Recently I encountered a weird issue with Firefox renderer I believe. I know that this should probably need to be addressed by the Firefox community, but I believe this forum is a good start and way more active than Mozillas. When I start playing a video on youtube it causes GPU spikes at over 60% utilization. If I kill that process, firefox restarts it with way less GPU usage, more in line with normal behaviour, at ~20%. Chrome allways uses way more GPU so that's why I'm sticking with Firefox. The graphics drivers are updated to the latest version both in Intels driver utility and in ASUS's updater. (it's a ASUS Vivobook notebook with I5 11300H and Nvidia 3050). I'm leaving here a unlisted youtube video for you to observe the behaviour. Feel free to give me any suggestion on this issue and also repost it or give a headsup to Mozilla if you have any contacts with them. OBS Screen recording

Long story short, im wondering if taking a super old gpu and putting it in my pc would be better than the igpu. Im rocking a 7700x, and as for the gpu, its coming from a 20 yr old prebuild which was around mid end for the time according to my dad.

I have an i5 7200U with intel hd 620. Im buying a new monitor. I can squeeze every drop of fps possible from games and get 60-ish. even if my performance goes up, i will improve the graphics quality and bring it down to 60-ish. im not interested in fps above it in games. Should I invest in a monitor with 75Hz if im not gonna use 75fps in games? Will it be worth it for general use of the pc or for watching videos or anything? Im gonna be running linux for max performance and will play Minecraft. If 75hz is not needed, ill get a 60Hz monitor itself.

Disabling my AMD 7800X3D IGPU for steam to open quicker (damn you AMD/Steam) makes my Radeon software either not download correctly or not want to open due to the IGPU being disabled. Is it even worth having AMD software installed if im not using the IGPU (I use A NVIDIA graphics card) and if it is how would I be able to download the software where having my IGPU enabled would not be a barrier. Thanks!

Budget (including currency): 400 eur Country: Latvia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AutoCAD, SketchUp Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am planing to build a PC based on the AMD 5600G, with the idea of making it ultra upgradeable. When it is necessary, adding a dedicated GPU is totally an option, and after years, a used 5800X would be a very cheap way of adding some more CPU power. I do not have that much experience with these programs, does this sound good?

I have a NAS in the jonsbo N1 case. So 5 HDD slots, which was fine because I had a pci card with 2 more sata ports (moba only has 4). But now I'm running jellyfin server too and want to do transcoding, and want to make it hardware accelerated if I can. I tried sata expansion cards in the m.2 and wifi chip slots but they don't recognize/allow it for whatever reason. So now I'm at a choice, I can loose 1 4T HDD but get a slim GPU. Or I can keep the future storage and try the iGPU. I'm not currently using all that much storage space but I do expect it to fill up eventually. So the question is will the iGPU be sufficient? Budget (including currency): $1,000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: ? Probably F1 2023 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sdTTDZ My question is about the "14 total / 10 usable" Native PCIe lanes here: https://www.amd.com/en/product/14086 I am ready to spring for an 8500G. Assume my 8500G choice is locked. What is a good motherboard that has 2 x USB4 to take advantage of those pins coming from the CPU, and as much PCIe expansion as possible? Assume I'll keep the motherboard for 15+ years. Eventually I'll get some faster AM5 CPU to put in it. The ASUS ROG X670E crosshair hero almost seems like a good choice. (The manual is here) Explanation: The ROG X670E strix has 1 DisplayPort 1.4 output on the rear I/O but no USB4. The ROG crosshair has 2 x USB4 display outputs from the CPU. And the 8500G has 2 x USB4 ports. But I'm still nervous I missed something that's going to bite me later. What will be the limitations on PCIe slots? If the CPU had a full 16 lanes for the x16 the manual then talks about bifurcation on p. vii "specifications summary" -- The second PCIe 5.0 x16 slot works only in x8 mode: "(support x16 or x8/x8 mode)" And "When PCIE 5.0 M.2 card is installed on PCIEX16_2, PCIEX16_1 will run x8 only." Some of that is pretty normal for X670E motherboards based on [1]. What I'm wondering is what happens when the APU only has 10 usable PCIe lanes? Will the second x16 stop working at all - same for the slots M.2_1 and M.2_2 which each use x4 of PCIe 5.0, they prob will just not work at all. So I have to use M.2_3 and M.2_4 which are PCIe 4.0 x4 - that doesn't seem so bad. I do see that pcpartpicker flags the 5800G CPU as being so new I'll need to flash the motherboard BIOS before I can install it. That's the $650 ASUS board that I'm looking at. Now, I hear you, you'll cringe at spending that much on the motherboard. Motherboards have gotten pricey lately, so I'm looking to buy an excellent one and to really peer into its guts. I mean, I looked at the ASRock X670E Taichi Carrara for $623 and it has the same warning, "support x16 or x8/x8 modes*" and probably has the same gotcha if M2_1 is used. Gigabyte seems to have discontinued the X670E Aero D, and the AORUS Master limits its USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4. MSI has the same DisplayPort 1.4 limitation. Anyone already have the ROG crosshair or ASRock Taichi Carrara? [1] https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-rog-crosshair-x670e-hero/

Hello everyone. Recently I've noticed a green bar appearing on top of videos whenever I'm on youtube, it only started a few days ago. My assumption is that my 'monitor' (which is a 1080p tv at 32") is just faulty overall. Im running a Ryzen 7 5700G and no discrete GPU, I'm connected through the HDMI port. It will appear in one video, disappear for the next 4~6, and then reappear again. Any ideas?

Hi guys. Recently I’ve built a pc with this configuration: Asus Prime b450-plus AMD Ryzen 5 3400g G.SKILL TridentZ 16GB 3200MHz ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 256GB Cooler Master Masterwatt 750W Semi-Gold For a few days, I’ve been working on CPU and iGPU overclocking and pushed the gpu to 1700MHz and saw some weird green rectangles in games and very high temps. So I decided to buy a better cooler. I bought Deepcool gammaxx gt. I installed it and disabled cpu core performance in BIOS to reduce cpu core voltage. Since then, I’ve been hearing a coil whine in graphics demanding things like games and web scrolling using my Vega 11 integrated gpu which is measured 45 decibel at it’s peak and it’s coming from Heatsink’s base (CPU HS). I tried enabling core performance boost and it didn’t help. I also tried changing iGPU frequency and it didn’t help either. Since I have my pc next to my bed and I leave my pc rendering at nights, acoustics matter a lot to me and I’m thinking of changing the noisy part. My question is: 1. Can an integrated graphics cause coil whine? 2. Since it’s not coming from VRM or SoC voltage controllers, can it still come from beneath the cpu and socket and be a MOBO issue? 3. Can it be caused by the MOBO being bent because of the weight of my new cooler which is a lot heavier than the stock one? 4. Finally, which part do I have to change?

I tried this. Game only renders on the desktop not in the headset. I was able to pull up the desktop inside the headset and see beatsaber opened, but not interact(it treats my vr headset like a mouse) i wouldnt mind low resolution. And slow gameplay. Headsets a vive.

Hey, my PC won't boot if my display is plugged into the MSI GPU, I get 1 long and 3 short beeps (which should indicate that I have a GPU error). If I plug into the iGPU (via the motherboard), my system boots and I can switch on runtime to the MSI GPU (by replugging) and everything works fine. Even if I shutdown my system and power it back up (still plugged into the MSI GPU) everything works. Only when my system is of for a couple hours (System was plugged into power the whole time) I get the same GPU error and I can only boot when plugged into the iGPU. I already looked up if my NB Configuration in the BIOS is messed up, but everything seems fine (generally the BIOS has the default config loaded): [SEE ATTACHED IMAGE] Thanks in advance and have a nice day! I don't know why, but when I use PBO2 + power limits on my 7600X, it only affects the CPU and not the iGPU. That makes it hot and revs up my fans even though I have a GPU (RX 6800). I've tried disabling the iGPU, but it's still as hot, although I can't find any measure of the wattage consumed by the GFX done with the CPU when it is disabled. When it's enabled, on idle, I get 30 W on the iGPU and 1~2W on the CPU itself. Yet my GPU also works at 25 W. Because I have an uncommon screen size the drivers keep my GPU memory clocks high to remain stable, that explains the high idle power. But why the hell do I have my iGPU running at 30W idle and 60W when watching a youtube video? I have a GPU for that! How fix ;-;

I'm having problems using p106 with display port on the motherboard. BIOS considers P106 as display 1 and does not want it to appear on IGPU which reads as display 2. There is no problem with windows display, only BIOS. I have set the default display to display 2 but it has no effect on the BIOS. Previously I used the GT-710 as display port to set the BIOS to keep IGPU active even when using EGPU. Is there a way to make BIOS still appear on IGPU even though EGPU is installed? My motherboard is ECS H81H3-M4 with Intel I3-4130

Hi Team I am waiting for my new GPU to arrive and in the mean time I'd like to use both video ports from my iGPU for dual monitor, by default it will only work with one port. In BIOS it IGD multi monitor is already enabled, but this is just for iGPU use with a GPU as well I believe. How else I can get 2 monitors working on just the iGPU? Trying to go for a dual monitor setup using the Ryzen 5 5600g. I have an MSI b450 Mortar max motherboard and 2 HDMI monitors. The motherboard has only 2 displays, hdmi and dp. the HDMI output to HDMI input works, bought an adaptor for DP output to HDMI input but it doesn't work. I don;t know what seems to be the issue, is it the motherboard, adapter, or something else. I checked the BIOS but it doesn't show something to enable multiple displays. Both monitors are 60hz. Here's the link for the adapter: https://ventiontech.com/products/displayport-male-to-hdmi-female-adapter Also read somewhere about bidirectional and unidirectional cables but I'm not sure if that's the case. HDMI monitor -> HDMI cable -> Adapter -> DP computer

My laptop(MSI GF65)with an RTX 3060 and an Core i7-10750H always uses its dedicated GPU to display. This makes the laptop very power hungry making it last about 1.5-2 hours on a full charge, which is very unacceptable. I'm pretty sure this is software side issue as I didn't have this when I got the laptop for the first time. Also, when you turn on the laptop and it starts on the iGPU then switches to the dGPU as soon as windows is up. This issue apart from draining the battery, it also heats up the laptop significantly. I can understand which GPU is the laptop using by looking at the color of the light on the powerbutton. White for iGPU and red/orange for the dGPU. Things I have tried so far: 1. Reinstalling the dragon centre 2. Toggling settings in the Nvidia Control Panel and Display settings in the windows settings 3. Disabling, reenabling the dGPU from the device manager. Although the disabling was reflected in the Task Manager, it didn't change the light to white, even after restarting. This gave me a doubt if the software controlling the light has some kind of bug, but i have noticed both GPUs being used simultaneously when opening an application like the browser.

Hi, I wanted to know if anyone knows about the problem I'm having. I have a Lenovo notebook with a i7 8550u that comes with Intel UHD 620 and 12gb of RAM. I've seen benchmarks of people playing Fortnite, PUBG, and other games on youtube with this hardware but when I try to run them I get a sever "input lag". If I'm not touching anything and suddenly press a buttton the action is registered almost instantly as intended, but if I try to do multiple actions, like walking while moving the mouse, shooting, jumping, etc, the buttons I press get like queued and take action in a delayed manner. Does someone know why does this happen? Thank you in advanced.

Budget (700€ excluding peripherals): Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Light gaming (minecraft, genshin impact, indie-games), Software Development, Coding, sometimes 3D Modelling (no rendering) Hello, first time builder here. Due to the extreme Video Card prices currently, I have decided that I will build a Rig with an IGPU for now and continue to research and later upgrade it with a decent GPU instead of buying sub-optimal parts now and overpay for a below-average Graphics card. The IGPU-Build will offer adequate performance for my needs and still be a somewhat good price. Below, ive included the PcPartsPicker Part List and I would like some input on some questions: Im not sure yet whether I should go with the Ryzen 5 5600G or the Ryzen 7 5700G. Both are good CPUs and I am ready to pay the additional 75 bucks for the better Ryzen 7. But my concern is that I wont be able to use the powerful CPU to its full potential. So my question or more like request would for someone to look over my parts and look for potential bottlenecks and maybe tell me whether the RAM I picked is fast enough for the CPU and if the memory speed matches the overall build etc. According to PcPartPicker I might have to update my MoBo BIOS for the CPU to be compatible. Can somebody maybe explain whether this might become a problem and roughly how that works Are all the parts fully compatible and will there be any bottlenecks? Are there any parts that i could/should save money on? Here´s some additional information: I would like to have at least 2 Monitors at a later point, but i understand that it will not be possible right now, due to the integrated graphics and only one hdmi port on the motherboard. Im upgrading to a self built PC from a Laptop with Ryzen 5 with integrated graphics so i really dont have any high expectations. I want to play at 1080p resolution with at least 50 FPS in most Indie-Games or minecraft for example (no AAA titles or shooters etc). Im planing to buy the PC some time later this year or in the beginning of next year. Im planning to go with Windows as my operating system. Im also very comfortable using linux, but its just too unoptimized for gaming to be the right choice for me, i think. (We´ll see with Linus´ current experiment on running linux for a month, whether im right or wrong with that). Any input is dearly welcome. Please excuse my english and I hope I dont seem impolite. Budget: 1000€ including peripherals and Monitor Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: light gaming (minecraft, genshin impact, small indie games) and software development (programming, debugging, sometimes 3D modeling) Other details: I need a full setup, so not only a PC but also a Monitor, speakers and a decent USB Hub. I already bought the Keyboard, thats why the price is set to 45. Links for HDMI Cables and the USB Hub arent included Hello. Below, i´ve included a PcPartPicker Link/List of my current choice for parts for my first build. I would like for someone to look over it and give input about anything sub-optimal or potential price-cuts. (Yes, its a igpu build. Due to the massive prices for gpus lately, i decided to go with a powerful Ryzen 7 APU) The build will mainly be used for Uni-Work (software dev) and light gaming (minecraft, genshin impact, smaller indie games). Still not very sure about that Monitor and power supply, so if anyone has better ideas than the ones I picked, i´d be happy to get hear some suggestions. Also note, that my choice for the case is not some random rgb case. I need an inverted design and there are only a very small amount of those for whatever reason. So this is the nicest looking somewhat payable case i found. I am mainly worried about the Ryzen 7 5700G not being able to use its full potential due to slow RAM or storage or a sub-optimal motherboard.
