 2x 8 pin pci power conenctors. The interesting thing here is the placement: It's at the end of the card pointing back. This is great as almost all cases have plenty of space for the length of the card. However, width is becoming more of an issue with smaller cases now. Furthermore putting the connectors at the end of the card also makes for much nicer cable management. This should be an industry standard, and something I've advocated for, for a long time. All in all a very interesting card. With Cryorig launching an entire series of all copper coolers, we could really see a comeback to full copper based computers. It's gonna be great. Now if we could just get this superior power connector position on all cards, that would be great. I'm looking to get an oem version of windows 10 and I'm looking at getting it from beagameskeys off of kingpin but I'm wondering if anyone else knows about a good place to buy cheap oem keys. Thanks

Forgive my newbieness, I've recently bought a Predator X34P and overclocked it to 120Hz and running it with a 1080 Ti Kingpin over displayport, In more than one game I keep seeing this increased sharpness whenever there's movement/motion ingame and as soon as that stops it goes back to smooth rendering. I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with this issue. (video) I've added a link to a recorded video that shows the problem (slightly low-quality).

Hello peeps, I wanted to know what is the main difference between the EVGA classified 980ti and the kingpin 980ti. I already have a pair of 980ti classys watercooled and was thinking of putting a third one in to make the system look baller! A 900d needs a lot more love and pc parts amirite ;). I have a friend upgrading to a titan xp and was looking to sell the 980ti Kingpin for a reasonable price. I wanted to know if the size of the card alongside an EK waterblock for it is different enough to not fit on an EK triple paralell alongside my old classys. I have a ryzen system with 1080ti sli so no need to tell me 'it's not worth it' or 'upgrade to 1080ti' or anything. This is just a show build that will sit in the living room being pretty and watercooled

Well... I bought a GTX 780TI Classified KINGPIN 3 weeks ago...when the card arrived, I decided to overclock it, and see how far KINGPIN goes... but I was disappointed with the results... STOCK: 1200MHz -- 1.175v = normal Overclock: 1250MHz -- 1.175v = artifacts Overclock (with overvolt): 1250MHz -- 1.250v = artifacts too... I even contact EVGA and re-write the BIOS (Original BIOS) I dont know what is wrong, but thar is VERY strange... someone had the same problem, or can help me?

Hi Fellow Watercooler and Overclock enthusiast. Recently I’ve been getting into overclocking which led into water-cooling. But here I am dumb as rocks already bought some parts but I did not know if I have a powerful enough PSU. The current PSU that I am using is a EVGA Supernova 850W P2 psu. Will this PSU be enough to power my current PC parts list with extra headroom to include future cards like PASCAL when they release? My Parts List: ASUS Maximus VIII GENE motherboard i7-6700k currently overclocked to 4.8 ghz at 1.35v with the NH-U12S cpu cooler (planning to up this big time once I get it underwater) EVGA GTX 980 TI Kingpin as high of an overclock I can get 1600+ core, hopefully? 2x8gb Corsair LPX Vengeance MCP-655 PWM Pump XSPC Raystorm PRO Bitspower Full Cover Block for GTX 980 TI Kingpin edition 500gb Samsung EVO SSD 2x 360mm Black Ice Nemesis GTS Ultra Stealth radiators 6x 120 SP Red LED Corsair fans 2x NF-F12 Fans EVGA Supernova 850W P2 I’m going to be using these parts as my first custom water loop. I am so excited! Anyways again will the EVGA Supernova 850W P2 – will this power supply be enough to power all these parts comfortably as well as extra headroom for future overclock capable cards when PASCAL releases? Thanks in advance everyone!

Hi. Let me first introduce myself. I am a doctor from Odisha, India with a craze for Gaming PCS. My workstation config: Asus P9X79E-WS i7-4960x 16GB GSkill 3000MHz 2 x EVGA 980Ti Kingpin Corsair AX1500i Corsair H100i OCZ Revodrive 350 (As Boot device) I previously had a pair of EVGA 780Ti which worked well till i thought of replacing them with the 980Ti Kingpin's. After install and system reinstall , it runs fine for some time and then shows Nvidia drivers crashing and restarting. Then comes BSOD with errors like DPC Watchdog & Video TDR failure and restarts. I have reinstalled several times with both Win10 and Win7 but cant get it fixed. Please help.

Greetings all. Has anyone tracked down a full waterblock for the EVGA 980TI Kingpin? I appreciate it a limited edition card and wondering if anyone will even both releasing a WB for it.

Has any one found a good clip of the EVGA GTX980 KINGPIN and benchmarks, as I am wondering to get one for my pc build. And really want to know how well it performs to other GTX980 and other GPU's out there at the same price point or even CF OR SLI. any help would be great. Linus can you do a video on this card? Cheers

Hello. I have a bit of an issue. I got a 980 KingPin today and I was so excited and put it in my system then I realized I dont know how to customize the LEDS. I've never owned a Nvida card before so this is all new to me. I've looked in the Geforce Experience LED visualizer and found nothing but the adjustment to brighten the LED's as well change if they break, flash and dance to audio but no color changer. I looked in PrecisionX seeing EVGA says on there site that it can control it but I have found nothing. So could someone please point me in the right direction?

NCIX: http://bit.ly/1dYKIaa Amazon: http://geni.us/17Rx The timing of the GTX 980 Kingpin release seemed a bit... interesting because it coincided with the Titan X launch. Is the Kingpin the best current card for gamers? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1UrI478K6A&feature=youtu.be

http://wccftech.com/evga-shows-geforce-gtx-980-classified-kngpn-edition-geforce-gtx-980-hydro-copper-ces-2015/ Holy balls. Here's a GPU for the record setters. You'll notice that it has finally adopted the new I/O layout. Want this card so much. 450W total power draw but expect the LN2 BIOS to be a no limits BIOS. The white LEDs let you know that powers to certain components are good. GPU .MEM, VRM. PLL and voltage i think. Can easily be made into a single slot card. not a fan of the hydro copper card though

This is my personal review of the EVGA Geforce GTX 980 Classified Kingpin Edition. I have two insalled in my rig in SLI. Hopefully this review will help who ever is reading this make a firm decision on whether to buy or not to buy this card. Here is a link to EVGA's site to read up on the specs of the card. http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-5988-KR And for purchasing the card I recomend Newegg seeing they seem to be getting the cards available for sale on a fairly regular basis. Pros: This card is incredibly fast right out of the box. No other single GPU card can compete with this beast. It is quite nice that the default fan profile is set to zero rpm under 60C but I personally prefer to have the fans running at about 40% to keep the temps down in the 40s range at idle till EK finally releases a water block for this card. The structual integrity of the card has been much improved upon compared to the 780 Ti Kingpin. There is no sign of any droop/sag when installed and the stock cooler stays flush with the PCB compared to the 780 Ti variant where the cooler tries to raise away from the PCB on the far end which can directly impact cooling performance which can impact overall performance of the card. The LEDs are a nice little touch to the card and fun to play with but in all honesty it is just a little gimmick and will be replaced with a water block when released. Raw performance on a single card is pretty nice. While playing BF4 on ultra settings at 1440p I was getting from the 80s to 90s FPS and with two cards in SLI was getting from 125 to the 144 FPS. Note: (My monitor is an Asus RoG Swift PG278Q) I'm sure with the right overclocking you should be able to reach about 100 to 100+ FPS on a single card at that resolution and should have that with no overclocking if running a 1080p monitor. For Crysis 3 with all the settings at max with (MFAA 8X High) I was only getting around 27 to 36 FPS and with two cards that bumped up to 60 and 70 FPS. Just keep in mind I play at 1440P so you should be getting some better frames at 1080p. The power consumption is quite a bit less on these cards compared to the 780 Ti Kingpin. While running Fur Mark or other benchmarks to stress the GPUs in SLI I was pulling just over 500W and with the 780 Ti Kingpin in SLI I was pulling around 800W. Quite the difference. Cons: A bit pricy but if you look back to the 780 Ti Kingpin before the launch of the 900 series it cost a little bit more so it could have been worse. It is a bit hard to mount the scews on the bracket in a 900D seeing that is my case. But already knew that was going to be a problem again seeing as I still own my 780 Ti Kingpin cards. And I really don't know how big of a problem that is really going to be for owners of different cases seeing the only other cases I still own are not built to even hold such a giant card in the first place. But one thing for sure it more than likely won't fit any mini ITX cases except the Bitfenix Prodigy that I know of off the top of my head. So I would go with a smaller card unless you want to make some hardcore perminant modifications to your case just to fit this card. Same goes for some Micro ATX cases. Make sure you read the specs of your case and measure before you buy. During benchmarks on Futuremark with a single card I was getting good FPS but when running them in SLI and running the same benchmark I was getting a capped 225 FPS where as running a single card I was getting around 300+ FPS (Non-Overclocked). Don't know if it is a driver issue or something but will eventually figure it out. In Closing: I really hope this was informitive to y'all in helping make y'alls decision on this card and if you have any questions don't be afraid to shoot me a message and I will try and get to you as quickly as possible. Thanks for taking the time to read my review and have a nice day. I am planning on upgrading my current graphics card; however, I cannot decide between these to cards. I am also going to be liquid cooling the new graphics card and overclocking, so I have been wondering which one I should get. The 780Ti Kingpin is currently $499.99 on Newegg and the 970 FTW is $370.00. I am not concerned about the power draw of the cards. I just want to know which one to get. Thanks -Lucas Edit: I am also planning on playing at 1440p.

I was wondering whether I should get the Zotac 780 Ti OC edition in SLi, with having around £200 left for peripherals or get an overclocked EVGA 780 Ti Kingpin edition and have around £500 left for peripherals? Will the price of the Kingpin edition go down after the 900 series' release? Thanks. P.S. My CPU is a 4790k and my motherboard is Asus ROG VII Hero.
-
A lot of people are saying that the Kingpin isn't worth the price, so i'm starting to rethink about getting it, should i just opt for a cheaper model and add on a liquid cooler?
-
should i get EVGA 780ti classified kingpin or msi r9 290x lightning

Ok, so I just watched Linus's video on evga's 780ti Kingpin card. The second he said that he would do the benchmark without putting any sort of unlocked bios on it or overclocking the S**T out of that card I got so mad. This was only because the point of a card so powerful (from nvidia) is to put a costum bios on it only because with nvidia's lock the clock speed down and everything it would be pointless to buy it over a regular 780 ti. What i am really trying to say is that linus did not really understand what that card was made for. and I just really want him to do a video were he overclocks it to its max performance(I really don't care if he takes the stock cooler off). pls respond and tell me your opinions about this topic.

NCIX: n/a Amazon: n/a EVGA: http://www.evga.com/articles/00813/#Kingpin edit: added BT Sync secret for the voltage changer application. You can get BT Sync here: http://getsync.com/ Secret: BFC2XTYOWZHGRG7C6CZ6EKFYCTAKIT6PX So we don't know much about how to GET a K|ngp|n card other than that EVGA will have some kind of exclusive "build to order" program for it. In the meantime, stay tuned because if you've got the coin to spare... you're going to want one of these bad boys. By far the boss-est GTX 780 Ti we've ever used.
