Hello, I want to ask a 2 part question. If anyone can help, I got an iPod nano 7th gen from eBay, and I thought It needed a new battery but it did power on but none the tuch would not work the sleep wake would not work as well as the volume up or down. So my question is can the ribbon cable that is in the red be removed and repalce if yes how. Now for the 2nd part the one in yellow the back cable brokeoff the top part of the tab and I am unable to remove it from the Connect to on the board as it's stuck in there is there any way to remove it. The the yellow has So much water on it that it looked corroded. Thay when I wend to pull it up it just Ripped off with it out the Connect to bean removed. I have already posted this on ifixit as well.

I have an 80gb ipod classic and I want to get everything from it while it still works, without Apple's help. I don't know my old iTunes login info and a lot (>95%) of the music was ripped from the CDs of middle school and high school friends doesn't need to be a free program as long as it's a company with a good reputation and it'll actually grab everything, titles, artist, album covers, etc.

Can an iPod touch have its guts ripped out and replaced with an Apple Watches? I have seen the video's of Linus "jerry rigging" a Steam Deck. I would like to know if you are capable of combining an Apple Watch and an iPod. The screen, battery and chassis of the iPod with the internals of an Apple Watch. This would make for a large screen Apple Watch with a long battery life. If that's not possible, can you figure out how to place Apple Watch iOS on an iPod? I have seen a simulation, but imagine being the first to combine the two.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I found my old Ipod shuffle and decided to start using it for it's tiny size. After getting a pair of apple earbuds to pause and control volume, I find that nothing happens when using the remote. I've tried to factory reset the device and even tried turning it off and on again. If anyone knows why this happens or knows how to fix it, whether it's the earbuds or device itself, please let me know, thanks.

I have a Bose (iPod Dock) Speaker with only an AUX in. I would like to be able to play either Spotify or Soundcloud through it without having to hook up a laptop as such. (Something that able to be hidden, and be able to use easily.) I have thought of a possible solution which was use a Chromecast audio, and buy a really cheap phone of eBay or something. Any better ideas?

I found this in my mom's room. She said that she bought one, then got another from her friend. Should I tell her to sell her iPods? The back is scratched though.

Hello, im going on vacation with my family soon and promised to help them get some music on their iPod, they did not want to pay for it. I do not know the model, but it looks like a smaller version of the original iPhone and has 32GB of storage. Is it possible to just pirate some music on my PC and transfer it to the iPod? Any other ways to get music on it without paying in the Itunes store? Thank you.

Alright so I have tried several different things and it still has not worked. SO here is what's going on; when I try to download music or audio books onto my ipod by either dragging and dropping them or syncing it/sending it from itunes to the ipod. However, even though I can almost always see the files in "MUSIC" when I click on them, they either go back to the music menu or restarts the device, or goes the to the "White screen of death". NOTES: The pc I'm using is win-10 and I tried the files as mp3 formats (the downloads were m4a) and nothing changed.

I've had my iPod 2nd gen for soon a decade now, and I fear it's time is near. - I have added many media files over the years which I would love to get back from it. The problem is I cannot install iTunes, and can only access my archive album. Nothing else. I have found a few software to retrieve my media files from my iPod, but they either doesn't work, or has a price tag with a ridicules trial limit. Can anybody please help me find a free software to retrieve my pictures (over 2'000) music (600 ish?) and videos (Not important)? I would be ever so absolutely grateful. As I was ready to submit this topic, did it occur to me: Why not just try to see why I cannot install iTunes? hehe.

So my little brother has been having this issue where every night around 12pm-ish his iPod will stop loading anything in apps, leaving youtube a blank screen with "Offline" in the center, It tells us it is connected to the wifi, and it is working wifi, and is not throttled. We've tried restarting/resetting our router, I've installed iTunes to see if it needs an update. I've never seen anything like this and was wondering if there was anything I can do to stop it.

So I was in the market for an Ipod Touch, and found that all the used ones were very expensive. I was wondering if there was any recommendations for a similar product (or able to be used similarly) on the android side of the spectrum, preferably for under ~60-80 US$. My best bet is probably an old unlocked refurbished phone, but I'm not quite sure. Let me know what you think!

Hi, so ill make this as short as possible. I recently got an iPod Touch 6th generation (iOS 10). I'm using it for Home and School. BUT when i try to go into my schools wifi, most things wont work. NOW i know school blocks this, and u use VPN to connect and use everything without it being blocked. but, when i try to use VPN, it never connects. I have pretty strong signal, and all my friends seem do it no problem (some of them use Android, and use Psiphon to connect, iOS doesn't have it) I tried like 5 or 6 apps such as VPN Master, Betternet, OpenVPN, etc. All would not connect to the server or load. But then when i tried to do it from my Wifi at home, it worked fast no problem. This is the info from the school wifi i got when looking for info....im gonna out "X" so not all info is out. IP Address - 10.213.8X.XXX Subnet Mask - 255.255.XXX.X Router - 10.213.84.1 DNS - 10.254.164.XXX, 10.254.63X.XXX Search Domains - BYODstu.XXXXXXXX Client ID - (nothing) What do i do??!! i got this thing to mostly use at school and most people use it just fine. Is there anything i can do that will fix it? Maybe MANUALLY make a VPN or something? Please help! again im using the newest ipod touch, so idk. And if there is anything that will work, is there something i need to do on regular wifi before going and trying to connect at school? I hope you guys can help me out! Thank you!!

Hi all, I'm currently in the process of selling my ipod Nano (7th gen). A question that I have been asked is whether there is any way you can transfer music from a pc/mac to the ipod without the use of iTunes. I know that there are many programs that solve the issue however I've noticed that all of them require you to pay to use, and only let you trial out the software. So does anyone have any recommendations as to how to do this / any freeware that I can recommend to the person that may buy my device? (The reason why they are asking this is that they want to be assured that there is an easy or easy-ish way to transfer music onto the device in the event that iTunes shuts down.) Thanks!

Hey guys, these forums have treated me really well in the past so I'm here again with another tech related issue. (Not 100% sure where to put this, but phones seemed about right. Please correct me if I am wrong) I got the iPod Touch Gen 5 a few years ago as a Christmas gift. Was pretty nice while I used it, but it eventually fell behind my phone in terms of features and I've been on Android for years so I haven't used it since then. The other day I saw it in a drawer and decided I wanted to look through the pictures and reminisce about the "good old days." So after about 2.5 hours of charging troubleshooting (who knew using the cracked cable would help??) I finally got it turned on! ... only to realize there was a PIN on there. and I don't know it I tried all the PINs I could think of before getting locked out. I did some research online, but most methods of getting in without a factory reset (which I'd like to avoid as I want to get pictures and messages off of there) seem to not work with this generation. Anyone have any advice for me? Do I suck it up and reset the thing? Is there some hidden way of getting in that I managed to miss? Thanks in advance!

So I received an Ipod touch a few years back, stopped using it and gave it to my brother and now have it back. originally I didn't remember the passcode so I went to reset it. after I reset it I got to the activate screen and I can't for the life of me remember any of my login stuff since i almost never use any apple product. Could anyone help me or tell me how much I'll probably have to pay the apple store to get it removed?

So I recently got a 7th gen iPod and an iPod nano (the fat square one), but I don't use iTunes so I don't have any songs. But is there a way to add music from Spotify? Thanks.

Summary David Shayer, ex-software engineer from Apple, has recently written an article detailing a secret iPod that Apple helped the U.S. Department of Energy create. Well thats not entirely true. While Apple was helping the DOE, only 4 people at Apple knew about the project. The director of iPod Software, the VP of the iPod Division, the Senior VP of Hardware, and David Shayer, the author of the article who is the only one that actually worked on it. The project involved 2 engineers from Bechtel, a major contractor for the government, who worked at the Apple office in 2005 for a few months on behalf of the DOE. Their goal was to incorporate some special hardware into 5th generation iPods and be able to secretly record information from the hardware all while having the iPod still function as normal and hide the information it contained. The only role David played in the project was helping the engineers get started with Apple's software and help with any problems they had along the way. No one at Apple, including David, ever saw the hardware or knew what its intended purpose was. However, David has speculated that the hardware was used to make the iPod function as a secret Geiger counter. Geiger counters are used to measure radiation. This story has been confirmed on twitter by Tony Fadell who was the VP of the iPod at the time. I recommend reading the whole story at the first link in the sources section as it is very interesting and detailed. It is too long for me to quote so I am not able to use it as the quote on here. Quotes My thoughts When I first saw the title, I assumed that the government was modifying iPods to record people. I think the true story is much cooler and definitely not what I was expecting. The fact that they were able to fit a machine like that in there (assuming it was Geiger counter) is very impressive seeing as how this was in 2005 and looking at images, they seem much bigger than the iPod itself was. I 100% recommend reading the full story as I found it very interesting and it not only gives insight to the project itself, but also a little bit about Apple back then. A relative of mine recently got an ipod for their 7 year old son. I set it up for them and gave them a sheet with all the apple id information. So recently their son put a password on it and forgot it so they tried to reset it and now it is stuck on the set process. They (stupidly) threw out the sheet i gave them for this specific reason and cant remember any of the details. So being their tech support they gave it to me and asked me to fix it. I have never really used an apple device and couldnt remember any of the details either. So i tried resetting the password but could not remember the email i made for it. I tried looking up the icloud on apples website function but cant remember the names i used. Is there any way to untie an apple device its icloud account without actually accessing it? Thanks.

Hi, So, I'm building a custom computer setup and custom desk. as part of it, I would like to be able to plug my old ipod classic into a custom dock (really just a cable) and charge it as well as play music directly from the ipod. I will have desktop speakers plugged into the computer, they may not have a dedicated USB input. So my questions are: 1. Is there a way to dock the ipod so it charges and plays simultaneously (is there a DIY way to build a dock like this) 2. Is there a way to connect this to the computer or the speakers so that it directly feeds audio to the speakers so music is controlled solely from the iPod. Also, Is there a way do ALL the above via the 30 pin connector only? I would like to avoid using the Aux (the aux output is ontop of the ipod and this may aesthetically ruin the docking look i'm ting to go for)

Heylo, So i have a 7th Gen iPod classic that i love (Can a piece of tech be any more gorgeous?). only thing is, it really doesn't have high quality playback. I use my headphones (Audio technica m50xs) with a DAC, so im used to good sound, but the ipod just doesn't cut it. I feel like my phone provides better audio output. Anyway, Im looking for good recommendations for a music player with quality output, good battery life and maybe somthing that could access spotify (but not needed)
