Hi folks, im here in search on the wisdom of the people from linus forum. So my current rig is: CPU: i5-7600 Motherboard: Asus B250F RAM: 8GB(2X4GB) DDR4 2400mhz Kingston HyperX GPU: ASUS Strix GTX 1060 6GB PSU: Corsair cs450W So about a month ago i bought 2x4gb of ram (identical to mine) to a friend, when they arrived i just simply installed it to get those juicy 16gb and the pc just didnt boot with a orange DRAM led on the motherboard, i took the ram from slot B2 and the pc booted one time with 12gb but after i restarted the pc i never maneged to get him to boot with 12gb again. I tried changing the ram from all slot's and neither worked, i've reseted CMOS, downclock the ram's speed to 2133mhz, enabled XMP but nothing worked. I just gave up and sent back the ram's to my friend. (which perfectly work on his computer) A few days later i realized that since i built my pc back in 2017, i've always used the ram next to each other aka not in dual-channel, so i changed the second stick from A2 to B1 and i get a red DRAM led at first but then it changes to orange DRAM led, the same happens in slot B2. I also get the orange or red DRAM led if i try to boot the pc with a single stick of ram on B1 or B2. I really don't know what could possible be the problem with the motherboard or ram's so if anyone have experieced the same problem as me and solved it please let me know. Best regards

Resolution: 1080p, Refresh rate: 60Hz New to LTT forums here. I'd ordered an EVGA RTX 2060 super a few days ago and I've been doing some research on bottlenecks. I know it depends on workloads, but for the games listed above, will the i5-7600 cause a bottleneck for the resolution (1080p) and refresh rate (60Hz) stated?

I recently bought a used I5 7600 (non-k) and am planning to get a gtx 970 (was gonna get a gtx 980 but auctions have not been kind to me). Just wanna check before buying whether or not there will be any bottlenecking.

Hey all, My Rig currently comprised of a i5 7600 paired with an EVGA 1080 with 16 GBs of ram seems to be inadequate for some games. I just upgraded from a 1070 and have noticed very little fps boost... This leads me to believe I am being bottlenecked by my CPU but i know that the cpu i have is still pretty recent... my friend has a laptop with an i7 7700hq and a 1070 and he will get between 30-45 fps more than I do in battlefield 1... shouldnt i be kicking his butt with the higher speed and clocked i5 and 1080 or are i7's really that much better? What do i need to upgrade to see my fps go higher? or is my build fine? Best,

Everytime I play games I run into occassional lag. I tried to do some investigation and check with MSI afterburner (GTX 1060 6GB) and etc to see what could be the problem, but it was in task manager where I found the problem. Often my processor will hit up to 100% and cause fps lag while gaming (I mostly play PUBG and Rust), and that at medium settings. I would've thought my I5-7600 would be strong enough to run without having this issue. Is there anything I can do to imrpove its performance without having to upgrade to an I7? I've tried to exit all programs that are not in use while gaming, but it still happens. (My memory is pretty stable at 61% while gaming w/16gb of RAM).

hello guys and gals, i am planning on buying a 1080 when i find one at a decent price, with the new rtx series releasing. i game on a 2560*1080 resolution and notice that my current 1060 is struggling for some games, hence the 1080. my question now is if my cpu( i5-7600) will bottleneck my system? if so i was planning on getting a i7-7700 so i dont also have to upgrade my mobo, because that would be a little out of my budget. do you think the 7700 is necessary? any other options are always welcome as well thanks in advance

I just upgraded my pc with a new graphic card, gtx 1060 6gb ( had a 460 before) and a new 144hz monitor. But after installed csgo started to run worse and have stutter like lag even tho i have 144hz and bf1 don't run well even on lowest settings. Pubg runs better than bf1, even tho pubg have often lagspikes on normal settings. I have the latest gpu driver. Not sure what to do. Feeling slighty angry that i spent all that money to not run my games good. I have: gtx 1060 6gb gpu i5-7600 cpu 16gb ram 550w psu Not sure what to do.

Hey I have just build a gamer pc but I have experienced some bottlenecking with my CPU. My specs are: GTX 1070Ti i5-7600 Msi B250M bazooka 16gb ddr4 ram 2400 and I am using my LG 50" tv to game on so 60hz My motherboard can only use an I5 or I7 generation 6 or 7 Do anyone know what cpu is the best fit for my gtx 1070Ti? I have no plans on overclocking my cpu or gpu Sorry for my English I am Danish
