I received a Lenovo ideapad touch and it came almost fully charged and completely functional i even installed pop is and then instead installed windows. It did not come with a charger so I bought a Lenovo charger for my specific laptop. By the time I got the charger in the mail it had died originally it blinked to tell me it was dead now it’s too dead to even do that. When I plug in the charger it doesn’t work I tried replacing the charging port and still nothing any ideas?

I have a question about which laptop to chose. I have to be honest my budget is really tight and I really cant squeeze more money to it. So basically there are three laptops in my region that i feel are ok. I need laptop for casual gaming but also programing and school so build quality is kinda important I guess. I have three options: Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ARH05 Ryzen 5 4600H 8GB DDR4 512GB SSD nVidia GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) IPS 250nits Anti-glare 120Hz PRICE: 710,18 EUR HP Pavilion Laptop15-ec1007nm-1U6B3EA AMD Ryzen 5 4600H 8 GB DDR4 512 GB SSD nVidia GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 15,6 " FHD SVA anti-glare, micro-edge WLED-backlit 1920 x 1080 px 60Hz PRICE: 815 EUR Lenovo Legion Y540 81SY00CQHV Notebook Core® i5-9300HFProcessor 8 GB DDR4 1 TB HDD + 512 GB SSD nVidia GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 15.6 "Display typeFHD LED, IPS panel, AntiglareDisplay resolution1920 x 1080 Pixel 60Hz PRICE: 814,77 EUR I heard that Legion has much better build quality but Gaming 3 is much cheaper so yeah im leaning towards the Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 Thank you

Hello there! My Laptop has this very weird issue where anything that has to do with power (shutdown, sleep, etc) takes very long to do. Whenever I close the laptop lid, it can take 2 minutes until the laptop finally goes to sleep. Same thing with shutting down the laptop, it also takes 2-5 minutes from the screen going black to the laptop fully shutting off. Everyday use is completely normal and I haven't noticed any performance drops or anything while using it. I've tried updating things through windows update, and also installed the latest "recommended" AMD video card drivers but it had no difference. Here are the model and specs: Lenovo Ideapad 330s 15-arr Ryzen 5 2500U with Radeon Vega 8 Graphics 8GB RAM 256GB NVMe SSD Windows 10 Home 21H2 thanks in advance!

My mom just bought me an IdeaPad Gaming 3 Ryzen variant. The storage it comes with is only 512 GB, which is sufficient for my storage needs. I want to add a 2tb Hard Drive/ SSD in the future since my 1tb hard drive on my current laptop is almost filling up. The problem is that the specifications page of this model only accepts: Up to two drives, 1x 2.5" HDD + 1x M.2 SSD • 2.5" HDD up to 1 TB • M.2 2242 SSD up to 512 GB • M.2 2280 SSD up to 512 GB I have seen someone put 3 SSDs on their IdeaPad Gaming 3, but they have a different model (same goes with someone adding a 2tb hard drive as well.) Is it possible to add a 2 (or more) TB Hard Drive/SSD (SATA or M.2) even if there is a 512 GB already inside the laptop?

So I have an Lenovo Ideapad 320-15IKB, I will be removing my disk tray soon and was wondering if there is any chance I could add in a small GPU in there

So I am in a desparate need to get s decent laptop for college that's also capable of decent gaming. I found a good deal for a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3-15ACH6. Gen 6, I think. The main specs are as follows: -5800H -3060 -512 GB SSD -8 GB RAM 3200mhz The laptop was advertized by the website to have Advanced Optimus, but I've read a lot of info on other sources (mainly Reddit) saying that it doesn't. So I just wanna be absolutely sure and ask here. Does this laptop have Advanced Optimus? If so, how can I toggle it? If not, do any of you know any decent laptops with similar specs that aren't too expensive?

Hello to the LTT community. I probably flashed wrong bios on my girlfriend's laptop using the latest Lenovo software. I never had any problems updating bios on my laptop, I've done it several times. I selected the bios file that came with the software i didn't download any other files. After the update was complete the laptop got bricked. When starting it the screen won't even power on. No backlight at all. I tried connecting to HDMI, with and without the charger. I tried holding the power button. Now I really want to open the laptop to check for a dual bios switch or something like on PC motherboards, but i know that's going to void her warranty and she's not okay with it. I'm hoping we can still flash it somehow. We're going to send it to the warranty guys but that's going to take forever and she really needs that laptop ( I want to give her my pc or laptop but she says no XD ) Right now I'm trying to drain the battery, the laptop is running and the fans are spinning quite fast.

Hello, I have a few questions regarding a Lenovo Ideapad 3 laptop; currently there's installed 16 GB of SO-DIMM DDR4 3200 memory, even though it's 8gb soldered to the mainboard + 8gb stick, I can't get it to work in dual channel mode, but in the specs list it's clearly stated that it's dual channel capable. There's no option in the bios, any ideas how to turn it on? As for the graphics, it's an integrated Radeon, currently using 2GB of memory, that's maximum I can set it to in the bios. Is there any way to set it up at least to 4GB ? Thank you

Hi, first of all, i'm sorry for my bad english. So, i have Lenovo Ideapad Z410, owned since 2013. And recently i got a weird problem, once i pressed Power button, it doesn't show up LENOVO logo, but instead blinking blank, but the backlit lights doesnt turned on, just the LCD. i had to wait, and it will suddenly popup Lenovo screen and booted. And this waiting time so vary, even worse, been 1 Hour blinking then i had to force shutdown and tried again to power on, and waited around 15 mins, the screen went on displaying LENOVO and booted. Then i tried pressing NoVo Button (the button near power outlet port, a button to jump to BIOS), i pressed that (from powered off state) it behaves like normal power button, blinking again. Once waiting several times LENOVO will popup and booted. This is wrong because normally it should popup BIOS. so my guess, BIOS damaged? BIOS chip errors? or something? I tried to open up the laptop insides, and everything looks normal. no blown off caps, no burning marks, no corrosive etc. Here is the video of blinking : lenovohb.mp4

Hi! I have lenovo ideapad 330-15ich, w10 pro 1909 x64. I just take my pc from lenovo service centre because mainboard is broken (no display). I'm pretty sure the mainboard on the pc is definitly in new condition. I'm checking task manager and it show cpu can barely reach 2ghz in underload condition, even thought using high performance profile and charged. At idle, 2.3ghz. I very confuse because previously it could touch 4ghz without problem. Without thinking, I reinstall my pc and update it. Of course I install all the latest driver. I flash bios too and guest what? No effect whatsoever. I install intel xtu to stress test and it show cpu only draw 0.875v, 16 watt tdp and 85°c tempt. At idle, 44°c. Please help me. I'm sorry if my english bad, I'm Indonesian. Thanks!

First time poster, long time viewer. Sorry if this is in the wrong section or not really 'newsworthy'. So I was browsing a deals website for aimlessly when I noticed someone had posted about a new Lenovo Ideapad with the latest Ryzen mobile processors. I haven't seen many benchmarks or reviews of the new 4000U processors, but here's what I managed to find. Looking into it a bit, the some benchmarks show that the 4800U with its 8 Vega cores can keep up with systems configured with MX250 graphics cards. https://next.lab501.ro/notebook/english-lenovo-ideapad-s540-13are-vs-13iml-amd-ryzen-7-4800u-vs-intel-core-i7-10710u/11 https://www.extremetech.com/computing/309497-the-amd-ryzen-7-4800us-onboard-gpu-nearly-matches-the-geforce-mx250 The 4800U can also be seen to trade blows with the i9 9880H in benchmarks here: https://next.lab501.ro/notebook/english-lenovo-ideapad-s540-13are-vs-13iml-amd-ryzen-7-4800u-vs-intel-core-i7-10710u/9 A review by 'Just Josh' on Youtube gave the 15 inch version a glowing review with the 4500U processor. It appears that the UK and EU stores have the ability to select bespoke configurations on only the 15 inch model where as the US has a choice of either the 14 inch or 15 inch with a 4500U installed. As an example of the value you could get, in the UK you could configure a laptop with 4800U processor, 16 GB 3200MHz RAM (dual channel), 512 GB nvme SSD and a 100% sRGB 300 nits IPS FHD panel for £739.99 (including VAT and p&p). That's an 8 core/16 thread laptop for under £750! A compelling configuration with the 4500U could cost less than £600. Reviewers have given good comments on the keyboard, trackpad and build quality of these models, but I would love to hear Alex's comments on this! IMO the graphics and processor capability make this perfect for a budget friendly family/student laptop, capable of some light gaming and content creation.

ideapad Best Budget Ultrabook with powerful Specs?

Ideapad 510s: Specs: Intel i7-7500U 8gb ddr4 256ssd AMD Radeon M430 2G 2.5 kg Price: 1056USD I was looking for a 13" laptop that was thin, around 1000USD and had decent specs and came across this and was shocked. Apparently, most regions only offer the same CPU but integrated GPU. Is this worth buying? I was comparing this with the Razer blade stealth (i7-6500U) and xps 13 (i7-7200U). So far only problem is the mushy keyboard and flimsy chasis. Does this seem too good to be true?? Btw, first time posting on this forum, tell me if I'm doing anything wrong. Thanks!! -

TL; DR: Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S warranty repair service gone horribly wrong, BAD experience is an understatement. Avoid Lenovo IdeaPad products at all costs. 15+ phone calls total (so far, including calls to managers), warranty-system transaction glitch caused initial delay, 5 repair tickets opened, 2 repair-center send-ins (waited almost a month the second time around), HOURS on the phone arguing with technicians, all my data was erased, Windows downgraded from 10 to 8 and the laptop is STILL not working today. Aug to Nov 2016 struggle (and still on-going). Typical Warranty Process: * Call Lenovo. * Go through trouble-shooting. * Submit a claim. * They ship out a box to you with prepaid shipping (return-box). * Put the machine in the box, drop it off to FedEx. * Wait on the repair. * Receive repaired computer through FedEx. Simple right? Okay... keep reading. Time Line of Events: * Nov 2014 - Machine purchased (Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S). * 2015 - Extended warranty purchased. - Extended warranty was NEVER applied to the system by Lenovo, they said their system glitched. * Aug 2016 - Machine breaks down (no longer boots). - After 3+ weeks, 6+ phone calls, many emails, HOURS on hold, the extended warranty was finally applied to the system by Lenovo. * Sep 20 2016 - "Claim 1" submitted (warranty claim). * Sep 24 2016 - Return-box arrived, I shipped the machine. * Oct 13 2016 - Machine returned. - HDD was erased. - Lost my free Windows 10 upgrade, now back to Windows 8. - Boot issue fixed, the machine now boots into windows and no longer gets stuck on the Lenovo logo. - Machine does NOT charge anymore (stays at 5%), I tried 3 different chargers including a brand new one. * Oct 17 2016 - I call the repair center. - I was instructed to perform a motherboard software refresh. - I did all the trouble-shooting the representative suggested, no luck. * Oct 18 2016 - "Claim 2" submitted. - Waited a week, no return-box showed up at my residence. - Called over 8 times (once every couple of days) to request the return-box be sent to me so I can ship back my machine, no luck. - Spoke to managers on at least 2 occasions who promised that the return-box will be sent the day I called, still nothing. - I was promised to get emails containing shipment status, got nothing. - I kept calling and repeating the same stupid cycle. * Oct 31 2016 - "Claim 3" submitted. - This was done after so many tiring phone calls. - Representative said it's best to close the current ticket and start a fresh new one, I agreed. - "Claim 2" is now canceled. * Oct 31 2016 - "Claim 3" was canceled by Lenovo ON THE SAME DAY! - Later that afternoon, I noticed on the repair status page that "Claim 3" is canceled. - Flagged as a duplicate, the representative told me when I called them raging. - Representative creates "Claim 4", and said "We had to close Claim 2 and 3 properly so that Claim 4 is not marked as a duplicate again". - The wait for them to ship me a return-box continues. * Nov 2 2016 - No return-box yet. - Called the service center every other day to check on it, I even offered to ship it to them on my own expense. - I was told multiple times that the return-box will ship and an email will be sent out to me, one rep even promised to call me back with an update the same day (it never happened). I got nothing. - Later that day I called and asked for a manager and he said "The previous representative didn't do his job correctly in opening "Claim 4"". - "Claim 4" is now canceled. - "Claim 5" submitted (by now, I just gave up). * Nov 7 2016 - RETURN-BOX ARRIVES! YAY! - I packed the laptop, sent it out the same day. * Nov 17 2016 - Repair status on the update website said "If you haven’t already heard from a Lenovo Support Technician you can schedule a callback by visiting www.lenovo.com/contact. ". - Obviously I haven't heard from anyone so I called the service center and they told me they cannot put back Windows 10, they will only restore Windows 8. - The lady LITERALLY said "If you don't accept Windows 8, the tech will just re-pack the laptop and send it right back to you without any repairs", I thought that very rude and unprofessional IMO. - I accepted the fact that I lost my Windows 10 free upgrade and now I'm back to Windows 8. - They advanced the repair process (To fix the battery that is NOT charging anymore). * Nov 25 2016 (today) - Laptop arrives! YAAAAAY! - Not so fast ... THE THING DOESN'T EVEN CHARGE NOR BOOT! IT IS LITERALLY IN WORSE CONDITION THAN WHEN I SENT IT IN FOR REPAIR! ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE. - IMMEDIATELY, I called support, now they escalated me to "customer relations", I'm expecting a call next Monday or Tuesday morning (I will update this thread). Sigh... Alright guys ... I don't typically write rants or bad reviews of anything unless it is absolutely deserving, and this time, I think we'll all agree that my experience was (is) horrible to say the least. I'm not saying the employees were bad, in fact most of them were nice (except the mentioned above). However, the level of incompetence is beyond anything I've ever seen. How can they tell me (or print on paper inside the laptop package) that the computer is FULLY TESTED and QUALIFIED when it doesn't even boot or charge? Not a SINGLE LED lights up when it's plugged in, it's literally dead! Didn't someone try to plug it in? How hard is it to power it on and go through the first few screens to verify that it is functional prior to shipping it back to me? I don't know. The first time I shipped it, they asked me to ship the machine only, the second time I shipped it with the charger as instructed. They supposedly inspected both. I also don't understand how can their ticketing system be so bad to where a return-box took almost 1 month and 4 tickets to ship. Why didn't the representatives respond to me via email or phone calls when they promised they will? How can their warranty system NOT apply the extended warranty I purchased to my serial number? It is just beyond astonishing the amount of things that went WRONG with this transaction. I wish I never bought the machine. I've owned ThinkPad products in the past and I have purchased several for family members and friends, however, this is the first IdeaPad product I own and I think it will be the last. I don't think Lenovo holds IdeaPad products to the same level and standard of service as their inherited IBM ThinkPad line of products. I've claimed warranty on my 2010/2011 ThinkPad W510 before, it was AMAZING, they came to my house and fixed it on the SPOT! Why don't they treat their other products the same way? I'm very disappointed. What sucks even more is that this IdeaPad laptop isn't my personal machine, it belongs to my mom. She had intentional travel arrangements made on October 19th and needed the laptop with her, I thought sending the laptop in for service 1 month before her 6-month long travel plans would be ample time to get it repaired .... I was wrong. Now the laptop is still here with me, not-repaired and she's long gone on her trip. I will update this post as I hear back from Lenovo's customer relations department. At this point, I have no idea what to expect.

I am looking for a new laptop to upgrade from my good old Dell Inspiron i3-3110m before going back to school. I will be doing programming on the new laptop and I wanted to get something with good performance as well as something that is future proof, as I am planning to keep this laptop for a long time. Minimum specs that I desire: -15.6 Full HD display (1920 x 1080p)-Kaby Lake Intel i5 processor (AMD isn't shipping Ryzen laptop cpus yet :s)-8GB DDR4 RAM-SSD if included, if not, that's fine, I'll do the upgrade to the 850 EVO 250GB on my own-I barely do gaming but if a 940MX is included, why not -Would prefer Wireless AC -Light design, preferably less than or equal to 5 lbs. -Will use the laptop as my daily driverI narrowed my search down to these 4 models: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=34-332-708http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=34-234-649http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=710_577_369&item_id=105145https://www.staples.ca/en/ASUS-VivoBook-X541UA-SB51-CB-15-6-Notebook-2-5-GHz-Intel-Core-i5-7200U-256-GB-SSD-8-GB-DDR4-Windows-10/product_2723174_2-CA_1_20001##specificationsContentI can't find any reviews for the VivoBook X541UA. Hi all! So, a friend of mine bought a Lenovo IdeaPad Y700-15ISK(*) two weeks ago and has been experiencing some strange screen problems since he bought it. So first things first, he bought it NEW from a trusted store (I myself bought a lot of stuff from there and never had an issue) so I don't think they'd even try and sell a refurbished unit as new. These issues started right in the first days where he started experiencing screen blinks as well as sometimes complete screen shutdown despite the computer remaining on, leading to the only option of it powering back on getting it into sleep mode and wake him up afterwards (this turns on the screen again). Note that this also happens in the middle of work, its completely unjustified for it possibly entering sleep mode (which it doesn't, everything continues working and powered but not the screen). Flickering happened once before but now its continuous and much faster (perhaps a bit like if the refresh rate was very low or something..? I don't know), even after restarting the machine. The ghosting seems to happen when browsing, for example if he's browsing on a tab and changes to the next tab the part of the screen 'freezes' and the image of what was previously there stays there (if the mouse was there, the image of it stays there aswell). Also happens when closing Edge or opening any other program window on top of it. He usually solves this by putting the pc into sleep mode and wait a good minute or so and wake him up again (if he does it fast it does not solve the problem, only thing it does is turning the edges of the screen darker). This happens only in the edges of the screen, and strangely enough is not linear as well (see pics below). This issues have been going on for a few days happening every once in a while but it now seems to be non-stop flickering even after restarting it (for the last few hours). He already took the machine to the store he bought it from and it stayed there for diagnosis for a full 3 days, they claimed they did all their usual tests as well as all tests Lenovo tells them to do and found nothing, also said they found no problems while using it. So, any of you experienced this and found a solution? Any ideas of what it might be? I just got my new Lenovo Ideapad S530 home, featuring a i5-8265U and a MX150 graphics card. Although its only using the integrated graphics. The MX150 is at 0% all the time, while the integrated graphics is working. How to fix this? I already changed the Nvidia 3D-settinga to use highest performance graphic unit but it didnt help. Thanks, Erik.

Anyone familiar with the Lenovo Ideapad S540

Disclaimer : Laptop model is Lenovo Ideapad 320-14IKB, specs are i5-8250U with 4gb ddr4 & MX110. The benchmark was ran with the laptop plugged in. I reformat my laptop and was interested on how to improve my laptop's performance using this YouTube video. Before following the guide from the video, i benchmark the laptop twice to get a baseline score using Cinebench R20. The score that my laptop get is 812 and 795. The score i got is quite low compared to other scores that i looked online on this website and this YouTube video which got 1509 and 1653 respectively. Seeing that my score is considerably low compared to online results, i did some digging to find the issue. I fired up Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility and using the stress test I found that my cpu boost clock of 3.40GHz would drop down to the base clock of 1.60GHz after 5~10 seconds of stress testing. Even after I increase the power limit of the cpu in XTU the clock speed will drop to 1.60GHz. I do know that the boost clock of 3.40GHz is only for 1 core and not 4 which what the stress test is using. The cpu is also not thermal throttling because it does not hit the thermal limit and will max out ~72c. The only warning that intel XTU gives is the "Power Limit Throttling" but increase the power and the offset voltage of the cpu does not fix the issue. Right now i'm lost and have no idea on how to solve and what cause this issue. screenshots in the spoilers
