A couple hours ago, I was minding my own business playing Minecraft (mc.ltt.gg) when all of the sudden my Bluetooth headphones disconnect and reboot. I waited a couple seconds for them to reconnect but they never did. I check the Bluetooth settings menu in windows and click reconnect but then it said that there was no detected Bluetooth adapter, which was strange. I uninstalled the drivers and rebooted, but it seemed like windows didn't even try to do anything so I installed the Bluetooth drivers directly from asus's website and rebooted, still nothing. I dual boot my PC with Ubuntu and windows so I rebooted into Ubuntu hoping for something different but it was the same story. Does anyone know if there is any fix to this problem. pc specs: i7-7700k asus rog GTX 1070 asus rog strix z270e gaming motherbord evga 750watt 80+gold sumsung 850 evo (windows 10 64 bit) sk hynix sc300 (ubuntu 20.04) segate berracuta 2tb lg bluray drive hp oem dvd drive corsair h100i aio watercooler

Hi, I have an old PC and I am looking for a fast and cheap upgrade. I want it for productivity (Matlab) and some basic gaming in 1080p, not really high details. I have an ASRock P67 Pro3 Motherboard with an Intel i5 2300 with 16GB of DDR3 RAM. Does it worth upgrading to an intel i7 3770 for ~100€? If I get it and replace the i5 2300 with the i7 3770 will it require immediately or will it require a format? Thank you for your help. Best, Antonis

Hey guys, So I'm currently in process of rebuilding my PC. I have a 2080 Ti etc, so price is not an issue. I was looking to get the i9 9900K but I'm under the impression that Intel is due to release 10th gen at some point in the next few weeks. Is it worth waiting for those? Do we know if any of the 10th gen are going to be better and optimised for gaming like the 9900K? Before the red army jumps on this, I'm not interested in AMD, but thank you

Hello, I am kind of new to the PC master race. I'm having trouble with wich CPU to buy, Intel's Kaby Lake G4600 Or AMD's Fx-8300. Just keep in mind I am a person who likes to be on a budget.

It is a know rumor that X299 chipsets being leaked everywhere. While at it, AnandTech forum member "Sweepr" posted some interesting specs about upcoming processors (could be a rumor). Listing out some interesting processor naming scheme such as Intel Core i9. This list includes CPUs that are listed for release in June, though there is also Intel's rumored 12-core Skylake-X flagship, which is listed for an August release. If the above table is true, they're after AMD to smash their Ryzen 7 lineup. Looking at those 7820x and 7900x those Boost Clock speeds are higher than Ryzen 7 1800x. This could be useful in many ways! - L2 cache = 1MB (Skylake-X), 4x as much as Core i7-7700K - Dual DDR4-2666 for Kaby Lake-X / Quad DDR4-2666 for Skylake-X - 112W for Kaby Lake-X / up to 160W for Skylake-X - Apparently all Core i9 parts support AVX-512 (TBC) - Launch in June, except 7920X (August) For 10-Core Skylake-X benchmark, Click Here. For 12-Core Skylake-X benchmark, Click Here. From WCCFTech (obviously not the best place for trustworthy source) As for the pricing, Intel could price this over $2000. Because, previously i7-6950x was priced around 1700 bucks. So, they'll definitely increase the price for i9, if this is true. Source: OverClock3D.net, AnandTech, WCCFTech.

Hey there, I have recently built a new PC with the following parts: - Intel i5 6600K 3.5GHz - Hyper 212X CPU Cooler - ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING Motherboard - 16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4-2400 RAM - EVGA GTX 1060 3GB Graphics Card - Corsair VS550 AXT Power Supply - NZXT Source 210 Elite and a few other parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/LFrL7h When I try to boot the PC, the red SB_PWR LED is on, red and breathing. But pressing the on button OR shorting the board from the pwr_switch header doesn't do ANYTHING. No noise, beeps, fans or extra lights - just nothing. I have tried taking out one and both RAM sticks, removing the GPU and the hard drive, to no luck. I have reseated all plugged in cables. Any advice appreciated.

I have decided to wait for the next gen gpu as I have a 970 and always like to skip a gen or 2 before upgrading however I'm debating weather to upgrade the rest of my system as it is a few years old now. What are your thoughts on the i5 4690k? Is it still relevant or is it now outdated? Most games are now pushing it to about 80 - 100% usage.

Hi, I am planning for a DAW PC but stuck with a grueling question; Which CPU gen should i bet on - 6, 7, or 8 in order to assemble a system with prolonged compatibility with relevant chipset? I know that each year better CPUs are getting better. Recently Intel went on a rampage releasing new sockets and chipsets TOO FREQUENTLY with TOO LITLE OF A GAP. So which generation CPU and which chipset motherboard should i go for long term upgradability. Currently thinking about: LGA-1151 Socket CPUs (6th or 7th gen) Chipset: Q250 or H270 PS: I don't abuse my system. So, when i say "long term", i know that under a reasonable amount and well care, it will run for many years.

Hi I just wanted to ask if i have made a bad purchase of a 4790k since people been saying the new stuff is comming out I upgraded from an i5 4460 have 16 gb of ddr3 1600mhz, msi gtx 1070 gaming x, motherboard asus b85g r2.0 and cooler master 550 watt psu. I made the purchase since I saw that the quad core was getting 100% usage in games like bf 1, gta 5, and the division which is games i play i was also surprised i could not crank all the setting in the division but i read online that the nvidia settings kills fps by half so i left that off. So I just wanted to ask if i made a bad purchase so that i can refund the cpu n just save up to buy a whole new computer like everyone i know is telling me to do so but the thing is that i built this pc this year like 6 months ago idk like building another one already feels a bit to fast for me, so what do you guys think what do you suggest?

It's been awhile since I've played with computers. I've always been a tactile person, and can take pretty much any physical object apart and put it together again...and have it work too Any way, I decided I want to build another computer after a decade, and some things have changed. Others haven't, I'm still broke.... I was on Amazon.ca and found a new store with some pretty good pricing. I picked up two sticks of Kingston 8gb Ddr3-1600mhz memory for $21.00, and that's pretty dam cheap. Yeah, I know that's not the right order of buying parts, but I'm already committed. I want to carry on that cheapness and need some advice of where to go for a motherboard and cpu. I have a few old cases, an old antec 450watt psu, dvd player, 2 x 128gb ssd's, a few hdd up to 500 gb, a monitor, keyboard, and gaming mouse. Max I'll spend is $300.00. -I found this motherboard for $100.00; MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard -I found this graphics card for $200.00; ASUS GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB PHOENIX Fan Edition DVI-D HDMI DP 1.4 Gaming Graphics Card (PH-GTX1050Ti-4G) -And I was leaning towards an i5 such as this for $235.00; Core i5-4690K --- total C$535.00 As you can see I'm already way over budget. Help me pare down my choices. This is primarily for gaming, first person shooters is what I like. Thanks, Richard

Hey all, So been waiting to get enough funds for my computer and new things just keep happening. With the release of the new Intel Core i9-9900Ks coming out soon, I wanted to see if it would be worth waiting because of a possible price drop in the Intel Core i9-9900K? Also, would there be a chance there's no price drop as the new one could just be more expense or its just a extra $20 knocked off. Overall seeing if it's worth waiting until October as it looks like I am going to be ready to buy by next week or so. Look forward to hearing any idea's! Thanks!

I recently found a PC for sale. I'm trying to replace components on my current rig. I have found a PC listed at 250. The parts I'm concerned about is the Intel i7 3820 processor and the DX79TO X97 mobo. I've read some good reviews about this processor. Heard nothing about the mobo. Current rig a FX6300, 16gb ram, and a Asus m5a99X evo r2.0. Would this be a decent deal for a used PC. I know the dangers of used computer parts. The reason why I want this PC is because of the other parts I could hold for building another PC.

Hello all, I am new to the forum but not new to LTT, I am a tinkerer as a lot of folks are that haunt any of the forums. I build custom PC stuff just for the fun of doing it and you will often fin me commenting on case mod posts. the purpose of this thread is to have your say about why you use the CPU that you do. I only want your opinion about your personal choice of CPU. PLEASE DO NOT berate someone for their personal choice the topic is WHY YOU CHOSE YOUR CPU not why is everyone else stupid for thier choice. People choose the processor they have for sometimes very personal and private resons which are none of your business to judge and copmpletely inappropriate to comment on so don't put others down and call them stupid or tell then that they use a Sh**y CPU just tell me why you use what you have and why you decided to go that route. For the record I own and use both, none of my personal tech is new in fact most of it is more than 6 years old and some is more than 10 years old. My current daily driver is a 6 year old. core i7-3770 on a Lenovo Mobo coupled with an Nvidia GTX 650TI Boost which also happens to be about 6 years old. I game on it everyday and get about 80 fps on Medium high 1080p settings. Why do i run this processor? Honestly because the PC was free other than my time to clean everything, gut the Lenovo ThnikCentre SFF case and make all the stock parts fit into my CoolerMaster elite 430 series case.....there are a few mods in there but none are for better perfomance other than cooling, and power I can hear some of you screaming in the night , WHY??? I have done it because that is what I like to do with PC's Here are all the specs on my current toy Lenovo M82 ThinkCentre Motherboard; 03T8227 Q75 LGA-1155 8GB (2X4GB) Hynix DDR3 1600Mhz RAM CPU; Core I7-3770 75W GPU; Nvidia GTX 650TI Boost PSU; Thermaltake 600W 80+ Bronze plus the 24 pin to 14 pin adapter for the Lenovo mobo Storage; Intel Pro 2500 series 180GB SSD (boot drive) WD Caviar Blue 7200 RPM 500GB HDD Cooling; CoolerMaster EVO Hyper 212 air cooler 3X 120mm fans 2 in case and on on air cooler Optical drive; (X2) Pioneer DVD RW and a LightScribe DVD RW Case; CoolerMaster Elite 430 (modified) come on and tell me whatcha got!

hi, I'm new here, in fact just created an account, and was hoping I could find a decent gaming/video editing desktop/laptop for relatively cheap. Amazon and newegg have some pretty good prebuilts, but cost an arm and a leg, plus a fortune. I currently have been playing linux games on my samsung chromebook 3(DONT RECOMMEND FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN SIMPLE ITCH.IO GAMES) since my ASUS m2n sli deluxe mobo borked

Hey Guys, Im new here and I had some questions if anyone could help out, my set up is: CPU: i7-9700K GPU: RTX 2070 MOBO: MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon AC RAM: 32 GB of Corsair DDR4 3000 MHZ When I upgraded my RAM from 16 to 32 Gb, it reset my windows back and didn't let me log into windows. It kept saying it couldn't troubleshoot it. I had to reinstall it, after I did I saw a significant drop in my FPS for some games. CSGO went from 300 FPS to 150-180, GMod went from 110 FPS to 60-70, Minecraft went from 200-300 FPS to 100-140, etc. Im not quite sure what caused this, can anyone help out?

Hello all i am hoping the get a fresh perspective to why a business class high end laptop is giving me that much bs... basically the issue is that the proccessor turbos to about 3.58 and it stays there even when the utilization is at like 20% and i cant figure out why, disabled intel speedstep technology hoping that would solve it and with my account it stayed on a stable 1.9ghz... base clock is 1.7 i believe but when boss logged in to his account it turbod to 3.58 and stayed plus the cooler literally is a like boeing engine when it turbos and stays there so im looking for inspiration why it does not turbo down... power settings have been checked it has active cooling policy when plugged in and also minimum state of 5% and max of 100% when plugged but i can not find out why it turbos to 3.5 and just stays there... like i am at a loss... if any1 has a new perspective i would be really grateful

TL;DR see last paragraph Someone I know is in the process to either purchase pre-built (OPTION 1) or build his own desktop (OPTION 2). The short version of what he had in mind is: - Intel Core i5 8th generation CPU Coffee Lake-S, could be 7th generation if major bargain mostly to lower price tag (so he is not against a Core i7 8th gen, or 7th gen with reduced price) Note: he does not intend to get a CPU with a K or X, no overclocking, liquid cooling, etc so likely i7-8700 or i5-8400, could also be i5-8500 or i5-8600 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050TI or above with SSD storage and enough DDR4 RAM memory in order to smoothly run Lightroom, Photoshop and casual light gaming. He also would like to not exceed $1200 CAD. OPTION 1 In the pre-built, he could get the Dell XPS 8930 (https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/desktops/new-xps-tower/spd/xps-8930-desktop/dxps8930ms_fsb_h13e) with less RAM and a HDD and no video card iniatially, and later on add what he would like. OPTION 2 Building his own, it could be an ASUS motherboard, with the LGA1151 socket and ... the B360 chipset I guess, he is not going to get a CPU with a K or X, he won't overclock, liquid cool etc. Anyway, since RAM, SSD and video card are going to be anything that fit in the CPU/motherboard, the reason of this post is not to get suggestion on parts and pricing for the entire system. In the past, that person bought a motherboard/CPU with a low volume, uncommon socket, and he had very little support with it, and so he had a bad experience on that level. The reason of this post is to check if any of you know how common the LGA1151 socket is. Even in the case that these would be the last CPUs/motherboards for that socket, if it has been used in a lot in past products it could mean that there is some longevity, future-proofness of such a system; can we expect Intel and motherboards companies to offer support for the coming years?

So I got a new computer about a month ago and I got some help from a friend of mine that has some experience to overclock it, I got a stable overclock on my i5-8600k @4.8GHz but only at 1.300Voltage, (at 5Ghz I get bluescreens at any voltage up to 1.400V) my friend proceeded to tell me 1.300Volt is a lot and that he would not want his cpu to be running at a voltage that high, so I would want to ask any of you if this is dangerous, could I maybe fry my cpu ? Or does it shorten my cpu's lifespan ? Any replies are helpful.
