Hey, I'm wondering if I can get a little bit more use out of my old motherboard with a better CPU. The problem is that my motherboard only has a 4 pin eps connector. Now, I'm wondering, can my motherboard handle the i7-2600? I'm guessing no one can say for sure since there is no supported cpus list for my mobo, but maybe can have some meaningful information?

Alright so this is what I got goin on: I currently have a Dell Optiplex that can pull hella frames in many games. Here are the specs (I7-2600, 16 gb ddr3 ram clocked at 1600 MHz, 256 GB SSD, (1) 750 GB HDD, (1) 600 GB HDD, 500W PSU, and a Gigabyte GTX 1060 6gb Windforce OC.) [KEEP IN MIND THIS IS THE NON K VARIANT*] On the Intel website for the cpu it says the base clock is 3.4 GHz and the boost clock is 3.8 ghz, but I've done some research and seen YouTube videos in which people like Gamers Nexus and other small PC enthusiasts got clocks up to 4.2 GHz. If anyone could expand more on this, and maybe explain the overclocking process in detail or even link me to a video that explains the overclocking process for this processor in detail it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, If anyone could help I would like to know how many cars I can spawn with an I7-2600 and a gtx 1050ti going to use them in an old dell optiplex 390 and how good would the performance in general be at 1080p.

Hey i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice since i'm trying to figure out what kind of performance gain i will get if i upgrade my i7-2600 non-K to a i7-7700K in my gaming rig. I currently have : i7-2600 @ 3.9-4.2Ghz OC with Cooler Master Seidon 240v watercooler 16Gb DDR3 Ram @ 1600Mhz ------> will upgrade to 32Gb DDR4 2400 when getting i7-7700K Nvidia GTX1060 6Gb AsRock Z77 Extreme 4 ---- > will upgrade to MSI Z270 SLI Plus when getting i7-7700K 2Tb and 3Tb HDD ------> will probably get SSD soon aswell 650Watt power supply Is it worth the 940 dollar price tag? Will i even gain any kind of performance gain? (excluding the ssd ofcourse)

Will a GTX 1060 6GB bottleneck my i7-2600 non k processor? If so, is it better to get the 3GB version in this case?

Looking to get a Z77 ASUS Sabertooth and 16GB's of DDR3-2133 RAM, but I'm having a hard time finding a good GPU for it. Sub-$150 would be nice if possible. Also, could I overclock a GPU or CPU if it's bottlenecking with one of the other? Thanks guys!

Hello, I've been running my i7-2600 since it came out and i've been using it for quite a while doing everything from web browsing and skype calls to gaming on max settings with a GTX 660 and 16gb of ddr3 ram and now recently upgraded to an GTX1060 6gb OC. I run dual monitors all the time and sometimes hook up my tv aswell and have 2 2TB harddrives and a 3TB games hard drive (just mentioning all this incase it makes a diffirence) Recently i've been considering upgrade my i7-2600 to something newer but since clock speed havent really jumped up that much i've been thinking about just overclocking it (to 4.0Ghz or higher) and installing watercooling. Is this a smart move when i use the pc just about all the time and even leaving it on days at a time? or will this break my CPU or something like that? I have overclocked my CPU before to 3.8 but during summer it gets way too hot. Let me know since i've been looking around but cant find a good conclusion for my specific case yet.

Ok so my freind has a Gtx 1650 low profile that he doesn't need and wants to give it to me so I can play some of my favorite games which are Cod Warzone, and Apex Legends. Yes I know there are better options out there, but if I can get a decent graphics card for free, I will. My question is will this Gtx 1650 low profile work in my Dell optiplex 390 build. By work I mean, is it actually compatible with my motherboard and the chipset because I heard if a graphics card doesn't have certain necessities like an updated bios, etc, even if it is physically compatible your monitor could black screen. My PC has an i7-2600, 16 gb of ram, a 500 GB SSD and a 1 tb SSD. Any help will be appreciated.

Ok so here is what's going on. I have a Gtx 1650 low profile and a i7-2600 lying around and thought. I guess I'll make a decent gaming PC with them. So I found a refurbished Dell Optiplex 390, but before I buy it, I want to know if my i7-2600 and my Gtx 1650 low profile will work in this PC. I don't want to buy this PC and it just turned out to be a waste of money. Any help is appreciated. Links to anything helpful is also appreciated too

I've found a used PC with 32 GB of ram, an i7-2600 cooled with an F9. I'd be replacing the PSU with a Corsair one that I've already got. I'd take out some of the RAM and add a GPU. The PSU is an older Corsair CX 400 watt. What kind of GPU could I slot in there? I was looking at 960s, as they're the only ones I can find with 400 watts recommended. Thanks in advance!

I'd like to ask the community about a recent gaming build (on a budget as I'm a universitarian now) I've recently made. I could post the full build as a separate topic if you like to see more or suggest (that would be even better); Briefly the machine is basically a Dell Optiplex 990 MT (the "big" case version) which I bought cheap from UK (I'm Italian, from Milan, prices for hardware is higher); It sorts now i7-2600, 12Gb of mismatched brand but correct speed DDR3 1333Mhz, Liteon-it SSD 256Gb as main drive along HDD and a GTX 1060 GS 6Gb. I was wondering on this Q67express if I could upgrade to a not tested 2600k remaining able to change multiplier through software like intel's XTU (within stock unchangeable voltage) to get a bit more CPU performance. It's on the same 95w Tdp. Overclocking FSB seems impossible, and I can't even find the clock generator on the MB which seems "hidden". I know it's not an overclocking MB (I used to have an assembled pc years ago) but it makes me crazy that I can't even gain some Mhz!

Hey guys! I just bought a 1050 Ti 4GB and a CXM 550W 80+ Bronze PSU for Christmas, but I'm unsure on what the best case would be. I'm planning to overclock in the not-so-distant future, but not by too much. I do like RGB, but nothing over the top. Any suggestions? If needed to know, I have an i7-2600 CPU with DDR3-1333 Memory (Planning to upgrade this as well), on an HP Compaq mobo from a - you guessed it - an HP Compaq computer.

Hey, I've just setup a "new" gaming pc for a buddy of mine. It's build like my 6+ year old setup. It still in working more than good enough; i7-2600 Asus p67 chipset and a GTX 1080 2x 8gb ram 4k benQ cad monitor The multiplier and the turbo mode on max and it been running at 3,9GHz multi core. WHen it's not under syntactic load 1 core CAN run 4,2GHz with the remaining 3 core at 3,8GHz. It's still a slight bottleneck for the GTX 1080 but locking max fps at 90 keeps everything smooth. Why we think this is still a good setup and why it's build as it is; The 2600 is without oc 'only' 35% slower than a 7700 and 30% with oc. 2x 8g because 4x4 gives more load on the Cpu *16Gb because of work, 12 should be enough 4k monitors are harder on the GPU: high fps are hard on the Cpu while lots of pixels strain the Gpu The 2600 still power a lot the work stations over here. The single core boost to 3,9GHz is especialy good for the CAD/CAM software (dont know why doh). Bang for bugs and it's proven to be reliable and durable. He's going to end up with an 2600 non k out of a workstations. THe mobo will be a MSI Z77A-GD65. Crucial Ballistix Sport 2 times 8GB 1600mHz (running at 1333). Scythe mugen 4 (I have the 3). And an 4k Samsung U28E590. The only new parts are the MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G 1,8tb hdd, el cheapo case, Corsair VS550. Total price ~775, in Holland. Overclock result will have to wait till i have some more time, but i hope it will run the same as mine When i asked for motherboard advice, regarding the new pc, i was told straight of the bad that the non k couldn't run that high and that i was mistaken How is it possible that over 6 years after the release people still don't know how Intel's chipsets and K/non K processors work A simple google search gave hundreds half craptacular answers. I can's say Intel is any better, tryed to search on there site but got no clear answer. So I was wanting to get a i7-2600, So I kinda know it's was going to be supported but before that I would want to confirm that it would work cause that it's a second gen, Then I can't really find what kind of chip set it has cause it has to H61 and read somewhere that it's a H77 but was not sure about that so I was thinking of still getting it but not sure if it would work and just not post or boot into windows, So then I figured I should ask people who know more about compatibility and all that jazz

Hello I have a i7-2600 non-k with two 970 in SLI. When i play GTA V my CPU is around 85-100 load all time. Both GPU's is running/jumping around 60-80% load. Does my CPU bottleneck my GPU's? I got a great offer on a i7-5820k should i go for that?

Hi guys, I just picked up an old i7-2600 desktop (with case, Psu (500 watt 80bronze) , and mobo (Intel DQ76SW) included) from a local computer scrap store. I have no hard drive or ram right now but when I borrowed a stick from the guy at the store it started up and posted just fine. Honestly I think that 80$ was a pretty good deal. I'm planning on turning it into my first gaming rig and I had a few questions. 1) The i7-2600 says that it's compatible with DDR3-1066 and 1333 ram but my question was will it work with anything higher? 2) The system only has PCIe 2.0 compatibility, will a 16x slot bottleneck a GTX 970 or Radeon r9 390 in any way? (id like to know before a sink 300$ into one of them.) Other than that, if you guys have any thoughts or suggestions about the build let me know, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

This are my current specs CPU:- i7-2600 non K CPU coller:- Purex DLX-CW919 LGA1150/1155/1156 CPU Cooler $9.99 Mother Board:- Asus P8Z77-V LK 1155 Chip Set ( Missing the i/o shield ) Ram:- 4*4 16 GB DDR3... low profile; DDR= Double Data Rate. 800MHz in CPU-z is the same as DDR3-1600 SSD:- Two 128 GBSamsung 840 pro GPU:- PNY GTX 460 1GB XLR8 PSU:- Corsair CX Series 600 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Case:- Corsair Carbide Series 200R Compact ATX Case CC-9011023-WW Fans:- Intake:- Front, Bottom, Side Panel (blowing on to the GPU ... freakin loud); Exhaust:- Back, 2 on top... so 6 in total, the 4 fans are generic Foxconn 4pin PWM fans and the other 2 came with case corsair 3 pin fans... (using cable splitter) Display:- HP ZR2740w Resulation 2560*1440 60Hz... one heck of a monitor If I get a GTX 780 and a Noctua NH D-14 CPU air cooler; can I play games with ultra settings? If I want to overclock the CPU I have two issues:- 1. non k processors dosen't OC that well 2. Asus P8Z77-V LK is not a great overclocking MB What do you guys think? should I get the GTX 780 with my current non k CPU, and try to overclock it ? (At least I can reuse the GTX 780 GPU and the Noctua NH D-14 air cooler in future build) Am I going to get better performance combining GTX 780 with i7-3770k / i5-4670k / i7-4770k and with a better overclocking motherboard?? Is the i7-2600 non k is a strong enough CPU to support GTX 780 so that overclocking and good motherboard wont even count? The only reason I am even thinking about overclocking the CPU because I am not sure if its going to bottleneck the GTX 780 GPU.
