I would like to build my first pc, and have been saving up for a few years now. I put together this pc, but would like to hear some more qualified people opinion on it. Im also not entirely sure which companys gpu, storage, and psu I should use. I dont mind spending a little extra on rgb just not crazy amounts. I will mostly use the pc for heavy gaming and school work. It would also be nice to know which parts I should upgrade in the future. Thank you for the helpful feedback in advance! Hello everyone. As the topic headline states what would you like to see Nintendo implement in their next console? Personally if it is a switch successor i would like to see a lot of improvements. All base models of the new switch (let’s call it switch 2) to be with a 720p OLED screen a) Why 720p not 1080? it is for battery life reasons. if the game runs natively on 1080p and is just downscaled to 720p while in handheld mode and has a consistent 60 FPS many people (at least those who I interact with would be willing to compromise) More Powerful Hardware: A new Nintendo Switch SHOULD be upgraded hardware capabilities, including a more powerful processor (possibly if NVidia Ada Lovelace or a custom silicone but with GDDR6 memory instead of GDDR6X (more power hungry), improved graphics performance, and increased memory capacity (from 4 to possibly 8 or 10 gigs). This would allow for better graphics, smoother gameplay, and the ability to handle more demanding games. Personal note/want: If Nintendo implements Frore Systems whisper quiet cooling solution I would be VERY impressed Docked mode as a MINIMUM of 1080p 60FPS (this is a NEED TO HAVE!!!) and possibly natively 1440p and with proper DLSS (if they go with NVidia chips) 4k 60 (this is a WANT not a need) Backwards compatibility with the original switch games (cartridge's); As someone who travels from Germany to the Netherlands and Bulgaria cartridges are a great way to trade with other people from the community therefore, for many people a buying decision would actually be "Can I play the games I already payed full price or 30% off (Nintendo's biggest deal on a physical copy of a game that I have seen) on the new console?" a) But why would you want that? Well having backwards compatibility with older titles helps both the consumers who already have a decent library of games to actually buy the new console and the game companies who WILL have incentive to keep updating the games and issue updates with improved graphics for the switch 2 (moving from 540i or 720p 30 fps to 720 60 FPS and 1080p 60 FPS and above in docked mode) Who would not want to see their Favorite Fire emblem / Xenoblade / Persona character in FHD? Improved Battery Life: Extending the battery life is always appreciated, especially for gamers who enjoy playing on the go. Enhancements in power efficiency and battery technology could lead to longer playtimes between charges Joy-Con Improvements: Addressing the drifting issue that some users have experienced with the original Joy-Con controllers would be a significant improvement (what i mean here is; CHANGE TO ELECTROMAGNETIC JOYSTICKS YOU CHEAP FUCKS), I am well aware that a single company actually holds hundreds if not thousands of patents for joystick features and it is more of a licensing issue than anything else. The above statement is also valid for the switch pro controller. In all honesty I would change the joysticks myself but my soldering skills are nonexistent and I would honestly like to see analogue buttons on the L LZ R RZ buttons. Increased Storage: A larger internal storage capacity would be beneficial (32 gigabytes is nothing!), most long term users I have interacted with find the current storage space limiting. Sure there is a DS card expansion bay but even if you get the 128gigabyte one (as most users do) at some point you will see that filled up very fast. I have most of my games on a cartridge's and I’m already half full on my external storage just from patches. Now imagine you buy mostly online, you need a patch to play a game and need to download a game and that storage fills up very quickly! Online Services and Connectivity: Enhancements to the online infrastructure, including more stable online multiplayer and a more intuitive user interface for online services, would be welcomed feature. The following is just me wanting more stuff that would inherently benefit a lot of people (basically me being greedy and spoiled) A. Multimedia Support: Incorporating multimedia features into the dock, such as the ability to play Blu-ray discs. B. Stream content from popular streaming services, would make the Switch a more well-rounded entertainment device. C. Compatibility with Older docks to play at least 1080p 60FPS games since it is HDMI 1.2 D. Improved Stability: Enhancing the stability of the dock, both in terms of physical support and durability. (ngl currently the dock feels like a very cheap plastic toy) What did I miss that you would like to see in the potential new switch console?

Hello everyone on the LTT Forum, I am new here and I am sorry for my bad english (I am not a native speaker...), but I want to ask a question about a pc build/plan. I have a budget from around 500/600 euros. And I came up with this: https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/CRQcQ6. I wanted some feedback on it because I am not really a expert... Back to the budget, this build is a little over my budgets but I dont mind picking up some second hand parts so I thought maybe I can get some good deals. Btw this is the first time I build a pc, but of course I watch a lot of Linus video's so I think/hope I can build this pc...

Hi there all, Just had a few suggestions on how data should be represented in videos. Of course, I understand not everyone cares for the rigor and accuracy of scientific media, but I think a discussion would be useful! One of the things I have noticed across many channels that provide data and comparisons on computer components, systems and general benchmarks is that they all lack some standards and important information in the figures produced. I am an Oxford Biology student and have been given a lot of classes and resources that are to help improve our data representation and ensure our data is unbiased and fair. This is obviously not what we should expect from free sources like LTT videos but there are some lessons that could be applied. For example: Use of colour differences between individual variables (New colour for each processor for example with different measures in a different but related shade) Clarity over the data used in the title. Titles are often very bare and don't tell us exactly what measure is being used. Is it the mean? is it the lowest value? Are we looking at a measure of central tendency. This sort of thing is important to know whether the examples we are being shown were cherry-picked or not! Some variety in the graphs used might sometimes represent the data better. If something has been tested 50 times each, you have a great sample size! So you should show that off with a boxplot that lets us know the mean, quartile ranges and outliers! This helps us to understand how variable the data is. We dont want to go a buy something because it looked super different if that is actually a rare result! Please, please. please! Ensure figure legends or side comments are of a reasonable size! we only see the figures for a short time and it just helps to read it. The empty space around the figure is fine to be filled with a good legend or even a little figure caption if needed! Sometimes its not always feasible to test something loads and loads of times, and thats okay! But that should be clear, Of course people might not understand what N = 3 means but they do understand if you give a little warning that they were only tested 3 times! we want to know how reliable your conclusions are! Overall, the data behind the figures always sounds quite robust, and the process very well controlled! But it feels like a shame that a lot of the data is not being used as effectively as it could be. While there is a balance between how far you go, I feel there is a level to which it could be improved. A good figure can make the difference between someone buying something they truly are suited to or making a mistake due to an incorrect assumption. As an influencer, there is room to suggest that LTT has a responsibility to not mislead. Now I do feel the data could be construed to be misleading in some cases, and questions can be asked. My personal opinion is that if those questions were answered, they LTT would be providing information that no other influencer on this topic is providing, putting them ahead of the competition. There is truth in the fact that this will benefit more serious tech lovers and professionals than the average casual viewer, but that is where LTT would have to consciously decided how rigorous the figures truly are! Now, I decided to post this here to see what other people think, do you agree? Do you think there are other things that they could do to improve their reliability? Do you think this is unnecesary and overly complicated and simply just a waste of time? Please, do let me know, I am interested to see what others think! Thanks for getting this far if you read all that!

Hey guys! So... I really don't like W10. It's just "invasive", and it has A LOT of useless tasks and other things that just make it's performance worse. I never removed any of these things, but i want to. What kind of things i should remove, that would improve performance and at the same time don't mess a lot with my system?

Hi all, ive been looking into external dacs recently in an effort to boost the sound quality of my music. I currently have a pair of Sennheiser Momentums and a nexus 6 and my friend has the oneplus 3 with the Sennheiser Urbanites. My question to you is do you think an external DAC would improve the quality of either of these phones/headphones or are the existing codecs already a decent standard?

So I am still relatively new to the tech world. Finally at the point where I have my bearings and at least know what everyone is talking about. I have a question. Yesterday I was using HP Support Assistant (judge me idc) to cleanup my system and see if i could push anymore power out of it. One of the suggestions was using a flash drive/external hard drive to perform a ReadyBoost operation. The explanation the HP assistant gave as to what ReadyBoost is, was completely useless. Can someone explain this process to me? Does it eat my thumb drive? Does it actually improve performance?

The title basically says it all, but I've thought up a build that I might want but this being my first custom rig and the fact that I've only ever tinkered with laptops and the sort (haven't used an actual PC for the longest time), I need some many suggestions on improvement. Here's what I've come up with so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Xyilver/saved/#view=bpb48d Basically, I'm looking for something that can give me decent gaming and facilitate my use of Photoshop, Art/Drawing Software as well as just standard workloads (I'm still a student). My price range is approximately 1000-2000 USD, but preferably below 1500 USD (I know my current build is over that, that's why I'm asking for suggestions). Also I'd like it to look presentable (aside from cable management etc which I'll handle myself) parts-wise, even though it's probably going to hide in some corner of my room usually (under my table, because my table can't fit that much stuff). If you need any extra information, do ask ahead. Thanks for the suggestions ahead of time for anyone who responds.

Actually intel HD graphics 4600 but still only good for minecraft and other cpu bound titles Is there way of improving gaming experience? I know there is gpu docks but the fastest connector on the laptop is usb 3 sooooo... Rendering is super fast with hyper threading but any games that rely on the gpu play awfully Any improvements?

i hope this is the correct topic, maybe it has to be moved Case: beQuiet SilentBase 600 ( i removed the bequiet purewings ) actual rig in signature TOP -> H100i GTX "stock" ( i think there was a dustfilter on top too ) FRONT -> Noctua NF A14 "FLX" ca 1200 RPM @ 18 dB + dustfilter BACK -> Noctua NF F12 "FLX" ca 1200 RPM @ 19 dB bottom -> PSU exhaust + dustfilter fan placement rig ( needs to be turned around -> 90° ) ambient temperatures are 10-15°C day, night open window 1m on the right beside the pc outside air -2°C actually idle temps GPU <30°C load sometimes up to 50-60°C with fans spinning 50-60% idle temps CPU ca 40°C load ca 60-65°C devils canyon OC runs @ 4,6ghz (didnt try to get it higher) 1. are the vents good enough for the top? because it feels like only 1 fan could exhaust and the other blows against the case 2. the only thing i can hear are the aio pump + fans 3. is there a chance to reduce the voltage for the pump so it wont run 100% when the cpu only has 50-60°C 4. should i change the fan setup in any way? back to intake or something like that? the AIO fans are connected to the pump but i'll swap it to mainboard connectors possible solution for 2. i was thinking about 2 linus-style Noctua NF F12 "PWM": 22,4dB max 1500RPM static pressure 2,61mmH2O "air rate" 93,4m³/h instead of the standard Corsair H100i GTX :37,7dB max 2500RPM static pressure 4,65 mmH2O "air rate" 70,69m³/h or would you suggest some other "silent" pressure fans sorry for the bad quality i took the pics with my old wooden sony xperia typo newer will be made with oneplus2 if necesary i could take some more pictures of the complete setup etc later when i'm home current desktop setup current desktop setup with new display ;O thanks in advance

Hi, I just finished my build and have been doing some temperature monitoring over the last couple of days and have been noticing that my GPU temps (Nitro R9 390) are far too high at aroung 50C at idle. My current Fan config is as follows: 2x 120mm + 1 140mm Fan in front as intake One 120mm fan in the back as exhaust. For the CPU cooler I use a Deep Cool 400 with the original fan and an coolermaster jetflow in push pull configuration. Thanks Jakob

That is all well and good HTC, but will you actually ensure that your "hero" product stays your "hero" product for a calendar year or will you release a better version for another region 3 months later, at which point people ask "why didn't you just release that one in the first place?" I really hope they get it together. Their entire business sorta depends on it all. To think, this is the brand that made the Nexus One. And now they're all over the place again just like they were at the tail end of the Windows Mobile 6.5 days. http://www.androidauthority.com/htc-improvements-m-and-more-614030/

Hi, I'm thinking of improving an old laptop to use at school. I know I can't improve too much on a laptop, but i wanted to get a little more out of it. I'm at architecture school, so I'il have to use it for Autocad, some 3D models (little things), planning, and a little more... The laptop is this: http://www.samsung.com/pt/consumer/monitor-peripherals-printer/notebook/high-performance/NP-RC530-T01PT Yes yes, I know is a little old, that 540, that 2670QM ... damm >.< But anyway, When i'm using autocad for example, just to make 2D models, it lags a little bit when i re-scale and things like that. What you guys think I should improve? Should I try to put a SSD to improve that 5400RPM HD? Should I add more RAM to it? Thanks for the help!

Hello everyone! I am the happy owner of a Lenovo IdeaPad Y500, with a single GTX 650M and a last gen i7(specs on picture), and I've had a bit of trouble playing games lately. I used 3DMark11 on it, and got my test score, which was much lower the i thought it would be, and after a short search, I found a review describing the same test, but with much higher scores on the same laptop. I got a combined score of 1800, but the review was much higher, at 2333 combined. Any idea's to what is slowing it down so much? - I've admit I haven't but nice to it by downloading stuff from sites that might bring out a "Meehh..." from some people, and I regret that now, but is there anyway I restore my laptop to its former "glory" or have I messed up completly? I have reset, run antivirus(several diffrent(indivdually)), and done anything I could think of, but I am still have trouble booting simple games like Minecraft because the system cannot keep up. Thanks on advance!

For those of you out there playing Watch Dogs and using SLI, this is a post you are going to want to pay attention to. To begin, I want to get one thing out of the way. About a week ago there was this "ninja driver" that a lot of people got. The driver was a beta driver, numbered 337.81. Some people know it as the "Chinese Driver". Any who... Today comes along the new WHQL, which promised increased performance across many games and an "improved" SLI profile for the highly anticipated Watch Dogs. First lets debunk that last statement. There is absolutely no difference in any way, shape, or form in the SLI profile found within this latest driver, 337.88. Going all the way back to 337.50 the Watch Dogs profile has not budged an inch. Nothing has been changed. Here is a comparison of the two between 337.81 and 337.88. A blind man can see that these driver are identical. Okay, so no big deal Joker, right? Wrong. Now the game is on the verge of release. Some people, myself included, received their copy of the game legally because the vendors shipped them early. Other people have been playing the game all week thanks to some internet piracy. We will ignore those folks, though. Let's get down to the performance of the game. Its bad. REALLY REALLY BAD! I am running dual GTX 780's and I am seeing my frames drop into the mid 40's while driving around the city. The story is even worse during police chases with explosions going off, slo-mo cameras, and all the hacking stuff. During these sequences my FPS have dropped down into the TEENS! This is unacceptable. The dev's are pointing the finger at system specs of the users. Um, excuse me.. But how is my $3,000 computer not up to spec to run a modern game? I run Battlefield 4 on 64 player servers at 200 FPS without dropping a single fucking frame. Let's look at some screenshots. Note the bottom right corner for framerates. The dev's biggest thing they are telling us to do is turn down textures. So I tested this. Below are two screens. The first is at medium textures (the lowest they go) with every other setting on Ultra with 4x TXAA. The second screen is with Ultra textures and all other settings on Ultra with 4x TXAA. So looking at these we have a difference of a whopping 3 frames per second. With the only change being the textures from the lowest possible setting to the highest possible setting. Tell me how in the hell is this good optimization? How it the users fault for not having good enough hardware like they want us to believe? Don't worry it gets better. Now I am going to show you two more screen shots. Both of these are with every setting in the game on Ultra, including textures and with 4x TXAA. The difference? In the first screen I am using the Far Cry 3 SLI bits. The second one is using the Assassin's Creed III SLI bits. The reason for choosing these is that the Watch Dogs engine is a combination of two engine's. The Dunia engine (Far Cry 3) and the Anvil Next Engine (Assassin's Creed III) So there you have it folks. With just 15 minutes of my time I took 74 frames on ultra and turned that into 93 frames per second on ultra. Why can't Nvidia do this? Why can't the developer's do this? It isn't rocket science. It is pure laziness on the part of the developer's and the people at Geforce making these drivers. 19 frames might not seem like much, but what about a guy running a GTX 760 where that 19 frames could be the difference of the game being utterly unplayable and just playable enough. The effort is pathetic and as consumers, we deserve better.
