Played around a bit with my audio options after getting a new mic recently and I noticed that the audio quality is considerably better when plugging my headphones into into the Front 3.5 mm jack. I tried several direct comparisons and aside from the acoustic range increasing by about 1.2 KHz on the high end and about 5 Hz on the low end, voices are clearer, bass is deeper, highs are more punchy and it is overall just a way better experience. Specs are: Razer Kraken V2 B450 A Pro Max Case: Aerocool Cronus Audio drivers are the Realtek ones (Version 6.0.1.8186) Audio on MB: Realtek ALC892 Both Audio Channels are running at the same bit and sampling rate (24 bit, 48000 Hz), but the front one still sounds considerably better in almost any way. Even increasing both to 24 bit, 192000 Hz yielded no difference at all. Not only in clarity of voices and music is there a difference but also in relative aswell as absolute volume there is a huge difference. This shouldn't be the case though, since the Front Audio ports have to deal with all the interference and potential other problems such as vibrations from the case. I have thought for a while that it might be some audio enhancing going on on the PCB of the front IO, but that is more likely than not just some BS, especially with a case that was only 100€. (If that's even an feature on any case at all) I have tried a variety of small fixes and even completely reinstalled the Realtek drivers and tried the default ones Windows provides, but the difference persists. In conclusion: Is this a common thing, should I be made aware about any potential problems with my Mainboard or the Headset?

So I finally remembered that I have a vita and I am looking for some interesting games for it. I'm not looking for games that are "fps game #852.5". I'm looking for games that use the vita's multitude of features in an unique or interesting way. I'd also like them to last a bit as my budget for games isn't that big... I'm thinking WipEout 2048, Tearaway, Dust Force and Sound Shapes, but this list is really short =D What are your suggestions?

I had a 1050ti I got for a small form factor pc for when I need to travel. Well I decided to see what happens if I dedicate it as a PhysX card for killing floor 2, This was a Ryzen 1600 at 3.8ghz Gtx 1080 Gigabyte G1 gaming - stock clocks, zotac 1050ti low profile stock clocks and 16 gigs of 2400mh flare x ram. I have a 144hz monitor and I love taking advantage of it, but Killing Floor 2 seemed to drop into the 40s at times which is a bit distracting when you're at 144fps then drop to 40; it hurts a little bit. I put the 1050ti in and then having to reinstall drivers because for some reason it was seeing 2 1080's (Not sure why) I dedicated it to PhysX once the issue was resolved. After wards I played Killing Floor 2 for a bit on a few different maps, the one that drops to 40 especially, it stayed above 90 At all times. (1080p Ultra preset Motion Blur Off and Vsync on) The game was paused so the fps counter was at 210 but It doesn't look like the 1050ti was slowing down the 1080, when combat kicked up usage on the 1080 was usually around 97% and the game did feel all around smoother. I thought this whole scenario is neat and all but unless you have a card laying around I don't see it worth doing unless you REALLY find 40 fps distasteful and refuse to drop settings. But it was kinda fun, At least watching my computer have a panic attack and seemingly hyperventilate trying to figure why what it thought was a 1080 wasn't doing what a 1080 could. (i'm probably going to keep this setup since I already have the card and don't really have any other use for it since I won't be going anywhere for a few months.) 1050ti Physx Card.bmp

I just saw on my Youtube recommended list a trailer for a new game called Squadron 42. I can't seem to find it anywhere on Steam, GOG, Origin (yuck), and Uplay. I'm looking for a new game to play that either has a fantastic story or phenomenal gameplay. I am currently going through BoTW for my 100% run and only 80 seeds away from it so just looking for something else to play. I played almost every star wars game (except the new Battlefronts), all The Witcher games (even on Death March or equivalent), Doom 2016, God of War, Spiderman (Ps4, still a sucker for the 99 version though first ever game). Anything will help, I am currently swallowing my sorrow and stress in games because my son is in the NICU and it is hard to see all of those cables running in and out of him.

So while is was changing out the thermal paste on my dell inspiron 5558 I noticed something cool and very interesting on the motherboard. Here's some info on the laptop, it has interrogated Intel graphics which is a hd 4400 to be precise and a intel core i3 4030u. So on the motherboard i noticed a spot in one of the corners that it had a bunch of unused solder points. I took a closer look and saw lettering that said Gpu1 and on two sides of that, Vram 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. Four on each side of the motherboard. Obviously there is no GPU in that spot. I wonder if enough thought went into it and enough work, could you hand solder a GPU chip and vram onto the motherboard. Its just a thought that popped into my head. If you would like a picture I would be happy to show.

I consider myself fairly tech savvy, but I'm stumped. Every now and then, a website will decide that I am Spanish. As an adult student at a college by me, and the first time I noticed it was on their website. I was able to pseudo solve the problem by going into my Chrome settings and insuring my language was english. Now what happens is I'll log in to the site which is initially in spanish, chrome will see that it's spanish and translate it to english for me. It stopped for a while, and most recently it happened again with the Synergy website. This happens across devices (laptop, phone, desktop), so it must be something with how Google or someone identifies me. I speak rudimentary spanish at work and listen to a lot of spanish music, so I can understand why something may have automatically switched over, but how to I get it back?

So I've been busy and haven't been around on the forums much but I'm gonna try to get back in the community. I've got a VM question involving Ubiqutiti UniFi console I'll post in the appropriate sub-forum. Go check it out if you know about that stuff. Also!!! My build log will be starting back up probably in about a month. Thats when I expect to be back ahead with money instead of in the hole. I hope the people that were interested in my build log still are. Will most likely start a new "revival" thread about it in the build log section.

Hi everybody, I'm Kman. I really enjoy watching the WAN show and LTT Videos. I believe that us a community should help aid LTT as we already do in these forums by posting topics for them to discuss, but I think we should take it a step further and make an even more centralized list of topics that we want them to discuss. All topics in the list will chosen by me and ones that are getting a lot of response in the forums. If you do not find something I put in the list interesting just comment in the section below and give me a reason. I would gladly hear your views on the subject. Although, I will check through the forums for topics people are finding interesting, if you think your topic should be on this list just reply to this post and if people seem to have interest in it I will put it one the list. All credit will be given to original post since they took the time to search and find the topic. List is top to bottom being in descending order of community interest.(Incomplete List and Order Will be finished by 12/5/15 @3:30) 1. 11/27/15 Topic: Autonomous Driving Car Racing: Roborace Source: Gizmag The article states "[The] new racing championship will pit driverless electric cars against each other in a round-the-world series. The aim is to provide a competitive platform for the autonomous driving technology that is being developed by automotive and tech firms, as well as universities" (Gizmag). I find this interesting because if a vehicle can travel at 140 mph and take inputs from all its sensors and still manage not to crash would be truly an interesting testing ground for Autonomous Driving Cars. 2. 11/18/15 Topic: Tiger Direct Sold for 14 Million Dollars Original Post: Forums Sources: Twice and Miami Herald As stated by EvilLemur will the company be disappearing [Clearance Sale Anybody?] and all 241 works laid off or is this a great opportunity for them to grow an expand? 3. *Disclaimer: This an unofficial list of Wan show topics so if your topic does not make it into the show that should not be very shocking. ** Order is not yet complete and need to research more topics for complete list I hope to complete the list by Thursday 12/4/15 @3:30 PST *** Yes I know Tiger Direct being sold is kinda old news *****Put topics below and tell me if you disagree with the list so far or agree? Thanks!!!

So in some of my spare time i just decided i wanted to quantify if overclocking Intel graphics 4600 is really worth it. Short answer it isn't, but i wanted to share my experience with what i saw when changing multipliers and voltages Here's the table that took me 10 hours *cough* i mean 10 minutes to make (Do note that my CPU was at 4.7Ghz while running these tests :P) Universe sandbox: Everything is at low settings at 1080p When the games starts 128 fps with 16 multiplier 137 fps with 12.5 multiplier 131 fps with 5 multiplier 35 fps with 1 multiplier When the camera orbits the earth 65 fps with 16 multiplier 58 fps with 12.5 multiplier 30 fps with 5 multiplier 10 fps with 1 multiplier BeamNG.Drive: Everything is at low settings at 1080p When loading the cliff map 38 fps with 16 multiplier 32 fps with 12.5 multiplier 12 fps with 5 multiplier 3 fps with 1 multiplier CSGO: Everything is at low settings at 720p 16:9 When in dust 2 CT side spawn 203 fps with 16 multiplier 192 fps with 12.5 multiplier 102 fps with 5 multiplier 30 fps with 1 multiplier When in dust 2 T spawn (not looking down mid doors) 186 fps with 16 multiplier 179 with 12.5 multiplier 97 fps with 5 multiplier 28 fps with 1 multiplier Looking at a blank skybox 289 fps with 16 multiplier 282 with 12.5 multiplier 166 fps with 5 multiplier 50 fps with 1 multiplier YouTube video: Using a 1080p screen watching Frankieonpc's latest video at 1440p 60 fps for 20 seconds at fullscreen. 12 dropped frames at 16 multiplier 18 dropped frames at 12.5 multiplier 11 droped frames at 5 multiplier 314 dropped frames at 1 multiplier From my experience with this test i would say its a bit disappointing. Since the default clock for the Intel graphics is 12.5 overclocking it to 16 didn't do jack crap xD. And bananasplit can tell most of you that when playing some games with me he observed massive fan noise from my PC through my microphone. And the voltage was bumped from 0.8 volts to 1.25. Temps were reaching 85 degrees on the package temperature mostly all the time while gaming. The extra 10 fps wasn't really worth it, so in conclusion i am sticking with the 12.5 multiplier until my GTX 970 strix arrives at my house :P. So i hope this was a bit helpful and maybe a bit fun to read as it was fun discovering what Intel graphics can do!

You know I've been watching LinusTechTips for a long time, hell they've helped me build my second PC (so much cooler and efficient than my first), and I realized that even though I watch Linus and the crew do all sorts of things like conventions, reviews, and moving updates, I really don't know the employees for the crew. They have a great online presence, but I thought it'd be really cool if they had a video where every member of their crew (old and new members) had like a minute to just show of who they were. I thought this when I realized Linus media group had moved up and gotten their own video. I thought "I'm rooting for these people, and love seeing their progress, but who are they really?". I'd really love to get to know the crew better, it'd just be neat to know while I'm watching the videos who these people are. That being said, I feel I get a lot of personality in each video, but I just don't think anything beats a whole minute devoted to you. Would anyone else be interested in watching something like that?

Hello guys. I was reading the network setups topic a while ago and something came to my mind about how I could improve my setup at home. See, I live in Bulgaria and here usually all the walls in the buildings are from bricks and no dry walls to cut through and lay Ethernet cables in. That is what makes my setup so complicated - it is usually almost impossible to drill through the walls to pass cables between rooms, and not even talking for complete cable runs through the walls. Also, I have an extremely limited budget for my network upgrade. Currently everything that is powering the network is a TP-Link WR841N router. Internet comes in (45/55 via PPPoE, $12 monthly), Wi-Fi comes out. Everything is connected via Wireless. Also, I cannot move the place where the Internet cable enters the house. Almost all of my Ethernet-capable devices (PCs, laptops, TVs..) are in the room next to the one that the Internet connection is coming in. So, that is why I have thought about the following setup: Internet In -> TP-Link WR841N (AP mode) -> Wi-Fi network 802.11N Wi-Fi network 802.11N -> TP-Link WR740N (client mode) -> D-Link DGS-1005D GIGABIT switch -> various clients in the same room (PCs, Laptops, TVs) Wi-Fi network 802.11N -> Tenda W306R (client mode) -> various clients in another room (PCs) In that way, I will have everything I wanted. Gigabit or at least 100mbps speeds between computers in the same room, unbottlenecked 45/55 access to the internet (I have tested the setup with the routers, they are able to pull the connection off via Wi-Fi without almost any reduction in speed), no runs of cable between rooms, and most importantly, everything will be AMAZINGLY cheap. I have loads of Ethernet cable available, so that is $0. I have the 3 routers, so they are also $0. The one thing I have to buy will be the D-Link DGS-1005D, which I found used for $5 (without power adapter). I have found the datasheet and it says it needs 5V@1A. A phone charger 5V@ 2A should be okay. I forgot to mention that I am able to run Ethernet cable within the room (hiding it behind furniture and gluing Ethernet jacks to certain places, as I am not able to drill). This setup will give me a great performance for the investment of $5 total. If I find a way to run at least a 100Mbps link between the different routers/switches, it will be even better, but that is for now. I also forgot to mention that Powerline also isn't an option as it is too expensive for me at the moment. There is no way I can put $90 away for a set of powerline adapters. Give your thoughts on my setup. Just remember all the various restrictions I have in front of me. Thank you

Alright, This is my first time using the Forums here or at all, so please don't be mad at me if this isn't the right way of going about this. I'm using a pretty general Windows 7 Ultimate Computer (With the worst specs in human history) [DDR2 RAM and 2GHz CPU *Dual Core*] and I am going to be traveling to visit family this summer for about two months. Being without my music, my files and my desktop would kill me and I wish to not make a mess of my family's computer's. I have a Seagate goFlex 1TB USB HDD which I want to put my Entire machine on at once, so I can take it with me and use it during the Summer, and then completely copy it over to my computer here when I return so any changes made stick. I have very little knowledge of coding but I enjoy learning more about electronics! Any ideas would be appreciated. I understand my Drive may not be fast enough to boot off of, in which case is there a way I can temporarily copy the boot files to my families computer and just access files from my Portable drive, given I won't (Hopefully) Be modding any of my OS. [There computer is a laptop with more ability then mine, so I can say for a fact that Capability wont be an issue.] Thanks. ~Divide

...or that other people may not have seen before! Requirements: -must be small (smaller than a banana) -must be useful (actually serves a purpose, not just a vegetable) -must be cheap (about $50 or less) In your post: -put a link to a site that sells it (preferably the manufacturer) -put an image of the thing (and maybe a short sentence explaining what it does if it isn't obvious) -put the average price (rounded to the nearest $10) Examples: pocket knife the size of a credit card $5 to $50 depending on model http://www.iainsinclair.com/en/knives.html tritium keychain thingy glows for thousands of years $30 (larger models also available) https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/215798504/merkava-isotope-mini-tritium-fob?ref=shop_home_feat_3

How did I download a 9 year old unpopular series (Winx Club, don't ask), at 6.9MB/s in my own language (Dutch)? If you answer correctly, you are as awesome as the universe, and of course you get an overdue internet cookie!

Right well so the computer was working fine and connecting to the internet fine through Ethernet but then one day I turn it on and login 2 minutes later it turns of i think is a power cut and turn it back on the same thing happens over and over again I get annoyed and leave it. I then think its the pc so I remove the HDD and put it into 2 other pc's and it still didn't work but while I had the Ethernet unplugged I turned the computer on and it worked fine except for the fact it couldn't connect to the internet I also tried a small USB wireless dongle I thought it worked but then turned of again im thinking I might need to reset all the network settings but I don't know how also it turns of as soon as you log in now rather than waiting 2-3 minutes please help I couldn't find anything else. Im running windows xp and I did have a static IP but I removed that. We all like music, and most of us like a variety of music. So what is your 'odd' genre, song, or band that differs from the rest of what you like? Something not many people listen to or know about. Mine is probably 'Electro-swing' I thought this would make an interesting thread.

Just cause 3 was recently confirmed as a sequel to Just cause 2 which was an awesome game. With that said it seems as though it is really happening as you can actually pre-order the game on the "next gen" consoles! Don't believe me? Ok so i am thinking about getting a fullscreen account but i really would like to know more about it and what the benefits would be. My youtube channel is my no means popular but i would still like to become a partner and possibly get the tiny bit of money that i might be able to get, to help with proper lighting and sound. So can anyone explain to me what this is, how it works, and anything else that i might need to know.
