Weird idle behaviour Ryzen 3 + TeamViewer
pachodomi posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Here's the deal, when teamviewer is on while monitoring cores on ryzen master, they sleep correctly and everything is fine. The weirdness begins when I close teamviewer or don't allow it to start with windows. At that point all cores remain awake, at 200-400 MHz range. If they go to sleep they do it for a fraction of a second and when it gets stable they all remain active. Can't actually realize what is going on! Any ideas? Thanks! Pic1 is with Teamviewer open Pic2 is with Teamviewer closed from taskbar, and enough time given to idle. -
Hello people. I have recently noticed that my CPU fan cooler makes a lot of noise, thus I started looking into my CPU's temperature and realized that is really high. In fact, whilst the PC is idle the temperature is from 60 degrees C to 70 degrees C. If I start gaming shit hit the fan and it reaches 95 C which is basically the top based on AMD RYZEN MASTER. Now for more details... I own this CPU for about 3 years. I use the stock cooler. The first time I mounted the chip and the cooler I realized that the fan was very noisy indeed. I recall trying out stuff like lowering the VCORE by 0.1 V and adjusting the fans to reduce the noise via BIOS. Very noisy fans are a big problem for me since it obliterates my experience with gaming. I recall managing a decent noise level that was acceptable thus I moved on. During summer though - a period in which I do not use my PC often I started noticing high temps. These days that I start gaming again the temps are really high. For example, I own a GTX 3060ti and by playing a not-demanding game like Evil Within my CPU reaches 95 degrees C whilst its usage is barely 30%. While idle, the usage is barely 10 and the temperature fluctuates constantly to 60 C up to 70 C and down again. Right now I am afraid to run any type of game. Any help or advice will be highly appreciated. I am not a PC expert by the way...

I've noticed when i go away from my computer for any extended periods and i come back it has crashed and loaded into the bios, im not really sure whats causign this and from what ive read online its not common issue so not many fixes at all. I was wondering if anyone here had some insight of what might be going on.

When I power up my laptop, the TaskManager shows that memory uses about 60%(Installed 8GB DDR4) But I put it overnight(Maybe only open Vivaldi Browser and open a few tabs or not open anything), the memory usage goes up to over 90%, and with huge disk activity.(Seems like it read-write to the page file a lot) The screenshots of the problem occur: The RamMap Program Full RamMap Stat(Dump from the RamMap Program): BOB-X560UD.zip The task manager(Sorry it's a Chinese Language)

What dou you prefer for 2600X? 1. Auto. I get 4.240Ghz, 0.788v on Idle and 1.46v spikes on load. 2. Manual. 4.0Ghz overcook at around 1.3v, but everything is fixed, no spikes but also doesn't come down on idle. Is there a way to make clock and voltage come down on manual overclock? I've already enabled Global C States and PSU Low Current on Idle.

Hello everyone, Most posts I see discussing Ryzen 5000's series include problems concerning idle temps / thermals in general/ boost problems etc... After a deep-dive into my 5950x this is what I learned in regards to getting the most out of my system and solving those issue. System spec: CPU: 5950X Cooler: NZXT 280mm AIO Ram: 32GB G-Skill 3600 Mhz GPU: RTX 3080 founders PSU: 850W Gold Case: Fractal Meshify S2 General purpose: Programming/engineering and some gaming. Beware of motherboard software packages! As an example, as a part of my Asus X570E software package, it installed an app called "Game First" which other than handicapping my WIFI also kept pushing for a boost frequency of 4.35Ghz preventing the CPU from ever truly idling. Uninstalling this piece of junk alone has reduced my idle temps from 49 degrees (Celsius) to 34c with the CPU being able to automatically under-volt to 0.95 with 3.6Ghz clock speeds. Old (non-updated) service (background) applications tend to cause the same problem. It is best to set your system to its default properties and use procMon/task manager to track and kill apps which unnecessarily cause an all core boost. Apples iCloud backup has also been marked as a possible problematic sw. Bios - other than updating to the most recent BIOS, some manufacturers set the default v-core to 1.4V which might be considered to be a bit too much. I did the following: 1. Enabled PBO with curve optimized set with a negative (all core) value of 12. 2. Undervolted the CPU by 0.1. 3. Set FCLK and RAM speeds to 1:1 ratio (in my case 1800Mhz). Results Idle: 34c (completely quiet) Load: 70c (Cinebench R23 30 minute stress test) All core boost: 4.6 Ghz consistent Single core boost: 5 Ghz R23 Score: 25512 Without using an under volt: Idle: 38c Load: 74-75c All core: 4.65-4.7 Ghz Single Core: no change 5 Ghz R23: 26110 + Random BSODs Note: I'm aware I can probably remove the under-volt and reduce my PBO to prevent the BSODs and maybe even gain a little bit of performance but I prefer a cooler quieter system than an increase of 2-3%. Hope this helps!

I have a AMD 3900x with MSI x570 gaming edge WiFi. Currently I am facing a weird problem. In idle the task manger picks random processes and give it high CPU usage percentage. even though those processes never used more than 5% CPU before. total CPU usage even in idle will reach 100% and stay there or will give spikes. my CPU fan running high now. Another thing, When I tried to change my thermal paste of my CPU I accidentally yanked out the CPU with the cooler from the socket, As a result, some pins got bend. But, I used a needle to straiten those pins and It worked. It was few months ago, Back then I didn't face that problem. Is it possible maybe those pins aren't making proper contacts anyhow and making that problem? I am even getting some random 2-5 second freezes now in Firefox. Didn't try other things yet. Please help me out.

Hey guys, I opened up my BIOS and I checked my temps for my CPU and its at 58C. This seems too hot for idle, and I have a fat 360mm AIO. I have a 5900X as well. Why are my temps so high?

I was just attending my class....I thought to recording it....so I opened gamebar and to see that i have a 90% RAM usage...i closed gamebar...opened the task manager....and even the task manager reports it as a 90% usage....my pc does not feel sluggish though (it usually slows down at 90% ram usage)....but i can hear the fans alone ramping up i dont think I have a virus or a malware...norton is active and updated....also i did not install any new software recently.... I tried closing all the apps and the ram usage is at 75% with no apps opened! a restart did not help I have 8 gigs of 2666mhz ram

ryzen 5900x Ryzen 5900x idle temp pretty high
Mambans posted a topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Hello, a few months ago I upgraded to an Amd 5900x + EK-Quantum Momentum ROG Crosshair VIII Hero and Rtx 3800 with full custom water cooling (2 rads, one intake at the bottom and exhaust at the top). But I've noticed my temp on my Ryzen 5900x fluctuates a lot while idle, from 55/60 up to 75. And while running Cinebench it still only stays around 70-75 and the score seems O.K. All while my GPU temp stays around 30-45 while ~idle. My ambient room temp is pretty high, around 23-26. Water temp is around 35-42c. I'm wondering if anyone know why my CPU idle temp (55-70) is so high? Did I not mount the CPU block correctly? Is it the loop configuration? Would appreciate any tips. -
Hey guys, I have had an issue for a long time now with my laptop fans spinning uncontrollably. I had no issue with it when I had just bought my laptop 2,5 years ago., although it was already pretty loud for my standards (coming from a Asus EEE pc, XD). I dont want to replace it yet, as the performance of my laptop is still great in both gaming and 3d modelling. Having an RTX 2060 and Intel-8750h, I have no trouble running most AAA games on high or even ultra. The only bothering thing is when I take it with me to school or work, where i am usually around others in a quiet room and you hear my laptop almost take off. I dont know where it comes from or why it starts doing that, but its going from 1500 rpm to 7300 rpm (so from normal in idle to "maximum" fan speed) I have tried using the armoury crate, tried third party fan controllers and even called Asus about it. Nothing helped. At Asus they couldnt find anything when I sent it back for repairs in april last year. They couldnt find the issue they said in the report. My warranty is over so I have been looking for any other solution, but it was in vain. Does anyone know if there any solution to my problem? (If there are any questions, please let me know. I am really eager wanting to solve this so I can use my laptop without the fan noise bothering others)

For those with the same card as mine, what is your idle wattage? I just wanna compare and hopefully find a way to lower mine as I use the computer for work as well which sometimes requires just me typing on some notepads. Currently using 2 1440p monitors at 180hz (main) and 60hz (2nd) and i usually get around 55 watts when idling. I have Nvidia MDPS so the clocks are relative low (210 core and 400 mem) I have the GPU bios at performance and the power settings at windows on balanced and power management on Nvidia Control Panel to normal Also, I'm having trouble running both the monitors to run at 144hz simultaneously. The main one have no problem setting at 180/165/144 but the 2nd one only have options up to 100 hz even though is 144hz capable. I'm using DP 1.4 on my main and HDMI 2.1 on my 2nd which i think is more than capable to run both at 144hz.

Should I be concerned?

I just got this new PC today and everything looked good but I noticed that my PC idles at around 50-60 °C. I've tried reinstalling my nvidia drivers, adjusting my nvidia panel settings to normal, setting my battery settings to balanced, but nothing seems to make it go down. My average r oom temp is 23.8 °C but my PC is still running anywhere from 53-60 °C. This is the link to my PC, so I'm not sure if the case is the problem or anything, but if anyone has any tips or tricks to help that would be much appreciated. https://www.newegg.com/6883360191?Description=i7 rtx 3080 ti&cm_re=i7_rtx 3080 ti-_-83-360-191-_-Product

Hey all, I am running a vertically mounted EVGA XC3 Ultra 3080 Ti in an NR200P w/ TG panel (needless to say it gets rather hot and heavy @87°C under load #ChokeMeDaddy). In an attempt to try to combat these outrageous temps, I've adjust my GPU and case fan speeds, but I'm also trying to undervolt my GPU using MSI Afterburner. However, everytime I adjust the max frequency to a lower/stable voltage my GPU idle temps go up 10° from 53° to around 63°. Is this normal for Afterburner, or am I doing something wrong? My max temps under load have dropped between 78° and 80°, which is "better" but should I be worried about the increase at idle?*** ***UPDATE: I figured out that the reason is idle 2as so high was because I "locked" the voltage on MSI AB. Now that I unlocked (shift-L'd) the undervolt, and tweaked the fan curves of my case and the GPU, I am pushing 0.825mV@1800MHz w/ 37°C at idle and an average 77°C at load. Needless to say a 10° decrease is SWEET! LOL

Hello, I want to use my Dell Optiplex 3020 Micro (4GB RAM; i3 4160; Samsung SSD) to idle steam games (Steam idle master) (for card drops). The pc is running Windows 10 home. Is there any better OS for this purpose. And is the pc made for this kind of application. Should i restart it sometimes? Thanks for your help

Its an acer nitro 7 with an i7 9750h , a 1660ti and 16 gigs of ram today morning the laptop was on batterty (ive limited max power consumtion to 35 precent , refresh rate is 144hz limited to 60 , and i disabled the gpu aswell, im still getting around 60 degree temps (celsius) on max fan (did i mention on battery), any way to reduce temps , a few weeks ago idle temps with none of these restricitons (except max power at 50 percent limit) ,was in the lower 40s

First, PC Specs: PSU: Corsair CX650 GPU: MSI Ventus RTX 2070 Super CPU: Ryzen 5 3500 // Be Quiet Dark Rock 4 RAM: HyperX 2x8 3200Mhz MOBO: Asus Prime B450M-A OS: Latest W10 x64 Drivers: Latest version BIOS: Latest version ---- Hi LTT, i have a suspicion that my GPU is on its way out. Randomly the system will crash while on idle/almost idle. When i try to open the task manager the tray icon would be transparent, as it is crashing, i can navigate to the performance tab and i can see my GPU ay -1%/-2% load and after that the entire system will crash and i'll have to restart. No BSOD and i can't seem to find an Event in the Event Viewer. Does this seems like a GPU issue? maybe the CPU? I don't know. There no OC in the system.

Okay so, when I'm idle; my Intel i5 10210U (2.11 Ghz base spped) would boost up to 4Ghz with a Package TDP of around 8W as seen here. (P.s My GPU is an MX130 2GB) When I start a game (ie. Roblox, Genshin, Apex Legends, etc...), my CPU TDP would jump up to 35W with a core frequency of 3.9-4.2 Ghz while the game is loading. As soon as the game has started, it would drops and stays at 1.61 Ghz. It is really weird how it stays at 1.61 Ghz when playing games considering it's 2.11 Ghz base speed, yes it does that but only on idle. Why is mine the opposite ??? I had also tried turning off thermal throttling in gpedit.msc [search in start menu] [Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Power Management > Power Throttling Settings] Obviously my laptop is in max performance mode. I am open to any questions.

Hi, i am using 6800xt by Power color and its running at 7 to 100 mhz (GPU) when idle but when i am playing a game (Overwatch or GTA5) my clock speed goes upto at max of 1500 mhz(again GPU) but when i am mining it goes over 2000mhz is it normal plus can any one tell me what should be the idle temp for gpu whether its mining or gaming. BTW gpu setting are at default i havent changed anything also please tell me waht should be the optimum clockspeed P.S I am novice at this stuff so i dont know if this is normal or not CONFIG CPU : R5 5600X MB : Asus Strix x570-F gaming GPU : Power Color 6800xt

this process uses like 13% of my cpu at idle and I've tried every solution on google but in vain. It's rather weird how it behaves. First of all, it seems to start rising in usage once I open task manager. Second, it seems to use my dedicated gpu from time to time but very lightly (GPU 1 - Copy) Then if I launch a demanding game it will go down to 0.3% and come back up once I close it. I used Process explorer and this is causing it: dxgmms2.sys!VidMmInterface Now if I disable the Nvidia GPU, it's gone. What do?

Hi, since a couple of months, my gpu usage is going nuts randomly and it's very frustrating because everything become very slow ... It happens mostly when I'm in a zoom meeting but also when I'm watching a youtube video. I have tried to uninstall both of my graphic card's driver with DDU, tried to run zoom using NVIDIA graphics card, scan my computer with ccleaner, keep up to date my system, but nothing seems to work. In the task manager, Desktop Window Manager is using to much GPU (see pictures below) and I tried to change how windows handle graphics on my computer but it didn't work either. There is also "Windows Driver Foundation - User-moded Driver Framework Host Process" thats using 10 to 20% of GPU usage sometimes. Here are my specs Inspiron 15 7559 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.60 GHz Installed RAM 16,0 GB (15,9 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, Windows 10 Pen and touch Touch support with 10 touch points GPU 1 Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 GPU 2 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M I also have to 2 monitors attached to my laptop, unplugging them doesn't seem to solve the problem and all the drivers for them are up to date (for the usb dongle) I started to wonder if there wouldn't be a virus who use my gpu power to mine some bitcoins

A heads-up, this is only my second PC that i've BIOS-tuned, so there are a lot of things that i don't know. I've tried many options, turning on/off and also adjusting settings, and i was unable to "make" the computer drop it's CPU voltage at least below 1.0V when at idle, while maintaining 4.2MHz. I can see that the CPU utilization is at 7% and that most of the cores are working at clocks below 2200mhz, but the rest are always at max speed, and the CPU voltage doesn't drop below 1.27V. I'm going to provide screenshots for any necessary reference. The first screenshot shows the performance at balanced settings. It was sitting at Idle until i ran PRIME95, simply to show the min/max Monitor Data Values. This screenshot shows that even at Power Saving mode, the voltage still won't go below 1.27V The rest are BIOS screenshots of the settings that i've tried adjusting so far, which didn't help. A note: whenever i switch CPU Voltage to Auto, the voltage goes up to 1.45V. I don't know why it's doing that, and because of it, i never used it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
