  1. 2-3 weeks ago, I had an issue I had never encountered it before, it happened to my iPhone 6S just after I updated it to iOS 13.4, it is such an annoying issue, the touch (for no reason, out of nowhere) suddenly disables, I mean, WHY? The issue gets temproary fixed after you lock the screen and then turn it back on, and it might not be a huge problem for you and you might just find it silly from me to mention it, but it gets so (insert profanity here) annoying, when it keeps freaking repeating, and it destroys your whole experience, like 4-5 times every 5 minutes, the thing is.. when I am in "Touch ID or Enter Passcode" screen, and this issue happens, double-clicking the lock button fixes everything, I am not talking about turning the screen off and then back on, no, just double-clicking that the screen doesn't even turn off. I contacted Apple Support when the issue really got my goat, they told me to backup my stuff, reset all settings (delete everything) and see what happens, well... it didn't really work, the issue has been fixed or didn't really appear as much, but then it did a couple days ago (about 3 days ago), I contacted them again, they asked me about how much storage was available, and I told then the available storage it was about 33GB of Available Storage out of 64GB of Total Storage, so I also told them that the issue wasn't there until I got my stuff back on my phone (because that actually happened, and I though that will help them better know what is the problem) and they told me that my backup might be corrupted, so I should delete everything, and not get it back, will that was surprising and I thought that is crazy, that includes all my precious photos, that I just don't want to throw away, I got those photos on my laptop, and did that, that is huge disappointment, but if it is going to fix it, I am down. Tried that, and guess what? It happened on freaking SETUP, right off the bat, before I even do ANYTHING, I recorded that, I will be getting it on YouTube soon, just to show you, but what I knew then, that the backup is alright, the issue is in the phone, now before all that happened, before I contacted Apple Support for the second time and they told to delete everything and to not bring my backup back on the phone, I updated again to iOS 13.4.1, hoping that will fix the problem, but no. Contacted them, one more time, they told me to connect my iPhone to my laptop, use iTunes to Update & Restore my iPhone in Recovery Mode, that took my a while, with the huge 4GB of Software I had to download, not a problem for me, it just took a while, and guess what, NOTHING, now to Apple and my iPhone fairness, I did just choose Update, not Restore & Update, now there it becomes interesting, because when I was updating the phone an error appeared on the screen of my laptop saying something about the phone being disconnected, that is a problem becuase of my old Lighting Cable, not a problem just flip the cab.., Whoops, there goes my iPhone, so now it is stuck in Recovery Mode, and is theoretically BRICKED, that is good and bad at the same time, according to what I am about to tell you now, so I thought, like a motherboard, that if you do something like that in a BIOS Update, then forget it man, but I gived it a shot and googled stuck in Recovery Mode, and found out it is way too easier than I thought, you put the iPhone in something called DFU Mode, and iTunes know you are in some kind of trouble, so I tried doing the Restore & Update thing after that, and it worked better than when it was actually working rather than stuck in Recovery Mode, now that little terrifying incident of "Oh no, I bricked my phone" showed something 1. I thought that that was the end of this phone and I will have to bring it for repair to an Apple Store. 2. Because the iPhone was stuck in Recovery Mode and completely bricked, that meant something good, which is that there wasn't any tracing of software or data absolutely inside the phone, which is great! So, extremely fresh iOS Install, can the issue get resolved, well........ NO, NO IT DIDN'T, after alllll that, nothing happened! I contacted them one more time, this day (today) and told them about this issue, told them that I contacted them before, told them about everything, and they said it might be a hardware issue, and I don't think it is a hardware issue, I was helpful and didn't tell them that, but the screen works absolutely fine, I think this is a problem with the iOS 13.4, it happened the night I just updated it, right after. A repair at an Authorized Apple Service is going to take a lot of money, my PC needs fixing, I am kinda short on money and I am saving, I would do that if I am convinced about it, but I am not, this thread was made for 3 major reasons you need to bare in mind: 1. To tell you guys about this issue, so I hopefully release a little bit of my stress. 2. See if other people have the same issue, maybe on an iPhone 6S or an iPhone SE or the 6S Plus, something, I just want to know if this is an issue I am facing alone, or other people too. 3. Make this popular so Apple may think of releasing a fix for this, because if the issue wasn't wide-spread, I don't think they are going to fix this problem, and I will just have to work on my own here. I didn't think a problem like this can be that serious, that stressful, that HARD. I mean remember guys, that is like 4 cases, around 45 minutes each, excluding the amount of hours I kept puting files from there to there, and troubleshooting, this took me around 3 days of total "fixing" time without finding a solution still, I want you guys to help me out with this, I will be getting a warranty on the fix, so if it still didn't work (and it is more likely too, because I pretty much sure that the problem is software) than I can get my money back, I really hope this issue gets fixed as soon as possible.
  2. Hi Everyone, I'm looking for a gift for my coworker and she uses an iPhone 6/6s. I'm not too familiar with how the charging works on Apple products with the lightning cable and such and whether it has some form of Quick Charge. She's going to be promoted but has helped me quite a bit during my time here. I just wanted to repay her for that so a small parting gift (she'll just be moving to another building) would be nice. I know she lacks some sort of charging cable for her phone and has to borrow from someone else so I was thinking of that. Alternatively maybe a keyboard... but I'm just thinking ... what's special about getting someone a cable versus getting something else? It just doesn't look as appealing haha Thanks!
  3. have a friend who is trying to DC their "find my iphone" on thier i6s and it keeps coming up with this. i haven't had a chance to have a gander myself, but has anyone had any experience fixing this issue, to me it seems like it is a connection problem. but i only know a little about the issue and the main points are, find my iphone not disconnection like it should, even thou it apparently is DCed from the icloud. little help could go a long way fella's.
  4. So I recently discovered a way of switching WiFi and Bluetooth completely off from the control without having to go to settings. You just switch on airplane mode turn off WiFi / Bluetooth then switch airplane mode off. This is still kinda annoying however it’s much easier than going into settings and doing it from there. Thought I’d share because this was something that really annoyed me.
  5. I'll be getting an iPhone 6s soon and intend to charge it at my computer a lot (using an amazon basics lighting to usb cable) and am wondering if this will be as fast as the charger that comes with it. If I remember correctly the amperage of the stock charger is 1.0 amp and I believe usb 3.0 can deliver a maximum of 0.9 amps but in practice this may not make much of a difference in charging speed. Can anyone with experience confirm or deny this?
  6. I am budget concerned, and till date have been using galaxy J1 mini. I am not an apple fanboy. I want to buy a premium phone. In my area, i am getting iPhone 6s 32gb at 400 usd, pixel 128gb at 500 usd, and pixel 2 64gb at 560 usd. Which one will be bang for the bucks? They all are brand new, available with manufacturer warranty.
  7. Hi Guys, I'm looking to change my "old" moto g 2nd gen and I'm torn between Iphone 6s(maybe 7 if it comes out soon) and samsung s7. I had both android and iOS before and enjoy both of them equally, but my problem is that I don't want to change my phone in the near future after buying one of these. Requirements: Reliable for about 3 or 4 years(mine is showing heavy signs of slow performance after 1 year) Won't greatly slow down with a few apps open Doesn't need to tinker around heavily to get best performance out of the box(I know my way around if it is needed, but I don't want to spend too much time figuring out the best settings/root/whatever possible) I know the phone will end up slowing after a few system updates, but I would like to choose the one that will hold up better after a few years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  8. So first thing's first (I'm the realest—excuse me), this is NOT an apple vs android post. That aside, hey guys! I'm new to the forum but I have been following LTT for a long time, forums don't generally appeal to me back then so and since I'm free, I thought I'd give it a shot and see how it goes. Since the internet is such a kind and loving place with no trolls or haters, but filled with sunshine and unicorns, I thought I'd get LTT Forum's opinion on my "predicament". So here's a little background on my situation: So I'm currently using a hand-me-down iPhone 4S 16GB (about time I upgraded, lag too stronk) after my Samsung S3 pooped itself. A little nit-picky but I didn't really like TouchWiz (some iOS stuff doesn't play nice with Android back then and the workaround all involved rooting and tinkering which I'd generally like to avoid since I'd waste too much time) After making receiving the hand-me-down I've gotten too used to the iOS scene and I feel hesitant to make a move back to android, despite how annoying Apple makes transferring items to the device. With all that said, now here's why I'm considering the phones mentioned in the title which I'll list in a pros and cons sort of way: iPhone 6S Samsung S7: Lastly, iPhone 7: Explanation of symbols: ^ = I don't particularly need amaze-balls camera, just a simple point-and-shoot with decent low-lights and fast-ish focus. ^^ = Not sure which storage service I should use, was considering Dropbox but meh... So if you've bothered to read it this far, I'd like to hear your opinion on the matter, of course you're not obliged to explain but doing so would indeed help me! Thanks LTT! Side-note: I might update this post if anyone finds this useful?
  9. Hello! So, I have no idea what happened, but somehow today I cracked the home button on my iphone 6s. The home button still works fine, but touch id doesn't. Not having touch id doesn't bother me too much (although it is nice), however a shattered home button really irritates me. I am fairly comfortable repairing electronics, so this is more of an error 53 question. I have LED logo modded my iphone, so I no longer am able to send my phone to apple to re-activate it after I install a new home button, so I'm not really sure what my options are. Does anyone know of a 3rd party company that would be willing to help me (with a modded iphone) to verify the repair (or even do it if they have a way to verify it)? I could always try to undo the mod, but once someone opens the phone they will know something is different. Also, anyone know what this might cost? Anything you have to say is extremely helpful and appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. -Calvin Edit: So It's looking like I'm going to install a new home button myself, and not restore any of the touch-id features. I'm okay with that. My question now is that I am currently on ios 9.2 (still holding out for a jailbreak). Do I need to be on ios 9.3 before the repair to make sure I don't brick my phone? Or am I safe to do it now? Thanks for the help

  11. Would reinstalling ios and not uploading a backup on my phone solve the battery life issue on my 6s? I already tried reinstalling ios and uploading my old data on there and the problem is still there. The reason im asking this is so I'm sure that whatever is wrong with my phone is hardware related and something I can't fix, so I don't waste my time trying to get my phone replaced. thanks
  12. So, to anyone with an apple device running a recent version of IOS 9, are apps locking up on a daily basis and crashing? It's happening to me on a lot of the apps I use daily. (Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Google drive etc) I just wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing any sort of crashing or lagging.
  13. BEFORE YOU DESTROY ME WITH HATER COMMENTS, I'm coming from a Nexus 6, and switching back to an iPhone. I've had this phone since January, and don't get me wrong, I love it. The screen size (although can be a bit cumbersome with one hand), pixel density, wireless charging, and stock Android. But, I've replaced it three times. The first one randomly shut off right out of the box. The second one, my dog knocked it out of my hand and broke the LCD (not just cracked the screen, there was a cool black splotch that spread through out the screen over time, and the digitizer broke). I'm on my third one, and it fell out of my hand when somebody knocked into me and fell down the stairs. I can't decide between the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 6s Plus. I love the iPhone 6s Plus battery life, pixel density, size, OIS, and landscape in the home screen. But I think I've also dropped my Nexus so much, because it's just too big, and I don't want to do the same thing with the iPhone. That, and I also look normal not having a tablet for a phone. The iPhone 6s also has a LifeProof battery pack case, and I need my LifeProof. Just give me your two cents, which one would you go with and why? Which one do you think would I like better after a Nexus 6?

  15. Which of these new features, pictured below, in the new iphone 6s and 6s+ are actually new to the smartphone industry and what is apple catching up on? New features: 3D Touch - This is sorta new to smartphones. Microsoft had a phone, nicknamed Mclaren, with this feature that when your finger either pressed or hovered on a live tile it would explode into a bunch of tiles. The feature is called Mixview. Will Microsoft implement this feature in the future? Maybe, we will have to see. I also heard from a friend that a couple of android phones had the feature but it's not implemented well. 2nd-generation Touch ID - Finger print scanning is nothing new BUT Apple is the only one that has this particular technology in smartphones. Every other company has to use a different companies tech because Apple bought the company that made the Touch ID hardware. Not new features: Hey Siri available without charging a phone - Google Now and Cortana have had this for quite awhile. Before, you could say "Hey Siri" but only when the device was plugged in to the outlet. Now, you can say "Hey Siri" at any time and siri will activate. Strongest cover glass - multiple generations of phones have been implementing stronger glass, this is no different. LTE Advanced - Not new to smartphones but it's good that Apple updated to the latest in LTE Faster Wi-Fi - Basically, it's a 5ghz band. Phones have had this for maybe 2 years or more. My phone can connect to 5ghz band already. 12mp iSight Camera - While iphones do take good pictures they haven't always been the most up to date. Nokia, Samsung, LG, Sony and others have been implementing better and better camera tech into their phones for years now which take high resolution, low light, low noise, clear pictures. 4k Video - SOOO Last year. Nokia, LG, Samsung and others implemented this capability either last year or early this year. 5mp FaceTime HD - Multiple models of phones have a 5mp or better front facing camera. Live Photos - It's a neat feature but Nokia first released an app that had this years ago, then they implemented "Living Images" into their camera app last year in early 2014. http://www.windowscentral.com/video-living-images-nokia-camera http://www.phonearena.com/news/Video-of-Living-Images-up-close-on-the-Nokia-Lumia-930_id54706 I do not know of any android phones having this capability. If any do, let me know and I will update the post. Unconfirmed if new or not: 7000 series aluminum - I'm sure it's not new to smartphones but I do not know what aluminum other phone makers have used. Retina Flash - There must be a camera app out there that turns your screen white and bright before taking a selfie, I just don't know of any but what this does is I guess actually flash the phones screen white and bright. What features do you think are still missing in the iphone that you already have and use in your own smartphone? Iphone STILL doesn't have wireless charging which no one expected the 6s to have but maybe the 7. Also, you can't use the NFC chip built into the iphone to send and receive files you want to transfer with other smartphone OR NFC tags. If any info is wrong or you think I should add something just comment with either mentioning me or replaying to me and I can change the post.
  16. source: http://truetech.tk/apple/ios/new-apple-iphone-6s-photo-leaks/ Sorry about the weird formatting. The article has some color issues. It's somewhat nice to see some improvements on the 6s. USB-C is great in my opinion, but I can't say how the target consumer would feel about buying new cords. Leave your feedback below.
  17. Like many users, after cracking the first iPhone screen I had years ago, I have come to swear by screen protectors and cases to prevent expensive repairs in the future. However, with the new capacitive touch that Apple is producing in its latest round of iPhones (which other companies are likely to also, ah, be 'inspired by' if it catches on), this brings up something important. The 3D touch, as Apple calls it, allows for some feedback on the screen. I'm really curious as to how this will work with cases or coverings that are used to mitigate screen shattering, as even if Apple is touting a new, stronger screen on the specs sheet [i've had way too much negative experience to trust any phone makers, save Nokai, on their claims of how tough their devices are]. From full coverings like Otterboxes to screen covers like Phantom Glass, how well will this feature carry through? Would introducing another layer of glass protection to prevent shattering dull or eliminate this effect? Have any of the major reviewers (Linus, Austin, Marques, etc) spoken up about doing any investigation into if there are any tradeoffs to be had with screen protectors using this type of technology, and if there are any, whether or not it will be worth said tradeoffs? If someone already has a video (independent, not an advert for a new product line) already up, could someone link it? Frankly, I'm going to be getting a new phone sometime a week or so after launch and supplies are (hopefully) less strained, so I have some time before making a purchase and after the public release of Apple's implementation of the technology to decide whether or not to drop and additional $35 -$60 on a new screen protector.
