I’ve been dealing with this ASUS motherboard for 2 weeks now trying to troubleshoot reason to why the XMP profile crashes Fortnite on DIMM slots 2 and 4. When I switch the DIMM to slots 1 and 3, XMP takes quite a while to Boot and post. I’ve tried contacting ASUS themselves I haven’t heard anything back yet. I bought the recommended RAM and all the parts are compatible. As per title, i have i9 7900x and im having a hard time finding an lga 2066 board that isn't super expensive 300$ plus!! so i came across a motherboard from lenovo thinkstation p520c with a chipset of intel c422, will it work with the i9? saw a post saying it should. -
So I have had my pc for a while, an i9 13900k and 4090 but recently it kept freezing, I did all the basic troubleshooting and nothing sorted it so i reinstalled windows now my rog strix motherboard won't connect to the Internet, I updated bios using USB, and still won't, tried ethernet cable, won't work, nothing wrong with router, everything else connected to it is fine, and since Windows requires an Internet connection to do practically anything I am stuck, any help is appreciated

i found this i9 cpu on aliexpress and im so tempted to buy it, what do you guys think about buying CPUs off aliexpress? is there a chance it could be a fake i9 ? Why they are selling the CPU at different prices? What's the difference? Shall I go for the cheapest? I am definitely going for 4090 (ti ?) and above. So I need a good CPU, preferably with an onboard GPU so I can wait for the release of 4090ti. Initially, I was thinking 13900KS, but good people talked me out as the little performance increase does not worth the extra money compared with 13900K. When I was about to make the order, I found out there are variations in prices among different retailers. I heard that you can get CPU from some retailers cheaper as it doesn't come with the original package. But as in the link that I posted above, all of them seem to come with the package and proper warranties. So I am confused. What should I do now? In addition, since I am moving to my new place this October, shall I (not) buy the parts now? Is it possible that any parts get cheaper after 2-3 months? Hi I'm looking for best AIO for cooling i9-13900k. After some resaech i found out, that this two are the best right now: - EK Water Blocks EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 - Nzxt Kraken 360 or 280 There is also Elite version of kraken, but it only differs in LCD display. Some tests shows that Kraken 360 is better. There is 280mm version of Kraken too. Is there big diffrence between 280mm and 360mm AIO?

I want to ask Which parts should i choose to upgrade my system. I am an Engineer/Freelancer by profession and use these software like almost 12 hrs a day. ( Solid woks, Fusion 360, Rhinoceros, AutoCAD ), Also i am learning Adobe suite ( Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc )to enhance my skills which will help me a lot in my freelance product design career and also i am working on blender ( planning to use that for mostly renderings in like 0.5- 1year). For Gaming I normally play Single Player AAA games. Now with the increase in workload on big project, i think i might need to update my system, which will give me some advantage in mostly working ( gaming in not my biggest concern at the moment ) The Choices I have: Scenario 1: CPU: i9 10850k ( 531 usd ) Mobo: Any Good Mobo for it Cooler: Noctua NH-D15s Other Components: Old Components ( except i will change my 2400mhz Ram to 2600mhz ) Scenario 2: CPU: 5800x ( 578usd ) Mobo: Any good mobo for it Cooler: Noctua NH-D15s Other Components: Old Components ( except i will change my 2400mhz Ram to 2600mhz ) Scenario 3: CPU: i7 10700k Mobo: Good mobo ( definitely it will be cheaper then the i9 one ) Cooler: Noctua NH-D15s Other Components: Old Components ( except i will change my 2400mhz Ram to 2600mhz ) Questions: I will upgrade my GPU in future when the stock is available ( Which one should i choose ? ). Should I save my money by choosing scenario 3 and spend that on GPU. Should I use my old rams ( the 3 2666 mhz are 1.5 years old ) and will change my low mhz ram to match the other 3 ? Or should i Change all of them to get the higher clock speed one. So i have looked at some gaming benchmarks and noticed that is some games the 10900k is better than the 11900k and some its not. I decided to buy the 10900k since i noticed in this video that it has almost same fps in a lot of games if not even better fps in some. Just wanted to post here since im still in a small doubt if im choosing the right cpu of the 2 and just wanted to ask anybody here if they think im doing the right choice or should i buy the 11900k? Reason i want to be 100% sure im picking the right CPU is because im doing a full custom EK loop on my pc and i dont want to take it apart in a few months because i picked the wrong cpu btw my build is going to be following intel i9 10900k (maybe 11900k) asus strix 3090 OC (already have) Asus maximus XIII Hero (already have) G.Skill Trident Z Royal 32gb 3200 mhz (ordering soon) Full EK custom loop on GPU and CPU Will be gaming on 1440p but might upgrade to 4K later on Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction if i should stick with the 10900k or if i should buy the 11900k instead PC will be for gaming only and no video edition or anything like that at all -
right now I have an intel i5 4690k I'm looking at HWMonitor and intel power gadget at idle I see Powers -> Package = 10 ~ 11 W running cinebench R23 100% = 52W (temperature never goes above 50 C) if I switch to one of the 3900x 5800x 5900x i9 - 10850k what will be the power consumption at idle and 100% ? -
I recently upgraded to the i9-12900k and I am having nothing but issues keeping my temps under 90c when under heavy load, at idle I see normal temps around 30c. I changed the cooling hardware setting in bios to a box cooler even though I am running a 360 AIO so that way it would limit my wattage. I saw in a forum that you could set a wattage power limit and it could remedy the temp issues with about a 5% performance loss, but I am unable to find the option to set a wattage limit within my bios. I was never really one to overclock and mess with voltage or anything, but now I need to underclock and I am kind of lost. Any help is appreciated! TYIA.

Hello all! My first time creating a post so I hope I’m doing this correctly. I’m looking at purchasing a new higher-end laptop for work and would love help choosing. This will also be my first actual laptop. I currently use an iPad Pro M1 with the keyboard cover for online work (email, documents, etc.) as well as to remote into my current rig when I’m not home which is used for my actual work (video/photo editing (Adobe), 3D animation (some in After Effect/C4D, but mostly in Unreal Engine), motion graphics (After Effects), and music production (Presonus Studio One). On top of my old rig needing an upgrade, as you can image, there are many problems with this setup as well. Therefore, I would love to get the best of both worlds by purchasing a new, higher-end laptop. I attached a Newegg comparison chart, hopefully y’all can see it. At first, I looked at the new Gigabyte Aero 16 and Aero 17 and figured I only have to choose between the mini-LED and the OLED displays (thoughts on that as well would be appreciated). However, I later looked at the TDP of the 3080 Ti on the laptops and saw that it was a bit low at 105W max. I then found the MSI Raider GE76 and found that the TDP of the GPU is 175W max. Not long after, I found the Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 at 150W but for ~$1k cheaper. Why is it ~$1k cheaper other than the CPU being the 12900H vs the 12900HK? My laptop preferences are: - Amazing, color accurate display for content creation - OLED or Micro-LED would be absolutely lovely! - Intel i9 12900H(K) - is there much of a performance difference between the 12900H vs 12900HK? - 3080 ti & 16gb GDDR6 with a higher TDP - battery life is almost irrelevant; sound isn’t a big deal either as I mostly use headphones or have loud music - 32gb ram that’s later expandable to 64gb. - Expandable internal NVME storage would be nice My budget is around $4,200, but I am willing to go up to $4,500 if it has everything I’m looking for. For example, I’m willing to pay for a better display. On the other side of the coin however, I would also love to save money if the sacrifices are worth it. For instance, if the Scar has similar performance to something that is $1k more and the only difference is the worse screen, I’ll simply get an external display for color grading at a later date. I wan't to build a powerful PC with i9 12900k. I am not a gamer so I don't feel a need to have a powerful graphics card but I want to connect 3 monitors to my pc. As on the intel's website it says that integrated graphics can support upto 4 monitors but most of the motherboard have only 2 HDMI ports. Any suggestions on how can I connect 3 monitors with integrated graphics. -
Currently I have i7 7700K and GTX 1080. I am planning to upgrade this year either with Ryzen 7 7900X or i9 13900K depending which ever come 1st RTX 4090 when ever it comes out this year I am thinking to buy the 1300W PSU and the Fractal Torrent Case 1st if they go on sale before the new chip launch. As in the rumors its been said RTX 4090 it can take upto 500W so 1300W PSU should be safe bet i am guessing. Guys let me know your thoughts so i can plan my future build Thanks in advance

Budget (including currency): 2000 AUD Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly for coding, compiling and running IDEs like android studio, IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, VSCode, probably a little server running in the background, maybe a proxy server. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I want to assemble the PC completely in the coming week, not focusing on graphics card; I want to invest that money in a better CPU, RAM, M.2 SSDs and also 2 good screens. -
I'm waiting for my i9-11900k to arrive, and I will need to have the BIOS updated in order to use it. However I don't have another lga1200 CPU to use in place of it in order to update the BIOS. The motherboard is an MSI Z490 MEG ACE, and it does support M-Flash, however I've seen a few people mention the risk of bricking the MB and it just got me wondering about what the best way to resolve this is. The other issue is that there is no video out on the MB, so I'm unsure if I need to have the GPU installed in order to see what the BIOS is doing. Any help and advice would be hugely appreciated. -
Mobo lights on , lan plug light on, pc wont turn on I9 1085k no oc/ Asus ROG z490m G / corsair dominator 4000mhz 32gb/ psu 800w Pc wont turn on, when i press the power button nothing happens, mobo rgb light are on , the lan plug on mobo lights on so seems mobo is fine, shorting power switch on mobo dont work so it is not the switch, paper clip shortning the psu works so psu seems to work, tried 2 different cmos batteries, tried reseating everything, tried only the 24 pin and the cpu 8pin still nothing, clearing cmos ,un plugging pc for a day , using a second working psu , still didnt work , what is the cause of this problem PS : we had rain and thunderstorms for 2 weeks with power shutdowns but it was working the night before Last friday this problem happened so i have done all of these steps and pc turned on by it self at night worked normal for 2 days then it happened again but now it wont turn on for 3 days

I play at 1440p/144Hz and play a wide array of games, some more CPU intensive like Rust and R6. Some more GPU intensive like Squad, HLL, and Warzone. Disregarding the old parts, I have upgraded the various components thus far: -GPU: Nvidia 3080 FE -PSU: Corsair 850 Gold -AIO: NZXT Kraken X63 -RAM: 32gb Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz DOCP/XMP -CASE: Lian Li Lancool Performane Mesh -STORAGE: Sabrent Rocket 2TB NVME M.2 My question comes in here, I want a CPU that will compliment my GPU and will not bottleneck. My current CPU is an I7-8700k delidded OC 5.0GHZ 1.35V. This is where I have found it somewhat stable where it won’t blue screen. My problem is that my motherboard is a rebranded one from CyberPower z370 Sli/Xtreme, an AsRock rebranding I believe, but this motherboard is very cheap quality and has not done well for the CPU OC and continues to have spikes in voltage and VRM cooling issues. I understand I don’t need to OC but the reliability of the MOBO is in question and I want to go ahead and upgrade the motherboard. That being said if I’m going to spend $150 or so on a 3 generation old motherboard I’d rather just upgrade to meet the requirements of a 3080 and bring my system around to being fully updated. My thoughts were the I9-10850k as the price to performance is phenomenal and MSI A Pro z490 or z590. I am open to other CPU recommendation as well as motherboard recommendations. Since I have 3600mhz RAM would I may be better served on a Zen chip which can use RAM clocked that high. I am also very curious on the z490 vs z590 debate regarding 10th intel processors. Lastly, I would wait for Zen 4/5 or Alder Lake but with rumors of cancellation, pushbacks, and the ongoing Silicon Shortage. I think I’m in a good place to go ahead and upgrade now. -

Hello, thank you for reading my post. I'm in the process of upgrading my computer from an i5 7500 to i9 10850K as well as upgrading my motherboard. For the cooling I was planning to go with NH-D15, as I've read it is one of the best air coolers on the market. However, I don't know if my case (mid tower) will be an issue. My case has a max CPU height of 161mm. The NH-D15 Height (without fan) is 160 mm whilst the Height (with fan) is 165 mm Does this mean I have to remove all 2 Fans from the cooler or is it just the outer fan? I set my fans to max RPM (Sound no issue) and currently have removed my side panel for extra ventillation which I am happy to continue doing. Will removing fans significantly impact performance (temps etc)? So, here’s my dilemma. I know how to pick out parts and whatnot, but the issue I have is with water cooling. The build I want to do is a hardline build for around 2000 usd, with roughly 1000 usd on water cooling parts. I could go for a ryzen 5 so I can upgrade later, but then the water cooling wouldn’t be doing much. The other option I was thinking was getting a secondhand 7940x for roughly the same price (I was going to get a high end b550 board, so difference in mobo price is negligible) TLDR, do I go modern so I can upgrade later, or old for more performance now along with the ability to flex my cpu?

Sup fellow Linus fans, i have recently realised that my i9 aren't capable of doing cinebench multi-core loads, because the core clocks throttle after about a minute. The temps always stay below 75 degrees, so i think it's because of my motherboards VRMs, but is that true, and can i do anything to prevent it?
