i have an imac late 2015 with a 2tb fusion drive that started randomly giving kernel errors and once rebooted into the OSx Monterey it gives me an error saying "the disk you attached was not readable by this computer" and gives me 3 options: eject, initialize or ignore, when i chose initialize i was taken to disk utility that showed me apple ssd 128GB as unmounted and when i try to format, it keeps going and doesn't format. thanks!

For context, I have a 2019 16" MacBook Pro that my company provided me (This is VERY important because it means I don't have administrator access nor I can take the computer to an Apple Retailer) and it is the second laptop they've given me that experiences this issue. This doesn't start happening until I've finished installing all my work tools (I think this is relevant because I suspect it is one of the tools causing this issue). I can't be too specific because many of the tools I use are in-house tools made by our company or clients however, I'd like to know if there is a way I can determine what process is causing this failure by reading the logs. Worth noting, in my project we have a shared 13" MacBook pro with the exact same Ventura 13.4.1 MacOS version and running without this issue, and as far as I know no one else in my company has reported this issue (I asked on Slack on our Mac users group). To be clear, this error is somewhat harmless at the moment (I only get this GPU panic error after I take my MacBook back from Deep Sleep (AKA close it and don't open it again until I'm back at the office the next day). It's not much of an issue at the moment but I have seen posts online that report the laptop will literally black screen and shut down while being used and I'm afraid it could evolve into that. The company will gift me this laptop once it's retired in a few months, so I'd really like to fix this issue if possible. Specs: CPU: 2,6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 Graphics: AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4 GB Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB Memory: 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 OS Version: MacOS Ventura 13.4.1 I'm not well versed with MacOS as I've always been a Windows user, so I'm not entirely sure on how to navigate the logs and troubleshoot, which is why I'm turning to the community for help. What we've tried so far (with the SD guys): -Format and reinstall MacOS straight up from the latest version (So no MacOS updates performed) -Disable Auto GPU switching -Disable Enable Power Nap -Enable Power Nap on Always -Put hard disks to sleep whenever possible in all configurations -Run a health check of the hardware (turned out all OK) Panic Report: "bug_type" : "210", "build" : "Bridge OS 7.5 (20P5060)", "crashReporterKey" : "c0dec0dec0dec0dec0dec0dec0dec0dec0de0001", "date" : "2023-07-08 03:07:57.78 +0000", "incident" : "A3F13EE1-CD26-4348-AAE9-64119A94C6FE", "kernel" : "Darwin Kernel Version 22.5.0: Thu Jun 8 17:10:34 PDT 2023; root:xnu-8796.121.3~5\/RELEASE_ARM64_T8010", "macOSOtherString" : " ** In Memory Panic Stackshot Succeeded ** Bytes Traced 678057 (Uncompressed 1713504) ** ", "macOSPanicFlags" : "0xc", "macOSPanicString" : "panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff7fa1557747): GPU Panic: [3:0:0][PPLIB] Failed Power Play Resume. I got a 2018 MacBook Air that has been suffering from Kernel panics after it was dropped fairly bad. It will function for about 5mins or so before shutting down completely. I tried just doing a complete factory reset and loaded a new OS from a known good boot drive but no dice. To my knowledge Kernel panics are eaters: Logic Board, Ram, or Hard Drive. The 2018 MacBook does not have a removable Ram or Hard Drive so I went nuclear and got a new Logic Board. The logic board was the same exact everything as the old one, including the Kernel panic issue. After more research, I discovered that on older Macs the battery was sometimes the cause. After testing I now know that the battery is not it. Now my question is, What could be causing this these crashes?! Can any part in a computer cause a Kernel panic? I thought that they only happened with data transfer and resource management that would only happen with the hard drive, ram, and sometimes the logic board. Is that Not the case? The Kernel panic says, " cpu 1 caller 0xfffffff0191d3578" and, "Kernel Version: Darwin Version 22.1.0" I can provide any more information if need. Thank you for your help if you chose to do so.

All I can really say to describe the issue is that the system was fine earlier today but turning it off for a while and coming back to turn it on I'm greeted by this (I would shrink the image but the text is small): I don't have a complete understanding of what's going on in the text or if it in any way says why it's hung-up. I've done some of the most basic troubleshooting: Reset it Turn it off and on Cut power, turn back on Unplug GPU Unplug unnecessary peripherals That's where I'm at right now but I have a strange feeling the issue isn't hardware. Ubuntu didn't tell me an update ran (usually does) but I still think something happened in the background and it bricked my install. Does anybody know where to find and how to read the crash log? I've been told there usually is one when there's a kernel panic. Any other suggestions on how to get this back up & running are appreciated. Trying to get unraid running on the above build. Had it working fine when I started out with unraid 6.7.2, after upgrading to 6.8 I started having an inconsistent kernel panic, that would only boot in safe mode, sometimes (Sometimes it would kernel panic even in safe mode) decided to try to remake my unraid image, and have now tried reinstalling with a fresh 6.8, and a fresh 6.7.2, but I keep getting the kernel panic. I have tried both versions with UEFI boot and legacy boot with no luck. Is this just an issue with Unraid not supporting the hardware? I know I’ve read a fair amount of people having issues with threadripper, but not many people seem to be using it actively. 12/29 - Ran a fresh copy of 6.7.2 in UEFI boot in Unraid OS mode and reboot it just to make sure that it wasn’t a fluke.
