I have an i9-9900K running at stock with a 360mm Aorus AIO. I noticed recently when playing games (mainly NFS Heat) that temperatures were sitting between 55C - 65C. I just wanted to know if this is a good temperature range for this CPU while gaming? If this is not the case what would be the recommended to stock temp range for an i9-9900k in a gaming scenario with a high CPU load. Thanks in advance.

Hey. So I purchased a brand new Kraken x53 for my new build. Upon putting everything together and starting it up for the first time, everything looked great at first. I was in the bios tweaking some things before actually booting to windows when i noticed my CPU was getting hot. At this point it was in the red. So i immediately turned off my pc and checked all the cooler wires and made sure everything was good, which it was and as far as i’m aware still is. On the motherboard, the pump is plugged into AIO_PUMP, fans are plugged into CPU_FAN, and the other one (blue plug) is plugged into a USB header. And i have switched the pump and fan plugs with each other and even tried the CPU_OPT header, and same results. Also tried switching USB headers, nothing. Fans are spinning, pump is lighting up just fine. Everything is plugged into their respective headers. I even took off the pump, and reseated it using new thermal paste, same result. CPU will reach 80c within 10 minutes of being into the BIOS, which seems to be accurate as the base of the hoses on the pump feel hot to the touch aswell as the back of the pump. I have read the manual from front to back and everything looks good. Cooler is front mounted with hoses at the bottom. I have googled and googled and nothing has worked. I don’t even feel the pump working (by using touch to feel for vibrations). I have tried everything. This is very disappointing, i was excited to get everything running and even excited to try this cooler out as it’s been recommended by many. But so far it’s caused me quite a bit of stress, and unfortunately has delayed my build which I have been working on getting parts for for months. I can’t explain the disappointment in starting my first build in almost 8 years only to be set back by something like this. I have pictures of everything from the plugs, pump lights, fans spinning, to the cpu temps. Even a video of the cpu temp ramping up. Do you guys have any recommendations on things to try? I would really not like to go through the customer service system before trying everything I can first. If it helps I have a Maximus XI Hero with a i9-9900k Pics: Dropbox Thanks

I have recently purchased a new 3080 and I keeps dropping fps on my rig to the point its unplayable on any game. upgraded form a xtreme Gaming 1080 I tried it in a friends pc and it works fine, first i thought it might be my psu was to small as its only a 750. but i used a friends 850 and it still didn't help (the same one it worked fine in) so I was wondering if it could be the fact that my motherboard only has PCI Express Gen 3 not 4? i did two bench mark test on furmark and heaven and they run great (attached results) have also attached what gpu-z says when im playing a game. every time it changes from being capped by Pwr, VRel or VOp i get the lag spick and the gpu-z of running the bench mark that is only set at Pwr cap. specs | i9-9900k | Corsair Vengeance (2x32GB) 2400MHz DDR4 | ASROCK Z390M-ITX/ac | Corsair RM750 | 500GB M.2 SSD | MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ventus |

Budget (including currency): $500 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Warzone, Streamlabs OBS, Chrome, Dual Displays Other details: Hello! I want to upgrade my PC because even though I'm running an Intel Core i9-9900k with an RTX 3070, I've been disappointed with the choppy response when I'm running for example Warzone at high settings on one display and either chrome or Streamlabs OBS on a secondary display. Cooling is optimal seeing as the CPU never goes much higher than 46-50 degrees. I would like to take this chance to go ahead and get the best RAM speeds and CAS latencies for my CPU and GPU pairing since I have the budget for an upgrade, but if you have any ideas on what my bottleneck may be please let me know because this isn't the performance I expected. Sup fellow Linus fans, i have recently realised that my i9 aren't capable of doing cinebench multi-core loads, because the core clocks throttle after about a minute. The temps always stay below 75 degrees, so i think it's because of my motherboards VRMs, but is that true, and can i do anything to prevent it?

Hello! I recently built a new gaming PC with an i9-9900k and a gigabyte z390 aorus pro wifi. For a solid month, I had no problems and my CPU would stay at 4.7GHz while gaming with temps around 65C. A few days ago I noticed a major FPS drop. I normally get around a stable 200 FPS in Call of Duty Cold War. I started getting around 140 FPS and noticed my CPU was stuck at 3.6GHz. When I boot up my computer, the CPU is fine but as soon as I load a game the screen dims and the CPU stays at 3.6GHz. I tried overclocking my CPU to stay at 5GHz, but once I load any game it drops to 3.6GHz. I played around with the BIOS and had no luck. I tried intel XTU and it said I was power limit throttling while in-game. All the solutions I found to this only work on laptops. I did a clean install of windows, and it worked for a little bit, but whenever I would open the bios to enable XMP again, it would revert to the original problem. Even if I would then turn off XMP again the same thing happens. I am at a loss of what is wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If pictures or videos are needed I can get some. Thank you! So I bought a pre-built pc around 2015. It was a Lenovo idea-pad tower Y series. I upgrades the GTX 970 to a 1070. That was pretty good running for those 5 years. Spent 1100$ on the tower and 450 at the time for the new graphics card. I got a job that pays better this year so I saved up some money to buy a a top line PC. Spent almost 2800$ on everything except my existing keyboard and mouse. Now I've been using the mother boards " GAME BOOSTER" to try to overclock it, but I would to hear other peoples ideas of what I should test out of do to use this beast for whats it worth. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/unceasingbridge/builds/#view=yBfH99 OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363 Other OS Description Not Available OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Manufacturer Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. My brother is in the process of building a PC its an i9-9900K wwith a z390 gaming pro ac msi mobo with 32gb of viper steel extra performance memory 4000mhz it was running fine last night and he switched it off and 2 fans he ordered turned up today so he went to install them after he installed them the PC wouldn't boot he uninstalled the 2 fans and it still wouldn't boot we thought maybe a wire or case could be shorting it out so he removed everything from the case and had it as basically a test bench setup and he removed 2 sticks of the ram he is using 4x8gb sticks and it booted up fine then he put in the other 2 sticks and the PC wouldn't boot back up and just showed a cpu light on the ez debug so he removed the 2 sticks he just installed andd it wouldnt boot either yet it was working with that config 10 minutes before we have tried swapping ram sticks through each of the dimms with 1 stick and 2 sticks and still no luck on getting it to post any help would be much appreciated. My thought is that maybe he has somehow shorted the dimms slots and they are faulty but it wouldnt explain why it would work out of the case with 2 sticks and then wouldn't work with the same 2 sticks after he tried installing the other 2. forgot to mention but cleared the cmos several times during the whole process.

Hi, So basically my cpu core temp reach 95+ while gaming and usually spike up. At first I thought it's the cooler that could be broken so I managed to get a X73 kraken as a replacement for the old X52. For a day it went fine, Next day same issue. I haven't overclocked it or anything yet. Never had this issue before until recently about 5 days ago. Can anyone advise please, thanks The specs are: I9-9900k 16Gb ram Msi Godlike Z390 Motherboard Intake temp: 37 C Radiator temp: 73 C Core temp: 93 C CPU socket : 65 C System : 50 C Mos: 68 C PCH: 73 C Gpu : 51 C M.2 : 50 C

Current Rig: ASUS Z390-E ROG Strix Gaming Intel LGA 1151 ATX Motherboard Intel Core i9-9900K (overclocked to 5 GHz running 1.28V.) EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Corsair Hydro H115i Platinum 280mm 3 x 120mm corsair intake fans on front of computer I am running Folding@Home continuously and I am having trouble keeping my temps down. Currently they sit pretty regularly in the high 70's c, hitting low 80's every once in a while. What cooling solution do I need to bring that down to where my computer is safe to run continuously? All of my corsair fans and my cooler pump are set to their "extreme" pre-settings, since I don't care very much about fan noise right now. Temperature was not as much of an issue when I had the GTX 960 that I upgraded from.

I have ran a new cat6 cable just to be sure it was not the wiring. Purchased new router and modem. Re installed windows 10. Updated the network adapter's manually 12.18.8.9 (7) 1219-v. did all the new ipconfig/commands in CMD . Went as far as running TronScript/reddit download nothing. I have also double/triple checked all of the settings in my router setting's. I am currently running Windows 10 Version 1909. For my CPU I am running i9-9900k with a ASUS Prime z390-A. I just can't seem to wrap my head around the issue tried many thing's checked setting's made sure they were turned off and looked deep into google for over 5 month's now. all works well then in the morning I will have internet for 3 minuets then dc and have it repeat's itself 10 times Same issue occurs with some times at night. I assumed this was an issue with my isp and am waiting for the fcc to finish there investigation since Cox runs a monopoly around my Area and I am paying 140 $ a month and not getting even close to 300 down and 30 up. Jitter on the nodes will get supper bad but my wireless internet does not go out which makes no sense to me at all.

Hey guys! My system is stable at stock speeds, I've been rendering some 3D animations for 3 days+ with no crash or bsod. Memtest86 didn't report any errors on my RAM. But I'm not sure what I am missing, or doing incorrectly, or just unlucky on the quality of some parts? I've tried the basic 9900k 5ghz overclocking tutorials by MSI over their website, Gigabyte's guide, Der8auer's guide, JJ's guide (Asus). Tried the similar tips on their guides like turning XMP on/off, tested LLC levels of 3-7, voltage of 1.29 - 1.35, AVX Offsets -2 to -4m. I usually don't fiddle with settings that I don't understand or they don't mention changing, but everytime, it's unstable. I understand that there's no perfect insurance on stability once you overclock your parts, but even a slight oc of 4.8ghz on all cores crashes cinebench R15/R20, BSOD's halfway through. Even if I lost the silicon lottery, I'm willing to run the 9900k with higher voltages for a stable 5Ghz because it's a real game changer to preview your 3D animations in real-time. I just plan on using this stable 5Ghz OC profile when I work heavily for a few hours. I'm getting really confused now because I've search many other forums and questions, and I think that other people with the same specs doesn't have this kind of problem. Should I give up trying to overclock? Thank you for your time. The GPU runs 1900mhz at 74temp, it's my first time building myself. Do I need to update anything? I didnt touch my ssds or hdd, just reactivated windows, downloaded nvidia updated the driver. Two of the rgb connectors couldn't fit in with the rest of the rgb, so I ordered the corsair commander pro icue. Is there anything else I need to update or should I get a water cooling system for the GPU? Thank you all so much.

So other than clock speed what's the difference between the 9900k and 9900ks? Like is it just an overclock to the same processor or a whole new processor? Would it be worth waiting for the i9-9900ks? It's probably gonna be towards the end of the month before I have the money to buy one, but I can wait if it would be worth waiting.

So, i've had my 9900K for a while, and at stock it's occasionally crashed, that was fixed by adding an offset of +50mV to the vCore. Kinda decided i would have a go at least getting it to 5ghz across all cores, rather than just a single core turbo. Now i'm at 5.0 GHz, and 1.325v isn't even stable, trying 1.350 for the lulz now, i run prime95 26.6 for literally 30 seconds and the system will hard lock-up and i have to turn power off and on again. I've got a 360mm AIO (thermaltake water 3.0 ultimate 360mm), and i'm watching temps and those aren't brilliant but it isn't going over 90c. Now i tried to get stock clocks working properly instead, and found the only way to have it stable on stock volts with no offset, is to disable c-states. That's all fine, i can put up with a little extra idle power draw, except now it only turbo boosts to 4.7, though it is then rock solid, so clearly my chip just is not fully stable in any form above 4.7ghz, even at its own stock settings. Should I RMA it? Another thing i've noticed is that core 2 and 8 run about 10c cooler than all the other cores.

Hi guys, can you tell me whether or not the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro is sufficient for the i9-9900k in terms of VRM and thermals? - Or do i need to step it up to lets say the Z390 Aorus Master e.g.? Thanks in advance!

I originally was going to go with a higher end build with RTX2080 ti and i9-9900k but I decided I won't be using 4K so that might be overkill. Is the RTX2080 good enough to run max settings in 1440 with over 60fps in all games? Which CPU is the next step below the i9-9900k? My hope is to be able to run all games in 1440 at least 60fps, I'm only interested in the newer hardware though. One more thing, I have no interest in AMD, only the newer Intel CPUs.
