I haven't seen a thread for this so I hope I'm not double posting. Today I went to turn on my PC and it failed to post, no debug led's light up except for the cpu light, the motherboard attempts to turn on and gets stuck in a boot loop that doesn't stop unless power is killed from the power supply. The system was also working fine last night and was shut down properly. The PC is: Processor: i5-8600k Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 Rev.1 RAM: 32 Gb Giel Super Luce DDR4 3000 MHz Graphics Card: Gigabyte RTX 2060 Gaming OC Power Supply: EVGA NEX650G Storage: (Boot Drive:Silicon power 500 Gb sata ssd), Wd Blue 3d NANd Sata M.2 500Gb, Sabrent Rocket 1Tb NVMe PCIe 3 M.2 Cooler: Deepcool CaptainPro 240 I have reseated the CPU, tried the system without the GPU installed and with only one stick of RAM at a time, I have cleared the CMOS multiple times and now have the entire PC disassembled on a test bench. If anyone has suggestions on what to test next or experience with this issue any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. no log files because I cannot even get it to post

Hello Guys, I'm about to build a new pc that should be solely for games. (i don't render nor video edit). I already have an NVIDIA GTX 1080ti, and i would like to hit 5ghz cpu clock (delided ofc, and yes i'm aware of silicon lottery). After reading numerous reviews i narrowed my list to a few motherboards/cpus combination, and would like your help on which one to choose that will give the best PPD. Thanks in advance

This will be my re-entry into the PC gaming arena. I will be using it for gaming and my wife will be editing videos, from time to time, for work using Camtasia and Vegas. Should I spend the extra money on an i7-8700K to get HT? Is there any benefit to PC-3000 or should I save $10 and get PC-2666? The 1TB drive is for local storage and I have a home built NAS for bulk and redundant storage. Thanks in advance for the constructive advice. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/srkVxY

A few months ago, I posted a thread about an upgrade path that I should pursue. Fast forward to now and I still haven't made the upgrade to Ryzen. And a good call for my part since coffee lake just got recently released. But now, I'm having more of a difficult time to decide which I should go for. I'm leaning on an i5-8600k (going to OC to atleast close to 5ghz) or a Ryzen 5 1600x (paired with X370 Taichi or a decent B350 motherboard that can reach 4ghz flat OC only if possible). I'll list all the intended use for the rig below. 1. Mainly gaming (AAA Titles and latest titles like Shadow of War, the upcoming Assassin's Creed Origins, etc.,) at 1080p @ 60hz (144hz in December hopefully). 2. Video Recording and editing (mostly recording games at 1080p 60hz and gonna edit them to upload on YT) 3. Streaming (something that won't lag for the viewers if ever. Say 1080p 60fps?). I'm planning to keep my RAM, PSU, and GPU to be used in the next build. Buying a new case for this one (Eyeing the Fractal Meshify C). Ram = 8gb 2x4gb DDR4 2400 Corsair LPX CL14 PSU = Seasonic M12II 750w evo ed GPU = XFX RX 480 GTR Black Edition Or is there something else that I should change or upgrade? Can you guys offer me some suggestions like if I were to purchase an i5 8600k, what are the things that still needs to be upgraded (other than the obvious motherboard and CPU), or if I were to purchase a Ryzen 5 1600x (ram concerns and motherboard selections)? Thanks in advance you guys.

hi, I live in the country side and our internet sucks... but, the fiber will be arriving in december and I want to get back into gaming. All I want to do is play games and not have to upgrade for as long as possible. I was wondering if I should wait for vega from nvidia or should I get a 1060 6gb... I don't know wich one would be better : i5-8600k or i3-8350k. here is my pc part picker list : https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/DLhBXH thanks.

Hi! My pc has been underpreforming lately and I don't know what the problem is. I feel like I've tried everything. Basicly when I'm playing games, my CPU is preforming at 100% in the taskmanager and it is noticeable ingame too. Before I got this lag I used to have around 130 fps when playing Mordhau. Now I can barely hit 80 fps (Mordhau isn't the only game with fps drop). I've done everything in this article https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/easy-to-fix-computer-lagging-issues-step-by-step/ and reset my BIOS setting but the problem is still there. Any advice about how to get rid of this lag would be greatly appresiated! Thank you very much!

Hi!I need help fixing my pc. It is an intel i5-8600k with an gtx 1080 graphicscard and this settup has worked flawless for a long time up until now.Problems:- Usually high process usage ingame, but also regular tasks like opening google.- Low FPS in a majority of games, usually between 70-80 compaired to a solid 144+ fps before.- In whole a very unsmooth experience, especially compaired to before.- Games like battlefield shows warnings signs like package loss, Latency variation and low fps.I feel like I've really tried everything. Reseting Windows, Hardware checkup etc... If you have any clue of what this could be, anything would help.

I will soon be upgrading my PC and I8 currently have a motherboard that supports my I5-7400 and a 1060 3gb I will be upgrading to a 1070ti and I was wondering if the about £100 increase in price is worth it for the I5-8600K since if I chose the I5-7600K I wouldn't have to buy a new motherboard. So the question is: Is the boost in performance worth it and will an I5-7600K bottleneck my GPU at 1080p normal gaming and Vr using the Vive (also streaming sometimes). If anyone could help I would be really grateful as I've given lots of thought to this and still don't have a decision.

Hey, I am building a pc for gaming rn. So I actually live in India where the prices are a bit high. I was thinking to buy the I5-8600k which is for 20800rs(255$) but the z370 motherboards in India are very expensive like the MSI sli plus which sells for around 154$ in USA but in India it is for 15500rs(217$) . Should I go for any i5 non k version (8th gen) and buy a cheap b360 or H370 mobile and save the 50$? Remember the prices of all the i5s (8th gen) are the same (230$-255$) and the mobos are for 150-180$(H370,B360). And yeah, would buying the k version for just overclocking justify spending the extra 50$ on the motherboard. I will be using it for gaming, light Editing and blender.(GPU-1070) Thank you.

Hello all, after 10 year of playing on a gtx 280 and I figured with the prices of the 1080ti dropping that it might be a good time to build a new pc. I would like to re-use my old case a CM Trooper and CPU Liquid Cooler : neptopn 240m for my new build as they have not seen much use and still do the job. Now I did not want to buy a RTX 2080 an managed to get myself a new AORUS GTX 1080 Ti on sale. I'm struggling with Motherboard and CPU though watching ton of videos hasn't brought me any closer to a decision. Everytime I think I reached a decision I read something new such as AORUS GTX not fitting in AORUS gamimg 7 ? Now RAM will be depeneded on the board so I did not look into it yet, I don't care for RGB on the ram though Overview PC I'm thinking about: Case: CM Trooper the case has 4 Coolers in it CPU: Intel Core i5-8600K or Intel i7-8700k? I have seen my charts and just wanted to now the personal expierence of you guys if difference is noticeable enough to make it worth the extra 200€ CPU-Cooling: neptopn 240m GPU: AORUS GTX 1080 Ti (Purchased) 650.-€ Motherboard: Gigabyte Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 or ROG MAXIMUS X HERO ( are equally priced where I live) The problem what I have with the Aorus is I have read that there are issues with Aorus Z370 and the Aorus GTX 1080ti not fitting, I called customer support and they said that the GTX 1080ti was revised and there should no longer be a problem, if so I need to contact support. Can anyone confirm that it has been fixed? Any reason I should consider another board? RAM: 16 GB should be enough for now just want the best performance for either of the boards RGB is nice to have Storage: Samsung 970 Evo M.2 500GB Samsung 860 EVO, 1 TB SSD (Purchased) 160€,- POWER: Coolermaster recommend 631W min any recommendations I'm tending towards Be Quit not haven't looked into which one Thanks you in advance for your aid Budget between 1400-1800€ max location Netherlands/Germany

I am going to build a new PC ,have to decide between getting an i5-8600k now or getting an i5-9600k when it's released. Since the i5-9600k just has a 200MHz higher turbo clock(according to multiple leaks) than the i5-8600k, which can be easily made up by overclocking. Therefore , is it worth the wait? Help please

I will try to keep this as short as possible to not waste you time.. I've build my own pc whitch contains the following hardware: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/PlzGivMonej/saved/Q4QxYJ It's been working fine for like 7,5 months but has recently starting acting weirdly. It's hard to explain but I'll try. For example while playing league of legends I get a very nice fps but it's not smooth. It like quickly freezes in frame and then it jumps back to normal. This happens like once every 3 seconds and it's really ruinning the experience. This is rather special for league but if I play BF1 it just isn't as smooth as it used to be. It keeps freeze framing shortly and it feels like my gpu has gotten weaker. It also feels like I'm playing on a 30hz monitor when I have a 144hz monitor. Like I said the computer has worked very well but has just now stated to preform worse. I'm very sure that is't not overheating. It overall feels like my pc just downgraded. I've done mcafee's virucheck which says that I don't have any viruses. I've also carefully cleaned my computer from dust, ran a Ccleaner, reinstalled my nvidia dribers with DDU and I really don't know what to do =( I would be greatful if you gave me some advice!

So I got a new computer about a month ago and I got some help from a friend of mine that has some experience to overclock it, I got a stable overclock on my i5-8600k @4.8GHz but only at 1.300Voltage, (at 5Ghz I get bluescreens at any voltage up to 1.400V) my friend proceeded to tell me 1.300Volt is a lot and that he would not want his cpu to be running at a voltage that high, so I would want to ask any of you if this is dangerous, could I maybe fry my cpu ? Or does it shorten my cpu's lifespan ? Any replies are helpful. my specs are as follows i5-8600k 6 cores, 6 threads at 3.6 GHz EVGA GTX 1080Ti SC2 GAMING 11GB monitor runs at 1920x1080 144Hz Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200 (if ram in anyway affects this) When playing WarThunder with everything on max settings at 1920x1080 144Hz except for SSAA x4 (super-sampling Anti-Aliasing) which was turned off. I noticed that my GPU caps off at a temp of 44 Celsius, and, my GPU usage never goes above 55%. When I turn SSAA on the temp stays nearly the same but the usage jumps to 98%. So, is this just a case of the game not being intensive enough for full usage (until SSAA is turned on) or is something else going on. Question may be stupid or obvious but I was just curious, thanks in advance. (mind you that WarThunder is probably optimized for potato computers to be able to run it)

Hi, I recently upgraded to a core I5-8600K. I managed to overclock it to 4.8GHz, but an issue has arisen. I kept increasing voltage gradually and using Prime95 to test if everything was stable. Well I went to check and see what 1.29V would do, and now worker #1 is completely gone. I've tried restarting my computer, but it doesn't do anything. I was able to test 4.9GHz at 1.31V earlier and it still showed all 6 workers. When I boot up Aida64 and attempt their stress test, the cores are all maxed, but with Prime95 for some reason one just doesn't even show up. What is happening? I couldn't find anything online except workers stopped, never a worker missing.
