I just wanted to know what's up with all these dell laptops having weird electric crackling noises? i thought dell was supposed to be excellent but i guess not. I own a 7000 series and just received it from Amazon yesterday, however when it is plugged in and especially when scrolling i here a crackling noise. When removing the charger the sound goes, so does stop scrolling using the trackpad. When i searched online, it seems a lot of other models have this same issue and dell has been ignoring posts on their own forums regarding this issue. Any fixes or updates i should know about? I have attached a video of the issue, if you turn your volume up you can hear it clearly. Thanks in advance. 1496194953_WhatsAppVideo2022-11-23at8_10_14PM.mp4

I bought an Inspiron 7706 2-in-1 about 3 years ago, and since the purchase, I've experienced random crashes. I believe the Best buy comments there are people experiencing the same here is my journey. Please remember to add to your joy while reading this that I called Dell in-between every step at least 3 times their fix was always always always, some new driver( either on their website or their updater or windows) , and if there was any available they got me off the phone and said that was all they could do. It wasn't until some angry and abusive language and a list of the troubleshooting steps that they finally caved and sent someone to replace the motherboard. I replaced the RAM no fix. I remember updating from Windows 10 to 11 was a hassle, but I believe that was due to the new drive not being partitioned correctly. I removed the stock PCIe3 Optane for a Samsung PCIe4 drive. I didn't know that was what was stopping me, but somehow, with a USB, I forced my way into Windows 11. Updating from Windows 10 to 11 on the new SSD still didn't fix the issue, so I began to believe it was a manufacturing defect from Dell. Dell come out to replace the entire motherboard, but the crashes still occur. A "recent" update seems to have made it much less frequent, which has me assuming it's something to do with software somewhere some how. I'm not sure what update did it, but it just became less frequent. I had a problem updating to one of Windows 11's updates it was a big Service update I believe, it would sometimes download but stop around 5% or download fully but never install or finish installing . This due to what I believe was that partition issue, but after not being able to figure out how to do that conveniently, I gave up. However, I noticed that one day my PC was able to do it on its own because that update was no longer offered and my pc was finally Up to Date. Currently my SSD is 100% full (not sure if it's related but I don't think it should be) so I bought a cheap desktop I'm going to use to back up any important files and I'm completely wiping this laptop. If I missed something or if there is anything I can do please let me know I think i will be writing all zeros to my drive as kind of recommended in the new LTT video. For clarity here is the order of my changes RAM SSD Win 10-11 Motherboard Random Win Update (Made issue less frequent)

I found this affordable WiFi 6E card that I wanna put on my old Dell Inspiron 15R laptop as I'm giving this away to a family member. I've had an annoying experience where my old Lenovo laptop from 2014 wasn't able to work with a newer WiFi card due to some BIOS lockdown. Do Dell laptops have that same thing? This video showed that it's a PCIe card.

Okay, so I purchased a Dell Inspiron 16 7610 on February 2022. I started having trackpad issues like EVERYONE who owns this model. The only way to repair the trackpad is using a hardware type of repair. Replacing the trackpad or updating software or the BIOS, will NOT fix the trackpad from jumping around and not working all together. Here is the way to repair it permanently: Root cause of the issue: THE TRACKPAD IS NOT GROUNDED CORRECTLY ELECTRICLY FROM THE FACTORY How to fix the problem: GROUND THE TRACKPAD TO THE TOP CASE Here is the video I found on YouTube to do the DIY repair - youtube.com/watch?v=4xGq5gmKEAA I did the repair and my Inspiron 16 7610 trackpad is perfect now and has been for 10 months. THIS POST IS TO ASSIST FRUSTRATED PEOPLE WHO WANT TO FIX THIS ISSUE, BECAUSE DELL STILL REFUSES TO RECOGNISE THE ISSUE AND RECALL THE LAPTOP OR REPAIR THE ISSUE CORRECTLY. HOPE THIS HELPS ;)

So I have this Dell Inspiron 7386 that I "fixed" (all I did was do a fresh windows install) and it works pretty much fine besides the Bluetooth. Now, it does have Bluetooth, I have connected Bluetooth devices to it in the past, but whenever I do get it working, it ceases to function after a reboot. I have tried nearly everything I can think of, I used Dell's SupportAssist software to auto install the drivers, manually got the drivers off of Dell's site, and even changed the startup behavior of the Bluetooth services on the laptop. The only things that have made the Bluetooth start to work was re-installing Windows 10, upgrading to Windows 11, and updating my BIOS, but the Bluetooth immediately ceases to function after a reboot. Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello All, I have an older decommissioned work laptop that I have been working on refurbishing. It is a Dell Inspiron 15 5567 with an Intel 7th gen i5, dual-core CPU. I completed a RAM upgrad and a HDD to SSD upgrade that both went well. I then used the laptop as a stationary work-from-home machine for a few weeks. I then took it a step farther and attempted a battery replacement and thermal paste re-application over this past weekend. After putting the machine back together, I could not get to the Dell splash screen. I hit the power button, power button LED and front indicator LED both come on solid white, fans come on pretty close to full tilt, I don't get any sort of display, laptop stay powered on with fans going for about a minute, then shuts off. I do not get any error LEDs. I took the machine completely apart the next day using Dell's support manual and put it back together. I replaced the thermal place a second time as part of this process. I still get nothing. I can get the machine to do this start-to-shut-down sequence on either battery power or with AC power only (battery unplugged from MB). I've done a couple troubleshooting steps. Dell outlines a process to reset the Real Time Clock (RTC) but I can't seem to get it to take. I've tried just holding the power button with no battery or AC power connected to get rid of any residual power on the MB. I have also tried booting without RAM installed, BIOS battery removed, SSD uplugged, etc. basically trying to rule out faulty parts. Could it be possible I used too much thermal paste when re-applying? When I took the heat sink off the first time I did notice there was only a thin layer of paste applied to the heat sink itself. When I re-applied thermal paste, I put it on the chips themselves. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I have a Dell Inspiron 3470 at work that I used to have some weird problems with random processes having high disk usage and quite oftenly the task manager would show 100% disk usage but it wasn't very bad, it was still usable, until all of a sudden it got weirdly slow with lots of stutters in certain apps, like, I had to join a meeting on Teams and I could hear the voices just fine but the program would take forever to respond and the video would freeze for minutes, display a new frame and freeze back again. I got sick of it and used the Dell recovery boot and had it download a fresh windows to make the cleanest install as possible and yet even after a fresh install of windows I'm still having issues. When I open any browser it stutters like crazy but when I open explorer or some other apps it seems very fast like a fresh install would feel. I had a feeling it was the HDD then ran the Dell full verification, no errors were found. Ran Malwarebytes and also nothing found. I already updated everything I could and no luck, now I'm a bit lost on what could it be, any help is highly appreciated.

Hi, I own a Dell Inspiron 7567 (i7-7700HQ with a 1050 Ti gpu) and am planning to buy a monitor with AMD freesync. I've heard that freesync works with Nvidia cards but only through display port. Since 7567 only has a HDMI 2.0 port, I was wondering if I plugged the monitor into the laptop through USB 3 with an adapter for display port, would that work and if it did would the USB be connected directly to the dgpu or the igpu. I'm kinda sure that it'll work but I'm not sure if it would have any difference in performance compared to connecting it through HDMI. Has anyone ever tried this, if so are there any issues with doing it like this?

Ok so I got a new laptop and I just tried CSGO on it. It ramped up really high and the fans were decently loud. I have an Inspiron 15 7510. Specs are i7-11800H, RTX 3050ti, 512 SSD, 16GB RAM. Is it designed for gaming? I cant find too much about it. What is the base temps at idle I should be looking at? Please help...

Hi there, all. I've ran into an issue with my Dell Inspiron 15 7567 lately. This started happening a few days ago, and I have no battery installed, i'm running off AC power. The processor usually runs at 60-68 C and the laptop has enough airflow and is not dusty, but not powered by an external cooler. So, to the issue. Whenever I launch a game, or have a demanding process, the processor clocks down 10 MHz at a time until it reaches 0.45 GHz (as low as i've seen it go), then it goes back up to 3 GHz if it wants to, if not, to 1 or 2 GHz frequency. It basically does what it wants, and I want it to run at a constant powerful speed all the time. I'm not sure if I should go into the BIOS and fiddle around with settings, but I literally cannot play games or multitask on a gaming laptop because of this issue. I pull up HWMonitor and Task Manager and it gives me all the info I need, i don't really know how to read if the temperatures and voltages are fine on there by the way. Although, when I browse casually and don't overload it, the processor stays at a constant 3.09 GHz. Please help, if anyone has any ideas do let me know and if you need any other information in order for you to assist me please do ask and I will gladly provide. Thank you!

Hi, I would like to share my experience with Dell to complete the results of Secret Shopper 2. I live in France so maybe your experience can be better in other regions. So, for my studies I bought a Dell 2 in 1 inspiron 13.3'' directly on the website. 2in1 to be able to annotate the 60 pages PDFs that teachers give us and an I7 with 16GB of RAM to do some little MATLAB and solidworks work on it.) , which is a very honest price (in France) for the services and the quality I thought I had.) , which is a very honest price (in France) for the services and the quality I thought I had. For me Dell has always been a good brand, as I have some 15-year-old computers or screens which still works today. After 2 weeks, I received it. I was very happy (It was a long time that I didn't buy or build a computer for me.) , everything works fine, I used it at school, until two weeks later a bug appeared, which is when I close the lid, sometimes there is a BSOD and the computer restart in diagnostic mode. Then, when I open it, I see that there is no problem, and I lost all my open documents. This is very annoying, some days later after updating BIOS and Drivers, the bug is still there, so I call the technical service, I explained the problem and they proposed me to send a technician to my house to change MB and SSD. The following week the technician came to change the parts and he said at the end that I had to reinstall Windows. First negative point to Dell. Thankfully, I know how to do it, but after an afternoon of driver installs, the computer was glitchy and I discover that my keyboard had no more backlighting. So the next day I called Dell again, and they propose to send a technician to change the keyboard the following day. But five minutes the BSOD reappeared, I was very angry, and I recall Dell, to know if there is a way to be refund or to change completely the computer. But I think the guy at the phone was deaf, he just had to the keyboard replacement, the MB and SSD replacement again. But he didn't respond to my question, then, I wrote a killing message on the dell forum, and 30 minutes later I received a call from Israel, it was dell's technical support to say to me that the demand of refund was accepted and that I have to wait 48 to 72 hours to receive a call from the service that is in charge of refund to know how to get my money back. But it was three weeks ago, I don't receive this call, and I can't contact dell by phone (I need a service number that I don't have.) or by mail (they don't respond.). So, yesterday I sent a letter to Dell. Hoping, they will respond positively. To conclude for the moment, I have a $1500 computer that I bought for studies that was very good at the beginning, but it doesn't work as expected. If I can get my money back I'll take a Lenovo that's pretty sure. Dell needs to improve a lot to see me again buy a new computer from them. I hope for you to not have problems with Dell at least in Europe. Voila voila. I just wanted to share my experience as a complement to Secret Shopper 2. Excuse my French....

A while back, I loaned a friend my Dell Inspiron 15 5555, and he managed to break the connector on the charger. Dell wanted 60 bucks for a new one, and I found that too steep and went on eBay to buy an aftermarket one. This didn't work entirely, as the laptop would give a warning on bootup saying that it didn't recognize the charger as an official Dell charger, and the battery wouldn't charge off it, giving the message "Plugged in, not charging." After some digging, I found that Dell adds a data pin on their chargers, and if the motherboard doesn't get any power from it, telling it that it's an official Dell-brand charger, it won't charge, thus preventing the use of aftermarket chargers. After some more research I found this video showing how to bypass this annoying "feature" by removing a diode on the motherboard. However, it's a different model than mine, and I don't know if it could be done on my board. Is there any way to fix this issue other than coughing up an enormous amount of money for a Dell logo? I was really hoping to spend money on an actual hardware upgrade for the laptop, not fixing a manufacturer-created issue.

I just got a laptop that boot up to windows in like 10+ minutes with a ssd. And the fan spin 2-3 sec after the powerbutton is pressed. When i took it apart and tested, these three compoments are faulty. Anyone can name these parts or have a fully schematics of this mobo or the VCore-s? I don't want to buy the schematics. The laptop: Dell Inspiron 15 5759(i3 version), with a 240GB Kingson SSD.(And a 0% battery, with 45W aftermarket charger if this matter.)

dell Thoughts on the 2022 Dell Inspiron 14
shutupzac96 posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
I work for an Android news site, and when not using my desktop I've happily used my OG Google Pixelbook for on the go writing. Sadly, we've changed what CMS we use, and the Pixelbook chugs when trying to load it, and the new UI is cramped on the small screen. While looking at Black Friday deals, I knew the one thing I wanted was to not go down to 1080p, as the resolution of the Pixelbook has spoiled me over the years. Just came across this, which is available for £780 in the UK (£250 off) plus 3% off with my friend's dev discount, so £756 Looking for reviews, I can't find any of this variant, and Short Circuit only reviewed the 2021 model. Link: https://deals.dell.com/en-uk/productdetail/flwm The specs are: i7-12700H Intel Iris XE 512GB NVMe 16GB of DDR5@4800MHz 14-inch anti-glare display at 2240x1400 Wi-Fi 6e 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports 1 Thunderbolt™ 4.0 port with DisplayPort™ and Power Delivery 1 Universal headset jack 1 HDMI 2.0 port 1 Power Adapter port Micro SD It's green and matches my S22 Ultra and Watch 4 lol If anyone has any experience with the 2022 models I'd love to hear what you think of them. Additional: I'll be using my desktop rig for gaming 99.9% of the time, but I could throw my old 1060 6GB into a GPU dock over thunderbolt if I wanted to be stupid with this thing -
It has 16Gb ddr3 1333 Mhz memory, a 500Gb HDD, And an intel pentium. What should I upgrade? I only have a budget of 30 USD

stuttering Stuttering when playing on Dell Inspiron 14 5490
Lepiyao posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I just bought a Laptop like 3 months ago for my little brother, it was Dell Inspiron 14 5490 (because he doesn't want the heavy and big laptop but still wanna play games ) i5 - 10210U 8 Gb RAM GeForce MX 230 512 Gb SSD (I think thats all the important specs) I'm trying to play Dota 2 and some random games using this laptop while on Wi-Fi and it stutter. I even put all the setting on Dota 2 to the lowest setting and still stutter (but in my NVIDIA Geforce Experience it can handle on Medium setting). I already disable the game DVR on win 10 and still stuttering. How it stutter : You're in the map, scrolling through the map it skips frames While killing mobs it skips frames and sometimes freeze for 2 seconds then turn normal again While using skills (sometimes) and if there's a lot of mobs around it skips frames and sometimes freeze Anyone got an idea, how should i make this laptop better at playing games ? Thanks -

I am really looking at getting the Dell Laptop Linus recently reviewed, It looks like a steal with 16GB Ram, 7700HQ, 128GB SSD and a 1050ti. AND a keyboard backlight, I really want a laptop with one, it will be so much easier to see the KB at night. I also really like the look of the fully red version. (http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-15-7567-laptop/pd?oc=cn56702&model_id=inspiron-15-7567-laptop) But people are complaining about the screen in the reviews, Now i use Flux, and a really cheap 1366x768 laptop screen on my Acer Aspire, Is it really that bad? And i also hear the SSD is a bit crap, I am used to a Mech drive, so it will still be a bit faster i hope. And in truth is there anything better that can be around the same price and just as good if not better, that also looks awesome in some way. Or have i set my eyes on something that is actually a good idea? My requirements: Decent graphics power, Want to actually be able to video edit with Blackmagic Davinci Resolve, and render images quite quick with Paint Dot Net (On a 4K external monitor if possible) and game at mid-high settings. Quad core CPU (NOT HT) So that it is actually not really bad at multitasking More than 4GB of ram. That is what i currently have, and it is super bad. OK battery life, I would like it to not die instantly when i unplug it during gaming. Also if i do buy it, What is the cheapest place i can buy the fully red version of it? (The 7700HQ 1050ti model)

Hello guys, A friend of mine has this computer, a Dell Inspiron 3847 and one of his fans is crooked and might need replacement. I'm really not sure about what I should do, when I google it I apparently have only one choice and it's a X755M fan but it's not produced anymore and it seems weird to me that there would be only one fan allowed on that motherboard. Could you guys help ? That'd be great ! What kind of fan should he buy ?

So i got this Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series laptop which has a intel HD 4400 gpu and a display of resolution 1366x768 at 60Hz. the first thing i noticed is its display, the images just dont look sharp,i firstly thought it was the graphics drivers so i downloaded latest drivers and installed them but this didnt change anything. i feel there is more noise in the image than in my older laptop which had a older intel gpu with a display of resolution lower than 1366x768. Its kinda weird because when u look at the specs it should be the other way around,is there any way of finding out whether my display is bad or is it normal?thanks

Hello! I have a Dell Inspiron 660 that I bought a Corsair CX650M power supply for, so it could power my spare Asus GTX 580 DirectCU II. The problem I encouterd is that the power LED's doesn't light up on the graphics card when the power was switched on, but it would light up when I pressed the start button, but there's no image on my screen. I tried to put it in my ordinary computer, which has a Cooler Master G650M power supply in it, and then the graphics card would work and power on as normal. Could this be a faulty PSU? Or maybe it doesn't work with the motherboard, which I doubt, but you never know. Appreciate all the help I can get!
